2024 Fantasy Football Draft Yahoo Half PPR cash league

hi and you're back with another edition of the 3dxl podcast this is a special one folks Ray has got me on here to help him with the draft because I'm just so good at Fantasy Football right Ray yeah sure we'll go with that but yes welcome to a special edition of the 3dxl podcast uh this is a uh yes I want to thank D I did ask him if he want to help me do a $50 buying for a half PPR league and a draft is about to start so I have the eighth overall pick we'll see how this goes can you see what I'm saying by the way yep CMC is already gone all right so CC's gone see Lamb is gone hoping that I I sincerely doubt beon or Bryce is gonna fall so I'm thinking maybe Onan here or where would you go I'm hoping that BR Bree there's hopefully people don't like the Jets although I might yeah well there goes wow before Breeze wow disrespect there goes Bree oh no he's not he's still oh there he goes now there goes Bree let me oh [ __ ] that's not what I want to do so you got so it's going the way that the way that we figured it would go the way they fig figured it would go so so there's Jamar wow jamar's there it is half PPR though should we go with the I'm okay with reaching for Gibbs man I receiver has a [ __ ] ton of value [ __ ] ton of value but Jamar Chase is there yeah what do you think o you got Jamar Chase Taylor Wilson or Gibbs one of those four for me anyway tough choice Gibbs or chase o well you put it like this it's coming right back around to you so I might go with Chase and hope that Jamar gives his the all right there's Taylor I mean we could do hero um I mean there's some good running backs coming yeah I think that Gibbs will be there for you yeah so real quick the uh League settings here is it's one QB two receivers two running backs one tight end One Flex one kicker and defense and six bench and two IR but there's a strategy to the IR I kind of want to take advantage of that I don't think others will but we'll see how that plays out there are a bunch of platinum guys in your league so yeah there's like one diamond and five or four Platinum mean that these guys are a bunch of losers you know I was gonna say that but I didn't want to be a dick I'll say it but me being a former Diamond Player you know life came about you know it goes like your favorite receiver AJ Brown yeah Gary Wilson's on the board he won't be there I doubt it but if he is do you take him over gbbs I don't not in this league no no cuz I already have uh I already got my stud receiver there goes Barkley oh Henry's there too but I like Gibbs yeah me too he almost had a comeback on against my team last year yeah the allons aren't Henry's gone Gary Wilson is there though wow got got to take it got to take the running back they are flying off the board yeah they are and it's it gets pretty pretty ugly later on as deep kind of saw we did like a MOG draft earlier and uh there's a ton of ton of wide receiver like depth in the middle of the rounds there kind of kind of a joke um so now yes luckily I do have a little draft assistant thing that kind of shows who to draft here but um I don't know if you can see his but I like this here's a draft board does doesn't show us in there but I don't know if you guys can see that so it went wide receiver heavy on a half PPR league but I I did kind of contribute to that so let's see how it goes are you surprised Gary Wilson kind of lasted this long not in this particular League yeah for PPR everybody yeah because everybody's reaching for those um rybs yeah I'm surprised that nobody picked up Jamar Gibbs though yeah because I'm sorry I wouldn't win saquon the concern there is we tal I mean we we talked about this but just for recording purposes um the same concern I have for Barkley I have for um who the [ __ ] did I say was Barkley oh God I can't oh yeah and Jonathan Taylor I believe their quarterbacks will can vulture the touchdowns and it just drives me up a wall Cole's gone I think someone took Garrett at 16 people are really high on Marvin Harrison junor huh well they got the little munchkin there still got Devonte do you take Devon hn or Travis ATN I would reach for if hn is there I am [ __ ] doing goddamn back flips but I don't think he'll come back to me that's who I want Hen oh maybe Josh Shas but there was last week okay so while we're waiting here yesterday I had a a crazy draft ATN just get yep ATN is gone yeah Travis atn's gone um somehow I made it was a full PPR League it was a home League somehow I had the eighth pick like this one and somehow every Hill fell to me not only did he fall to me uh I believe I had [ __ ] if I can get my phone I know the [ __ ] can't remember as far as top of my head but damn where my phone go there is who I have all look at all the wide receivers still on the board yeah that's what I'm saying running backs are going quick so I'll be shocked if Devon aain comes back to me or Devon aain isn't uh AR you up next no no I still got a long way to go I got eighth pick to me so right now let's see H Chan recommended here drop board so he's got okay so we're looking the teams here so heavy zero RB here um or zero yeah and then RB here robust RB two teams went robust RB one guy here went that's a that's a death fan I'm kind of rooting for him after you now up there Theon J's gone now oh my God that oh oh that's a bit of a back breaker I mean so Jacobs here in third round late third we'll go with him yeah I think that they'll be good I think that he'll get a lot of touches yeah I agree uh who do he Target next to run so do we start looking at re quarterback Now you kind of think so right yeah at least try to get one of the big ones if you can yeah Josh Allen is there Jaylen Herz is there Patrick and Lamar are here get them of my man DJ Allen okay Charles Shon is gone Jaylen Herz is gone damn Lamar Jackson is there I want to snatch up a quarterback now all right so straight up I know I know the answer but for the recording you like better Lamar or Patrick Mahomes Lamar I agree you think you think this might go the same strategy we did during the mock and you know what I'm talking about the strategy that we had the the the redo turnaround I'm not worried about wide receiver but here I'm a little bit more worried about R stre here this is probably gonna be running back heavy there's Mike Evans this guy this man is drafted in the 2017 [ __ ] team Jesus Christ Travis Kelsey Mike Evans oh God some dusty ass running backs so there goes Joe Mixon uh Rashard white I think um they reach enough for people because they had Choice yeah think gets kind of ugly holy [ __ ] maybe he just realized it's half PPR yeah I think that they that was a mistake I'm kind of happy so far with this draft so Jamar if you told me I was going to get Jamar Chase and Joe or Jamar Gibbs like I'd be pretty happy and then Josh Gibs I mean Jacobs feels kind of be like a bit of a reach but I feel more comfortable with him as opposed to guys like Mixon or Rashard white or I mean Ken the Walker's okay damn that guy got a good one for [ __ ] Jaylen W though holy [ __ ] all right so cook is gone D they're reaching for quarterbacks or running backs now they have no choice they took all them damn um wide receivers so three or backs go this if this guy drops another [ __ ] receiver he's out of his mind I'm gonna guess probably quarterback H or running back cuz went three quarterbacks straight in a row and I'm surprised that didn't trigger them uh so we'll focus on the next one coming back so who do you like on the turnaround Gand if he's there like in just like we did in the um like I told you the only reason I don't like neighbors is because of um who's throwing him the ball that's the only reason like I don't think that Daniel Jones I chimra I think still has a little bit something left in him um it's just ter Carr and then they have t some healing that [ __ ] like bro just [ __ ] [Music] dumb so if DJ Moore is still there I don't think or or Devonte Smith is there we risk it and wait for wait did or Andrew is still there there's chance Andrew might come back to us I mean he definitely should come back what is it to be four picks on the uh yeah yeah he should definitely come back if DJ Moore is there man DJ Moore is my second receiver I'd be pretty [ __ ] Happ I mean Moore or Devonte Smith I'd be fine with Malik neighbors I'll be fine with how about DK medov or Tech mom about tari Cooper didn't have um deshaan Watson throwing on the ball I'd be like uh take himari yeah I like Amari Cooper well famous James is the backup I like Amari has a wide receiver if he was still on if he was still in um Whatchamacallit I'd say pick him he was in Dallas but this guy's taking his time why is he taking so long Takota is the brother you got okay we're coming up next here that's not a bad pick M so more and Devonte I don't think I mean I could see him getting another receiver maybe he might get a receiver but they need running back this guy needs running back or quarterback or quarterback tight end so we may get lucky between Moore or Devonte who do you like better well there goes DJ Moore Devonte is there neighbors is there tank Dell is there Devonte might not be there Rashid rice is there I could I could I can definitely uh snatch him up if you can get Devon Smith and um Mark Andrews I'd like that combination Assuming he's there yeah wonder when they're going to start going for quarterbacks I think only four have been taken so far yeah five actually there goes D well this [ __ ] taking his Time come on brother Str went High Higgins is gone wow so Smith Andrews and Rashid rice do you risk it for the biscuit do you take Devon Smith and then hope that Mark Angels comes around I think he will be there I like him I just don't think that Whatchamacallit throw the ball is a safe bet who the um Whatchamacallit oh uh you talking about neighbors so so State your case as far as why why neighbors is being like heavily heavily like like touted by a lot of like experts but you're saying that's a mistake I think that he's a good he's a great player I think that he's with the right quarterback he's I look at you know me you've known me for a while I look at who's throwing the ball it takes a special special uh wide receiver to still do something with crap throwing him the ball you know yeah I mean Daniel Jones We've watched Daniel Jones throw interception after interception after interception if he's throw interceptions how you getting the ball so I mean and he hasn't looked good I even showed you an interview with s d near just laugh laughed at him and couldn't answer the question so that's my own thing against neighbors it's just like it's saying okay Zack WL Zack Wilson is the starting quarterback I'm gonna pick his wide receiver why would you do that you get what I'm saying yeah like it's no knock on the wide receiver is more of a knock on who's throwing him the ball and I I I don't think Daniel Jones was a good quarterback you mean he had that one good season that got him paid what hases he sense I mean yeah so if I'm going if I'mma go with a player it's going to be a safer bet that you know he's going to actually get the ball when the quarterback throws it so we're coming up next here so Montgomery is gone Cooper's gone neighbors got picked damn a lot of receivers there at the end so there's a lot there's a ton of value of wide receivers this is why I was okay with getting running backs or priori toing running backs because there's so much good Valley there yeah and there's still some Great Valley now if you can just pick up Mark Andrews he' really be good yeah I feel good about him man tank Dell's gone and take Andrews nice is he a tight end very very strong solid start um I like this team so far but yeah we have Lamar Gibbs Jacobs Chase Devonte Smith Mark Andrews showing injured but he got in a car accident but he's good he's a white boy he got be all right H CD lamb has reached an agreement four years 136 million oh yeah so 8 million ass signing bonuses let me see so here is the draft from last night and this is going to shock a lot of people because I could not believe the [ __ ] that was happening um and I was and I showed you the team and you were like who the [ __ ] was drafting yeah bro I don't know who's in your league yeah so here's a draft that went by round so my team okay my team overall from last night's home League this is a work League I have my first pick was CI lamb I had the number one pick overall keep in mind cidi lamb came back around I I got Travis ZN I wanted um I was hoping Kiren would fall down but he didn't but I got Travis ZN and and on the turn around I got Devon aain uh then it came back Jaylen W was there drafted him then on a turn on the fifth pick I got Jaylen Herz then he came back around I drafted Z flowers and a turn on I got Rashid rice then he came back to me I got T Higgins in the eighth round in the ninth round I got gandre Swift then he came back to me I had uh DeAndre Hopkins and turn around I got Blake horn then he came back to me I had Nick chub and took Dalton Schultz cuz I had no tight end and then I uh finally came back to me got Trevor Trevor Lawrence and TJ hackinson there's two IR spots so immediately I put TJ hackinson and Nick chub on ir and I'm picking up JK Dobbins and the Saints defense who was JK Dobbins playing for this year anyway he's playing for the Chargers oh okay oh yeah he should get burned because if they lose their their running back Ian that gu hurt yeah man he was he was complaining about getting a [ __ ] contract before he started and like he felt like he deserved the contract and I was like I don't know if you done enough brother and you look like you got a bad whe on you I was kind of hesitant too so I don't blame the Ravens for not paying him and they made unfortunately the Ravens of the franchise made the right decision to not pay him and now he's pretty much damaged goods but I don't know I mean good luck to him I hope he tears it up oh never mind I hope I hope he does well I'll say that so we only have a flex spot left so we have a flex kicker and defense say again that's why those football players got to get that money while they can all that goes for she rice godd damn it yeah I got Scary Terry what about Randi Stevenson and between because I want to get another running back I feel like Raheem I'm more comfortable or be more confident that he would do well as opposed to Stevenson or Naji or I could pick up one of these guys here a lot of it I think it's because aan gets hurt how do you feel about you feel about mcen are going for running back though um well we need a flex spot so do you put running back at Flex or wide receiver I think it's the best player available here yeah I was about to say you can always find somebody to put in the flex spot but running backs are premium in this league so if you can get a good one who's going to get you some points at some point you can oh you can throw him in a flex spot you know yeah that's what I'm thinking I feel like I think I'm I agree with you as far as like should we aim for running back here because there's a ton of wide receiver Deb but I I think I'm going to go with running back here question is who like I said I like moster I'm not a you know I'm not a dolphins fan but yeah hate the dolphins with what makes sense hn did get hurt a couple of times last year and rimos did put up some good numbers when he was out I go Stevens is gone look got the uh quick javante Williams is there Brian Robinson Jr is there dein single T is there I will say that last year Devonte Williams did get me quite a few points and I will Le well you know what let me see what it says here terms of running backs says mcen is the best one and I like mcen buto Samir white [ __ ] no uh God no I would either go muren or Williams here Devon around time I'm go with muren yeah those what those would be the two that I would go for oh mclen is mclen in the eighth round is kind of crazy okay I'm gonna javante uh single ter I think I told you before I think single ter is gonna get some good Burn yeah I think he's good good play because I don't think I don't think that they're gonna trust Daniel Jones to throw the ball a lot and I think that single Terry is going to get the ball he's going to be running the ball quite a bit the one crazy thing well I think I know why like as far as like U Austin gone of the days of Austin eky being in the first round um because he doesn't have the check down King AKA Justin Herber throwing it to him but he's kind of low he's kind of a I mean Brian Robson gets hurt ecka gets he's the guy right or am I crazy he not crazy but does he really get hurt all that often no you know what I think mcloren would probably been is a better play cuz like I only have Chase and Devin de Devonte Smith so I'm I'm kind of happy with this lineup so far uh draft board so looking at overall let's see how the Jets guys doing Bree Hall Garett Wilson Deo Mixon medca Diggs Stevenson K Murray no tight end but wait a minute he's kind of over wait wait am I tripping he's going to need a tight endend pretty soon he's the he's the only guy in here yeah he's the only guy that does not have a tight end I don't know who's left on the board that he can pick um and joku was good when uh whatam caller was was the quarterback clo yeah hell yeah I should have played him over [ __ ] um Travis Kelce I mean but come on like you know and you know what's remember when we would I was talking about it and I said you know what with Joe flacko playing with Joe Flaco throwing him the ball I should play um in Joker we both said H you go with your if I'm Ling signal ter but there are some running backs uh that I do like that are actually um like like I mean chub is here too man man you there are two IR spots and I can kind of put them on ir and pick up another running back that's a strategy I can also go with and if anything he's my fourth best running back or fifth best running back if you know what I mean oh yeah and I know that we're late uh because if kyen Williams goes down he is the [ __ ] guy he becomes the new Devon Chan uh where wide receiver you have Godwin Jaden Reed Jon SM Jimma jsn Brian Thomas the new guy they drafted for Jacksonville Christian Watson Xavier worthy Hollywood Brown Jordan Addison DeAndre Hopkins more Jameson Williams tar Lockett lad mcon Romeo dobs Curtis Samuel CLE Shakur Keenan Coleman as far as the guy they drafted for Buffalo Josh Palmer Mike Williams Josh DS DTE wigs Brandon Cooks there's just so much depth at wide receiver like it's not even close I hope you and D would have picked all the Jets in the finals who else did he pick let me see too bad he didn't pick Aaron Rogers then I have really liked them but Rogers ain't getting you no running yard so that'd be a sick ass combo though I have Rogers to Garrett or Breeze although I'm kind of curious why he did what he did because you got Garrett Debo and DK Meda and Stefan Diggs and Stephenson like he really kind of screwed himself over in his depth he did it wrong is what I'm saying because now he has to make a decision between medca or Diggs or Stevenson and the flex that's just too much where he could have gotten a better quarterback back or a better tight end and you end up with K I mean granted K Murray is fine but this is like it's two receivers not three and only one Flex not two so this would have made more sense if you had like DraftKings uh settings like three running back I'm sorry two running backs three receivers tight end Flex that would made more sense but this doesn't make sense oh [ __ ] I'm back who to go with uh [Music] Robinson I like Jen re man he's the top guy in my opinion here as my 10th pick overall any objections no definitely over [ __ ] Watson or Brill dos J was a [ __ ] monster in fantasy bro in DFS for sure goes big [ __ ] Brock so got three bench spots left and one kicker one defense left so now it's time to go for some upside who do you think is going to do better this year as far as like overall fantasy or a bigger impact for the Chiefs Hollywood brown or Xavier Woody are don't care I don't at that point to be honest with you cuz he spreads the ball around a lot yeah so it could be a ton of people just because he spreads the ball around so much who else needs what here damn this guy [ __ ] wood feathers like I I like the Ravens but not this [ __ ] high Aaron Rogers is gonna have an MVP type season this year uh trying to think of who else I'm sorry I'm not a a black party believer um who do you expect to come out of the NFC for the Super Bowl sure before he was a Raven true and they also take one of the best left left tackles when he's healthy yep um then they drafted a tackle it's just a matter of uh Rogers can stay healthy and doesn't start reach for by the way too my my advice for drafting is don't be don't be scared by drafting by in terms of by weeks like if you have three players on the same bye don't let it deter you get like get the valley get the plays cuz the season can change drastically your team can be look different halfway through the season you get injuries can happen wave wires can happen trades can happen so don't be afraid to do that um it's getting kind of ugly now where do you like to draft defenses or or kickers like when do you feel comfortable taking them really do Leagues that have kickers this this league has a kickers is these people have not these are the same weirdos that still play [ __ ] standard Leagues with no no points per reception but I that to me honestly if it if I'm picking an elite defense once I feel comfortable with most of my team so probably around the eighth and Ninth round I'll probably pick a defense because I want to try to get I wanton an elite defense because I guess like it was like last year I once I picked the Jets defense the Jets defense had 104 points at least three times this last year that's big you know yeah like people don't like to pick defense but defense is a an elite defense can really really be a tone Setter for you or just get you those extra points that you need where you wait too long you get a shitty defense [ __ ] get you negative points because I remember when the Jets had a buy or before I picked the Jets up um somebody I can't remember what team it was it had like negative points I was like oh [ __ ] dehop yep number one guy there he's my uh one two three four fifth best receiver not a big fan of dehop still like him he's just getting old he is but I he'll look good on my bench uh did you see what that that people are not uh talking highly of what's his name um the dude that they that the Titans picked up I think I put it in the Discord when they traded AJ Brown what is his name oh uh Trey Burks yeah ton Burks yeah boy I remember a lot of jets fans wanted him [Music] um I know you said your argument about as far as defenses um my argument for defens is way your the last two picks you should have are kickers and defense you should focus on bolstering up your team to have dep because as I said earlier injuries can happen and having depth can prevent you from getting completely like like out in the cold as far as your season being done if you have depth you should be fine but um to me I feel my strategy is going to be a little bit different I'm okay with not drafting a defense or a kicker because it doesn't [ __ ] matter kickers are so volatile it doesn't matter defenses are a little more easier to predict I'm a believer of streaming defenses because of matchups every week has a different matchups because certain players get injured they get hurt you have a mid to okay defense going against a really shitty quarterback like a I like an aocc like Aiden mcconell or got like think like like DeShawn Watson or James Winston in a bad matchup and bad weather I'm okay with picking up say like a Saints defense or uh the Chargers in bad weather like where he's prone to make mistakes picks possibly like uh a pick six or some sort or sack fumble return touchdown something like that um I'm okay with streaming defenses I think those are easier to predict and you can kind of go by based off matchups and that's something you can do a lot of people that play daily fantasy sports know that so usually more t players do that that's my strategy like but I agree with d if you can get an elite defense like a ners defense or the Cowboys or the Jets go for it if they're available but you kind of have to pick high for them like look at this guy who huh s like what you said last year when we were talking about it um you when we were talking you were like well the league is usually one and lost on the waiver wire which was true because most of my good players came from the waiver wire but that jet like I said that Jets defense for me last year where when it was close the difference was that the Jets had a ton of points and that's what put me over the edge so that's the only reason why I say an elite defense that's why I made sure that I said Elite so I'm talking yeah like I said the 49ers the Jets the Ravens an elite defense who's gonna hold the team to like yeah Cowboys teams that are going to hold I mean defense that are going to hold team to like 18 points you know that are going to get interceptions that are going to get sacks going to get fumbles gonna block punts and stuff like that and kicks those defenses you pick to me and this is just my opinion I'm not a big fantasy player like that but I'm gonna pick them early because they do make a difference like I'm not I'm not gonna go out and pick the [ __ ] Carolina Panthers defense you know really high or the Saints defense super high but if it's an elite defense who I know is going to be top five yeah I'm going to pick them early because that's they're going to get as much points as a bench player yeah damn that's crazy TI of locket still here like I can guarantee you that a good defense is going to get as many points as at least four people on your bench yeah I mean I'm not um not against anything you said was just I think you can kind of like it's easy to predict like yeah yes you can kind of anticipate really really top Elite defense the problem is you have to kind of sometimes reach for them like some guy drafted the Ravens in the ninth round that's insane but like if you get Cabos in a 12th round maybe late 11th round the Jets sure yeah I wouldn't I probably wouldn't have drafted the Baltimore Ravens that high and maybe maybe the 49ers no I no that's what I said maybe but I probably wouldn't May especially in this league see you got to remember I play for free yeah so I'm not it's not costing me any money to go in there and just have fun I play for money yeah I know I'm like I think I think it's more important to get some Lottery have like a problem I mean I guess me and how many millions of American men like like Jesus hey I'm not talking about a bunch of American men I'm talking about
