REGION COMING UP LATER IN THE WEEK THAT IS IN NEXT WEATHER IN A FEW MINUTES. >>> NEW DEVELOPMENTS COMING OUT OF THE STATE FAIRGROUNDS THIS MORNING WE ARE WAITING A NEWS CONFERENCE WITH GOVERNOR TIM WALZ AT 11 AM TO DISCUSS LAST NIGHT'S SHOOTING. STAFFERS SAY THIS ALL HAPPENED AFTER 10 PM LAST NIGHT THAT THE ENTRANCE OF THE MIDWAY FIRST RESPONDERS SAY THAT ONE PERSON WAS SHOT, THE FAIR WAS EVACUATED AT 10:20 PM THAT'S ABOUT 40 MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING. >> GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE. ATTENTION EVERYONE THE FAIR IS CLOSING MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE EXIT. >> AT THE TIME OF THE GUNSHOT THE AREA WAS FILLED WITH GUESTS AND A LARGE CONTINGENT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT. ST. PAUL FIRE EVENTUALLY FOUND THE VICTIM TOOK THE VICTIM TO THE HOSPITAL AND THEY ARE EXPECTED TO SURVIVE AS WE WAIT THE GOVERNOR'S PRESS CONFERENCE WE CAN TELL YOU THAT HE TWEETED THAT THERE WOULD BE MORE LAW ENFORCEMENT WORKING THE FAIRGROUNDS TODAY. BEFORE THIS INCIDENT WE WERE TOLD THAT 200 OFFICERS FROM 55 AGENCIES ACROSS THE STATE ARE PATROLLING THE FAIRGROUNDS THIS YEAR. METAL DETECTORS ARE AT THE ENTRANCES AND THERE ARE SECURITY CAMERAS IF YOU HAVE BEEN OUT THERE YOU HAVE SEEN THEM FOR YOURSELF, DETECTORS WERE JUST ADDED THIS PAST YEAR FOR THE FIRST TIME. LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE ALREADY AT THE FAIR THIS MORNING WE TALKED TO ONE MAN WHO IS ALSO THERE LAST NIGHT. >> WE GOT OVER BY THE BLUE BARN AND WE SAW A FLOOD OF PEOPLE RUNNING I THOUGHT IT WAS A BUNCH OF KIDS CHASING EACH OTHER UNTIL I SAW A WHOLE FLOOD OF PEOPLE SO WHEN THAT HAPPENED I ASKED AN ELDERLY COUPLE THAT WERE TRYING TO RUN AS FAST AS THEY COULD AND THEY SAID THERE WAS SHOTS FIRED SO WE WENT TO A COUPLE OF HER FRIENDS OVER ON THE WEST END. AND WE JUST HID THERE FOR A WHILE. THERE WAS A SECOND FLOOD OF PEOPLE RUNNING I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THE SECOND ONE. >> IT IS PRETTY SCARY, EVERYONE WANTS TO COME AND HAVE FUN. BUT YOU KNOW COMING HERE FEELING LIKE YOU HAVE TO BE AWARE OF EVERYTHING AROUND YOU IT IS NOT A GOOD FEELING. BUT I THINK TODAY WILL BE EXTRA SAFE SINCE LIKE IT HAPPENED YESTERDAY AND I FEEL LIKE THERE WILL BE MORE POLICE OFFICERS AROUND. >> I FELT LIKE A LITTLE WORRIED AT THE SAME TIME THE PRECAUTIONS WE WILL TAKE TODAY IS PROBABLY MAYBE NOT OR LEAVE A LITTLE BIT EARLIER. THE KING ABOUT STAYING FOR THE JAYHAWKS BUT MAYBE WE WILL NOT STAY AS LONG. OTHERWISE I THINK THE SECURITY WAS IMPROVED THIS MORNING. THEY CHECKED OUR BAGS MORE THOROUGHLY. SO I FEEL COMFORTABLE BEING HERE. >> NOW THERE IS NO WORD ON AN ARREST YET WE WILL STAY ON TOP OF THIS YOU CAN TRUST
