[Music] good morning everyone and welcome back to wake aake it's your boy Jason we got football to talk about today today we're talking preseason losers fantasy football followers desan Watson Clyde Edwards hair Trey Palmer plenty more players that are falling down Fantasy Football ranks as a result of their preseason performance we're also going to break down some NFL news so go ahead take out hopping in I said that intro fast on purpose I am not slowing down for my intro on that one no no no no I do the show how I want to do even if the damn technology just makes me have to wait 11 minutes to go live because the browser can't connect to your webcam and microphone phone tried a different browser still didn't work I don't even know what ended up working just kept closing and retrying eventually it worked so we're here we're good we're good to go we got football to talk about today it'll be cool it'll be fun it'll be neat as the kids say so let's go ahead and just discuss some NFL news before we get into some of these pre-season losers we'll start of course NFL News with CD lamb getting his bag CD lamb is agreeing to a four-year $136 million contract with some record bonuses this will make him the second highest paid non quarterback in NFL history welld deserving right second best wide receiver in the league right behind Justin Jefferson actually he's the third best wide receiver in the league Jamar Chase is better than CD lamb but we're not there yet for Jamar chase this is next year Jamar Chase gets his bag next year so Jamar Chase just needs to learn how to be patient which he has he's back at practice so everything's all right right everything's all right the only thing that hasn't been solved is the Bren iuk situation and it's just because Brandon iuk is wrong Brandon iuk is just wrong he does not deserve the type of money he's asking for will not get the type of money he's asking for and so that's really that situation but CD lamb congratulations to him welld deserving very curious to see how the Cowboys figure out their cap situation around CD lamb are they gonna extend or or I guess bring back Dak Prescott how are they gonna pay Micah Parsons these are the questions we have but I'm sure we be answered soon enough so yeah Dallas Cowboys looking good you know it's taken some time this offseason for them to get back into shape you know for us to know who's all going to be there there but we all knew all along CD Lan was going to be a cowboy and any and no one ever was like oh he's going to get traded like come on we all knew this was going to happen it was just a matter of time and this is just how it always goes right every single time a wide receiver just someone in general who sits out it just takes until the end of the off season and then they get it right like it's just we just have to exercise patience and and never really you know think about it like we don't even have to think about it I think we maybe talked about CD lamb holding out like once just because it does doesn't matter it never mattered uh so anyway he gets his bag good for him I don't really think there's much to take away from it really just a congratulations so that's what we'll go with we do have three big players landing on pup though the physically unable to perform list and that is Nick chub Jonathan Brooks and TJ hackinson all of which have some pretty significant fantasy football takeaways with Nick chub landing on pup well I guess just first for the pup list what this means is that you will land on pup if you are to Miss at least four games of the NFL season and uh but there is a distinct a distinction between a pup and short-term IR the pup list means that again there's a four-week minimum but that's kind of it whereas the short-term IR I believe is at least six games so to see the pup is definitely good news however however it still could end up being more than just four weeks but Nick chub Jonathan Brooks T.J hackinson all on the pup list to start the year all will be missing the first first four games at least opening the door for the players behind them Nick chub's case we've got Jerome Ford who's already been one of the biggest steals of the draft if you had the player profile or draft kit and you went to the Jerome Ford page you were actually treated to a blurb written by me where I called you know Jerome for one of the easiest buttons to press all off season he had an ADP of 134 literally going after Nick chub all summer for absolutely no reason because as we said even if Nick chub was to return week one he was going to get a full workload that's just not how how it would work plus the Browns run the ball a ton they were fourth in the NFL last year in one place per game the philosophy is not going to be too much different this year I know that they brought in uh Jerry Judy and they're GNA try to let Deshawn Watson uh uh sling it a little bit but I just I'm really not sure if that's going to end up being the case I'm sure that we're going to get stuck with the Cleveland Browns old which means they're going to just be leaning into the Run game with Jerome Ford however I do want to say you know take this opportunity Nick chub is still uh a really good running back and when he does return I'm sure he'll get enough volume even if it's not Nick chub volume to at least still be productive with his you know with his athleticism I mean Nick chub is still one of the better running backs in the league I know this is a gruesome injury but you know modern medicine and recovery for these things has gotten so much better through the years and sometimes with some of these athletes they're just different animals Nick chub is just a different animal he will be fine when he comes back but it's just you have to wait for him to come back and that's fine right like that's what you want to hear from the Browns you want to hear them taking their time and not push Nick chub back earlier than is necessary so I would I would recommend especially if you're competing in Dynasty and you can get Nick chub on your roster for pretty cheap go for it you can throw him in your IR now for the first few weeks still have that roster spot it's really nice stuff uh same could be said for Jonathan Brooks who's landing on pup of course chuba hubard is going to be the guy while he's out uh and that's fine right chuba hubbert's done it before and that makes CH chuba hubard a really really good kind of Bridging the Gap running back if you if you need someone early in the season some of these zero RB builds chuba hub's a great option however again like with Nick chub use this opportunity to get Jonathan Brooks when Jonathan Brooks comes back he's gonna be fine as well and the bonus for him is that he's not 29 years old like Nick chub uh so he he will definitely be good whereas in Nick chub's case you're just betting on a supreme athlete and person that Nick chub is one of the hardest workers in the entire NFL uh whereas Jonathan Brooks he's just younger he could definitely come back a little bit uh faster and easier than Nick chub could but Nick chub's definitely putting in the work so definitely try to get Jonathan Brooks try to get Nick chub definitely in Dynasty more so go after Jonathan Brooks but if you're competing go get Nick chub as well and I'm just gonna go ahead and say it I am not against drafting either of these players in redraft I don't really care too much about the beginning of the season points obviously you want to start off well but in for the most part I mean you're not even worried about buys at this point of the Season like this is literally when you have your team at full strength so just having a Jonathan Brooks and Nick chub and IR so they can come in when you know by weeks start happening maybe some injuries have piled up for your team that's just so so important and I think that's something that's lost a lot in fantasy football when we think about valuation of players like just because the players missing a few games early in the season doesn't mean that they won't that they'll be missing games later in the season right like they'll be there they'll be there when it matters most so I do like getting these running backs for your team for sure uh and then hackinson uh we already knew that he was going to probably land on pup you know some people even expected the uh IR for him but to see pup that is definitely encouraging especially with everything we're hearing that he is ahead of schedule and trending in the right direction so I like getting T.J hackinson as well you know I I think that when he comes back he'll still be second in targets behind Justin Jefferson you know he's maybe not getting the 14 Target games like he had with Kurt Cousins but he's still at the tight end position it's just so shallow times that just to have someone like a TJ hackinson to be able to come in at some point whenever he returns I think that that's incredible because you can get TJ hackinson in the 14th 15th round right now and then get you know maybe someone earlier if you want or you can just you know take some swings on some of these other guys and just stream them like a Tyler Conlin a hunter Henry a Mike jiki just to bridge the gap or even just T.J hawkins's backup whose name is slipping my mind right now Josh Oliver I believe uh but either way like there there's just opportunity to just be in tight end hell while TJ hackinson is recovering but then once he comes back you're gonna have one of the better tight end you'll have a top 10 tight end and that's the cost it's already priced in that he's missing time so just go ahead and get him now you know I think it's ridiculous that he's going so late to be completely honest with you uh so I'm excited for TJ hackinson uh I'm excited for Nick chub I'm excited for Jonathan Brooks whenever they do return and I think you can get a nice value on them right now cool that is the NFL news uh yeah that that's kind of the big stories there are some other stuff I mean we've got some Cuts coming in that's just I guess how we'll end this segment here uh this is the roster cut deadline day so at 4 pm Eastern every single team will have to be down to their final 53 we've had some decent Cuts we've had some trades but nothing like too substantial yet and I'm just going to do a whole all-encompassing episode tomorrow morning so make sure you tune in tomorrow morning for my thoughts on some of the biggest cuts and what that may mean for your team and I'm just going to go ahead and say Ryan floro made the Dallas Cowboys roster so we can just do a little bit of a fist pump there uh as a little bit of a precursor for tomorrow's show uh but that is the NFL news uh yeah fun stuff do we care about Malik Willis being traded to the Packers no we don't now we have time for some preseason losers but before we get into that I do want to start something new here on wake and take I'm not sure how often I'm going to do this but there's something that's really fun in life and I'm actually a trivia host on the side of them he was the MVP fun fact the other two Patriots Super Bowl MVPs Dion Branch my favorite Patriots wide receiver of all time don't ask me why I just love me some Dion branch and Julian Edelman was the other one of course in that Falcons game where he just went insane had a ton of great catches over a 100 receiving yards fantastic performances from those guys but hey stick around we'll we'll have some trivia going in between AD breaks going but definitely get that draft kit as we are in fantasy football draft season like no other guys we've got some preseason losers uh mostly from Preseason Losers week three but really just some all-encompassing preseason losers that I felt you know there's been some hype for these players and they've lost that hype as a result of their preseason performance or lack thereof so we're just going to go down the list no particular order we'll start with Charlie Jones Charlie Jones I did believe picked up a little bit of an Loser #1 injury so this preseason he did only have one reception for three yards so we can't write him off too much for the injury but we are just hearing so much about the other wide receivers on the team that Charlie Jones just has to be a loser Charlie football is not really cracking the active roster in terms of a receiver he's just not doing it I thought that there was a chance that he could take over the slot roll for Tyler Boyd given his route running prowess but it's looking like it'll just be like Jamar Chase in the slot maybe some MRE yosis and then of course Germaine Burton's also starting to make some noise that there just seems to not really be enough room for Charlie Jones especially with Trenton Irwin still on the roster so with him only having one reception for three yards in the preseason it's it it kind of sucks you know there a lot of the other Bengals receivers outperformed him and uh yeah so Charlie Jones just a loser here unfortunately we wanted him to do well but he just didn't and uh injuries on top of just a PO performance was kind of soured the value on him and I'm not I mean it seems at this point he just belongs on the waiver wire the next big loser is Deshawn Watson and this is Loser #2 probably honestly The Biggest Loser in all of preseason this guy didn't play he didn't play at all which is normally okay for starters but not starters like deshun Watson who are not good at football anymore he has shown the last two seasons that he's just lost his fast ball and cannot perform at his former level and so to see him be held out all pre season is not what you want to see you want to see deshun Watson out there starting to work through the Kinks You know whether it be connecting with Jerry Judy his new receiver or even just running the offense in general and the reason he didn't play was shoulder soreness like it's just very very concerning again this is a player to me that I just do not think this guy's head is in the game and that's like it is what it is right like yes one of the more talented players that we've seen went before his controversy and since then he just isn't locked in I think it's very easy to say he's not locked in he's not playing well his head's not in the game whether be off the field issues just you know clouding his judgment too much on the field or just simply him sitting out so long and losing those in-games reps that year that he sat out just completely made him lose all momentum I don't know what it is but it's just there is something not right in Deshawn Watson's head and not even like with the controversy just genuinely he doesn't seem right in the head uh and he just does not seem locked into this doesn't seem to care for the team really everything that you want from a quarterback you just don't have it with DeShawn Watson to be held out to shoulder soreness like come on man come on we need like you need to be getting up to game speed this just makes you it makes us so much less confident and being able to expect him to bounce back when you're not even playing a little bit in the preseason I mean even Josh Allen got preseason action like this is ridiculous Anthony Richardson played in every game and he's coming off an injury like there are no excuses here for deshun Watson really at all uh and I'm not even G to try to crack one he's just a loser he's just a loser get jamus Winston while you can he's not maybe not jamus Winston doesn't even need to take over from like deshun Watson playing bad like deshun Watson could just he's been injured the past two years at the exact same time uh it's just it's concerning I will say Mark I am with you here I am with you here I do think that this is desha Watson's last chance I'm just not betting on it I'm just not betting on it like yes he's gonna give the shot this year there's no way in hell like if he goes out and sucks this year he's done like he's out of the league like I don't think another team would be take would be taking a chance on him even like the Browns will just eat that dead cap like he's still under contract for I think like two more seasons after this if I'm remembering correctly and it doesn't matter it just does not matter this guy is just not he's not the answer he isn't they paid him too much money and it was the most Cleveland Browns thing in history to do what they did by bringing him in and yeah I think it's jamus Winston uh I mean Tyler Huntley you know could probably end up like you know what it'll probably be this right something happens with deshun Watson Jam jamus Winston comes in for a few games and then just ends up having too many turnovers like jamus Winston does and then they'll pull the plug and go to Tyler Huntley I wouldn't be surprised if we see three different Browns quarterbacks this year actually that is a good point but I would just take the bet on jamus Winston at least first because he'll get the first crack at it and say what you want about his turnovers he does at least sling that ball and there are good weapons there David and joku Jerry Judy Amari Cooper to where he should at least SC some fantasy points but either way DeShaun Watson big loser another big loser and I understand that this is maybe going to come across as unpol not very politically correct you know maybe Loser #3 mean but it's CED Edwards hair Clyde Edwards hair I understand is battling PTSD right now lots of depression not really being able to find himself on the field but this is a fantasy football show and you know whatever the reason may be as valid as it may be he only had two carries for zero yards in his one game of preseason action and daic Prince Carson steel you know the other backup running backs are doing everything with their opportunity to try to crack the roster and climb up this depth chart ahead of this player so I understand that there are some off the field issues here with C but he's a Fantasy Football loser he just is I mean like he was already you know not really getting much opportunity in Kansas City had already lost a lot of trust from the coaching staff and no matter what the reason is he's still missing valuable time and Reps with the team and that's only going to affect him negatively as much as it sucks and I and I and it pains me to say and I you know my heart goes out to C of course again a fantasy football show and when you're not playing well at football and the other players behind you are yeah I mean like you've got to take note of it you just have to so Clyde Edwards hir unfortunately a fantasy football loser and another one another one this is Alec Pierce uh who it looks like I maybe didn't make an overlay for hold on let me find this let me find this I know I made one for Damen Pierce so maybe I just need to talk about Damen Pierce let me double check ah here he is here he is Loser #4 here's Alec Pierce Alec Pierce is a loser why not necessarily how he performed because actually he only had two receptions for 31 yards and both of those were from Anthony Richardson last week and he had you know gotten you know a good chunk of Anthony Richardson's passing yards in this game but on top of just being a un performer a no a literal zero performer throughout his NFL career up to this point you know minimal preseason production and then ad I Mitchell you know the player they drafted to replace him catches a touchdown from Anthony Richardson as well in this same game and is only going to steadily climb up from here so I understand that Alec Pierce was with the first team didn't get a ton of preseason action and actually looked okay had two receptions for 31 yards from Anthony Richardson he's still a loser because of what Anthony Richardson or not Anthony what Adonai Mitchell is starting to do we're already hearing it and seeing it eventually ad I Mitchell will take over for Alec pierce it might take you know Josh D to return first as it's looking like ad I Mitchell is kind of taking the slot from Josh DS right now but once Josh DS come back they'll move at Adan I Mitchell outside and probably de or Elevate him over Alec Pierce unfortunately um and yeah Alec Pierce a loser he just is another one's Roshan Johnson Roshan Johnson is a loser as Loser #5 well uh he had six carries and 24 yards as well as one reception for sevenard yards in the Hall of Fame game and then made no noise at all the rest of preseason khil Herbert at least looked pretty decent in his action DeAndre Swift has looked decent in his action even velis Jones last week had a 100 rushing yards with limited touches as well Roshan Johnson unfortunately hasn't really shown enough uh didn't get much action what and that could end up being a positive who really knows but I'm GNA put it as a negative given his action was in the Hall of Fame game and to see the other running backs on this chart get a little bit more opportunity and production you've got to start being concerned about Roshan Johnson especially with his big plus being that he can catch passes better than khil Herbert that's not the big thing anymore now he has to figure out how to catch better passes than DeAndre Swift and even maybe arguably velis Jones is again velis Jones is a wide receiver now being used as a running back and on special teams like that's a player that ends up on the roster more often than not unfortunately for a player like Roshan Johnson and with DeAndre Swift there looking pretty decent with that one game with C Williams and Roshan Johnson not looking that great in the Hall of Fame game I am getting concerned about Roshan and I pegging him a pre-season loser another one Ricky peaw and this Loser #6 one's you know injuries it's injuries it is what it is the guy got injured uh early in training camp or not in training camp in the off season and then returned for practice got injured again no preseason action but while he was out Jacob coing looked incredible I mean the guy looked so so good and with there not really being any development on the iuk situation it's just looking like Ricky piol is not really going to see the field this year uh yes it was due to injuries which sucks but it seems that his injury as it has been reported now is a degenerative shoulder injury that they you know already knew about heading into the draft and just hoped wouldn't get worse uh and that's just not what you want to hear especially if now we're hearing different injuries Jacob coing the other rookie is a mega producer from college and just a really good route Runner looking good in the preseason as well it's going to be hard for Ricky peol to work himself back he did return to practice this week so that's good news for him at least but he is still wearing non- contct Jersey so there's an issue there with Ricky peaw there just is which means he's a Fantasy Football loser he's a preseason loser and we probably shouldn't be drafting him for redraft to be honest it's looking like Brandon auk's gonna be back and it'll take injuries and even then who knows what type of volume he'll get or even if he can stay healthy so Ricky pi saw a loser another loser my sanders uh he Loser #7 only had three carries for six yards in one game but we're seeing Mike Boone uh and other players that like even Dylan Johnson he had like a 100 yard game before getting recut by them but my sanders will probably still end up on the Panthers roster just because they don't clear at much cap space for moving on from him today but still did not look good in the preseason they're cycling in a bunch of different running backs it's looking like he's not really going to be leaned on at all and it's just going to be there on the team or I mean he could still end up being cut or maybe traded or something we'll see but either way he's a preseason loser he's not gonna do anything chuba hub's ahead of him and then of course when Jonathan Brooks comes back he'll be ahead of him too my sanders is one of the biggest fall from Graces we've seen in recent memory I mean to go from such a huge season in Philadelphia to then just literally losing the job to chuba HUB very quickly in Carolina uh it's just he's not that good at football unfortunately and he didn't look good in his one preseason game three carries for six yards a loser miles Sanders another player that we could Loser #8 talk about is Calvin Austin Calvin Austin seemingly was the Deep threat for the Pittsburgh Steelers but we're just not seeing it really he had three targets brought in two of them for 49 yards so still being used as the Deep guy but so are some other players and everything we're hearing from training camp and stuff is that van Jefferson's ahead of him in the depth chart and Calvin Austin really isn't being utilized a ton uh so he's a loser here you know you you he was the Deep shot guy and it looks like he's lost that but then even if he does get that there's not going to be a lot of it going his way you know George Pickins Pat Fri M the running backs like there's just not really enough to go around but it's seeming that he's not even getting even that role on this team it's looking like it'll be van Jefferson uh so Calvin Austin a loser another loser Donovan peoples Jones I honestly can't believe Loser #9 it he had that one good season Cleveland a couple years ago then they moved on from him shipped him to Detroit and now he's being Dr like cut he got cut he got cut yesterday uh and didn't do anything really in the preseason at all so that's probably why he ended up getting cut but it really sucks Donan peop Jones you know made some noise in Cleveland and started to establish himself and couldn't even make it really on the hometown team in Michigan uh I there's an issue there I sure another team will take a shot on him uh we'll see what ends up happening in fact in fact hold on guys we might we might have something here Donovan peoples [Music] Jones did he work H maybe not when did he graduate from Michigan 2020 did he have Jim Harbaugh I think he had Jim Harbaugh so anyway maybe he'll go to La maybe he'll go to La I feel like he had Jim Harbaugh if he went to the draft in 2020 yeah yeah why did I have to think that hard on it time flies holy Jim Harbaugh was signed in 2015 God that's right God that is crazy time flies anyway maybe dpj will go to the Chargers or something but either way didn't look that good in the preseason lost his job to like Doris Fountain not good not good stuff another loser and we all knew this was coming or at least I knew it was coming Johnny Loser #10 Wilson Johnny Wilson started to make some noise in training camp as a Red Zone threat we didn't see it at all got targeted three times throughout preseason brought in one of them for seven yards and the Eagles ended up going out and trading for Johan doson just so they wouldn't have to see this man on the football field he's really just unfortunately not that good when I watched him at the Senior Bowl I could just tell he's not an NFL caliber wide receiver even if he has the height he doesn't really play like that at all uh so uh Johnny Wilson a big loser here uh Eagles adding wide receiver Talent Plus him not really looking that good big loser Johnny Wilson another one dway Loser #11 McBride this player got cut as well um he 20 carries and 68 yards in the preseason just not good 20 carries 68 yards really not that great ends up being cut he got outperformed by Miles gasin you understand what that means yesterday we talked about miles Gaskin as a winner uh because again there you know the rb3 on the Vikings could end up being relevant uh but I also understand that miles gasin is not the best running back in the world and to see that he beat out D way McBride and then D way McBride got cut I think that's a screaming indictment unfortunately uh and not sure what happens for McBride here but a big loser from the preseason is him another one Damian Pierce Damen Loser #12 Pierce uh is a loser Damen Pierce unfortunately had a great rookie season and has not done anything since in the preseason he only had eight carries for nine yards not good jair Jordan looked fine Joe mixon's back and cam Acres looks incredible like Damen Pierce could end up being a roster cut casualty to be honest uh is not looking good at the very least is going to find himself buried on the depth chart he belongs on the waiver wire sayara Damen Pierce and Loser #13 also sayara Elijah Moore I think it's finally time to everyone just move on from him I know we're very excited after his rookie season but he was sent to Cleveland for a reason and he's been buried on this depth chart for a reason 15 Cleveland Browns had more receiving yards than elah Moore in the preseason Elijah Moore had two Targets brought in one of them for seven yards Michael Woods Jamari thrash Cedric Tillman James prochet these receivers all outperformed him and could find themselves in a very similar spot right this wide receiver three uh it's probably just going to end up being a group kind of filling in in different times really Elijah Moore didn't look that good the rest of the Browns looked better Elijah Moore a loser from the preseason and another one is Trey Palmer Trey Loser #14 Palmer unfortunately has lost his job to Jaylen McMillan and in the preseason only had two receptions for 31 yards like he is the wide receiver four now which is fine I mean if anything happens to Mike Evans he could come in but you know all the Steam for Trey Palmer's gone you know in the offseason before they drafted Jaylen McMillan it was Trey Palmer season we're all very excited for the year two breakout but then they draft McMillan he's quiet all throughout training camp makes no noise in the preseason unfortunately for Trey Palmer he's finding himself on the way out uh and there I that's really it unfortunately he's he's a loser here he's buried in a depth chart that's already pretty hefty uh and not really going to see the field too much and it's going to take an injury on top of not performing well in the preseason Trey Palmer finds himself as a loser and the final loser the final loser this one's Loser #15 not even a player this is a group there's going to be an issue here in Atlanta guys as an Atlanta Falcons fan I am worried there is no depth on this team there is absolutely zero depth on this team zero not a zilch not a single dep on this team it is studs and then it is nothing it is there is no in between here there's no role players really it is disgusting when you look at the players who performed well for the Falcons over the preseason I'm actually just going to pull it up let's see can I just look at yeah the football database thank you Jace mclen Spencer Brown and Carlos Washington led the Falcons and rush yards Chris Blair Jesse Matthews Dylan Drummond and John Fitzpatrick were some of the leaders in receptions for the Falcons just not encouraging yes there's Casey Washington who started to make some noise that's the rookie it kind of ends there and it looks like he's even going to be starting in three wide receiver sets maybe four depending on how they use Kyle pittz and that's an issue Casey Washington's not that like he's fine and he's definitely worth a dart throw but I am beyond terrified if any injury happens to any Falcons player it's going to be a huge issue let alone multiple injuries the only depth they have is the quarterback position because they reached for Michael penics like if Kyle pittz goes down there's nothing if Drake London goes down there's nothing if bejon goes down sure there's Tyler alir but then there's nothing after that there's huge concerns for me at the Falcons deth no one looked good this team looked pretty bad in the preseason I'm not gonna lie and yeah I'm just concerned I am just concerned as a Falcons fan for what this depth means for the team as a whole as the season gets uh you know drags on as we get closer to the end of the season like any player missing I think it's just going to hurt this team so much so the big honestly probably The Biggest Loser is Falcon's death chart like it is concerning to say the least that should do it though those are the 15 losers from the pre-season I'm Q&A going to hop into the chat real quick and see available in this round what are you talking about I'm like I looked at ADP and the problem is ADP just does not matter at this point of the season to be completely honest with you uh yeah I guess there's honestly not a ton of questions here uh to be honest cool uh I will say I will say everyone uh if you are interested I'm gonna go ahead and preface this I'm just going to go ahead and say it
