Labor Day Live (Ended)

[Music] okay this is the awkward part for me when I start these and I'm the only one here and then I have to talk to myself for a minute or two so I'm hoping somebody comes in and starts to chat with me here but anyway uh welcome this is September 2nd Labor Day uh 202 24 I believe and doing a live stream today instead of a regular video so uh like I said hopefully someone will come along and join chair because I have two built into the van when I do want to sit down but I yeah I want to be outside moving around that's what I did yesterday I was outside all day I got a little bit of a I didn't or not but hey spider uh FG I've never been to Spokane i' I've always stayed closer to uh the west side of the state so I don't know I I I haven't been over there ever one of these days you know Spokan is really hot in the summer and very cold in the winter so uh it's not a place that I would really gravitate to supposed to be pretty nice out there but um just you know weather why it's not not my kind of place 66 Cynthia is is okay I I actually prefer it to be a little cooler although I think it was almost that yesterday and I I got a little overheated for a few minutes hey Frost hey Ernie oh thank you Holly that's very nice nice of you I I'm I'm down to my last bag of coffee so that's timely so thank you I'll I'll grab some more uh tomorrow let's see I I think I can super yeah there you go I forget that I can like those on here oh interesting you went from a forerunner to a minivan that's pretty cool yeah I would imagine you'd have a lot more space wouldn't you uh going to a minivan and a 4Runner it seems like it would be expensive tires wise but that's just a guess on my part hey Dave how's it going yeah I Mary I wish I wish coffee was the was the answer to my comments on there saying like well if you didn't like it you should have left you know and I'm like well should have watched a few more minutes of that video and the next several videos cuz I stayed there all winter I was very clear later on about how much I like the area oh you got rain in Portland that's cool Tamara uh was it 70 where you were yesterday David I think it was like I think it was like 65 where I was so it just felt a little bit warm since I was moving around and out in the sun uh but it didn't you know what didn't seem that that hot oh5 in perum no thank you oh thank you for saying that Kim I always forget where you're from I should remember I think I'm I think I'm getting far behind on the chat I'm sorry if I if I've missed what you're saying uh and it's important just that let's see okay it's changed I think thank you otter I appreciate the clarification yeah Thomas that's a funny thing dark roast does have more caffeine usually but with coffee nothing's really set in stone but because it does depend on the coffee variety as well but yeah dark roast actually has more caffeine than light roast which is contradictory to everything that they have told us but they've done a lot of testing scientific testing so now we know for a fact that that's true although people it's funny people you know they're they're like no I heard that 20 years ago so I'm sticking with it you know uh but yeah yeah that's one of the funny things um you know cuz I switched to light roast and I don't I don't notice a difference with caffeine uh caffeine doesn't any effect on me so you know I don't notice the difference with with the caffeine level personally um although if I drink a lot of it nowadays that I'm getting older I do notice I get a little heart thing going on but um that's very rare you know which you know that's why I'm drinking decaf right now just to make sure I don't have any funny business going on but yeah I don't notice the caffeine so as long as the coffee tastes good I don't really care if it's got lots of caffeine or not oh hey David alai Beach that's a good place to be hey Shane Central Texas is 76 oh that's nice sounds like a big break in temperature there oh thank you Christie I appreciate you tagging along on my Adventures um Deborah I don't really I don't really make a lot of plans on where I'm going to be ahead of time um probably spent a little time in Santa Rosa like I did uh last winter just because it was really good like it was kind of the perfect winter place for me um I would like to maybe move around a little bit more this winter but uh the the van is probably a bigger factor with if I'll be able to do that or not and My Views have been down I mean you know I know people get upset when I talk about that but like My Views are way down right now and so that does affect my pocket book which affects me traveling a little bit so if views go up and the van uh stabiliz izes a little bit I would like to travel maybe a little bit more than I did last winter although it was really nice being in Santa Rosa last winter I mean it I got there and once I got the area figured out like I really didn't want to leave the area you know it's just so nice there and I was you know there was a big area that I was going to you know I was I was hanging out from Petaluma down to uh or up to um uh Hillsburg so you know it's a that's a big area that I was in I just say Santa Rosa to make it easy hey Dom yeah I've been to Syracuse every time I think every time I've been to Syracuse it's it's rained is it I think it rains more in Syracuse than Seattle although nobody ever believes me when I say that hey Shandra yeah I don't do a lot of lives but yeah happy you found this here hey Alexandra you got to take care of the I did enjoy this trip to Washington though it was it was a nice trip although there were a couple things that happened that I probably could have talked about but they weren't very nice so I decided not to bring them up maybe I'll talk about them in a future episode or something but um but yeah all in all it was a it was a pretty good trip out hey hello from New York City oh you're back in your favorite place uh Timmy huh well I hope you're hope you're in a good place now helvetica hey Lisa how are you uh Dom I'm I'm not real I'm not real big on C eggs I had one for a little while years ago before I really kind of got into coffee and uh you know they're convenient but uh I you know like for this cup here this is this is a 16 oz cup and I normally Brew not quite a full 16 o but I use uh about 20 GS of of coffee for this cup and I don't know if you've measured how much coffee is in a little cure egg pod it's not much you know in my opinion cure eggs are not the freshest coffee and also they're you know you can really only make a very small uh cup with them if that makes sense hey pressure washing how's it going Woodby that's I I almost went out to Woodby I I almost jumped on the ferry and and went out to Woodby and and then I didn't just cuz the van was acting up one of these days I'll get out there yeah David I mean a new vehicle is going to have to happen in the in the future at some point you know I'm going to hold on to this as long as I can but um even with driving minimally you know the van is aging quite poorly so yeah you know it's a new vehicle is is in the works at some point uh yeah I do actually Arcada uh is my favorite Farmers Market here Violet uh you know there's a few around but I do I do like that one the best um probably I like that one the best because fog line is there uh I think they're there every week uh and they always have samples out so it's it's an easy way for me to get some new coffee from fogline fog line is my favorite uh coffee roaster nowadays so yeah I do like that farmers market did somebody say something about Starbucks I missed that Barbara yeah I I always have really good coffee in the van so it's like why would I go and pay for Starbucks doesn't make any sense to me well thanks George I don't get out too too much do too much hiking but these days maybe someday oh right Ren that was you I I met in Port ssen I was kind of expecting to see you again this year but it didn't run into you somebody said they saw me there he waved at me and I kind of waved back and then they they didn't come up and talk to me I was like oh you should have come up and talk to me they told me this after the fact you know but oh well maybe I scowled at him I don't I don't know if you see me out and about always come up and say hi hey toally left field how's it going oh you're out in the Olympics now Terry cool your dog's sixth birthday all right excellent hey Mr van Legend how's it going well I'm not I'm not actually in Ferndale right now Lisa I'm I'm actually in Eureka I don't have enough uh I don't have enough uh cell service in fale to do one of these there but I didn't hear it was going to get hot in the Bay Area that's interesting hey Jen and Tommy how's it going uh what influenced the diet diet change Lulu I my bank account I I was I was living a little bit high in the hog and buying lots of food uh there's a really good co-op here in Eureka um there's two of them actually there's one in Eureka one in Arcada um there's also another really good natural food store and so when I when I get back here at first I start buying all the things that I couldn't get when I'm not here I spent way too much money on food and then I was thinking oh I gotta I got to stop spending so much money on food I actually bought a very expensive bag of coffee as well which is not good uh I don't need to be spending that much on coffee um so so yeah so that that was kind of a that that was kind of I I just was thinking I got to kind of cut back on on uh my budget a little bit and and uh yeah that wasn't so good for me me to do so yeah and I'm really behind on the chat here I'm sorry uh Jason my other channel yeah you know that Channel's not monetized so it that channel is really just uh a hobby channel for me so I just do things that I really can't do on this channel and just things that I'd kind of like to do that are different um because it's not monetized I just don't want to spend a lot of money on it I'm behind on this channel on things that I should be doing so it's uh it might be a little while till I get another video out on that on that other channel it's static ASMR if you're interested there's a link for it in in each video if I get a bunch of people subscribing and watching it'll be monetized and I would put a little more effort into it that's the honest truth with that I think I met I think I missed part of your question Violet I'm sorry you're from Eatonville really I've been just prefer that you know I don't I I really enjoyed Santa Cruz but I I uh I made made a few enemies there Deborah so I was actually talking to my friends that used to live there and I said I don't know if they're going to allow me back I think I'm going to have a Target on me if I try to go back to Santa Cruz I probably shouldn't joke about uh an ankle bracelet again because people didn't get that joke but I could make another joke about an ankle bracelet you don't eat cheese Karen Mo most of the time cheese kind of makes up the majority of my um of my protein although I'm supposed to be eating more red meat but that's that gets back to that thing where you know things got a bit expensive and so I I was trying to avoid buying the expensive stuff they kept your used cat said well you don't want it do you it's probably no good because you know they were you know they're probably full of oil from the oil burning so I don't think you'd really want that cat oh thank you Jason you know that's one of those things that helps Jason so I I do really appreciate that oh Angela that's so nice of you thank you so much wow um desert Grill you know that there's lots of great places to be in the winter time you know it kind of depends on do you like do you like being near the ocean do you want to be in the mountains do you want to be in the desert you know do you want to avoid cold weather or uh if you want to you know if you don't mind some cold you can you can go to some really cool places that um you know most people are not around so like Humbolt is actually pretty nice in November and December it's going to be rainy uh but it doesn't get very cold here uh so if you know it makes it really easy here because you can like you can go to uh Fern what is it Fern Canyon uh which normally you need to get you need to make a reservation for but you don't need a reservation in the winter time I think in the fall and winter um so it just kind of depends on what your what your preference is hey Donna the Oregon coast is a good place to be in June well it's good that you got the ankle bracelet joke you know I I did point out a couple of times in in some comments to people that I didn't say I had an ankle monitor I did not say monitor I said ankle bracelet because I figured that everybody would know that I was joking if I said bracelet and not monitor but no not at all which is actually kind of funnier really but there you know there were two jokes in that sentence but uh not everybody was going to get the one but anyway oh yeah it reminds me of that that the other joke I made about the smoking a whole carton of cigarettes I don't know how many cigarettes in are in a carton but I made a joke about smoking a whole carton of cigarettes and in one night and people didn't get that joke either so I I think I need to start adding a laugh track you like being near the coast desert girl yeah um uh the Central Coast is pretty nice so like Santa Cruz is really nice you'll get a little more sun it'll be a little warmer um down like the Morrow Bay Area Grover Beach area down there that that'll be a little warmer still a little more sun uh that's pretty nice down there um if you want you know vanlife friendly area I would say North you got to get North of San Francisco uh but you know it's it's friendly enough down south of s San Francisco oh thank you but um yeah I didn't like it this one actually has colors down here on the the white part down here is actually uh there's some LEDs in there but I I don't turn it on I think it'll do the same thing it like it'll do a little Rainbow effect if you want it but I just leave it off cuz I that was the one thing I didn't like about that mic well I shouldn't say that's the one thing that was the that was the the thing I didn't like most about that other mic was I wanted to be able to turn the rainbow off but I couldn't um so yeah the sound of it wasn't great either but this is a much better mic and the funny thing is this mic was half the price literally half the price I mean I get on sale but it was half the price of that other one this is a much better mic just made much better sounds better everything about it is better and I can turn off the LEDs well thank you Anthony at least you know at least some of you get the jokes at least although you know I may have to resort to a laugh track I think there's an old video where I actually I actually flashed up like joke or something that's an old one though that that one goes back like seven or eight years oh Modesto yeah that can get pretty hot I didn't know it'd get that cold in Mesto but okay oh hey thank you so much hey Bernie Ola well thank you for thank you for powering through that Harley and watching that old video some of those are pretty bad oh yes Flying Goat coffee there's a place here that sells Flying Goat um oh it's a uh the bread Place uh Brio they sell Flying Goat which I thought was funny I thought why why are they selling Flying Goat when there's there's coffee roters here in this County that they should be selling I mean flying goat's good it's just it's kind of odd that they're not selling humble coffee uh no I've have not been to Shore Acres and cous Bay Laura oh I don't know much about Contra Costa County Alexandra but I know it I know it'd be cooler here you if you if you can if you can get to Humble is definitely a better better place to be hey Taffy I'm doing all right thank you your ceiling Creeks yeah I I um I almost always sleep through the earthquake earthquakes I've you know ever since I was a kid I just don't ever seem to feel them I remember playing outside one time it's like the neighbor and and I don't know there was a few of us outside and I remember my mom coming out and like chucking chucking us and I'm thinking like what's going on you know and I'm looking around and it was there was an earthquake which she felt inside but we didn't notice outside but usually I'm sleeping through them for some reason well you like the yellow bird excellent I'm I'm glad to hear that every once in a while somebody says they tried it and they didn't like it at all so I'm always I'm always a little bit nervous when somebody says I tried Yellowbird thinking okay was it good was it bad I don't know hey Peter yeah I don't think I'll actually do the laugh track Joan but every once in a while I think I should yeah I do like Brio Bread um I haven't tried their calamada I don't buy it very often uh but I I actually got a couple of bad loves from the co-op which is usually my preference because it's a little bit less expensive uh and it's always been really good except for this year so I just went and got some at Brio and thought maybe I'll give the co-op a little time to get whatever is going on figured out I don't know if they've got somebody new working or what's going on there but so that i' give them a little time so I think the next loaf I get will go back to the co-op and hopefully it'll be better I didn't want to complain about it because you know they they have seems like they you know they're they're doing the best they can in there and they're usually pretty good uh no I I haven't Taffy I I don't touch dark roast anymore I I only drink light roast so it's uh yeah even if somebody recommends something to me if it's dark roast I'm just I'm not going to do it I just don't enjoy it sorry I've I've had plenty of burgers Calvin you know people get after me and tell me oh you eat terrible you eat terrible and it's like yeah you know I cook different when I'm Vlogging cuz like I've got you know cameras and microphones and lighting and all this stuff to do so you know Burger is easy to do but lately I've not been showing them on camera just because people get all crazy about my diet when they don't know what I eat because I eat different on days where I'm not recording something I Dom I I don't know what stealth is that's a dirty word so I don't I don't know in Maxwell House I you know I I don't know what Max house tastes like either so I don't know if I can answer that you're getting your van ready for Santa Cruz George awesome I hope that goes well for you you know you know spider I've I've asked my friends that work at Trader Joe's and they all tell me that Trader Joe's has has never sold Yellowbird so I don't know why you keep telling me this I don't I don't know I don't think Trader Joe's is ever going to sell Yellowbird oh you've got hundreds and humidity Barbara that's terrible it used to be I didn't like humidity but I could take the Heats but now I can't I can't do either one I'll try Michael I'm I'm glad to hear you like the longer videos they're they're difficult for me to do I had some issues going on with um with equipment and so I was doing some shorter ones but I'll be getting back to longer ones it seems to be what the majority of people like so thank you for mentioning that oh you found you found some small bottles of yellow bird 50 cents I saw them for a dollar when I was in one Walmart but um I don't think the Walmart here actually sells Yellowbird in Eureka I could be wrong but hello Susie well don't watch Eric that's that's the easiest way to do it if you don't like what I'm doing don't watch easy Simon Simon has two channels right um uh Ford Forest he's got lots of videos out oh I I know of me lady J I don't I don't mean to get you to to be buying stuff that's that's not why I it's not why I talk about these things but I'm as long as you like them I'm happy that that you like them but you know that's another one you know local uh local bread makers you know their profit margins are just razor thin so if you can help you know that's that's the best way to help a community hopefully it's all humorous right Barbara it's and people aren't getting offended and running away but um you know if somebody doesn't like me then they can just go away that's kind of my thought about it it's always funny when people tell me oh I'm I'm unsubscribing from you okay like I don't am I supposed to be mad about that is that why you're telling me that I don't know why people tell me the comments that they were that they were leaving they were answering some questions that other people were leaving in comments but yeah I just I really like them I think that they just have a just the way that they do their business um I like their product obviously but you know I just like the way they do their business there's a small business right there another small business yeah I don't know how I offended that person for not liking large businesses especially because I shop at large businesses too you're only drinking light Rose to uh Camp holic cool I know isn't that terrible that I'm not supporting multi-billion dollar companies actually Karen I I just dropped at Target so I'm you know there we go oh you know um that's cool a van CP you know the thing is if a pour over is working for you I say keep it and and do it because there's a lot of advantages with pourover coffee so I think uh you know don't Don't just run and get an Aeropress just because everybody else is doing it if you know if you're making good coffee then I think that's that's that's the most important thing for oh did you find some 99 cent yellow bird wax botic excellent $16 or $18 oh they do have some special ones they're like limited edition ones uh Karen uh I know I saw some at some REI always has some that are 16 bucks I haven't tried those I think they're like extra garlicky and I don't started their own company call it visible it's like half the price of regular Verizon but it's just it's just Verizon I think I'm paying less than half the price of of a of a regular Verizon you know an introvert so I do like my own time but you know half of the reason I went to to Seattle for that little while was to see friends and I spent a lot of time with friends there um it's it's different for the channel because I don't like to film people uh on my Vlogs and videos uh I go through Great Lengths not to film people like if you saw the video I did um not too long ago in uh Trinidad that video took a long time for me to record cuz I had to keep waiting for people to walk out of the shot or at least get far enough behind so that they like weren't visible you know there's visible again uh so yeah I'm I'm around people a lot and I leave my doors open a lot because I'm not stealthy I don't do that stealth thing because stealth doesn't exist so people come up and talk to me you know you know just strangers come up and talk to me so yeah I if anything I need more more time by myself I a lot of times I feel like I'm just I'd never have any real alone time because there's just always people around there's always people talking to me um yeah native times and travels there are some good areas and bad areas of Seattle if you if you go to West Seattle you're not really going to have any trouble um if you go not necessarily downtown downtown cleaned up quite a bit but uh there there's some areas near downtown that are are a little bit rough I am definitely looking for the cool down too Violet even though it's not that though it's not that warm I'm I'm waiting for some rain I want I want to see some rain oh interesting Amelia yeah yeah it's hard to get good quality tortillas that's that's why I I am kind of on the fence about getting a tortilla press just so I can make some corn tortillas plus I think I think they'd be easier to make them flower but I don't know buying another thing putting another thing in the van is not what I need to do right now oh your son is in Seattle yeah Seattle's one of the easiest large cities to park in uh but it it does get crowded is is the only thing if you go to West Seattle you won't have any trouble at all finding a place to park or anything not necessarily down in alai though when I say West Seattle people think I'm talking about alai alai gets really really tight it's hard to find a parking spot down there oh KS start school tomorrow okay oh interesting okay Karen it's different for every everywhere I see I don't know these things uh Daisy May I've been in my van eight and a half years as as of today it's it's uh eight and a half years oh they do throttle you Harley okay I've actually used up to three terabytes of data in a month unvisible without without any throttling whatsoever so that's that's one of the reasons I like uh visible is because you know you can just burn the data and they don't service here in the last year uh uh Verizon house so I've noticed places that I haven't had service in the past I've had this year so uh seems like it's getting better but I think technically T-Mobile has the best service of the big three well I guess the only three there's only three companies oh you got some fog and yahs awesome I might actually like to be there if if you know are allowed to be be there uh graphite I don't know that's just the way I do it I don't I wouldn't say it's better or not it's just that's just the way I do it I salt the pan and then uh put the meat in and I salt the make uh 12 quartz of hummus first thing in the morning at the restaurant that I worked at and then I had to make 12 quartz of hummus at the end of the day before I went home and after that I kind of I just kind of lost my taste for hummus I I'll eat it once in a while but it's just not my favorite thing anymore after after all of that oh I see what you're saying Karen yeah I okay campgrounds are empty well especially if kids are going back to school so I guess it would depend on that too a little bit but yeah I just hardly ever go camping anymore so I I don't really I don't really notice that kind of thing anymore 55 a month for straight talk huh so I have two plans on my two phones and one of them is 25 although I don't think you can get that plan anymore and the other is 35 uh they're both visible plans so you could save yourself a little bit of money if you want to switch and you know I'll give you I'll give you a code if you want it campaholic and I think we'll both get a discount somehow I don't know what it is right now but I think it's actually I think it could be $20 off your first month in my month if you want to if you want to code to switch to visible yeah the first thing I do is I stop at at Tim Hortons and get a couple cups of coffee just because it's Tim Horton's you have to it's a tradition I'm not I'm not saying I like it though but you know I tastes different so you got to go to Canada to try it um but it's not it's not great coffee it's very dark roasted so I mean I right off the bat I don't really care for that but I always have to put a lot of half and half in it it's just it's a it's a traditional thing for me Tim Horton is a tradition and I don't know how it started to be a tradition but it is oh cool Jen I hope you have a good actually be a good time to to wrap it up I I am drinking coffee Jason but I'm almost I'm almost out so I'm that's why I'm saying that it's it's probably that time and and Barbara's leaving so that's it's probably it's probably the good cue to to take off hey Chrissy how are you I think I think we should probably start winding it down it's 6:30 we've been on here for quite a while um and my trusted moderator who always does a fantastic job has just signed out so I I think it's that time um anyway thank you everybody I'm sorry for those of you who just have gotten here that we are just wrapping up uh these you know these live streams I don't do very often uh we save them for the occasional time like you know holidays but uh we we are getting into the holiday season so there will be another one soon probably uh whatever the next holiday is coming up uh so I want to thank you and everybody that left tips and super chats thank you so much that really helps uh it helps immensely in
