Kliff Kingsbury Compared This Commanders WR's Role to Deebo Samuel: Preseason Thoughts

yo what is up guys this Pedro here and today's video I'll be talking about something that Cliff kingsberry said about Casmir Allen comparing his role on this team to maybe Debo Samuel and seeing some of the same traits in him and we'll also talk about if I think Casmir Allen's going to make it and talk about some other things that happened in the preseason game yesterday if you guys are new make today uh so going to try to get it out quick uh but you know the commanders obviously had the preseason game yesterday they won it was very very difficult to watch I mean the top 34 guys on the team weren't playing so it's a bunch of you know backups or third stringers or even fourth stringers playing basically the whole game so we're going to get into some of the guys that did really well didn't help themselves but let's talk about Casmir Allen first wanted to make this video last week but didn't have time so uh Casmir Allen's been working at running back receiver and more running back recently has also been um uh the returner you know punt returner getting some kick return work as well he mentions to reporters or Cliff Kingsbury mentioned reporters last week that his explosive traits remind him of a Debo Samuel type player commanders are looking for a way to keep Allen whether he takes advantage is the question had a fumble last week and that is a good point he has not really taken advantage of that situation like if you we'll go ahead and look at the stats right here uh against the Patriots he didn't have an amazing game just trying to pull this up right here um let's see go to the Patriots game he was getting some you know work at running back you know which is good they're they're really just trying to find a way to get him on the roster he had two carries for two yards had two catches for 12 yards and then return wise didn't do a ton uh had one return for 23 yards for kick return and then one punt return zero yards and had a couple Fair catches on a side note Kade York looked pretty good his long was 34 though but he did make two kicks uh 34 and a 33 I believe and then he made two extra points so uh nothing insane but he's 100% this uh preseason I think he's four for four on kicks and four for four on extra points so that's good to see uh you know see uh this is what Cliff kingsburry said so I know I saw some people making a big deal out it saying Cliff was comparing him to Casmir or to Debo Samuel he was more comparing maybe their roles uh he's a guy I'm not comparing but similar role to Debo explosive guy and uh they're very different players in terms of their size let me go back to this tweet cuz someone said yeah Allen's 5'8 176 lb kesmir Allen 4 in taller uh 6' 215 lb like uh 40 lounds heavier that or according to this guy but I'm believing him in terms of a height and weight so they're different definitely different players but I can see what Cliff is saying in terms of his role as you know mostly you know getting some carries out of the back field like in this game against the Patriots had two carries for two yards which isn't great but then also had two catches for 12 yards so they want to use him kind of like how the 49ers use Debo Samuel I believe Debo did return at least at some point maybe I'm maybe I'm tripping but I think he did and obviously if Casmir is on this team he's returning punts and it seems like the team really is trying to find a way to get this guy on the squad uh Bernie blog says they've been really trying to make Casmir on works I guess he does cool things in practice because we're not seeing them in games and last week he had a really nice carry and then fumbled it and you just can't do that when you're really trying to make a roster uh but by the way they're just really pushing him to you know get the returns getting him carries I they really want to get him on the squad I think he's going to make it if I had to guess I think it's very very close to a 5050 uh the receivers you know got Terry obviously you got I was about to say Johan got because I'm so used to just listing him off and it's always Terry Jan diami but Terry diami Luke zakus like those guys are making the squad and then after that is the question mark is it going to be Crowder which I think Crowder probably makes it is it going to be Zaki or not zakus is making it is it going to be Martavius Bryant who had a good game yesterday drew some piis also had a TTY so he had and had a nice block so he had a good game is it going to be him Bryson termain did not help out his case penalties just did not have a good game yesterday and I don't think he's on the squad and no one's picking him up so just keep him on the practice squad there's no reason to uh you know take someone else's roster spot like a Derek Forest who I'm not saying he had a great game but Derrik Forest is uh has a higher chance of getting picked up by another team than kmir Allen does or sorry then Bryson Chaine does and probably Casmir Allen too uh but Casmir Allen they're trying to get him to work and I guess I don't know I guess uh he has a shot of making this roster as a returner uh because there's two guys back there kick return and then he can punt return as well but he does have those questionable hands at times where he uh last year the preseason fumbled and then this year fumbled a uh handoff so if he's making this team it's because of his return ability but can you really trust it can you trust it so it might be a situation where practice squad guy and they call him up and maybe he starts to make some plays and then actually stick on the roster let's go over some other things that happened in this game murle was fine 12 for 21 125 yards and a tutty had 40 rushing yards so had a solid game Jeff Drisco wasn't amazing uh but I think he's making the squad 12 for 18 73 yards and a pick got sacked once Michael Wy solid game seven carries 26 yards and a touchdown and then didn't get a lot of carries from what I remember we had two carries one yard Bryson Chaine one carry negative3 yards some of the other guys Austin Jones had a carry Bayern Pringle had a pretty good game Bayern Pringle one carry 10 yards oh sorry why am I I don't know why I thought that was um carries but Bayern Pringle had a catch for 10 yards I was like I don't remember Pringle getting a carry and then he also had a catch that was called back because he was out of bounds but it was still a really nice catch still a really nice catch Austin Jones eight for 19 not great there you see the Casmir Allen you see Chris Rodriguez who actually was doing pretty well as a receiver four catches for 39 yards but then the carries I don't know I just don't see him making the squad Jeremy McNichols it's either him or Michael Wy I mean he was getting the reps with the the the yesterday's first team and uh was solid five carries 23 yards and then also had did he get any receptions I don't see his name anywhere here uh I thought Mitchell Tinsley had a solid game as well four catches uh 37 yards 9.3 yards a catch and on five targets Marcus rosmy Jackson had a really really nice catch in the fourth quarter I I watched the full first half basically you know paying attention fully the second half was a little bit off and on just so boring but try to stick through but I was also moving into the apartment or back in so was doing some you know close just a bunch of stuff so I was off and on but I did see that catch by Marcus Ro me Jackson that was huge hopefully he sticks around on the practice squad Cole Turner I guess he had a catch or 25 yards I didn't remember it being that long pause but um he did have a couple drops or one uh drop that led to an inter no no not that led to an interception one pass was a little behind him but maybe could have caught it if you're trying to help yourself make the roster had a penalty or two just didn't have a great game like I said Martavius Bryan had a good game oh whoopsie I don't know what happened there Martavius Bryant had a good game three catches uh 20 yards and then had a touchdown also had a nice block drew some Pi uh you know yeah drew some Pi uh penalties as well so that's always good defensively uh no one really you know stood out in a good way I mean actually John ridway was a stud John Ridgeway was a stud he's making the squad Dom Hampton thought he had a couple nice plays I remember one special teams tackle that he was pretty good Noah I had a awful game awful awful game I thought he's making it I probably still is going to make it but that did not help out his chance of making the roster KJ Henry had a good game had a sack B Aon matthys had a solid game uh chigo the cornerback did not have a good game from what I saw Jer R had a couple nice plays or had a nice tackle from what I saw Tyler Owens uh made a couple tackles so defensively nothing crazy Jam Davis getting work there Derrick Forest getting work so Derrick forest's job definitely not safe you see Percy Butler not playing yesterday so that shows you Percy Butler is over Derek for and uh Percy Butler's a lock I guess um and yeah besides that nothing crazy happened kork was solid didn't see much you know in terms of distance but he made the kicks that he had to so you know what that's fine or that that's good and then yeah Casmir Allen thing was interesting and we'll see if he makes it man he hasn't shown much in the games or even in pract I mean I guess early on in Camp or OTAs and stuff he was doing pretty well but now like I haven't heard his name much uh lately in Camp or obviously in the preseason in a good way but he is a dynamic player he does have good return ability at times but can you trust him I don't know and I don't know if you need to keep him on the squad I don't know if someone's going to pick him up I rather keep some other guys at other positions but this team like the bottom 7 eight like it's just not a very deep team like they're not going to be cutting a lot of guys in my opinion that other teams are going to be picking up we'll see though uh but yeah that's it for today's video a lot of stuff coming up in the next couple days tomorrow's cut day 4:30 eastern time I believe he's either 4 or 4:30 I think I saw Rio's video he said 4:30 so I'm going to trust him on that and then you know maybe they'll make some trades K's been hinting at it maybe they trade Ridgeway or feder matthysse who both had good games actually uh increase their stock a little bit it's not going to be a good pick that they're going to get but hey if you can get a seventh round pick for one of these guys that maybe you're G to cut go ahead and do it and yeah I I'll keep you guys updated on auk stuff any other receivers maybe John meie keeping your eye out for that one uh but yeah if you stayed till the end go ahead and comment down below who's a pre-season we'll go Robert Davis if you remember him I remember he had
