Washington Commanders Sign Noah Brown + Trade John Ridgeway To The Saints

yo what is up guys it's Pedro here so the Washington commanders made a couple of big moves today they signed wide receiver Noah brown one of the best available if not the best free agent wide receiver to help out their young rookie quarterback in Jaden Daniels they also traded away a fan favorite defensive tackle in John Ridgeway so we're going to talk about that in today's video if you guys are a video but when these both of these moves came out but uh one move I really like bringing in Noah Brown a stud I know you know if you look at the stats on the surface had 567 yards last year you're like you know what that's solid but hey he did that in 10 games on Pace for like 960 is yards from what I remember I did the math the other day I'll probably put out a tweet about that but he was on Pace to uh get a ton of yards and he had he was also very up and down like he would have a huge game and then a you know not so great game but still he right now enters as the wide receiver too or you know maybe battling a little bit with dami but he certainly showed more than diami brown so far in the league and uh so we'll talk we'll keep talk about Noah Brown last year 33 catches 567 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games so has some really good stats the year before I believe he played in almost every game I mean I can go ahead and look it up here but the year before he played in almost every game and had about the same stats 550 yeah 550 yards and three touchdowns uh and then before that with the Cowboys didn't really do much but he's still I mean I guess he's not young but he's he's 28 years old uh 6'2 uh so a little bit of a bigger body receiver and I do like this I do like this move a lot and he is coming off a shoulder injury so not sure how I don't know what injury he had at the end of last year but I know he's dealing with a shoulder injury right now I'm not sure if that's the same injury if you guys know let me know it down below he hasn't played in the preseason from what I heard from Texans fans so might not be ready right away not completely sure with that and that's probably partly why the Texans were okay moving on from him also though the Texans they have a lot of receivers so this is not your typical you know roster cut that it's like oh he's a scrub no I mean they have Stefon Diggs stud DMV guy they have uh you know Tang Dell who had a really good rookie season last year before he got hurt Nico Collins and then you got John Mei too who you used a second round pick on a couple years ago and uh miss his first year because of his illness which you know really really happy he was able to overcome that and uh persevere and he had a you know he played last season so second round pick you invested you're going to still uh want to see what he can do and that's your top four and maybe it just you know with the injury and stuff didn't really make sense to bring back Noah Brown and just let him go elsewhere maybe the fit also wasn't there we yeah 33 catches 567 yards I mean that's that's a decent amount of uh yards per catch there what yeah 17 yards per catch so he was a big play machine big play machine for the Houston Texans uh and yeah I'm excited to see what he can do for us it might take a little bit of time they still got you know a little over a week for him to Jael with Jaden hopefully Jaden's getting some extra passes with him getting acclimated to the offense and stuff they don't really have a overlap I mean there's no true overlap with Cliff kingsberry at all there is an overlap with Dan Quinn Dan Quinn was in Dallas uh for a couple years while Noah Brown was still there so there is a connection there even though he was a DC and Noah Browns on offense like they had that connection with Martavius Bryant who is not going to be on the squad FYI or not even sorry not going to be on the 53 which we already knew but he's not going to be on the uh practice squad either so that is also interesting but let's get you know talk about the John Ridgeway move uh the commanders trade a John Ridgeway to the Saints uh fresh start for a player brought in by the previous regime and that was one of the good moves Rivera made uh picked him up from the Cowboys practice squad and um which actually thinking about it like that is a connection to Dan Quinn and I didn't even think about that but they moved on from him but John Ridgeway first year here under Rivera had a rough start with that penalty against the Vikings and then I guess it it wasn't a big deal but the penalty against the Texans which is like when you think about that's what you think of that crazy hit against or the crazy Tak down against uh Pierce but after that really had some solid games and last year was good too and he's not a starter but he's a good backup to have and the teammates really like him he's a fan favorite and seems like a cool guy uh but they you know they're moving on and they can get an asset I guess it's not a great asset you get a six round pick um so yeah it is what it is and you're giving up a seventh though all right and I'm back just you know I had to do something real quick a little phone call but uh yeah I was just talking about the trade compensation you give up a sth you get a six so it is what it is the trade compensation isn't great we had all the the reporters saying oh like they've gotone a lot of interest even after they traded him like Kim and JP were like oh or at least K said like they they had a lot of interest well if you had a lot of interest I would expect more than a sixth round pick and you give up a seventh like it is what it is though said that a lot I always say it is what it is but uh yeah if you're a Saints fan John Ridgeway he's a good run stuffer uh big body just you know able to and pause but uh he's he's a big guy in the Run game able to uh you know stop these different running backs in the Run game for the most part he doesn't really have that much of a pass rush bag he doesn't you know get to the quarterback but he's a good rotational guy like I think on most teams would be the third D tackle here he's the fourth at best maybe fifth depending on mathys I personally liked uh Ridgeway better than mathys but it is what it is matthysse was a second round pick Ridgeway I think it was a fifth round or sixth round pick from the Cowboys and didn't work out with the Cowboys but worked out here so if you're a Saints fan I person I would feel good about this move I don't know what you guys need uh you guys probably need some more offensive line versus defensive line but he is a good addition and you know not going to be a you know big pass rushing threat or at least wasn't here for the for the commanders but is solid in the Run game is a you know good culture guy seems like the teammates like him he brings a little bit of fire to the defense and had a really good preseason game against the Patriots had like two tackles for loss had had a good uh game for sure and yeah for the commanders get a little bit more trade compensation or uh a little bit more assets to their Arsenal so next draft maybe they can uh throw up some more shots or trade
