Amazon's new office at The post in Vancouver expected to help revitalize downtown core

it's more than an office it's a place in the community that I think is really going to energize the local uh business environment while also creating a super exciting place to work we're getting a look at Amazon's new office housed inside the historic Canada postprocessing Facility in Vancouver on Thursday the unveiling of a 43,000 ft Atrium the centerpiece of the project and a collaborative space for employees the process of creating this facility has already had a positive impact on the local local job market through the wide range of jobs that were created in the construction sector and it will now enable other new Great Tech opportunities creates opportunity it creates jobs it creates tax revenues that we can fund other incredible programs for and so you guys are making a huge difference there are around 4500 Amazon staff across the city 2,000 inside this Flagship downtown office and there are quite a few perks when it comes to working here if you need a change of scenery from your desk you can come up to the outdoor basketball court you can go to the dog park where you can actually register your dog to work alongside you there's an outdoor Garden space and a barbecue area the post office now turned Amazon Hub is expected to help Revitalize the downtown with a boost to the local economy in a post-pandemic era where many are still working from home when people come here guess what there's more activity on the streets um our restaurants are full there's a buzz it actually creates a safer environment as well and um there's just a huge Snowball Effect Amazon is the sole corporate tenant at the post with its 1.1 million square ft of office space including the new Atrium connecting a 21 floor South Tower and 22 floor North Tower Amazon completed its move into the South Tower earlier this year while the North Tower is on track to open in 2026 in Vancouver Kate Walker City news
