Episode #255 ~ Steve Spurrier

[Applause] thank you [Applause] [Music] another newly noted podcast comes to you from the coaches podcast room as furrier's Gridiron Grill and celebration point okay welcome be back with you uh I've got a long story of why we didn't do a show Thursday you the story I gave you which was a legitimate story turned out not to be true so but I I will get to that uh later in the show uh we'll do a show today with Coach spur he'll be in here and then on Thursday for Friday so Friday it'll be airing uh Tim Brando is going to join us can't wait to talk to him he's got a lot of opinions as you know and then uh and then no show on July 4th I mean we're gonna honor our country and uh you know so no show on July 4th and you know then we'll be back we'll be back on what that'll be July 6th we would be back so we'll be back in uh we that may be the day we can get Greg Sankey or Todd gold I know both those guys kind of owe me so I think I'm gonna get one of them on that day all right let us get to the starting five and I I did I'm I'm gonna go after some people for some advertising here guys and you know I'm not starving we we all know that I'm trying to get people just to be part of this and keep it going uh you know how it is uh but uh we'll see what happens uh with the starting five I think the starting five is the best way to advertise right you know I was looking at our hits the other day got 30 000 hits that's twice the circulation of the Gainesville Sun so advertising now I would never say anything bad about the Gainesville Sun I am just stating facts all right let's get to the starting five number one uh obviously it ended with a dud we all know that it was not great it was uh go to bed worthy it was turn the TV off worthy I I have no problem with anybody who uh did that I did it it just got ugly uh quickly and uh you know there a lot of people are going to question uh Sully for putting caglione in there to start the game and I'm like what you mean like he had started every Friday game or every uh Sunday game you know every third game for Florida all year no that's what you do I mean that's he's your guy he he did look bad earlier and I we all took it as he had I think it was 19 days he hadn't pitched going into that game because he pitched the first game against FAMU didn't pitch in the regional um and then didn't pitch in the super region so um I mean he picture the result against FAMU but they didn't pitch they didn't pitch again so by the time they got here uh he had pitched and I thought maybe that was the reason he was a little bit off but turned out and that wasn't the reason maybe it is just this basic cags has a big heart and that thing gets pumping and he is a sophomore in college maybe and and again we're talking about the all-time home run hitter at the University of Florida and really got close to the record of all time when they were having nuclear bats and steroids were allowed which was set by Brandon Larson at 40. I I have no problem with Jack caglione there's a reason my family went to Omaha that that is the reason uh but uh I I the the moment was too big for him and it was too big for him because he just gets so emotional and I love that about him and you know what he's got to figure a way to harness it and I'll I can't wait to see it when he does uh I love that kid love all those guys uh it was still it was hard you know you you never you I mean we've never seen anything like 24 4 and then 18 to 4. no maybe in a softball tournament when some when more Warren Motors was beating up on people back in the old days um but it was just weird and again I I believe this um the the the final series was lost on Saturday when that ball could have been another foot higher the Gators would have won it's just one of those breaks that don't go your way and again even in even in this game the breaks didn't go their way Rivera how is that interference you step on first base the ball is not on first base yet there is no way that's interference and I don't care what the letter of the law says on that get rid of the letter law I mean this is what we always see well the rule is if you blah blah well that's a dumb rule so change the rule uh but but again has nothing to do with look a officiating umpiring in college baseball is miserable it is just pathetic but that's not why you win and lose games you might win or lose one game on one play and you can argue it but the bottom line is as I always say play around the umpires because they're not going to be good they're not good on the major league level I mean uh we all know that but in college they really aren't very good and just have to deal with it you have to play around it you have to figure it out that's my rant for the day uh the bottom line though Florida's starter struggle that was it they their starters just didn't pitch well and uh if they had they'd have been a better shape but I mean I Sprout was okay Waldrop obviously just didn't feel it out there for whatever reason and cags you know couldn't go uh that was what killed them and then they got deep into the bullpen maybe deeper than they wanted to go I mean they had a plan you know and it would have worked um but it just didn't work out uh number two on the uh starting five uh they had a bad day um all right number two you have to give LSU credit that's a very good baseball team don't forget peeps I'm sure you haven't but LSU was number one when the season started they had the most talent in the country playing for caglione Rivera whoever all these guys are the most Talent is in Baton Rouge and they went through a little slump and as Florida did and came out of it and were awesome that's a great baseball team and give them credit for this they dominated Omaha like they always do and I got I did get some emails from people saying what why am I at a bar and there are no Florida fans but it's packed with LSU fans I'm like it's just the way it is I can't really explain it uh I will say this and and this may come up Gator fans yeah I'm trying to I'm trying not to say this the wrong way um the gator nation is not everywhere okay because you know where it's not it's not in Omaha it there are people there but that doesn't mean the gator nation is everywhere it's not at the SEC basketball tournament it's not everywhere okay that's all I'm gonna say about that so this whole we love the games everybody watches it and I had six people I had six people in my family that went and I give them credit yeah I wouldn't want them but six people went and man that was a lot of people and uh anyway I got a story about that later but and it it give LSU credit they they stormed the town they take it over they're they're having a great time and they win seven times they've won you got to give them credit at some point um all right uh and I I didn't like the Karen did get exposed to what I was trying to tell her but that is I had three reasons why I didn't go to Omaha Karen and Kelsey just got it in their minds they were going okay uh so I had three reasons I said one I've been there eight times I'm good I like Omaha I think it's a really nice town in fact my daughter I used to talk to her a little while ago and she said you know that she really loves Omaha and she gets she gets why LSU people like going there um you know it may not be what you're looking for but if you're looking for a place with some really good restaurants and a lot of drinking Omaha is your town I can tell you that from experience um but I that was one number one number two was that uh that we had dog issues and it's complicated but we the people we wanted to watch it we we couldn't get them to watch it so we had a dog issue we also had a guy who was going to come to our floors but we decided to push that back and if we could push that back then would Pat come and I said I don't want to be around those LSU fans what's LSU won that that clinched the College World Series for me I wasn't going there's no way but I've been around them and it's not fun um anyway all right number three on uh I'm going a little late I'm starting five uh number three uh it was a great season and don't forget that don't forget that it was a great season okay this was uh they won uh the most games in in school history we have so many moments if they put together a highlight tape of all the great things that happened this year it would go 15 minutes um but look ever this is a problem with college sports or NFL sports or anything um one team gets to celebrate at the end you know what and and the further you go sometimes the more it hurts we'll talk to coach Sperry about that later uh but it certainly was a great year all the records that were set you know all the amazing things that happened it was fun and and I think what the further you get away from this team the more you'll realize how much fun it was this team made my wife and daughter go to Omaha okay they made them go unbelievable all right uh number four uh I was talking to Sully and I'm not going to say this out loud but yeah you might have told me something that was really interesting about the portal he I can tell you this story this part of the story last year he called me I was sitting at no Paul no Paul uh by Citron over there and uh on 43rd Street 34th Street sorry I was sitting there and he called we were talking for a while and he was talking about me and I just didn't get the portal and I've I've talked about this before and so he he struggled with the portal and now now he's got it figured out and now he's gonna be the king of the portal he's going to be the lane kiffin of college baseball he's going to do what a lot of coaches have done in the past here and there I mean he's going hard it's going to be interesting that is going to be really fun in the off season to see how that all works out they already got a huge bat from Alabama whose Name Escapes me but I know he hit 25 homers last year so that's really good now I see that uh Chase Burns is in the portal the hard thrower from Tennessee was their clothes are very good that's all I'm saying all right and then number five it's important that we all know this to yesterday Tuesday well Tuesday the Monday what's today Monday was the last day of college sports until August so late August too by the way which is a better than late September uh which is what it used to be but it was the first or the last game it was they'll be played in this in any kind of sport unless you want to count like pickleball or something but it's going to be a real dearth of information and I I know it is because today as I'm driving in two guys are talking at length at length about MBA trades that haven't happened yet so it's going to be a long summer we're going to have fun with it though I promise you that I promise you we're gonna have a blast we're gonna do some fun things we're gonna have some polls and get you guys to vote on them in fact I made I may do a thing where I do a poll and I put it up there and I go hey you can only you know answer this if you're uh listen to another Billy node podcast hey stick streaming services and heck even chicken wings well there is one necessity that shouldn't cost a ton taking care of yourself and helping fix all the aches and pains in life and the fine folks at Titan MRI agree with costs a fraction of what you'd pay at a hospital you'll not only save money you'll be taken care of by staff with over 20 years experience so when you need an MRI call Titan first and you can go where your doctors send their families now offering CAT scans okay and welcome back to another duly noted podcast presented by Titan MRI from the Melbourne long Gator Studios as always joined by coach Spurrier uh and and again he's brought to you by Melton law and Coach I know you know what it's like to have a championship game where you get drilled yeah and how you come back from that you know is is a key yeah I started thought about the Nebraska game we got clobbered in 95 and then came back the next year and won another sec and got some breaks along the way and won the National Championship but uh yeah it was this it was a shame we didn't play a good game our pitchers I don't know what happened our picture but man we just could not throw the ball over the plate and hit some guys and all those runs they got there and what was it second or third inning something like that yeah yeah I mean they didn't earn Hardy any of them but they did hit the ball where we weren't and that's Baseball hit it where they ain't whoever said dad is so true and it seems like our line drives were right at them or whatever but uh it was great year I mean finished second in the nation that's not that's not shabby at all uh our gymnastics ladies did the same thing they had like a super so anyway uh LSU played well they played the best in the final game and uh and they're the Champs is there I mean you can can you use that as uh fuel for the next year coming back I mean you can have a different group coming back but you still have the core oh I think you start uh one goal at a time obviously when baseball season starts we we want to win the SEC and the team with the best record is called the SEC champ and we won that this year and then you want to win the region super reads so you go step at a time uh and then hopefully your team gets stronger as the season goes along uh but maybe that helped us a little bit our defense we just got run over by Nebraska of course they ran over almost everybody there yeah and just a lot of bad things happen in that game Quincy Green Split did a split and got his hip knocked out a joint uh another defensive player got hurt on the only kickoff and we even had a booster and had a heart attack right before the game really in Phoenix yeah they right before kickoff as all the Medics were down there and uh so it was a bad night and it was a bad uh night for Gator baseball but uh you know try to learn from it and try to do it next year yeah it's not easy to do and again you're you're competing against 17 000 LSU fans too and that's the thing LSU loves their baseball I I think the LA uh baseball's number two at LSU I I think here it's probably basketball but I'm not sure about that but um you know they love their baseball and they support it so they drowned out the Gator fans and that's that's an issue for you you know yeah they do love baseball at LSU they love all the sports you got to give uh the new A.D Woodward yeah you know it brought uh Kelly in Brian Kelly and football brought in uh lady basketball coach she was at the game yeah I saw her and uh I did see her and they that's a new baseball coach in the second year second year uh Jay Johnson I think she's saying yep so he he's hired all three of them in the major sports uh men's basketball they got a new guy well they do now yeah they got the guy from is it Murray State I think they got and they they had they struggled they brought in the whole they had to bring in an entire transfer portal um for their team so they were definitely be in line to win the uh yeah all SEC sport trophy next year uh but Tennessee what did this year did the second so they're not they're not a whole lot better they're better uh basketball in football than we were but other than that our guys held their own you know they're the sports definitely well and that's the thing when uh we bring in these two new teams next year uh Oklahoma Texas great programs obviously we know what Oklahoma's done in softball and gymnastics and everything uh Texas great programs it's it's just going to get more competitive but I I would think that more competition just sharpens steel you know it's just like you get better because your playing gets the best all the time well right now uh I would still predict the teams that are winning annually right now Alabama Georgia maybe LSU won the division and hopefully we can get in that uh caliber with those teams that they're still going to be leading their divisions and playing for the championship and I don't see Texas and Oklahoma beating those guys I may be wrong but I don't see it happening yeah the other sports uh yeah they can hold their own Texas and Oklahoma I think that's going to be the interesting thing uh because you know the whole knock on Texas has been they've been solved I mean that goes back to the Charlie Strong days but um in Oklahoma we obviously had a dip and we'll see if they can come back from it but we all know what a great coach stoopsy was out there and did a great job and they had great players and uh they had Lincoln Riley they won the Big 12 almost every year he was there I think uh you know he's able to get the top quarterbacks in the country because they throw it around probably better than anybody right now so and of course Southern Cal had an almost big year they didn't quite win their conference but they played for it right so uh yeah when that quarterback coach like Lincoln Riley he's going to attract good quarterbacks uh plus they got the money at Southern Cal too they do so I look for them to stay up there again they you talked about you talked about the nil it's just amazing how much it is uh change this world and I mean uh but that's the thing you know for example LSU baseball raised a lot of nil money they're two main players that they had were transfers guys out of the portal and that's the way you win today and but that's the way it is so you have to accept it and make it make it work for you yeah it is the way it is right now hopefully Congress can come in and put some limits or right some rules in place but right now uh maybe the team with the most money can get the players to come but on the other side I'm not really French this weekend by the way the team coach yeah and they don't mess with the NFL much but he said hopefully uh all those scores that give out all the money uh maybe some of the guys will get all the money don't play worth the crap in their backup so you get a little detention on the team but hey this guy's getting a million a year I'm only getting fifty thousand uh you know that it gets uh you know maybe the reputation of the players and and guys uh dissension yeah can creep in so that that's a possibility and maybe that's what happened to Miami and Texas A M because they paid a lot out last year too I did can you imagine having to manage that you know as a coach you know obviously you're you're more old school you know but can you you know having to deal with that every day yeah I think everybody that looks at it from Joe fan to coaches to everybody is there should be a limit on what the guys get before they play now after they play if some guy said man you're going to endorse my company and my products and my clothing line and this that and the other then he can make whatever he wants but given money before they've earned it uh of course they'd do that for coaches they do they get the big wad nowadays and that's why the players kind of revolted you know and it became a big deal because the coaches were making so much and leaving them in alerts like Tom Kelly did when he left Cincinnati you know for uh Notre Dame you know they had to play that game and they were not ready to play uh and that Sugar Bowl against Tebow but you know so that's where that kind of I think the Groundswell started on on all that yeah it did and uh but they're not going to do anything right now and so you just got to live with what's up there but still it's the teams that have been there and uh you know I've looked for one of these teams that's been uh planned like 500 ball to jump up there and uh well TCU jumped up there but they had a miracle year they won every three-point game they played they played a bunch of them at three seven point and all this set in the other so uh it's interesting but the schools that normally win are the ones I see still being up there it is amazing to think how bad our national championship games have been football was awful terrible basketball was awful women's basketball was awful we thought it was going to be a great game but it was awful and then the baseball championship 18 to four it's amazing how bad they've been but you know I mean sometimes it happens just you have a year like that yeah sometimes this happens bad and uh and obviously all all those did uh so now we're worried about I can't worry about it now everybody's getting ready for next year well and it's full-blown talking season now yeah so so you're gonna hear everything you can ever believe about different guys uh getting into portals and everything like that but it's uh this is the time of year where you hope your guys are taking it seriously right back in your day they had to do it completely on their own didn't they pretty much the strength coach could be with them during the summer and that was that was it uh but we always had good leaders at Pat that's no question a big reason of our success uh the older guys I mean the first year Huey Richardson Jerry Odom uh all those guys uh just excellent leaders Mark Murray defensive end and then of course Eric Grant tailed back and run over guys and pop up his lineman attitude and effort still gotta have good players don't get me wrong but you can lose with good players good players with attitude and effort and smarts and coaches putting in some good ball plays for him on offense that defense right that to me separates from the other guys you know I was I'm getting ready to do a thing for Gators wire I write these lists 12 things and I uh the one I'm doing uh this week is uh 12 best offenses in Florida that didn't win a championship and I started thinking about it and I and I was like well I'm I'm not counting 90 is not winning the championship because they want to change it yeah so I I the only one I could think of was 2001. that's one that's the one that statistically that 2001 was almost like 96. the 96 team with Danny waffle Hank redell crazy and all those guys uh we beat uh the all SEC teams about an average of 29 Points average 29 Points in the 2001 would beat him like 28 points yeah and uh but we lost lost to Tennessee that last game about two points and knocked us out of everything yep well I always wanted to ask you what do you think went wrong in that game well offensively we had to kick a bunch of field goals yeah we didn't score down in there bad play calling on my part defensively Travis Stevens of Tennessee ran for 225 yards and we had the number one or two defense in the conference uh so I don't know I remember John hope saying we had guys in position they just didn't make plays and then he once he broke the taxes yeah yeah and we didn't play very well defensively but when you get the ball run down your throat we should have put an eight-man line yeah coach Gene Ellison he'd go to the goal line defense you know if you can't stop him with another stuff there's no sense covering gas back there get everybody up there and stop the run uh I don't think we did that very well that game uh but having a kick I think we get four field goals uh instead of touchdowns down there so forth is what really cost us I think all right coach uh anything else or I was going to ask you one question I'm going to make this uh something I ask you uh a different question every week how about this what is the best pass you ever threw in your life best passing number three well how about Charlie Casey out and up against the FSU I like that one I like that one a lot yeah that was one of my favorites because what happened uh the play in the Huddle was just a down and out and back then everybody played three deep so I'd roll out Casey wrote 10 yard out I'd try to hit him so right before I said set hunt their guy jumped off site and I said said hi and as I was rolling out the referee threw the flight for him Offset you could see it so I had a free play so I got out there in that kid mode cool turn it up and you think we practiced it because he put his foot in the ground turned it up and was wide open and I hit him in the end zone for the touchdown to put us ahead uh in that game so if I had to pick one right there that was good to see I loved it and uh it's funny he told me that uh when he looked up the sun was it decides and he couldn't find the ball and then finally it it materialized and then Alan Trammell ran back a pic Jack Harper caught a pass I think in that game he was going down the sideline the boss sort of came over like this and he said I actually never saw it and it was somewhere here and it hit and stuck in my hands and I guess that happens sometimes just put your hands out maybe it'll stick sometimes you get the brakes sometimes you don't and like early in that game for example they call Rivera out for interference yeah and I still don't understand that rule I thought he was he started inside the line but he ran right toward first base yep and I thought that that you know I thought that's a bad call yeah but not much we can do about it now we have no college sports for two months that's right summer summer conditioning and even the college coaches I think are off uh for about a month yeah and uh and then they crack back up oh what time they get to crack up now August sometime yeah yeah I get my five weeks before we have the SEC media days I guess it was late July but that'll be interesting but uh we'll talk more about that later but and we'll talk about Coach Spurrier when he was at SEC media days but uh we'll be back with more of another duly noted podcast presented by Titan MRI for the melded long Gator Studios great food great atmosphere a diverse menu everything made from scratch plenty of space and locally owned these are all the characteristics of a great restaurant and you a great added Brewer and he's just opened up a place here at a birth code to go uh what would give me the idea to do this to happen to go places uh we really like the fast concept you know being able to get the barbecue uh now we have this new online ordering so we before it was a call ahead carryout Quick Service we have like a curbside kind of a deal where um you know your everything's ready to Adam's rev code to go come on down and enjoy it all right welcome back to another do we know the podcast presented by Titan MRI from the Melton law Gator Studios we're going to welcome in Robbie Andrew in just a minute but uh we we didn't get to our Campus USA play of the game and uh look there was only one play and if for just a moment a lot of people had hope and I do know that I made a noise that got my dog to come running and panting because I was really loud uh and after that there wasn't much good happen but here it is our play of the game from last night's national championship game and it is a long home run by Wyatt Langford who continues wowford is scolding Gators I said to the TVs are you kidding me you know you keep going man man I know we keep asking you to get a hit but can you get get another one have a world and finally he just he just kept doing it but he wanted Omaha hey I hope he has a great career and uh Wyatt Langford great job by him let's uh go to our yes nowhere no way or maybe segment and we bring in the great Robbie Andrew and um I know you didn't watch all the game last night but uh it was not pleasant but hey you know what it happens we've had nothing but bad National Championship Games bad football bad basketball bad women's basketball bad baseball yeah I mean you kind of you could tell early in the game once they got that six run inning it was going to be kind of a one-sided deal and when it got 10 nothing or ten to two I turned it off so yeah I I think I was about that was about the same time for me the funny thing is when it was 10 to Florida the night day before we we're like watching every inning oh man they didn't get to run that inning it's only 24-4 but you know Sully was right Pat they just didn't get enough out of their pitching they're starting pitching they were all set up they're all rested ready to go and they didn't get enough ahead of them yeah they did and that was the biggest problem they had usually that's a strength and uh just didn't didn't do enough but you know uh still very close and I I give them a lot of credit this team uh Robbie was a lot of fun to watch all year there were so many great moments that we're always going to remember but there's only one champ at the end of the year everybody else finishes with a loss unless they didn't make the tournament so I think people have to realize how how special it was yeah it was an outstanding year patent like I said a lot of memories and I think they've set up well for next year in the years to come too I think you know he's got the program in a great place now all right here let's play yes nowhere maybe it's brought to you by big Mill's Cheesesteak and of course Robbie coming to you on the big Mills Cheesesteak Zoom Line Street dining done the right way at Big Mill's Cheesesteak uh sponsors also with the Bob Billy Invitational uh all right let's get to number one on yes nowhere maybe uh Robbie Once you turn the game off you still check back to see what the score was I didn't see the score until this morning pass so no way I never went back I just you just knew they were running out of pitching and it just wasn't gonna go well I just I put it to bed I didn't want to watch it I didn't and I once it got ugly and then I uh but I had to see what the final score was I just had to see the season was over and it was very sad I it you know to think about the season being over because it's not just the season that's over Robbie it's all of college sports two months yeah well when I woke up Pat I thought well I think the score is probably gonna be like 16 to two or something so I wasn't far off yeah you weren't uh that that is what's weird um about it but okay number two on yes nowhere maybe it's a long time till August 26th Robbie no it always is Pat because you're waiting for you know football to get started again so yeah it'll be a long ways but the way I look at it enjoy your summer read the magazines and get ready for football yeah it'll be a long time it'll be a long time we have the British opens about it you know yeah and hopefully that's entertaining um yeah because there's really nothing else going on Pat yeah okay uh number three and this is something that happened to me I'm flipping around on serious radio and I actually was listening to a game a Florida basketball game this that is that's the weirdest thing you've ever heard me do yes why are you listening to a floor it was an old it was a mick Hubert game too so it was an old game well who who why was it on where was it at I don't know I just walked I did probably about five minutes store to a house that was about it who are they playing Vanderbilt big game I'll take your word for that pad big game so that's a mystery why why did Mary was playing for that team oh God you're going back a few I don't get it I I just I I just was looking for something to take my mind off baseball but I'm all right I did mine by watching an episode of The Sopranos goodness where Laura McCall got smacked to use the f word so that was cool all right just like though give me a call yeah Frankie Valli died in that episode too then I don't think he died in real life though no he didn't in real life no all right Gonna Let You Go we'll be back uh we'll talk to you again next week see you bud okay thanks all right that is Robbie Ander on yes no we are maybe brought to you by big Mill's cheesesteaks let's get to Adam's ribco to go Gator of the weekend and for me I thought I thought pretty obvious Choice as much as I just talked about how great Langford was uh was Ty Evans nobody's ever hit five homers at the College World Series now they have and it was Ty Evans the most unlikely of Heroes uh hardly played then all of a sudden he started playing the regional and you're like well you hit a homer uh he had a great he had a a tournament to remember and we'll see how he builds on that but the bottom line is that's something nobody can ever take away from that he's hit the most homers in the history of college baseball it's a College World Series Five they were all important too well except the last one maybe all right that is uh our Adam tripco to go Gator of the weekend I think Adam tripco to go could be in our plans and picking the wife and daughter up at the airport so that could be in our plans tonight let's get to our Leonardo's and millhopper Quick Picks I think I forgot to do one last week so um I'm just gonna give you I'm gonna make this very easy for you um and then we're gonna make a poll on Friday Friday's show we'll make a poll we'll have a winner we'll give you 25 of Leonardo's and we'll give you a copy of my book I haven't given away those in a long time I'll give you a copy of my book signed if you want it not signed if you don't want it I'll be happy to do that uh all we ask you for you is your play of the year and I'm talking about the count the academic calendar year from September through the end of college baseball season what was your favorite play you're basically helping me write a comment in some way at some point I'm just kidding but that's all you got to do so you can put when they score and and send that in now there'll be people that do that and I just want to get a bunch of you guys to qualify that that are fans of Leonardo's and millhopper Quick Picks and uh and then we'll make a poll on Friday okay so that is our Leonardo's and millhopper Quick Picks let's get to Hesser and kipke three things uh number one and oh I gotta read the Heston kid meeting I forgot all about it uh not even though Ken and I were going back and forth whether he was going to come in today there was talking he might wander by today but I think he had to be in court so I don't think he could do it so Pastor kipke is a Gainesville Law Firm specializing in areas of workers compensation and family law Ken and Jennifer take great pride in their one-to-one focus on each and every client they represent Ken is board certified and workers compensation Along by the Florida bar while Jennifer possesses extensive jury trial experience with a note nearly 20-year background as a prosecutor if you don't believe me check out their truckload of five-star Google reviews set an appointment at HK lawfl.com or give them a call 352-339-9920 number one lost in the shuffle of LSU win the national championship which I'm you know nobody's happy about uh is that they also had to vacate 37 wins under Les Miles because they played an eligible player of her entire four years and will way got a suspended 10 games by McNeese State for his involvement in violations they cheat they win they win they cheat it's the way it is but you know what does any of that matter to you none of it matters oh they vacated 37 wins so less miles falls under the 600 percentage to get into the Hall of Fame good don't let him in I don't care NCAA uh two number two on the history and kick E3 things real tragedy Terry Price who was only 55 years old passed away it's the guy who's been around forever and a bunch of SEC schools 28 years in the SEC is a defensive line coach was a M's defensive line coach and of course you know how good their defensive lines have been really said see this um but um it feels like we keep losing guys way too young uh but really sad Terry Price was 55. uh number three on the Hester and Kippy three things the basketball opponents were announced and my first reaction was oh you got oh you got to play Alabama twice or not I'm like hey you gotta have the most games that's all it is there's no big mystery here you're gonna win the games be good be better than the other teams you're gonna play tough teams uh it only sharpens your steel like I said earlier so don't worry about it uh but uh they do play Alabama twice that that to me was the most uh and they have to go to Tennessee and don't get a return trip all right there we go there we have it that's all I cared about all right let us get to our Ben I Odell Realty games of the week last one for Ben Ben is uh taking a break and we appreciate him and so the games of the week which gets really good especially in football season and we had a lot of fun with it is open for a sponsorship we got a couple of sponsorships available and we'll talk to you about those uh very soon trust me uh and there's not much here on games of the week believe me not because Ben's leaving because there's not much going on if if you want to watch the pocket mortgage golf tournament decent field not great three to six it is on the uh Golf Channel um it's from Detroit by the way uh it's it's a good feeling I don't I don't know that it's watchable but we'll see the match is Thursday at 6 30 and of course that is Travis Kelsey and Patrick Mahomes against Seth Curry and Klay Thompson will I watch that maybe five minutes maybe I'll put it on the second TV and go yeah maybe it'll get interesting I don't know that doesn't here's their candy caps in case you need those Curry's a 0.1 Thompson's a 12. Kelsey's an 11 Mahomes is 7.7 so there you can bet on it I'm sure so go ahead and watch it um not much else going on there's a little bit of baseball on ESPN plus I will give you the week three games that intrigue me South Carolina at Georgia 3 30 on CBS Tennessee Florida of course is it seven o'clock on ESPN those are the benign Odell Realty games of the week let's get to the final thing which is of course uh East Lake Pediatrics uh Pat Dooley Story Time and every time I had we had some extra balls so every time I put on them of course I grabbed them and every time I pick one up and it says East Lake Pediatrics like oh I like those those guys are great I love them um so um but I just want to tell this story real quick yeah my wife and daughter decided they were going they're gone and I said look I'll I'll do what I can to help to work with you if you I'll say yes if you want to go but I'm gonna go and I said there's three reasons I'm not going I've been there eight times I don't need to go again uh somebody's got to stay with the dog or else we have a major problem and three I don't want to be around those LSU fans that was it those are my reasons that I I stand by them so I didn't go but I did have communications with Sully talked to him a lot uh during the time and I appreciate him being a good friend and uh I did something I usually don't do which I really never do and that is that um I got tickets for my wife and daughter um through UF and I didn't pay for them because they gave them to me for free which is unbelievably nice I'm on a roll with getting free tickets I couldn't do this when I was at newspaper you weren't allowed to take anything free now I'll take anything free including sponsorships so if you guys want to get in touch with me but boy did they have a great time and um we appreciate Kevin appreciate uh buddy Monroe who helped us out just efficient as always um but number two team in the country wasn't bad they lost to the number one team in the country in the in the preseason not a bad year it was a lot of fun I had a blast with it too stressful for me but I had fun with it that's going to do it I gotta go pick them up at the airport now let's get out of here uh until next time thanks to Robbie thanks to coach Spurrier we'll be back uh with another show on Thursday or Friday uh Tim Brandon is going to join us until then I'm Pat Dooley I'm deep I'm way back and I am out of here thank you
