Introduction and Miami's Victory The Bear Of Texas (00:02.094)
Okay everybody, are we ready for verdict number two of the day? Another rather
unique sports verdict? The Miami Hurricanes destroying the Florida Gators? Well, here we
go. 41 to 17. You know, and I don't even know what the big story is out of this whole situation.
The Gators being destroyed at home at the swamp. or the fact that a ninth -year senior tie
-it -in Cam McCormick scored Miami's first touchdown of the season. Cam McCormick,
the longest tenured player in the history of college football in his ninth year. I
didn't even know that was a thing. I didn't even know that was possible to be eligible
to play college football for that long. But understanding the injury history and all
the issues going back to the freaking pandemic, it makes sense. I just never thought that
this would happen, even if it could happen because of these particular situations. And
believe it or not, according to Yahoo Sports, the score is McCormick's of course, his
first as a Miami player, but only the fifth touchdown he scored as a collegiate football
player. And that play was a thing of beauty. 26 years old and again the longest tenured
player in the history of college football. Cam McCormick's Remarkable Story This guy McCormick is less than a
month younger than Justin Herbert, the quarterback of the LA Chargers who's now
entering his fifth year in the National Football League. That ladies and gentlemen is crazy.
And of course McCormick and Herbert know each other very well from their time playing
together at the University of Oregon. They were both members of the recruiting
recruiting class in 2016. Now McCormick retarded 2016, but did play in 2017
appearing in every game. In 2018, he would suffer a season ending ankle
injury in the first game of the season and went up missing the entire 2019 season too,
because he had several surgeries and of course, 2020 the pandemic and the shortened
season and everything going on. The Bear Of Texas (02:18.542)
Doesn't end there in 2021. A season ending Achilles injury, only two
games into the 2021 season and in 2022 appeared in 13 games for Oregon where he made 10
catches for 66 yards, scored three touchdowns. Man. Transferred to the University of Miami
last year and actually had eight catches for 62 yards last season. Granted a ninth
season of eligibility over the off season to make a decision to return for one final
season in 2024. Man. But it's just, know, it's interesting. Now it's telling
me he those three touchdowns in that season. Then you know, it's said that
he scored his fifth in college, so. I've had one in 2016 and 2017 that
this article didn't say but man But the whole Cam McCormick story,
man, that is absolutely incredible. The Bear Of Texas (03:21.966)
Speaking of well, you know from a Cormac that was actually his only
catch of this game too. So Hmm. So you know what he made it count now for the
wide receiving quarter Xavier was stripo seven catches 112 yards for one touchdown
average 16 yards per catch Elijah Arroyo Miami's Strong Offense four catches 89 yards man and averaging 22
yards per catch This Miami team looks great Quarterback Cameron Ward, 26 for 35, three
touchdowns and one interception. Look at the Gators, Graham Mertz, 11 for 20, 91 yards, no
touchdowns and one interception. Both quarterbacks who came to this game had one interception each.
The running game was a bit solid. Montrell Johnson rushed for 11 carries for 106 yards, one
touchdown, averaged about 10 yards per carry. You know, this Florida team just could not
get anything going. I they were one for nine on third down. One for nine on third down. And
Miami amassed 529 yards of total offense. Man, over close to 150 yards on the ground as well, an average about eight yards per play. Miami
just looked absolutely incredible. Man. And I gotta look at some of stalt, some of the
ineffectiveness from this Florida offense. The Florida Gators, for them to be blown out in
a season opener, this is something that I'm not used to seeing. I'm sure it's happened before,
but in my case, unless I'm just not remembering it well. I don't remember the last time the Florida
Gators lost a game this bad to open a season. Florida Gators' Offensive Struggles And Gator fans aren't just not happy at
all So I'll say some of them are just not not surprised at this You know as I was
talking about you know the previous one how later this season the Florida Gators
will play the Texas Longhorns in Austin man You know and quickly taking a quick
look The last season I last season they start off with a loss at the University
of Utah 24 to 11 You know and last season The Bear Of Texas (05:50.734)
The Gators were awful last season. This is probably why many are not surprised.
The Gators only had five wins last season. mean that 24 to 15 loss of Florida State. I mean
that was an interesting game. And of course, know that man that big blowout loss, you
know to Georgia. Man. They did have that big win over the University of
Tennessee number 11, Tennessee, but. The Florida Gators were just horrible last
season, but it seems. It's certainly you know. It's certainly not just coming
in with f***ing season as well. still you know still it's only one game
so we should we'll have to get you know to carry it away next game get Samford I
mean that's that's that's that shouldn't even be a problem now the Gators actually came
in this season a corner this their odds to win the national championship of you know went
from 50 to 1 to 25 to 1 but you know man Looking Ahead for Florida: Texas A&M and Florida State Would imagine that that's for the Hurricanes. I
mean, you know for the for the Florida Gators I mean, I think the Florida Gators
went from 250 and one so Gators, you know, I don't think the Gators have been
favored to win the national championship in a long time My nose I'm looking to scare. they
got Texas a name The 14th of next month. I'm certainly looking looking forward to that one
a rematch against Tennessee I mean play number one Jordan before you know, that and that's the
week before they go they travel to awesome take The Bear Of Texas (07:26.403)
day. The Bear Of Texas (07:30.766)
I could you imagine... and Florida State, know, coming in that game, ranked number 10.
So could you imagine... Florida State and the Florida Gators both being extremely
mediocre in this game? You know, I've talked about this with the playmaker before,
and he has told me that if both teams were to come to this game mediocre... it's gonna be
a game that probably nobody wants to see. Now, Darnell is right, but honestly, about it like
this as well. If both teams were so bad... It's very possible that many people will just
tune in to see which team is only worse. So imagine you have two mediocre teams in the
Florida Gators and the Florida State Seminoles and both teams are so bad, no, people
are gonna see just which team is worse. The Bear Of Texas (08:19.19)
is not so So despite the Gators, you know, not very very good and of course, you
know, the fact is, you know, one of my fifth grade teachers Huge fan of the Florida Gators I'll
never forget in her classroom all the Florida Gators memorabilia that she had when it was
game when it was game week, you know Wearing the shirt on the jerseys on the Fridays. boy in
Florida in Florida lost. Yeah that Monday. boy man, I don't remember. I believe she's
a she is a graduate of the University of Florida. I don't remember it's just
been so long but Fifth fifth grade teacher I had by any pretty good
luck. She's listening, you know, She was such an amazing teacher wonderful
lady would love to catch up with her but The Bear Of Texas (09:16.398)
So guys if you're upset and here I am in this episode look, this is only
something that you would advise me keep doing so don't hold anything against me. So kind
looking at through the play -by -play now, you know I try to watch as much as I could
as I was watching the Longhorn game. know, it's funny because after Florida gave up
that touchdown and after two straight punts The Gators actually got the ball
back off a turnover that they forced, which they turned out to a field goal.
But when the Miami Hurricanes returned that favor and made it 10 -3, and then
Florida suffered a turnover on downs, which Miami turned into a touchdown, that's
when things were starting to get a little bit out of hand. But when the Florida
Gators cut the lead to 17 -10, man, no, I thought that the game was still on, but Miami
immediately responded to double the lead again. And you know, on the first
drive of the second half, well, the Hurricanes drove down the field and
made it 31 to 10. Then the Gators punted and then it was 38 to 10 and it was game over.
So what happened for the Florida offense? The Florida offense could not click. They
could not get anything going. They were just putting and putting and putting and the Miami
Hurricanes were just taking advantage of it. So therefore it's safe to say that the
Florida Gators are just bad. They are bad. The Bear Of Texas (10:51.822)
Well with Miami ranked number 19, I Who knows? mean if they could climb up the
ranks, I mean maybe a shot at the national championship Maybe not would wouldn't be
maybe two out of the question But that's considering that they could be over the
problem is I mean look at all these all these opponents that they have moving forward
I mean, these are not ranked teams, but now Florida the unit to me the University of Miami
They don't need to win national championship deficit a successful season But you know the
next game they have is against Florida a man They got ball state they got South Florida
You know right now from the looks of it The next game that they have that's that's
gonna mean a lot is against it's Florida State Of course, you know that that's a huge rivalry.
So and I was you know, just talking about Florida State versus Florida so so we all saw on the Yeah,
so not long from now in in October October 26th Florida State at the you man and right now I'm
concerned that Florida is still ranked in that time, you know Florida came in ranked number
10 I mean the the new rankings have to come up yet Man that lost the Georgia Tech Boat, of
course, never forget that that 63 to 3 loss to the Georgia. Yeah So, yeah, I was talking to
the Florida State Florida game could still be interesting some curious if the Miami Hurricanes
off the win against the Florida State Seminoles football rivalry but that remains to be seen.
The Miami Hurricanes I think this is gonna be a good season definitely got some potential
so they really got quickly got rid of the University of Florida so we'll see how things go
but honestly right now I think from looks of it Miami could actually may possibly go undefeated
but you never know but you know Cam Warren you know he mentioned his Miami debut you know very
very happy with it I mean three touch I mean Tossing through touchdowns. mean that that's a
very way good way to do it and again the big story of cam McCormick nine years in college football,
so And I say how that goes and if cam McCormick the next step is to fight if finding a job at the
NFL and seeing if How long that goes so you know what there's still a lot to the story and well,
we'll see how things go Ladies and gentlemen, this has been another rather unique
sports verdict. I hope you enjoyed it The Bear Of Texas (13:19.638)
I hope that well I'd like for you to leave your thoughts down below in the
comment section kind of lost my train of thought for a second. Leave your thoughts down
below in the comment section. What to expect in the University of Florida moving forward, the
Miami Hurricanes. Any early thoughts between the Gators and the Seminoles even though we're
months away but still everybody's already looking forward to it. Will the Gators
