right and that's when you can start to play yourself into the game once you get more confidence now following up on that as we see this one go across the end line you see both teams trying to get to their identity maybe struggling to get to that identity uh what's the best way for them to find a flow to the game you just need to play Simple right you need to do the simple things extremely well at a very high level and then when you start to start to understand that you can start to express yourself and gain more confidence that's when you can start to take chances especially high up the field but if you're talking about this back line decision making for both sides is going to be really important fley will play it wide good move along the near sideline by lson and now a takeway by Miami really good recovery from Gro as she understands zendall gets beat she drops down does her defensive duties at a very high level but Larson has shown she can be a threat for Missouri here in this near side working on the far side of the field throw for the Miami Hurricanes Nicholson with a touch Nicholson with a little bit of operating room here Nicholson making her fourth start of the season you notice as Miami plays back so fully now Missouri understand they can press a little bit higher and try to force turnovers higher up the field so if you are this backline for kener and the University you do play into her now you afford the players around her to support her high up the field and just regain some of that real State they' been pinned back for the first 12 minutes here will not be surprised if we see Ken Missi tell his back line just to play a little bit more direct and higher up the field Carney sends it deep Gallagher gets to it for Miami Larson for Missouri hurricanes really squeezing there in the sideline no place for Missouri to go both teams have been offensively starve this year Miami's had a lot of shots lots of opportunities what could one goal do for the morale of either side be massive for their confidence when you look at what the head coaches have been both trying to do trying to find the back of the net the bigger problem would be if they weren't creating higher up the field you get a structure sound defensively understanding who you want to be on both sides of the ball when without the ball how tight and compact can you be but when you're on your ball now you're asking your girls just to be a little bit more confident to take the chances cuz we've seen through the stats the University of Miami does really well at creating opportunities but now it's that next step and the hardest thing to do in this game is to score goals little over 18 minutes to go first half here in Coral Gables Landers just entered the freay nice job clearing the pressure trying to split two Miami Defenders Landers lays it off the rookie sends it in I think one of the challenges when you're not scoring is there's such a fine margin for error so if you have a defensive turnover as we saw last week where uh a ball deflect the wrong way and you concede a goal you played so hard for so long without scoring and then the smallest of mistakes ends up costing you big on the scoreboard exactly and it's really prevalent when you're speaking about an ACC conference and SEC as well just the talent is so high so every little mistake you're going to get punished line margins are the massive difference especially when you're talking about how competitive both of these conferences are do think if you are Stephanie Golan the head coach for Missouri you're asking your girls to be clean in the back in terms of not only on the ball but understanding they're spacing as well you cannot get beat too easily with the ball over the top and for University of Miami yes you want to play pretty soccer and attractive soccer you have to understand there's no need to try to force the issue into a traffic area when Missouri is pressing High the risk versus reward Factor needs middle of the field plays it off to her right side carry outside the box with a 1 V one carry cross to the far post leaping through the air a Miami Hurricane just couldn't get up on it but Miami will get a corner kick out of this really good decision from Carrie understanding you have a lot of bodies and around that 18 Yard Box put the ball into the mixer not someone run on to it miam here is Al so instinctual from Canali talked about her coming in to this match already one goal on the season make that a double but as an attacking player creating your own space and understanding Where You Are in around that 18 yard box is everything she picks up her set head no one closes down the space why not have a go and call your own number simply just closed up her hips at the last second and there's no chance for the goalkeeper to make any play on it tuck to Perfection away 38th minute Canali scores for one go and un lead for Miami we mentioned when she came into the game she's a real spark Point yeah she's a focal point going forward whether it is the mobility that she brings with her to pull center backs out of position but also the quality with the ball at her feet can beat you through one V one but can also beat you through combination play young lady has everything in her locker and she's shown she can be a game changer for the canes so Miami gets a goal on their home pitch for one aggressive in offense this year and they finally got their reward Canali has been the best player on the field for and here we go the second half is underway Edwards pokes at it played wide for k then aggressive but you understand in a controlled sense because you do not want to overextend yourself and leave yourself vulnerable going back the other way cuz we've shown or Missouri has shown how dangerous they can be in transitional moments so understanding that if you do pick and shoes to be aggressive you need to provide coverage going back kan's are under a little bit of pressure here from they thinking about with Gro I think you're looking for a little clipped ball to the back post bring Rambo not surprised if you see a lot of the University of Miami players strike across that near poost to bring their Defenders with them to open up some space for a secondary run massive opportunity here to get their second goal this evening Gro and endall it'll be Gro off the left foot lowline drive and Miami's got a goal a second one that one skips in past the goalie halach and the hurricanes have a second goal off the free kick Rambo a lowline drive threads it through a thick of of Defenders put the ball in a dangerous area and you will get rewarded we've talked about it all evening Joe how important set pieces are Homer away defensively and offensively just look at the bodies as you slash across that near post he ca just a little bit of chaos that's all you need in around that 18 yard box it's a fantastic delivery from Gro and it's an uh- oh moment for Missouri player but yet University of Miami will take it as they double their lead moments into this second half that might have been off the foot of sprigs perhaps Grano will take it might be an own goal but terrific play by Gro those types of passes are a nightmare for any defensive unit to deal with because as your body position is face towards your defending goal any mistake the ball can unfortunately just pop into the back your net and as a goalkeeper you can't come off your line they're hauling back misser has to be really pleased with the response coming out of the break from his girls goes down officially as an own goal but all set up by Rambo so it's a twoo to n lead now for Miami a little bit of breathing room putting a little distance between them and their opponent a really good save from Foley ni you would expect this Missouri side just to get out of their shell a little bit and go and Chase the game be a little bit more aggressive in their nature and their the decision- making and really test this back line for the Hurricanes corner for the Tigers High rainbow shot comes in Springs trying to make up for the own goal Well's that one over the top of the crossbar just has balance a tad bit off the way that she runs up to it she hits it well but you need to have your shoulders over the ball because if you do now you have the ability to keep it underneath the crossbar that last second she sends her head up and that's why it goes up and over the crossbar two goal lead now for the University of Miami now does Ken Mur have to make any kind of adjustments seems like they've been emphasizing trying to create the identity of a more offense a more attractive style but now a two goal lead I think it goes back to balance because if you are Ken Mur you you want your girls to continue to see the ball hit the back of the net to continue getting themsel in the Rhythm but understanding that the result is the most important thing here so now defending is going to be the the top priority and if you can make it a little bit of more of a transitional meat that's going to play into the hands of University of Miami now the emphasis is when you recover the ball your first pass needs to be forward because as Missouri is going to start to chase the game they're going to throw numbers a lot more higher so that can leave them exposed going back to the way so if you're University in Miami your first pass needs to be positive temperature about 84° here in Coral Gables the humidity is probably about 110 Missouri will have to deal with those elements as well fully looking for a clean sheet here tonight it would be a big night clean sheet for Foley a win for the [Music] Hurricanes first win for Coach Mur can't script it any better and there they going be a tough night for Missouri that's a long flight home especially if you are Stephy Golan you're looking for a reaction from your girls last time out dropping a game 2-n as well come down to South Florida kick from Grano and own goal by Missouri and miamis in front two goals to n so after the delay I think the team's kept busy through the darkness seemed like every single player on the field juggling passing keeping thems warm gillo trying to win a race down the near side good bit of Defending by Miami it's going to be really interesting Joe to look to see how both of these sides respond from that little bit of a delay because if you are Ken misser probably comes out the worst time you just got your second goal the momentum was on your side you're getting yourself into a rhythm for Missouri and Stephanie Golan you're probably very pleased at the timing and the Lights Went Out be able to press the reset button and slow the game down and take it away from University of Miami for Missouri long one comes in catches the side net no harm Missouri trying to find a way to unlock the Hurricanes defense right now trailing by two goals have something Brewing here oh nice back heel play well done by Miami to clear that pressure just need to be a little bit tighter if you are University of Miami in your defensive lines Missouri's finding some success when they move the ball quickly from left to right especially right on top of that 18 yard box so how dangerous Fischer can be for Missouri if you're Miami you can't fall asleep on fiser plays a very similar Ro role for Missouri es Canali does for University of Miami the ability to create on her own but also as she requires so much attention the understanding that there is going to be a secondary player open two players that are to decode the University of Miami it's really well done from University of Miami just to slow the game down take it away from Missouri and not try to over complicate things [Applause] hurricanes on the Move look like kazari coming up the near side kazari breaking in just outside the box off the left foot gets a little bit of a deflection as his ball comes out for gazari you need to take that first touch towards gold because if you do you cut down the angle for Springs that up back and through action from University of Miami has shown that you can find success and joy if you play quick and you play decisive into your front line and then now you're asking your players from the wide portions of the field to be a little bit more vertical in nature couple of sub coming on now for missou Dy comes back on Dy played well in the first half for the Tigers it Canada with a takeaway Canada's trying to oppose her will on this game she's been really active and very bright in the central location for Missouri we saw moments ago how clever she can be making that deep ly run watch out here and those are the ones that are really hard to track because you need to have a lot of communication and passing players off especially when you have Playmakers on the wide parts of the field inside of 30 minutes to go now two goal lead for Miami game getting a little choppy here the last five minutes no real flow for either side but if you are Stephanie Golan the head coach for Missouri you will take it because now you get to be able to stop the clock get bodies higher up the field and a free service into a dangerous area here it comes fley right there again knocks it down gathers it in having a good night and goal for Miami and she's been really impressive making every save that she needs to make but also heard decision-making and that's the most important piece as a goalkeeper if you do decide to come off your line you need to be able to make a play on the pul she's answered every single
