MARKET IS MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT ON FORMER PRISONER IN. WE BEGIN IN CLEAR LAKE WHERE 4,000 PEOPLE ARE UNDER EVACUATION ORDERS PLAYING OUT IN SAN FRANCISCO. DESTROYED AT LEAST 30 BUILDINGS ALONG WITH 40-50 VEHICLES OF THE FIRST CALL ON THE FIRE CAME AFTER 2:00 THERE AFTERNOON. WHAT BEGAN AS A BRUSH FIRE SPREAD TO WELL OVER 90 ACRES. 4,000 PEOPLE RUSHED FROM EVACUATION ZONES, FIREFIGHTERS SAY THAT WEATHER CONDITIONS MADE IT TOUGH TO HELP THE EVACUEES. >> WE HAD 10 MILE-AN-HOUR WINDS, WE AT ONE POINT IN TIME, SOME OF THE AREAS WE HAD 500 FOOT FLAME LENGTHS, WHEN THE FIRES BURNED, THEY, THEY PUT OFF WHAT THEY REFER AS EMBER CASTING, THERE WAS A NEW SPOT FIRE. NOT A STRAIGHT LINE TO GET FROM POINT A TO POINT B., A CHALLENGE JUST TO GET THE PEOPLE EVACUATED. >> FIRE HIT A TRANSMISSION LINE. SCHOOLS AND THE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL WITHOUT ELECTRICITY TONIGHT. OFFICIALS SAY THEY ARE HAVING TO USE THEIR BACK UP GENERATORS. >> Reporter: ABOUT 30 STRUCTURES WERE BURNED DURING THIS FIRE. TAKING A WALK DOWN 18TH AVENUE IT APPEARS MANY OF THOSE WERE HOMES. AND EVEN MORE WERE VEHICLES, OVER HERE IS ONE OF THOSE VEHICLES. THEY SAY, ABOUT 40-50 WERE DESTROYED. THIS ONE, ABSOLUTELY DESECRATED. IT HAS ASH ON IT AND THE WINDOWS ARE BLOWN OUT. ANOTHER LAKE COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVASTATED BY A FIRE. THIS TIME, IT IS CLEAR LAKE. THE FIRE SPREAD 76 ACRES WITH EMBERS FLYING INTO COMMUNITIES DESTROYING PEOPLE'S HOMES. >> IT LANDS IN THE RIGHT SPOT YOU CAN LOSE EVERYTHING IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. >> Reporter: HE WAS AT HOME ON SUNDAY MORNING WHEN HE GOT AN ALERT ON HIS PHONE ABOUT THE FIRE YOU >> DON'T REALLY THINK MUCH OF IT UNTIL WE STEPPED OUTSIDE AND YOU SAW HOW MUCH SMOKE THERE WAS IN THE AIR. HOW DARK IT WAS, AND THE ORANGE FLAMES. >> Reporter: WITH THE WINDS HE KNEW IT WAS TIME TO GO. >> I GATHERED MY MOST IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS, MY FAMILY AND WE TOOK OFF. >> Reporter: IN THE EVENING HE CAME BACK TO FIND THE BEST CASE SCENARIO, HIS HOME WAS OKAY. >> JUST A LITTLE BIT OF FIRE-RETARDANT WHICH, I DON'T MIND AT ALL. YOU KNOW. MY HOUSE IS STILL STANDING AND FOUR HOUSES, FIVE HOUSES DOWN THE STREET ARE BURNT DOWN TO ASHES. >> ONE OF THOSE HOUSES IMPACTED BELONGS TO THIS FAMILY. >> MY HOUSE IS DOWN T. IS BURNED. NO MORE HOUSE. >> Reporter: FIREFIGHTERS WERE STILL WORKING ON HIS LOT MAKING SURE ALL OF THE FIRE IS OUT. BUT ALL THAT IS LEFT BEHIND IS RUBBLE. THE GOOD NEWS, HE AND HIS FAMILY ARE SAFE. HE LIVED IN THE HOME FOR 25 YEARS. HE SAYS IT FELT LIKE A PART OF HIS FAMILY AND HE IS STRUGGLING WITH THE LOSS. >> HOW ARE YOU FEELING NOW? >> WOW, VERY BAD. >> Reporter: BUT FOR GUTIERREZ HE IS FEELING RELIEVED AND GRATEFUL HE WILL BE SPENDING THE NIGHT AT HOME. >> MY ENTIRE FAMILY IS STILL WITH ME AND WE ARE BACK AT THE PLACE WE CALL HOME.
