what's up football fans and welcome to week one Thursday Night Football recap on Tim rold show as we're getting kicked off with the 2024 NFL season with the Baltimore Ravens taking on the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead and man what a great game we had on Thursday Night Football as we got kicked off with both offenses marching down the field to score their first touchdowns of the 2024 NFL season as we' seen the Baltimore Ravens and newly acquired running back Derk Henry get the first offensive touchdown of the 2024 NFL season as Derrick Henry gets his first rushing touchdown with the Baltimore Ravens to put Baltimore up 7 nothing in the first quarter but we would see the Kansas City Chiefs high-powered offense answer very quickly with their rookie wide receiver first round pick Xavier worthy who broke the NFL combine record at the 40- yard dash would actually get a reverse rushing touchdown to put the Kansas City Chiefs offense on the board and tie it up 7 to7 at the end of the first quarter and then we would see the second quarter would be all field goals as both def defenses really stepped up their game as we would see the Kansas City Chiefs held to two field goals and two red Zen Red Zone trips and we would also see the Baltimore Ravens held to only one field goal as the halftime score would be 10 to13 the Kansas City Chiefs leading at halftime and the one thing to really take away from the first half was I seen the Baltimore Ravens had a bunch of penalties for illegal formation now I don't know if this was a mistake on the Ravens part or just a newer sort of uh referee uh thing that they're just trying to point out and make sure that they're getting really on the uh offensive line about as far as how close they're supposed to be to the line apparently this is a new thing uh that the tackles are supposed to be near up where the guards and Center is to be more of a straight offensive line rather than more of like the U or Arrow shaped that were used to seeing so there was a lot of illegal formation penalties for the Baltimore Ravens in the first half very uncharacteristic of them but Lamar Jackson was rushing the ball all over the field for the Baltimore Ravens offense and as this was looking like a pretty good game and we would get a stellar finish near the end here as we would see a really really good game going all the way down to the fourth quarter where we would see Chiefs wide receiver Xavier worthy the rookie wide receiver once again getting a big touchdown catch from Patrick Mahomes putting the Chiefs off big but we would see the Baltimore Ravens answer with a field goal of their own to put themselves within seven points and they would end up getting the ball back at the very very end of this game to help them to get down to the end of the field and be able to have a chance to tie the football game and we would see tight end Isaiah likele really step up on this final drive as he would really be Lamar Jackson's go-to guy as they would drive all the way down the field but we would see Lamar Jackson in the Baltimore Ravens lose by a toe that's right folks Lamar Jackson on the last play of the game we would see him throw the ball in the end zone and Isaiah likely would come down with the catch but could not get both feet in bounds now it was originally ruled a catch so the Baltimore Ravens thought that they had scored a touchdown and it looked like they were going to go for a two-point conversion to try to win the game but unfortunately after replay review we see that the toe hit right outside of the end zone for tight end Isaiah likeley and the Baltimore Ravens as they lose this opening matchup in Arrowhead against the Kansas City Chiefs 27 to20 a tough break for Baltimore fans and the Baltimore Ravens to kick off their season but a really hard fart Victory as the Baltimore Ravens really look like they will be a competitive team throughout the 2024 NFL season and how about them Kansas City Chiefs man on Banner night they come out and they win their week one game after losing to the Detroit Lions last year in the opening week we see the Kansas City Chiefs start off on the right foot in the 2024 NFL season and now just going over some numbers for you guys for the games to point out for the Baltimore Ravens we seen Lamar Jackson Go 26 of 41 with 273 yards through the air and one passing touchdown we also seen Lamar rush for 16 times for 122 yards in this game now derck Henry was pretty good averaging about four to three and a half yards per carry in this game but we also seen Isaiah likeley was the one that really stood out in this one as we see he had nine catches for 111 yards and a touchdown in this one for Isaiah likeley so a big big game from him but we also seen Justice Hill the running back for Baltimore Ravens got six catches for 5 two yards in this one we also see Z flowers the top wide receiver for Lamar Jackson in Baltimore we seen him get uh six catches for 37 yards in this one so pretty decent game overall for the Baltimore Ravens offense and we see for the uh the winning team the Kansas City Chiefs offense we got 20 to 28 for Patrick Mahomes for 291 yards he throws a touchdown and a weird pick believe it or not in this game for at least on Patrick mahom standards but a very good Q qbr in this one we also see Isaiah Pacho Rush the ball for 15 times for 45 yards around three yards per carry with a big touchdown there late in the game but even though he doesn't have a lot of total yards here he really ran hard in the entire football game but we also see Rasheed rice stood out in this game with seven catches for 103 yards in this game and he was Patrick Mahomes top Target in this game but Xavier Woody was the one that made the Highlight catches and also the Highlight Rush at the beginning for his first NFL touchdown of his career but we also seen him get his first receiving touchdown of his NFL career too as he becomes the first rookie since the 1950s to get a receiving touchdown and a rushing touchdown in his debut game wow what a crazy game this was on Thursday Night Football and guys I cannot believe that we got to check it out and the 2024 NFL season is here man and it kicks off with the reigning defending Super Bowl champions getting a victory and kicking off their 2024 just right and hey I can't wait to see what the Baltimore Ravens do after this one as now they'll get a little bit of rest after playing on Thursday Night opening up the season this way and we'll see them come back I believe in week two stronger than ever as this is going to be a very competitive team in 2024 and watch out for these Kansas City Chiefs man Patrick Mahomes is always finding new weapons it looks like him and Andy Reid are always going to dial up things on this offense that are going to be crazy we have Xavier worthy go off in this one as the rookie definitely shows off his speed not only with the rushing touchdown but also with the receiving touchdown which was a big play in the game for the Kansas City Chiefs who I think are going to have many many more big plays this season than they did last season and it's
