PHILLIES SWEEP THE NATIONALS!! KODY CLEMENS IS CLUTCH!! PITCHING STAYS RED HOT!!

e [Music] what's going on everybody welcome back into TTP Sports and that's another Series win that's another series sweep for your fighting Phils they sweep the Washington Nationals more wins in the column like what more can you ask bunch of you know the first two games were close they definitely were they came down to the wire came down to the nail especially in game two down to your final out Cody Clemens up at the plate against finnean and Cody Clemens comes up clutch he delivers he ties the game with a solo shot and then Gregory stto has a scoreless top of the 10th inning which no one was expecting at all and you win the game in the bottom of the 10th inning thanks to productive outs JT moves over roas who was on second base as the ghost Runner and then Bryce Harper brings him home with a sack fly and then for you know basically Friday's game Zack Wheeler was really good you manufactured some runs and your Bullpen shut it down from there and then for today's game Aaron NOA was solid he did give up two home runs he didn't give up that many hits he walked one guy three times he allowed two home runs he went seven innings in this game only gave a three- earn runs so I'll take that any day from ainola and then basically s Dominguez he had some trouble in his inning but he got out of it then turnbow allowed a couple of runs in the ninth but your offense absolutely exploded in the later stages of this game Cody Clemens with two doubles in this game Alec bow keeps driving in RB's Bryce Harper drives in rbi's Nick ctios drives in some runs the offense was clicking on all cylinders in Sunday's finale where the offense really wasn't doing that much the first two games and you do got to give some credit to the Washington Nationals they got some good pitching they got a good starting rotation they got some good arms there in the bullpen but thankfully the Phillies are just that much better of a team they have that much better of pitching they have that much better of a lineup way better of a lineup and they sweep a team that they should beat and you know they won a series already yesterday in clutch fashion and the sweep today was just basically the icing on the cake and that was the most basically important thing right there and you get an off day tomorrow before you play the Texas Rangers uh this week in Philadelphia Tuesday to Thursday so hey much needed off day tomorrow always helps get as many off days as you can get and we run it from there basically you know this team just keeps winning they just keep winning they lose a game they win two straight they lose a game they win three straight four straight five straight this team keeps winning it's what they're doing it's what they're doing I believe today was their what 34th win of the Season they're 34 and 14 they're 20 games above 500 great stuff great stuff pitching is you know clicking the rotation that is and the bullpen and the lineup when you need the lineup to produce the lineup will produce and that's basically what the rest of be of the first two games just keep yourselves involved and the offense will eventually put some runs on the board that was the recipe for Saturday's win and you know Bryson sto ties the game with a home run he also drove in an RBI on a force out and didn't get the Cody Clemens you know clutches ever you know Cody Clemens is really making an argument for you know when Trey Turner eventually comes back Cody Clemens is really making an argument for him to not get sent down because right now he he is just producing and yes obviously he's not going to be batting like this the entire season and you know he's not going to always beat this clutch at hitting this many home runs and extra base hits but you know Cody Clemens had a very fantastic spring training he was the odd guy out because he did have the options to be sent down to Triple A and you know it's definitely going to be a very tough decision for Rob Thompson and Dave D Browski on what to do when Trey Turner comes back now that's still you know up in the air because we don't know what the Taiwan Walker situation is if he's good to go for his next start it does sound like he'll will be good to go for his next start so we just have to wait and see and what what else happens when Trey Turner comes back do you DFA someone do you maybe remove someone from the bullpen do you you know here's the question do you do something with marfield that's a question it definitely is excuse me there Jesus Christ I felt that coming along the past couple of minutes but that definitely is a very big question mark to have what do you do when Trey Turner comes back because Cody Clemens does not deserve to be sent down that's the one thing right there Cody Clemens does not deserve to be sent down because he is playing some fantastic ball you know basically since being called back up and it's fun it's fun watching Cody do his thing right now and like I said it's not going to last the entirety you know he's eventually going to come back down the Earth but you know I'll take what he's given us right now and that is some clutchness off of the bench some very very clutch things so if we go into the first few games of this series so we go in the Friday's game Phillies win that one by a score of four to2 Zack Wheeler he goes seven in the third Innings he goes into the eighth inning gets one out that eventually comes out of the ball game Hoffman and Alvarado do their job they only pitch 10 throw 10 pitches each to get out of their respective Innings uh in terms of the Run scoring in that game Philly's got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning Alec with a two out RBI double which scored JT Ruto put the Phillies up one to nothing Phillies added a couple of more runs in the bottom of the second inning Brandon Marsh and edmundo Sosa leted off the inning getting on base then a force out by roas moved the runners over Marsh scored on a wild pitch and then schwarber drove in a run with an RBI ground out made it a three to1 game there the Nationals they scored in the top of the second off of an RBI double but then the Phillies retook the lead and then basic Ally in the bottom of the third inning the Phillies scored their last run thanks to a Brandon Marsh two out RBI double makes it 4 to1 Phillies Zack Wheeler continues to do his thing he does allow a run in the top of the fifth with two outs on a Rosario double makes it four to2 but that basically is it from n the Phillies that the offense definitely went quiet in the last uh stages of the game they went a lot of one two threes but the pitching did their job so basically bottom of the fifth inning one two three inning top of the sixth one two three bottom of the sixth one two three uh top of the seven for one two three bottom of the seven for one two three top of the E wheeler gets the one out then Alvarado gets the next two out so basically a one two3 inning a one two three inning for for the uh Phillies in the bottom of the E and then a and then a basically after a one- out double by Joey Gallow in the ninth basically retired the side there for uh Jeff Hoffman to close out the game and uh get the save that's also some very good stuff right there I apologize my just opened up my door and he came into my room so that means he is hungry so basically after this stream is over I'm going to be feeding cats because no one else is around to feed them so but hey if you look at the lineup right now uh for Friday's game Philly's uh Kyle schwarber he went 0 for four with a with an RBI the RBI ground out JT went one for four Bryce went 0 for four Alec bow one for four but an RBI Bryson stop one for three I believe he got hit by a pitch as well Nanos he went 0 for two uh Brandon Marsh one for two with a walk in in RBI edmundo Soso one for three and then Johan roas 0 for three Phillies went one for five with Runners and scoring position uh Zack Wheeler seven in the third Innings three hits two earn runs three walks six strikeouts did some very good stuff here espe you know like I said I I expected Zach whe to bounce back from his start against the Miami Marlins he definitely at that tfold and he pitched really good on Friday and that resulted in a 4 to2 Phillies win win on Friday if we go to yesterday's ball game it was crazy stuff I was there so Phillies wi 4 to3 Christopher Sanchez he went seven innings in this ball game he definitely got into some trouble basically you know he allowed base runners in every inning but he managed to get out of those situations so good on Christopher Sanchez to do that as my cat just jumped onto the desk coat he is probably going to make an appearance on the stream right now what are you doing Gizmo why G do you with a single Vargas with a single Maness is with an RBI single goes up one- nothing then a double play then a strikeout gets Christopher Sanchez out of the top of the first inning Gizmo you can't Philly's offense definitely went a little quiet to start last night's ball game definitely they struggled a little bit against McKenzie Gore uh Christopher Sanchez allowing some base runners gets out of those jams thank to some double plays uh Phillies do tie the ball game up in the bottom of the fourth inning thanks to the Bryson St you know RBI double play basically but the Nationals they did respond in the top of the fifth inning with a two- out single by Abrams to give the NAT a two to one lead Phillies go down one two three a couple of times you know double plays here and there the that'ss eventually you know they don't go to the bullpen yet so McKenzie gory comes out for the bottom of the fifth inning Bryson side up a bat and you get the 3-1 count and he sends one into the first row ties the ball game up at two Bryson stock continues to be on fire and we are tied at two going into the eigh Matt Str comes out 4 the8th he allows a two-out double but then he continues to be electric as he retires this side there no harm done bottom of the E for the Phillies they did have a chance to win the ball game basically here in the bottom of the E roas would a lead off single schwarber he he did advance on a pickoff error uh to Short Stop So schwarber lined out to AB JT reached on an infield single because ABS was trying to do too much Harper had a terrible aat yet in that sequence he did strike out on a very bad at bat then Alec bow lined out to right field so that was definitely a missed opportunity Ryan kiring comes on for the top of the nin in to try to get it to the bottom of the ninth tide uh he gets one out then he allows a single to Abrams no Adam Adams he allows a single too and then Gallow gets hit by a pitch Rosario he grounds into a fielder's Choice which should have been a double play it should have been a double play but Bryson stot took his time and not allowed Rosario to get up the first Baseline stot fielded the ball himself instead of handing it off to Cody Clemens so he can throw with the first basee Bryson stot took it himself ran the second base then threw it the first and Bryson stot was taking his time during that point so instead of ending in double play it becomes two outs Runners on first and third Jesse Wier comes up first pitch he sees he hits a single up the midddle and then Nats get a 3-2 lead lead so yeah I was kind of pissed in that moment because it should have been an ending ended double play and that was a difference between possibly losing the game and possibly going into the bottom of the knife tied so that was the difference right there but thankfully thankfully thankfully bottom of the ninth inning two outs after stot and C's ground out which I was basically talking to myself okay they're probably going to lose this game in that type of fashion but Cody gets a one pitch right down the middle of the plate crushes it crushes at the right center field goes into the stands Citizens Bank Park goes crazy ties the ball game up at three Philly's going to Extra Innings March Marsh did reach on a Fielding error by Eddie Rosario in right field it was a basically a line drive went in and out of the glove of Rosario Mar should have been on second base but he stayed at first base because I'm assuming he thought it was going to be an automatic out but then nothing really happened because rell's grounded out top of the 10th inning Gregory SoDo comes on with the ghost Runner gets a strike out gets a ground out which keeps the runner at second base grounded out to Alec B and then manages to strike out Joey Maness is to end the inning scoreless with the ghost Runner was not expecting that from Gregory SoDo bottom of the 10th inning schwarber gets intentionally walked with the ghost Runner so first and second no outs for JT he flies at the center field roas tags up go to third base Bryce har ER Works in his at bat against finnean one-w count puts Bat on Ball drives at the left center field deep enough to score the Run Phillies win the ball game there on the sack fly so you found a way to win that in the clutch which was fantastic lineup wise Kyle schwarber he went 0 for one with four walks so he walked a lot in last night's ball game JT Roo goes one for five Bryce Harper one for four with an RBI Alec bone one for four Bryson stot one for four with an RBI I guess doesn't get an RBI on the ground out maybe so I guess he didn't get one there but he should have two RBI on on the night Nic castiano so for four edmundo Soso went 0 for two then Cody Clemens came into the ball game and went two for two with the game tying solo shot in a knife uh Christian Pache went over for two then Marsh came in went 0 for two Johan roas went one for four Phillies went one for eight with runners in scoring position seven Runners left on base so they did struggle against the Nationals pitching in last night's ball game but still found a way to get the win Christopher Sanchez he started off sloppy but once again in true Christopher Sanchez fashion he found a way to settle in and give the Phillies some length he went seven Innings eight hits allowed two ear in runs zero walks and eight strikeouts on 92 pitches so hey 69 strikes there good uh you know good stuff there from Christopher Sanchez Matt Strom electric has ever still has not allowed a single run since opening weekend kiring I blame that more on stot than kiring he did a lot the base runners but Bryson stot should have made that play for the inning in the double play I blame that more on stat but kirking one inning two hits one ear run one strikeout 24 pitches and then Gregory stto two strikeouts in the 10th on 11 pitches does his job there and the Phillies get that win go to today's ball game Aron NOA on the bump wasn't as good as the complete game but he gave the Phillies length which was the most important thing there once again I believe all Phillies pitchers wi at least seven innings in this weekend Series so that is always nice to see Aron NOA he went seven Innings two hits three runs two of those earned three walks five strikeouts and 101 pitches there has he already drops to 3.05 and some good stuff yeah cfany goes into the eighth inning allows a hit in a walk but manages to get out of it and then Spencer turnball not sure if he's adjusting to the bullpen currently his last two games definitely haven't been the best the one against the Mets and the one tonight so I guess it is an adjustment period for Spencer turnbo so we're just going have to wait and see how it plays out uh he does allow two runs four hits one strikeout 24 pitches there so we're just going to have to wait and see but if we look throughout this entire ball game Phillies do get on the board first in the bottom of the second inning Cody Clemens with a double then Nick ctios drives him home at an RBI single makes it one- nothing Phillies Phillies make it two nothing on an Alec bom sacrifice fly they get two singles by stot and Harper stock goes to third on the Harper single then bom drives him home Nationals tie the ball game up in the top of the fourth inning uh varcas reaches in on first base off of a mistake by Bryce Harper where he probably should have let Cody Clemens field the ball and then throw with the Aeron NOA Bryce Harper takes it himself maybe overplays it a little bit and then he kind of Miss through with to aerona at first base which allowed the runner to be safe and then Rosario somehow hit that home run to tie the ball game up I have no idea how he hit that pitch it was very yay inside I have no idea how he was able to drive that ball out so the ball game is tied and then top of the fifth Jesse Winker hits a solo shot puts the NS up three to2 Phillies then respond in the bottom of the fifth inning and they responded they did Kyle schwarber walks then the Nationals go to the bullpen Bryson stot walks Harper singles loads the bases up Alec bone with a sacrific fly ties the ball game up Nats go to the bullpen once again bringing a lefty to face Cody Clemens double with two strikes scores two runs great stuff from Cody Clemens and then Nanos with an RBI single drives in another run makes it six to3 so great stuff there by the Phillies get a six to3 lead and at that point I knew they were winning the ball game it was just a matter of when bottom of the sixth inning Phillies tack onto the lead once again they get a couple of base runners on after roas and schwarber get on base stock grounds out which allows the runners to move the second and third and then Bryce Harper hits a double first pitch drives in a couple of runs makes it eight to three then in the bottom of the eighth inning Phillies continue to add on to the lead lead off walks by roas and schwarber and then Alec bom two run shot Absolut a three-run shot absolutely murdered this ball that ball was hit at a Stratosphere the pimp job by Alec bom fantastic stuff I believe he's over 40 RBI so far on the season he's on Pace for like 130 plus RBI so a little thing to note there for Mr Alec bone Phillies go up 11 to three and then you know Spencer turnbow allows Those runs in the ninth inning Phillies went 11 to five looking at the lineup for today's ball game Kyle schwarber he goes 0 for two three runs scored and three walks so he walked four times yesterday I believe it was and then he walked so he walked seven times in the past couple of games so he is getting on base he definitely only has Bryson St in the two- hole goes one for two Bryce Harper three for five with two RB's Alec po one for three with two sack flies and a three-run shot so we had four five RB on the day Cody Clemens two for five with two rbi's Nick costos he was three for four with two RBI so this is the Nick cosano game before he goes quiet again Brandon Marshall was one for three with walk Garrett stubs over for two and then Johan roas one for three Phillies went six for 14 with runners in scoring position Phillies keep winning man they keep winning 20 games above 500 34 and4 they keep winning now there's a day off tomorrow before they play against the Texas Rangers I also have in the background the game seven of the Pacers and the Knicks looks like the third quarter just started when I tuned into the game the Pacers were were winning by 20 now the Knicks looked like they just cut that down to 12 because the Knicks went on a little bit of a run at the end of the half and it looks like they're on fire right now to start the uh third quarter I I said to myself the P Pacers are probably going to blow this most likely would be that chance you know when I turn on the game that's probably going to happen that would probably be the case so yeah that's just my luck so uh yeah I hate New York I hate New York but uh yeah some great stuff here from your phills if we look at the standings right now Philly's got a little bit of a cushion they're four and a half games up on the Atlanta Braves the Braves didn't play last night I played a double header today against the Padres so we'll see how those two games go uh Phillies 34 and 13 the Braves are 26 and 15 some good stuff here boys Phillies have won three in a row every time they lose they respond that with a winning streak so just keep on keeping on just keep on keeping on everything is clicking when the offense doesn't really do much the pitching keeps them involved for the offense to eventually get some runs home and then when sometimes may the pitching isn't the best the offense scores a bunch of runs for them so basically everything is going well for them right now and it's very fun it's very fun very very very very fun another sweep another Series win they haven't lost a series since the second series of the entire season against Cincinnati Reds when they lost those first two series of the season it's been either Series win series split or series sweep great stuff great stuff here they just keep finding ways boys they just keep finding ways and it's fun and it's fun and I Al I I thought this series was going to be a little tough going into it just because the Nationals they had good pitching they had good pitching their B Pen's been really good this year their starting rotation been really good the only the only reason I knew the Phillies were going to beat this Washington team because their offense wasn't good their lineup was not good their lineup was not good at all and you know their lineup was really struggling and the Phillies took care of that they took you know took advantage of that the offense like I like I keep saying the P all the pitching has to do is keep your offense involved when the offense is having a quiet game just keep him involved whether that's you know keeping the game tied whether that's you know one run or two-run deficit just keep your team involved and then eventually the offense will probably have a spark in them to drive some runs home and eventually that'll be a difference in the ball game and that's exactly what the pitching has been doing it's been fantastic it's been absolutely fantastic cannot complain if you're finding ways to complain about this you need to think about your life in my honest opinion you need to think about your life just my opinion just my opinion on all that just is I don't think there's anything else in regards to postgame stuff in terms of Rob Thompson I don't think there is not that I've seen so yeah keep looking at the schedule upcoming basically for the fills so they have a day off tomorrow obviously and then they'll play three games against the Texas Rangers reing World Series champions it'll be Rangers Suarez against looks like that is uh John Gray he is two- one with a 2.08 ER then it will be tyon Walker going up against Andrew Heeney he is 0 and5 with a 4.43 ER and then on Thursday it'll be Zack Wheeler going up against Jose urania he is a relief pitcher so I'm assuming that is going to be and it looks like he's been stretched out into a starter so we'll see what happens there Jose ARA I'm not expecting much from him and then the Phillies day after this three- game series against Texas they go in the west coast until Memorial Day they play the Rockies and then they play the Giants before they come back home once again so great stuff here great stuff Jesus goddamn sneezes yeah it looks like the uh Pacers are now only leading by 11 and they just got blocked once again so the refs are keeping their whistles quiet let's see what the Knicks are doing they put up a three and D venzo hits it yeah the Pacers were obviously going to blow this one just what's going to happen just what was going to happen let's see can they put anything no that is out of bounds that you know the starting pitching is excellent every night it seems and you know debrowski is GNA add to that Bullpen you know I the the kid from Oakland's name has popped up a lot if they could somehow land a Mason Miller look out but you know everybody on down from schwarber getting walks to Harper to bom to guys like ad Mundo Sosa Cody Clemens I won't say Garrett stubs as far as swinging the bat but at least the way he's handling the pitching staff I mean you're getting contributions from everybody they have a confidence they have a bit of a swag the way they're going about their business and if the team makes a mistake against them the Phillies are making them pay for it great job yeah th this team has a chip on their shoulder right they're playing with a huge chip on their shoulder they knew what happened last year against the Diamondbacks shouldn't have happened they shouldn't have choked that game six and seven at Citizens Bank Park against the Diamondbacks the Diamondbacks were not that good of a team and their record right now is showing that especially for the Diamondbacks this year that was a series that the Phillies should have won they should have went to the World Series to play against the Texas Rangers that would have been a much better World Series performance than what you know Rangers sweeping Arizona that would have been a much better World Series the Phillies than the Texas and I feel like the philes were were able to hold up against Texas they just choked and that's the bottom line and they have a chip on their shoulder saying we're not letting that [ __ ] happen again we're going to get back there we're going to get the job done we're going to go to the World Series and we're going to [ __ ] win a World Series that that's the goal for this year that's the me I'm sure they have that somewhere plastered in the clubhouse like the reminder of last year the pain they felt last year after having it in their hands and letting it slip they felt that pain and now they have a job to do and they're damn well trying to get that job done and just right now running through the league it's from the pitching to the offense right now everything is clicking this is the best team in baseball right now it just is they're the best team in baseball right now and yes they're playing easy teams on their schedule granted there's not that many good teams in baseball there really just isn't there are very few teams that are in the position that the philli are you could really just put the Dodgers and maybe the Braves there probably the Braves there there's really not that many teams in that position where the Phillies are and the Phillies right now they're one of the best teams in baseball and they're taking care of business literally every series they're playing yeah granted they're playing against below 500 teams can't do you can't help that good teams take care of business against the teams that they're supposed to be that's the bottom line that is the bottom line take care of business and that's what you're doing and you're getting contributions from everywhere it's fun stuff man it's fun stuff just keep winning your games just keep finding ways to win your games now yeah it'll be a tough Series against the Texas Rangers you know they're an above 500 opponent I believe if I'm not mistaken and yeah they got some good pitching they got good guys in their lineup so yeah they're the reigning world series champions it's going to be a tough matchup no 100% they're 24 and 24 so they're not above 500 they're exactly 500 so yeah we'll see they're three and seven in their last 10 so maybe we're catching Texas at the right time so we'll wait and see what happens in terms of the Braves are they playing today or are they doing something here did the Braves play earlier I'm trying to see I don't think they play do they play a double header today I'm not entirely sure do they play a double header today no it does not look like it does it not look like it at all don't think they are don't think okay they're playing a double header on Monday it looks like okay yeah they're playing a double header on Monday so okay good thing I I think he'll settle into the bullpen nicely I I just think he's adjusting to it and we just got to wait until he adjusts to it that's basically it there uh we lacked some on defense we measure up with the offense and the bad heating up I I think our defense is way better than what it's showcasing bom's been fantastic over at third yeah Bryce Harper had a lacking play at first base today Bryce Harper has been a very good Defender over at first Bryson St I believe is a good Defender sometimes he just messes up on his throws that's basically what it is there Marsh is a good Defender out in left field roas should be a better Defender out in center field and casos is casianos you also have Pache on the bench to provide some good defense out there as well so I'm not worried about the defense and the slightest JT is also a really good defensive catcher so and you also have a gold glove caliber pitcher in Ranger Suarez even though Zack Wheeler did win the Gold Glove last year so technically you got two Gold Club calar uh pitchers so I'm not worried about the defense that's my least concerned thing I guess it's probably their weakest part of the dream but I don't think it's that bad in my opinion Phillies play Milwaukee in early June and some better team oh yeah obviously the teams are going to get better well well San Diego I don't count we swept San Diego earlier in the year so I'm not worried about the Padres uh Boston yeah Boston has some really good pitching we do play Baltimore I know that we play do we I think we play in Baltimore so yeah the Phillies are definitely going to be seeing some tougher teams but like over the course of the rest of yeah they're going to play tougher teams but I still just think overall there's not that many good teams in baseball so hey you could you don't control what you get in the schedule you just play the games that are in front of you and that's the Phillies are doing they're just winning their games that's basically just it from there H can't do anything about it but they are doing something about it actually they're winning games they're winning games so yeah let's look at that June schedule just to see the difference here in the terms of teams that they are playing yeah I think Walker is making his next start it from the sound of Rob Thompson it does sound like he's making his next start uh so let's go into the June schedule so basically after Memorial Day you go on that West Coast trip you start June with the St Louis Cardinals then you play the Milwaukee Brewers then you go to London to the Mets then you play three in Boston three in Baltimore three at home against San Diego three against Arizona three at on the road against Detroit hello gizell hello he event he he made appearance on the stream he did he's hungry Gizmo I'm reading off the Philly schedule get out of my face please and now he's rubbing everywhere uh yeah yeah giz move move move he's on he's currently under the camera right now that there goes town so they play three in Detroit then three four at home against Miami the close out the month of June and then basically to close out the rest of the first half before the All-Star break they play three in Chicago against the Cubs three in Atlanta so yeah their schedule going into the allstar break is definitely tougher they play three against the Cubs three on the road against Atlanta three at home against the Dodgers and then they play three at home against Oakland so yeah I I speaking of Oakland I do sha did bring up Mason Miller that reliever from Oakland the guy that's like pumping like a 103 104 105 I don't think the Phillies are going to be able to afford him just because he has a lot of years of control left on his contract I believe he has like three four years left off control so that's going to go a lot of gigantic return for him it's just the fact the Phillies are not going to be able to afford that they're they'll probably go they'll definitely go after some Bullpen arms definitely look out for guys like Michael copc like reliever you know relievers that could fit the back end of the bullpen or fit you know like another Matt strm type of role I I do think they'll go after maybe some backend middle reliever type of guys and maybe like I said another strong role I do think they'll probably go after another bench bat but who knows maybe Dave dski has another big has a big trade deadline in him and he goes after someone I did I did mention Kyle Tucker the other day but I'm not sure if Houston's gonna eventually stay that bad for that long so it's basically just a wait and see process there but you know we'll see we'll see we'll see uh I think that'll do it for tonight everybody I do appreciate you all tuning
