Joker 2 Movie Reviews Are In and... Oh Boy.

This is the best film in history. This film was a waste of time. Early reviews for The Joker two are out and the audience is scary. Consider where this world premiere took place for the Joker two. It's really hard to trust what's starting to appear on the internet right now. What's a little more suspect is that the Joker two has a review embargo, and some of the people that are talking about the film are just completely ignoring it. So what's going on here? What are people saying about the Joker two? Well, in this video, we'll break that down. But in order for you guys to understand it, we got to talk about where the Joker two premiered in the first place. So the reason why we're starting to get reviews for the Joker two is because it just premiered at the 81st Venice Film Festival. The Venice Film Festival is one of the most prestigious and oldest film festivals in the world. If you premiere a film at the Venice Film Festival, it almost immediately puts you in the running to receive an Oscar. And that makes a lot of sense, because why Queen Phoenix actually got an Oscar back in 2020 for his portrayal of the Joker? Now critics also took to Twitter and Letterbox to voice their love and frustrations with the film. Some people also said that this film got a standing ovation at Venice Film Festival. But I'm be honest with you, bro. I'm not listening to any of that. I don't believe it. First of all, I don't believe anything when someone says something. Got a standing ovation. I understand, like, oh, everybody claps. 17 minutes. Standing ovation is insane. Cause like, there's people over there saying that this movie does something that's never been done in cinema before. And in this video, we're going to break all of that stuff down. Let's get into it. Welcome to another episode of Killer Encounter. And if you've been here before, so the Joker two is going to come out on October 4th, and we're pretty much a whole entire month ahead right now when it comes to reviews. Someone tweeted and said, Joker two seems to be just as divisive as I thought it would be. Oh god, a complete waste of time. Visually outstanding, but a useless sequel. We did not need almost to ruin the wonderful memory of the transcendental experience that was the first film. I'm so disappointed. Someone else said, I just got out of the film screening in Venice, and I will say this is an insane concept to make a musical, but what's even more insane is just that it works. Sure, the directing is a little clunky, but it works so well as a sequel. Lady Gaga in particular is terrific. Can't wait for the rest of the world to see this. I didn't believe a word person that the first person would say it. Calling it a complete waste of time because it's a sequel. Do you think all sequels or a complete waste of time? So does she think this movie adds absolutely nothing to the first one? And then somebody else said, here's why a sequel to a successful movie should never be made. This film ruined the original Joker for me. The imagine musical sequences were utterly devoid of logic or any narrative purpose. While the performance of Joaquin Phoenix were undeniably intense and masterful. It only served to highlight Lady Gaga's lack of experience, especially when placed alongside such a strong actor. He said something I was afraid of about Lady Gaga. I'm always afraid of when you have two actors and one actor is like Joaquin Phoenix and then the other actor is a good actor. It's going to make the other guy look like he don't know what he's doing. And that's what I was afraid of, because I know Lady Gaga knows how to act. She's a multi-talented artist. I was super afraid of that. Someone said just finished viewing a Gaga is just perfection. Definitely early frontrunner contender for the Oscar. So one person saying Lady Gaga doesn't know what she's doing. The other person saying Lady Gaga filling in an Oscar. I don't like how split this narrative is. And this is just on Letterboxd. And then critics actually came out and spoke about the film also, Joe Blow movies and TV said, what a performance, what a story, what a beauty, what a movie. Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix killed it. Todd Phillips once again proved that he is the best of the best. Joker fully either deserves everything. What more can I say? Joker two is easily movie of the year. He could have had something if he didn't put easily. Yeah, I mean, we haven't seen it yet, so we don't know. But I'm excited for the movie. I'm going to watch some of that movie. Someone said Joker fully out there. Feels like it's bad on purpose. A fascinatingly lifeless troll of a movie designed to anger fans and bore everyone else. So I just came out and gave the Joker a five out of ten and said, despite the best efforts of Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga, and an opening hours set in Arkham Asylum, Joker fully their wasted potential as a movie musical, a courtroom drama, and a sequel that has anything meaningful to say or add to the first Joker. I don't want to be that guy, but the last review who gave it a low score basically said the same thing that he was upset not with Lady Gaga, but about Lady Gaga. Everyone's complaining about the whole musical concept. Me personally, I think if they do take the creative route that I think they're going to take, it could work heavy. I don't know if you remember Team Fortress two, but you ever seen them meet the pyro video? I think so. That's years ago. I think I vaguely remember that. Why do I remember like flowers? Yeah. It's coming to me. Am I correct? Yes, 100%. Basically, what it was is in his mind. All he sees is sunshine, rainbows, flowers, and he's helping people aspire fire. But yes, yes, that's what I'm expecting. Like you need some Joker music going my. Okay. That's exactly what I'm expecting. Yeah, I'm thinking as of right now, it looks like people are kind of mixed on the fact that it's also a courtroom drama. And I know courtroom dramas, if it's not done properly, could start to feel a little bit iffy. So what I'm hoping is not happening is that the film is trying to be too much at one time because, like Oppenheimer is technically also a courtroom drama, but that's its main heavy focus. I feel like the movie would have to emphasize the courtroom drama, and maybe that's why people are so upset with Lady Gaga. So I just got to watch the movie for myself.
