they they uh I think Colin would get to choose which day is my gut feel uh because they're the home game and they chose the Thursday which gives us less time off we were expecting the whole week off we back in training yesterday oh they chose that I think you get to choose maybe if have a save you have a save so they chose Thursday um yeah which is obviously if you win or lose then you get the longest break for the next game as well so it's not it's a smart idea I actually love coming um I'm on the other side of the the Burnley tunnel in Glenn Iris but over here is a beautiful little egg and bacon sausage egg and bacon McMuffin from hectors and every time I come over here I treat myself you just earn yourself $400 for saying that no but expecting a free sausage cheese MC muffin next time I got good man and you'll get one um so you've got the week off uh bod's feeling good all Australian team was announced I thought it was a real snub and I feel like it was directed that you were left out of the all Australian toam not even the squad uh not even the squad Max I got the night off this year um it's ridiculous uh look I've had some pretty poor games at the start of the year you cried um I cried oh you're soed when you I forgot about that turned the 12mon injury into 3 weeks yeah which was pretty amazing yeah which I should get some um you should get a Blazer correct uh but in terms of the two rcks that were in it they were um outstanding all who did they go with English and R Marshall I think English was the one who ended up getting the nod um yeah they've they've both been clinical this year so I can understand um the thought process you know who I blame Grandy you blame Grandy y I don't I don't yeah I blame myself ah that's cuz you're a captain um but it's not something I'm out there playing for um I've been lucky enough to get a few but uh in fact I'd much rather be playing in a qualifying final against Colwood this week well which you are um six all Australians two was Captain you get a Blazer just one as Captain uh no one Blazer six labels oh yeah of course on it yeah I was going to say your cover would be pretty full yeah that would get a bit out of hand that get a bit bit out of hand um yeah I've been to the last five two of them were Co so there was um when I was Captain I was actually it was a CO year so it was a little Zoom interview it was easy um now it's like a 5 hour night track was there for a long time the other night the guys have to fly from Interstate are there for 5 six hours it's a big it's a big night did he win anything track uh trying half forward for the fourth time um Toby green was named captain of the side Marcus bonon py and Tom Stewart became five five time all Australians which is a quite a small club from memory yeah not many the the record is eight who was eight there's about six players danger yeah danger won AB rashido I think Robert Harvey I was hoping you'd be handing them out I've still got hopefully another couple of years you never know you could make the eight Club um I do like Toby Captain um I think he performed as the best Captain this year um the best Captain's a hard thing I Al also that MVP award to best Captain it's very hard for an external person to pick best Captain because you're only really going on what they bring game day you're basically picking the best player um but from my say in saying that I think Toby does um have the spirit of a captain the way he plays Bon's probably um up there as well he got the players player he got the players player Zack b b's got coach's Player of the Year and Harry sheel rising star yeah yeah big big kn North and and S saki is that what it called s s silaki s yeah Nick suaki Nick silaki yeah oh ly yeah sorry Australian 70 goals 71 goals yeah had a massive year extraordinary in a team that won well we won this three games yeah second last can you give a bit of insight into the players voting system I imagine you as a footy fan know who you're voting for you give 321 for players Player of the Year 321 uh you da of about two rounds to go so if you're a late performer you might um you might have missed out um but I tend to I lean towards tools cuz I like tools I think I think TOS dominate the game unfortunately they've never won one so I don't think people lean my way I I voted for Brody for like four or five years in a in a row this year was Charlie kerer I thought Charlie kerer was the best part in the comp very fair um apparently the midfielders are better oh God they win a lot of stuff midfielders don't they yeah they do they Glory Boys but then someone was telling me when you get a group of old full forwards in a room the Swagger is just unbelievable you need Swagger to play full forward it's just full Swagger yeah Tom Tom McDonald just oozes it and when he was playing full back when you no you got too much Swagger for full that's why we moved him not because of the actual talent because of the Swagger you can imagine what it's like when dun walks into a room people would be like how's the Swagger dery dermy full of swagger full of swagger some of the the 80s and '90s full forwards there they they've still got Swagger yeah yeah yeah but no hips but still got Swagger does every player on your playing group vote with the same amount of care that you do or are they just is it like radio surveys is where that's where Will's heading have you been paid to do a survey and you just fill it out the last minute I can only speak for myself and I uh although some people see me as throwing votes because I'm giving it to tools but um no I I I think if you look through the past winners they've all been people that have finished top two top three in the brown though yeah so they normally get it right the players yeah Happy Father's Day Max thank you when's that Sunday Sunday's going to be great got anything planned uh I've just requested one thing I want one of those mugs which ones the world greatest dad you should get one of you should already have one that's all I want um how old are your kids K he'll be coming up to and the other one's negative three months negative three months um that's exciting mate um not as ex well that's more exciting than what's happening next Thursday just depends who you ask you know just to keep it all square uh Collingwood Melbourne Thursday night MCG holy doly strap yourself in it's going to be Monumental yeah it's a big game I've I've I think I've played into some big finals uh obviously they're over in Perth um and then we had two elimination finals in 2018 that were both 990,000 but I feel like conw just gives it that extra a little bit they they're louder um I think we had hon and jalong in those games so um it's going to be crazy hopefully every seat is taken can you hear anything in the middle of that thing with 90,000 people yeah you can it's actually there's not much difference I probably shouldn't be saying there's not much difference between 60 or 90 in my opinion like it's it's it's MCG is loud but like an opus oval that keeps the noise in is almost louder is that right it's more the the spectacle is pretty cool to to see a full Stadium um and don't get me wrong when it's a goal the margin in the fourth quarter it is pretty loud from a spectator's point of view it is wonderful to see a full MCG and it's it's worked out well for the AFL as well because it's Melbourne Collingwood tonight as well in in the AFL W yeah um which I'll be going to I'm I'm I'm excited Missy Higgins is there that's right is she playing yeah hopefully plays Scar because I don't know if there's no she's not playing football yeah she'd be handy I think she's actually performing her musical talents oh as like a season opener yes very good Missy yeah she's playing I hope she plays SC she can't play Bud special the special two no that's not what we I yeah that's that's SC this is SC the special two is cuz we're the special [Music] two I know that song as well sound so the D's could do the Prem ship double the D's could do um the Prem there's a there's an award for that the melen trophy is now a combined one and we won the first one but they said this is just a warmup and you're not actually getting paid for it next year's the first one so we this is actually the first one coming up this year um and I think the the girls are the Premiership favorite currently but there's obviously have a buddy game so I'm going to tip him though yeah nice um let's talk uh men's AFL Melbourne cing wood I haven't got any sort of there's no team lists or any of that gear is there little bit for the teams uh so anything we need to know are you going to leave here and tell somebody else something that you should be telling us well I actually had I had a press conference yesterday did you um so whatever I tell you now is better news than what they got good uh 24 hours ago tell us something um nothing's happened good look uh Bailey FR is obviously our one um he was in a moon boot the first couple of days post post the game he wasn't in a moon boot yesterday so he had a belter he come when he heard himself he was coming off the ground um and then he I thought that was done he came back on and kick three so I it must be okay if he come on and kick three did he hurt himself coming off the ground no he was I was actually coming on uh and this is a big swings and roundabouts moment because Bailey frit was the person H sorry Jake mam was supposed to come off of me right and then Bailey FR H himself so they switched and Bailey FR came off then Jake mam H his knee in the next conest isn't that terrible news for him so it's Bailey Richard's fault is what and his hair is his own fault as well um the Jake I'll get on Jake mam that's a terrible injury if you have a look at what he's done in his career obviously the ESS and Saga um take that for what you will and then um 2021 he missed out in finals uh he is in the form of his career he's about to play in a final series and he's out of contract at 32 when he does his knee and he's been pivotal this year yeah he's been especially when Bailey was out of the team yeah um he he really done a great role for us so he'll go around again won't he uh I called him the next day and he's a very mature guy and he was already talking about ja mam 2024 which is a really good mindset to have when you're missing out on potential finals for the second time he's ready to do the work in three years so that's that's a sad so so we got to pick someone to to come in for him you're not thinking of me no it's not what's popped up in my head cuz the way you were looking at me I thought you were half forward no whatever you need well we could do it for a half forward all right someone to um shut down the opposition best defender I'm going to need need a couple of days of heavy training we you have a kick one day these hamstrings don't kick anymore the kicking is over we are looking at Tom McDonald or Brody Grandy I dare say good well there's you know I mean they're not like for like but well they're both like the tall forward option um obviously Brody's the rck option as well um but Tom kicked five in the vfl Brody had three and 33 uh against the north reserves in the in in a they did a weird finals CL sort of thing no it was the they did the Wild Card finals round in the vfl oh in the vfl right and we were part of that so um yeah one of those two will play um let's just quickly go through these other qualifying finals um sat Friday uh 850 that one's an elimination final this one Carlton Sydney is an elimination final could the blues bow out in the first round of the finals after all the lids that have been thrown off pots around the country mhm well I mean uh most people are tipping card on in this game but Sydney can't be underestimated they didn't have papley against us and Pap's a very good player so I'm sure he'll come back in and they did win six or seven of the row coming into the game that we played them just on the weekend so they still angry from the Grand Final last year don't know don't know is that a thing are they wandering around I think if they were they might not have W seven in the row to play finals you know so that's a that's a pretty good effort to to win that many games to get in so I'm going to tip Calum but I think be closer than what a lot of people think oh I feel sick you all right I'm so nervous you be fine it's still seven days away I know I've got a lot of time to um feel nervous nervous I won't be watching is that going to be 95 as well you won't be watching absolutely not really you're not going to watch can you not watch L I cannot watch it's too Str the first Final in 10 years can you watch 10 or 15 minutes and get a feel for it that is what I do and then if they four goals up you're like okay I've bought a bit of time here to watch the second second quarter yeah if we're four goals down I can watch a drink if it's close my heart can't handle it that's all my mom does yeah my mom watches the first 10 minutes and can't watch any minute from then yeah so she hasn't seen a lot of your footage no no and I'm not quite a poor starter as well so she doesn't seen much good fo she thinks you suck that's terrible man um Brisbane Port qualifying final um that'll be an absolute belter yeah and I for some reason I've got in my head will I'm not sure if this is right but Porter good at the gabber um I can't remember their recent record we had feel like there was around 12 1222 game they belted Us in Adelaide round one this year okay by about 50 points but I reckon we won our last six or so before that I could be wrong then sorry I made that up so I'm going to go Brisbane then I would go brisban at the g y so what happens for brisban will what what's H land should the Lions win that they go straight to the prelim as would Collingwood or Melbourne Y and bruan would play the winner of Carlton Sydney and the loser of Collingwood Melbourne so D could be headed up there should you lose to Collingwood yeah there Collingwood Melvin or Cardon could be going to a preit together but the Gaba is not what it used to be because you had all that time up there in the hub we've we've played a lot of footy at the gabber they've won a lot of footy at the gabber yeah they're very good at the gabber there's um a big competitive advantage of a center Wicket undef faded up there this year yeah well I'm presuming they' be close to it be undefeated last year as well oh no we got we got you in the last game of the year five of their last 58 at the gab five of their last 58 that's incredible isn't it um we got a good MCG form this year we've lost one against Rio yeah right I'm out of about 13 or 14 games there so oh you only get 13 or 14 at the G Yeah couple of them are away games yeah yeah um and then we go St kilder gws with the newly named captain of the all Australian team Toby green leading the boys out and looking to roll St kilder out of the equation yeah I I think Giants win should that be at Marvel uh yes where is it is at the G no wouldn't have thought so Saints wanted the G am I right yeah I think the Saints then therefore it should be the G it should whoever Saints wherever Saints want to play if the G is free if the G is free find a spot and go for it Max so lovely to see you can I use that in my Captain's please I would love it if you did next we'll see you next week hopefully before the big one yeah 8:32
