uh since since in the off season for and especially when it comes to top 25 teams the NC State wolf pack one of their bigger concerns going into 2024 was establishing a running game I think we could all agree with that and that is something that has been FL by the pundits and the preseason prognosticators all the peas when it comes to the NC State wolf pack this season the one thing that would hold them back in making a serious run at the college football playoff because we've expanded to 12 teams they know the expectations Dave Dorne has said he knows the expectations this team knows it wants to be the year of the wolf pack it has been said over and over and over again but I had to go look up the stat to make sure that this was a legitimate concern besides the fact that they did pick up Jordan Waters as a year senior out of the transfer portal from the Duke Blue Devils Jordan Waters who rushed for 819 yard last season his most successful season the year season prior to that 566 this is with Riley Leonard at quarterback who has now moved on remember those numbers I know it's tough to keep that stuff in your head I may have to refer back to it again 819 yards rushing for Jordan Waters last season's top rusher for the NC State wolf pack was Brennan Armstrong I had to go back and look this up don't remind State fans from scrimmage Brendan Armstrong was your top rusher and did it in 12 games in 12 games frency State rush for 665 yards the next number two on the rushing list Graham can I guess yes please guess casy concepion Bingo jet sweeps Casey concepion in 13 games rushed for 32 yards that is number one and number two number two those were the two top rushers they weren't even running backs that shows you right away why whatever it is that was promised to Jordan Waters at state was going to be hopefully well worth it as opposed to hopefully he got underpaid to come here because this team had to address the biggest biggest flaw and if you look up and down the top 25 college football teams and I've been dissecting these lists for the past couple of days for this specific moment there are no other teams that have question marks when it comes to running backs it is it so the thought process is if that is truly fixed and the holes can be created for Jordan Waters and I'm not I'm not saying that uh W mothers will not play a role to because he will they will they will make sure that they are handing that that that they are feeding the male carriers for sure tote and the mail that the only thing that everyone like universally it is unanimous the one thing that had to be the biggest thing that the biggest concern was was the running game so it's interesting that you mentioned Jordan Waters because offensive coordinator Robert and N spoke to the media yesterday following NC State six practice of their official camp and uh you know obviously they were asking about the new offensive weapons that he has the new toys that he has to play with this season and when he was discussing Jordan Waters uh he said that he's a catchall guy he's not just one type of player that when he comes on the field he's only going to do for example only pass block and only run the ball he is a guy that does it all from the start from start to finish he and he has a really good offense with Coach Thunder as well so it sounds like we might be seeing a little more out of Jordan Waters than maybe some State fans were anticipating rather lot State fans might have just been anticipating Jordan wall to be a north south player might be going east to west set him up in uh screen passes jet sweeps I mean we'll see you keep your fingers crossed in that case as a state fan as you lead into that game that first game which is three weeks away initially with what is left in terms of fall practice that that is the one thing that everyone's like this is what we got to solve like it wasn't even about quarterback it was like that's not the you know the issue wasn't quarterback right you had quarterbacks you've got Grayson McCall in now it wasn't the issue that had to be solved which is strange because that was the issue last year was like consistency at quarterback and figuring out how to get things going it wasn't defense it was like can we get the running game going I mean I see quarterback I mean I see quarterback issues among the top 25 more than anything else and a lot of defense like and they're talking about quarterback at places like Clemson and Ohio State yeah but not with NC State the wolf pack it's about running and if they get the running game going apparently hopefully that's the one thing that gives them that nudge on paper NC State talent wise should not should eliminate any questions of what a good college football team should look like and I know Earl Reese host of The Sport Shop who's listening right now thank you ree for tuning in on your way home will laugh at this when he hears me say as State fans that should be the most concern in thing when it comes to the superstitious part of going to the season but on a serious note Casey concepion can we Circle back to him for a little bit sure hopefully he doesn't doesn't change at all he said Casey concept as a sophomore is a game leing player and he's somebody they have he's one of the primary guys that they have to get the ball to early on the season which I find interesting know as you think all these offensive guys Casey doesn't have to do a lot of the heavy lifting like he did last season it seems like Robert ny's going the Mantra of is not bro don't fix it right I was just to say I was just going to say that he is he last year last season he was rough 60% of the offense like if you break it down and if returning this year if it were just pure and it will never be this way again but if it were just pure non-nil just total recruits and the fact that transfers were eligible right away right and you were just going to run it back with the team that you had and say you do get you know Grayson McCall who makes the transfer whatever it is you get that back Casey kpan would be legitimately the only offensive threat on this team yeah based on last year's performance it would be him take out the nil take out those natural trans take out those star transfers right we the ones we consider Stars the big names that get us all going at the pep rallies and and at the nil Banquets and things like that like he's the guy like he has to be the guy like it's sent to me production wise it might be 40% Casey concepion 20% Jordan Waters 20% Naro Rogers and then 20% Justin Jolie just because I want to see tight in production out of NC State this season that's something that I feel like that offense has been lacking for a long time the last time I can remember a I and I can't remember his name but Ryan Ryan Finley season was the last time they really utilized a tight end player for an NC State offense you're talking multiple seasons ago two two seasons ago even before Devon Larry and bayy Hawkman State fans would getet about bayy hawman I feel I feel like bayy hotman was kind of disrespected a little bit during his time at NC State going be so happy to know that she did a good job of convince me to cancel my Hulu subscription it's going up uh this is going up uh in October October 17th much by how because I was paying like 8.99 $89.99 or something so they're going to go up uh right now there's a there's a disy what were you so Hulu you playing Hulu Hulu streaming I had Hulu live Hulu live so that's go so you had no ads or ads yeah yep you had no ads okay so no ads is going to go up to $95.99 so six six bucks wow so that's uh get yourself a two-piece at bows that's how much it's going up you'll have to you'll have to have one less two piece at bows a two-piece chicken dinner because of that subscription every month 95 $95.99 Hulu Plus live TV now this doesn't include now you got everything right so this is like everything with live TV there's that new venue Sports thing that's coming right so venue that was announced it's Disney Warner Brothers Discovery and fox all coming together right so this is going to be this big uh joint kind of like let's give you all the sports venue Sports is what it's called it's coming so the rumored price point was supposed to be near 50 a month it's 43 a month $43 a month but here's the bit this year you're going to get every NBA game but excuse me 8238 I didn't have the Disney plus oh okay so but that's still going up that one's going up too that's going up to that's also going up six bucks so so $88 yeah it's jumping up everything's Jumping Up by six six bucks on the top end the venue Sports thing which is 43 a month while it gives you a ton of stuff this year may be the year to buy it but not the following year because this year you're going to get every NBA game but starting in 2025 because NBC is not involved you won't get any NBA and then you're going to get about half the NFL games because you're not going to get NBC prime time you won't get the Prime video games you won't get the CBS Day games on Sundays and you won't get any of the holiday games because Netflix owns those rights so here's the bit like if you have these streaming services get ready like you may want to invest in like one of those garage couches that you just kind of throw throw in there because you're going to have people invading your house house if you've got the funds and your boys don't or what you know however you guys hang out on Saturdays and Sundays for football this fall I'm like and mad just tell them you know what bring over bag of chips you can sit on my garage couch watch games all day long with me don't care it'll be cheaper like it'll be cheaper for them to come to your place than it will be for them to go for them to stay at home because of how much money is being spread out when it comes to watching sports well shout out to my roommate's father for letting us use his YouTube uh YouTube TV say that I to say that out loud you're going to ruin that for the rest of us don't ruin that for the rest of us we're all Bogart
