the NHL trade activity the 24 NHL draft continues to be very very busy in this video we have four more significant trades to talk about including John Marino Kevin Hayes Tanner Jano and Logan Thompson all that coming up next so welcome back to another video here at topshelf hockey as I mentioned we continue to get tons of trade activity in day two of the 2024 NHL draft the trades are just going fast and furious has been tough to keep up uh these trades are significant in their own right but I thought it would be easier just to do one video just to get everything caught up here we've already had Beck binstein traded to the Sabres this morning from Washington and we've already had a significant deal as well with Tampa trading M sergachev to Utah those videos are on the channel plus we had all the latest rumors before the draft got going here today as well uh and now we have all this so with Utah not only trading for Mel cev to make another big splash traing for another defenseman this one on the right side from the New Jersey Devils John marino marino was rumored to be on the Move uh cuz the Devils want to shake up their blue line or rumored to be one of the top suitors for right shot defenseman Brett pesy in free agency there is some uh believe they also have interest in former jet Defender Brendan Dylan and we'll see what they do in free agency around those two spots but Marino goes to Utah so Utah now have cev and Marino that could very well be their top pair possibly of course Marino has three years on his contract at 4.4 million uh he goes with a 2024 fifth round pick and exchange for pick number 49 and a 2025 second rounder so Utah continues to make a big splash here acquiring their second top four defenseman here of the day of course they also have Shawn dery and they did move out JJ Moser in the sergachev deal so their blue line is going to look a lot different next year uh we saw Tampa in La doing lots of chatting in a finally consumated the deal of course LA's had some interest in Tanner Jano for some time and that trade's finally taken place so Tampa continues to clear money here it's believe they're also not only looking at signing Stam Coast but they're very heavy into the Jake gensel possibility as well so look for that here in the coming days we'll see what they end up doing uh but Tanner Jano goes to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for pick 118 in the 24 draft and a 25 second rounder so la adds a gritty forward things never really worked out for Jano and Tampa after they paid a ton of picks to the Predators to get him and then we had a pick a player in a pick going from St Louis here Kevin Hayes traded again this time he's traded from St Louis to Pittsburgh along with a second round pick as basically an incentive here and Pittsburgh gets future considerations going back to St Louis so uh Pittsburgh basically gets a free second rounder for taking on the remainder of Kevin Haye so curious if he stays there will they consider a buyo I wonder what they're going to do there there um obviously it's a way for Kyle DWIs and Pittsburgh to add a draft pick I wonder what their plans are for Hayes uh Vegas trades a gold Thunder no surprise both their goalies have been in the rumor mill for a while here um but this is not what I expected to see happen I'm a little surprised but Logan Thompson is traded to Washington uh Washington picks up Thompson from uh Vegas golden knights for a 24 third rounder and a 25 third rounder so a pair of third round picks goes to Vegas for Goldie Logan Thompson look looks like they'll stick with Aiden Hill Thompson signed for under a million dollars can certainly run in tandem with Charlie lingren I thought the capitals may have uh more of an opportunity given for Hunter Shepard I know he's a bit of a late bloomer like Thompson is in a sense but at the same time uh we'll see obviously Thompson's have been a pretty good goalie maybe create some competition they both have contracts that can be buried in the miners not that I think Thompson would be but we'll see what else the capitals end up doing here at the end of the day it's been a very busy time and it's going to continue so stay tuned we'll keep you up to date with all the trade activity and all the rumors flying around for the 2024 NHL draft uh so we'll be back here later with more so stay tuned I'll keep you up to date thanks for watching I'll count you next time [Music]
