Inside the Disturbing Allegations Against Swiss Model Kristina Joksimovic's Husband

me gizz K this is Grizzly True Crime and today we're going to be talking about a case that is now based on my new home country local to me it's about 2 hours away from where I stay and it is so so sad and so shocking so we're going to be going through a presentation I'm going to show you some video clips I'll show you the map as well just so that you all know where it is so guten abent to anyone months all right so we are going to Switzerland today and that's where I Where did this happen? stay now in Switzerland a lot of people confuse Switzerland with Sweden um but Sweden is all the way up here okay and so if you look at the the map here of Europe you can see the boot most of you know the boot is uh you know Italy Italian boot is here here's Monaco all right so here's Italy here's France here's Germany and here's Switzerland it's not a big country at all so this is a real local shock this is very shocking there's not a lot of crime that happens in swizzin and this one is horrendous but what I will say is yes trigger warning uh this case does contain of course the usual True Crime topics we talk about like murder this one though dismemberment and all sorts but also domestic violence so what I was going to say is that domestic violence it looks the same worldwide the patterns are the same curs of control looks the the same and it's absolutely devastating uh Queen sometimes people use it DV distress signal as a distress signal in general like you know if it's a situation where you need someone to call the police if you need urgent help if you've been abducted if something makes you feel really uncomfortable that's the signal okay so I always share it when we talk about DV cases all right so Switzerland this is um Switzerland if we zoom in now I hope you can see properly right you can see nicely so if we zo zoom in here is this Zurich area all right that's kind of around where I stay um and meaning Zur it's a Canton it's kind of like Switzerland's the country and then there's these different cantons which are municipalities and you know so I don't know how quite I to explain it um cuz it's kind of like Switzerland's the country and then these different little little States but it's more like provinces so if you're South African it's more like little provinces right anyway so what where it happened was I just quick want to make sure I don't I just want to see this map that I have here for you yeah okay that's fine so this map I took us from Z Hof and if you go on the train this crime actually happened um in bingan which is an area in Basel so I actually found the street as well around here Basel L shaft I'm going to probably have to say a lot of German words today I really have to work on my German I'm busy learning German so Basel um is over here here's the Ry River as you could see Germany is just across the border and so it all took place in benan Basel Switzerland right so benan is like kind of like if I could explain it the little village Basel would be the The Province the Canton and then it's in Switzerland okay so if we look at it like that there we go all right just so that you know now we're going to do the presentation so hold on one second okay so a very important thing to Why isn't the perpetrator's name published? know is that it's very different Swiss uh well European privacy laws and swiss privacy laws it's very different to the USA which is why you know sometimes people say like why don't you cover trials from your own country or from Europe because because they don't do that they don't generally sometimes they do stream trials like in South Africa but like generally it's very different there's no mug shots and things like that and the Swiss privacy laws I had to look into this as well because I found it interesting that they're not naming the perpetrator at all they're calling him Thomas and in all the reports it's Thomas like this I'm like okay but who's Thomas now I know that there may be some people that know the victim and so they might actually know the name of the guy and I've had a few people email as well making some connections from my Instagram and I understand that but the last thing I want to do is um get arrested in Switzerland okay I want to stick to the rules so the thing is Swiss privacy laws they say normally the victim's name and photographs are usually redacted like this this is what the local articles look like okay I to use um Google translate a little bit there okay this is this is what it's normally redacted like this okay and so the victim's name and photographs are usually redacted but this victim was a wellknown Miss Switzerland finalist so it quickly became known exactly who she was the perpetrator's name is redacted a pseudonym Thomas is being used and there are no mug shots public documents public live streams press conferences and things like that okay so just to keep you in the loop now I do also want to send condolences to one of our very own one of our team members is Swiss right he's from Switzerland Stefan um is one of our fa moderators and he actually was friends with this lady it is devastating and many people were very shocked of course because initially when they released the Articles locally they redacted the victim's face and they called her Ivana and they called the guy Thomas And So It even you know when Stefan was reading it it took a while to be like wait what like you know he didn't realize initially it's it's his friend until seeing it on you know as this case grew and seeing it on many other media reports and now law and crime is also reported it and it's gone quite um it's gotten quite popular this case worldwide shame so I'm so sorry Stefan for the loss of your friend um thankfully Stefan was able to help me translate some of the excerpts from the documents which was very helpful we don't have access to the actual documents but there are excerpts and it's all in Swiss German German obviously here the national languages are German French and Italian so thank you so much Stefan for helping me with that without Stefan this episode would not be the same and he also was able to find me some really beautiful photos of the victim as well so okay so it's it's really close to home not only do I live in this country but one of our um OG's Stefan has been a subscriber since I think Stefan you said 658 subscribers he been with us a long time it's one of his friends that he knew right so okay so now that we've got the Swiss privacy laws out the way please don't say the perpetrator's name in the chat if you know the name because that will just get me in trouble you know okay so I hope I say her name right Christina Jo simovich I think is that how you say her surname right Christina Jo simovich was born on April 15th of Who was Kristina Joksimovic? 1985 in bingan which is in Basel Switzerland she has Serbian Roots because a lot of people say well where's she from cuz her surname doesn't quite sound Swiss she has got Serbian roots but she was born in Switzerland she was Swiss National and of course um yeah so was her husband right oh wow there's lots of Swiss people here now um so said I'm in the Italian part of Switzerland welcome to any Swiss watching you it might be your first time we don't have a large Swiss audience I hope to so so born in benan which is in Basel Switzerland she has Serbian Roots she was only 38 years old and a mother of two little girls they look young I don't know the exact ages but I would guess like three and five or something like that oh no these two little girls allegedly it's the father you know her husband that murdered her so now again it's a case like that just makes me so angry you know now again two little girls they don't have their parents so my goodness I'm not too sure where they are or how that works in Switzerland but I know that her mother according to the media reports that are local um apparently her mother was staying with them and so I'm hoping they're safe and okay with her right um cookie dough hangover said y simovich like yo not Joo thank you okay Christina y simovich thank you so much I really appreciate that okay so in 2003 Christina was crowned Miss Northwest Switzerland that's how she's well known and that's also why people know about her you know her pictures and her identity even though initially this case was kept very low profile right so she was crowned Miss Northwest Switzerland and in 2008 she was actually a finalist in the miss Switzerland pageant she was a very successful businesswoman and mother and absolutely stunning okay so in September of 2017 Christina got married to a man in the media referred to as Thomas he is 41 years old and Christina had just turned 38 years old this year they have two young daughters together and lived in a that's supposed to be two words a spacious semi-detached house in a in the wealthy area of Basel he was um an entrepreneur so there's a picture that was posted the middle one there from August of 20123 you could see how young the girls are you could see how small those kids are and what a beautiful wedding as well look at that oh my goodness now in 2007 Christina founded the Consulting and coaching agency called catwalker coach with a goal of helping women to feel more self confident she coached women in business Cat Walk Coach and in the modeling industry on how to sit walk and talk to be their most confident self she trained Dominic rinda who went on to win Miss Switzerland in 2013 and then she competed in the Miss Universe Pageant she was also a passionate it and HR recruiter who worked for Google and then worked for an IT company uh Earnie from 2013 to the end of 2017 one of the things this is her um slogan that's on her Instagram page high heels expert motivator entrepreneur and mom so um Stefan had actually worked with her for quite some time and um you know she's got a long career history and all successful and you know just said she was so passionate about this catwalk coach that she wanted women to feel really confident in the business world because she knew that they weren't quite as confident as maybe the men you know it could sometimes be like male dominated Industries and she wanted them to walk confidently stand proud you know and I just think that's a very a very beautiful thing a really great project as well you know so she talked about that a lot and she did that in conjunction with all the other things she was doing I mean she was a mom of two with a business she'd worked for many years in different um you know U at different jobs like recruiting for Google and recruiting in it companies and all of that I mean she's amazing now friends describe her as someone who was extremely friendly accurate detail orientated passionate about empowering other women they also say that she was very helpful and always went the extra mile for others she was a How friends describe her beautiful person always smiling and a wonderful friend to many in the 200 seven report in Swiss Outlet 20 men so I guess 20 minutes like I guess I means 20 minutes she described herself as down to earth she said she loved reading playing volleyball watching films based on real stories and documentaries and said that she thought that her hands were the most beautiful part of her body so you might think well why would she be saying that but she was being interviewed for um those pageants that she was competing in so that's why they would have probably asked her well what would you say is the most beautiful part of your body and she said I think my hands so my goodness I just redacted the child's face there as well to protect them now while some have described the couple as having what seemed like the perfect relationship a friend told local media that their relationship had been in What was her relationship with her husband like? crisis for months and that police had previously been called to the home due to reports of domestic violence so apparently he had choked her several times before and as I always when I talk about domestic violence cases I'm sure if you've been here a while you know I'm always going to a quote Laura Richard she's an expert in this field domestic violence Cove control stalking honor based killing all of that right and I did her University accredited course and in it she said that what in a in a devv relationship once someone puts their hands on your neck it's never going to deescalate from there it's only going to get worse so if anyone ever does that if it's you know don't like you you got to run you got to leave safely of course but it will never in general DV relationships don't get better it's best to leave safely right but especially if they're choking you and in this case that is it's just so devastating because like from everything I've studied about domestic violence it's like it's like a statistic just about just saying well it's a pattern like he was doing that and the DV was increasing escalating he'd apparently choked her multiple times and the police had been out there and it ends up that he strangled her you know thank you for sharing that uh perel yes say for D awareness if you guys didn't know we have an emoji for that so if you didn't know what that is the purple ribbon is for DV awareness Jennifer fox says exactly G relle says look at those loving pictures guess pictures do not tell the story yeah that's another thing you know pictures on social media they don't tell the story I mean it looks absolutely stunning they look so happy and it's so beautiful but unfortunately they was um Trouble behind the scenes so yeah there just some pictures of the guy that I guess the media have found you know so this is out there it's public information but they're still calling him Thomas right now a little bit of public in information that we know about him is that he's apparently the son of a well-known lawyer from Baron in Switzerland he launched his own Consulting business firm in 2022 there are rumors amongst friends that Christina was planning to leave him the most dangerous time in a Dev The most dangerous time in a DV relationship relationship is when one wants to leave that is the either when someone is pregnant or when one wants to leave usually if there's the threat of someone leaving departing the relationship the DV aggressor really doesn't want that they escalate their behavior in this case again everything we've seen in D cases it's so sad so you know because it's one of those no if I can't have you then no one else will it's so entitled so horrible okay so they recently had a family trip to Lake lucern which Christina shared on social media a friend said that he Thomas felt like he was getting into a tunnel due to his fear of losing his children house and Company he claimed that this fear stressed him out to the extent that he did not give himself time to reflect on his decisions and question his actions while his control mechanisms were missing due to shock he also seems to be one of those that tends to blame everything and everyone else you know he also reminds me a little bit of like Aliah AB buaban you know just that that entitlement that possessive like control but then also being like well I don't know man you know it's just it's the fear stressed it stressed me out so much you know it didn't give him time to reflect on his decisions okay the lower court found that Thomas was obviously stuck in the completely unrealistic idea of living again in the near future with his daughters whose mother he admittedly and we're going to get to all that admittedly killed and dismembered at his previous place of residence like he literally thought no but like sorry was a little bit of a impulse impulse control issue and um I'm going to get out right like I'm going to go be with my children no uh that's just not hard works it doesn't matter where you are in the world that's just not hard works thank you everyone for the be hugs for Stefan and thank you for being here Stefan I know this must be very difficult okay so February 13th of 2024 is actually when the crime happened so why is it only in the news now okay it's because his appeal to be released yes he made an appeal to be released has just been rejected so we're going to talk about that more later but but that's why this is now activated some sort of release of public information because he took it to federal court so that's why we now know this information because normally normally one doesn't hear about these things um not just that the I'm not saying the crime there's crimes that occur much less in Switzerland than compared to maybe South Africa or maybe the USA But the thing is we don't normally hear about all this information you know like like autopsy reports and things now I don't have the documents but they they're reporting on it so that's been um triggered by this now on February 13th of 2024 Christina's body was discovered in the laundry room of her home in benan I hope I'm saying that What happened on February 13th, 2024? okay Stefan tell me if I'm not by a third party which was likely her mother because she she lived with him can you imagine so it was Christina the husband two little girls and Christina's mother and they say that a third party found her and some articles have said that it was her mother that found I mean that is I just that is horrendous I just can't even imagine especially when you hear more so again trigger warning this case is really disturbing it's um very upsetting and it involves really bad things after the murder as well okay like dismemberment okay we're going to talk about that but but the way that he the way that her body parts were found her mother could have been the one to find her in the laundry room modima Rose thank you so much Alicia said does Switzerland have the death penalty no they do not so yeah and the thing is this again this is like um it reminds me a bit of Oscar Pistorius in the sense that look at the date as well it's like right before Valentine's Day like what was going on you know in his mind so okay so there's that already that a third party found the remains her body had been partly dismembered with the medical examin of being able to determine that she was strangled to death her husband was arrested the following day on Valentine's Day on February 14th of 2024 so yeah the arrests here are quick apparently he confessed when he was arrested but they arrested that guy quickly um and so his appeal to be released as being rejected it's just been reject rejected and is uh more on this later that we will discuss yes Erin says it reminds me of Amy Harwick too yes that is well okay so autopsy excer um excerpts this is what Stefan had helped me to um translate you know because everything is in German and while Google Translate is great it's even better when you have a local that can help you understand all the words right that they're saying so I'm I've made um some bullet points for you so Autopsy excerpts I'm telling you trigger warning domestic violence dismemberment it's terrible okay injuries before death include injuries on her right eye nasal Bridge right lower leg both shoulder blades additionally there were numerous small red hemorrhages within the victim scalp such as can occur from vigorous pulling of the hair so he really violently attacked her before he strangled her is what it sounds like it's so heartbreaking to read that um I'm trying to summarize it for you otherwise it's just very graphic but it sounds like there was a huge fight for her life uh welcome so Additionally you know they would they said such as can occur from vigorous pulling of the hair there were clear signs of fatal violence to the neck of the victim or strangulation a reddish leature Mark around her neck a fractured hyoid bone and Hemorrhage tongue bites which is also devastating the expert uh report reaches the preliminary conclusion that the victim died of Central regulatory failure and asfixiation as a result of violence against the neck and consequently non-natural causes there was known as homicide now the report says and again the caution there's caution trigger warning it's um graphic information the report says that her husband used a jigsaw knife and garden shearers to dismember her in the laundry room of their home he then used a gastro hand blender and Industrial mixer to puree some of her remains while dissolving others with a chemical before the dismemberment of the body the applant had broken or soord the femur bones out of the hip sockets I'm like what okay her spine was severed crudely between the second and third cervical vertebrae the toor also was also separated from the pelvis and the uterus was cut out of the vaginal Vault like he they said we'll look at it later again they he carefully extracted her uterus okay then it is like it's so unbelievably shocking now Thomas was allegedly watching YouTube videos while he was dismembering wife's body I want to know what he was watching better not be watching us YouTube videos it has been reported that the only organ that he carefully removed from her body was her womb and that this deliberate mutilation or ritualized degradation of the body is believed to indicate that Thomas has a mental disorder according to the court so it seems like that could be one of his defense strategies is he's got a couple one is that he acted in self-defense I can't snark anymore than like I can't even speak I'm so upset hearing that like he's like self-defense really dude you're going to claim self-defense I mean what so that's one of his strategies self-defense the other is you know that um I'm losing my TR thought hold on yeah mental disorder Insanity pin Becky Zer given to Stefan I'm so sorry for your loss may you and her family find strength and peace very graphic G is very graphic thank you for that nice message for Stefan and of Watched YouTube videos and hid her phone course for the family and friends of this beautiful victim I mean my goodness so um he hid her phone on a delivery track so I don't know how that all went like if he I don't know I don't have any more context for that that's just what I read from local news that he hit her phone on a delivery truck and then he refused to give investigators access to his phone describing what happened before the killing Thomas said that the couple had a positive conversation before Christina suddenly attacked him with a knife like what is wrong with these dudes we've seen so many cases like that we're like no we had a really great meal or I gave her a massage or we when you know when I just cringe when they're like we made love like you're right and I was like no we had a really positive conversation and then she came lunging at me with a knife so it was self-defense like come on oh my goodness but okay caring on yeah Heidi's like Heidi says it's not freaking self-defense so I'm just showing you some pictures just it's hard to visualize when you read all of that like what he used what a jigsa a knife Garden shares and an industrial mixer so it looks like a blender type of thing like that cuz I first thought it's like a blender we've seen cases like that as well unfortunately but they talking about this and apparently he bought that industrial Tools they described he used mixer for a Boy Scout house I still want to know more about that so he had some kind of links to like Boy Scouts organizations and he says he bought it for that and it was just in the basement yeah that story sounds quite fishy like what so I'm going to show you pictures now of the the crime scene the house so not inside the house just the area just so that you can see it uh welcome to all the new members we'll have a member stream right after this as well Teresa said anyone who does this is mental but not an excuse for what he did yes so yeah this is the area where it occurred in benan barel Switzerland and you can see the tape it's red and white tape that is the house do you think like I put that wedding picture there cuz just look look how he's holding her and to think that you know she was committed to him she was his wife the mother of his children and sure because he was so allegedly abusive there's rumors from friends that She wanted to leave him? she she was on her way out she wanted to leave she wanted to end the relationship and this is just unbelievable to think how the relationship started and now what has happened so yeah there's some more pictures apparently of him and the area I mean it looks like a beautiful area there's nice houses there that they say that Overlook you know the whole of Basel and all of that so okay now um they say based on the current state of the investigation there are concrete indications that the appin suffers from a psychological disorder or a significant psychopathological personality disorder all right um Patricia burn said an industrial mixes along Spike that coils at the end is used for mixing cement but they did talk about that's not how they show it though so I'm not too sure maybe it could be that but when I've looked on the local news it seems like it gets a little Lost in Translation because some of them said blender like a normal blender then they said industrial blender then they said gastro they did say gastro so not for cement it's for the kitchen so that's how I checked that but thank you so much you just never know now they say according to the ongoing investigations he exhibited High criminal energy, lack of empathy remarkably High criminal energy I like that phraseology yeah a lack of empathy and coldblooded after killing his wife the mother of his two children the final medical forensic report dated June 17th of 2024 on the autopsy and the supplementary report dated June 18th of 2024 clearly contradict his claim that the strangulation leading to death was merely self-defense against an alleged knife attack by the victim according to the experts findings the traces on the bodies of the the victim and the appin do not suggest that there was any knife attack on him before the strangulation his planned and systematic approach over several hours in the dismemberment and attempted disposal of the body using specialized tools and chemicals as well as the destruction and manipulation of traces injury patterns on the victim's body preliminarily argues that the appin explanation that this was a spontaneous Panic reaction from the Viewpoint of the investigating judge moreover there are indications of targeted mutilation or ritualized degradation of the corpse which also point to a possible psychological disorder the medical experts particularly noted that the appin carefully removed the uterus of the victim the only organ to be completely excised from the body yeah Jean says the nerve to say self-defense mhm furthermore this is now from the reports the excerpts from some of the reports right furthermore his entire behavior on February 13th of 2024 Allegations from former partners in the current stage of the investigation indicates a significant propensity for violence on the part of the appin particularly towards his respective partners with partially sadistic sociopathic traits there are indications of a low frustration tolerance and poor impulse control additionally an increasing escalation of violence can be observed a former partner of the appin testified during her prosecutorial uh examination on July 22nd of 2024 that he had repeatedly exerted significant violence against her so that's a different partner and they say until April of 2016 during one of his frequent fits of Rage after a joint visit to her parents he drove over her foot with a car so a previous partner some previous Partners also came forward and they testified so that's amazing as well that they that they were willing to or maybe they had to that they came forward and told their story of how it was to be with him s Turtle says good point where were the children when this was happening I don't know so maybe out and about with a grandma I don't know during the subsequent drive this is with the previous partner so the pictures on the right hand side is of course of Christina with him but they're talking about a previous relationship so during the subsequent drive he threatened to throw her out of the vehicle another time during a car ride he performed an emergency stop causing her head to hit the dashboard resulting in Whiplash there was also domestic violence at the appin then residence in Baron he had grabbed her his then partner by the neck with his hand and pushed her against the wall during disputes he would sometimes lose control he would then either hit her smack her or hold her against the wall and strangle her based on statements from a third party she the former partner assumes that there were already problems violence or sexual issues with his previous Partners before their relationship according to the findings of the criminal authorities it is also on record that the applant had strangled his wife before the investigated homicide on February 13th of 2024 in this regard there are photos of the victim with previously sustained strangulation marks a police emergency report from July 14th of 2023 and incriminating statements from the witness the European house wife says what a demonic monster yes so yeah someone's saying patterns Melissa loves True Crime says patterns mhm yes welcome if you're only joining now we are talking about a case out of Switzerland now following his arrest Thomas not his real name right Swiss privacy laws confessed to the murder but when I read that I'm like oh he confessed no okay but confess but just listen how he conf confessed saying that he acted in self-defense after his wife allegedly tacked him with a knife he said he was in a state of panic after the murder and then he decided to dismember her no no no dude state of panic decided to dismember her partly he also said that he had found his wife dead by the stairs so he's got very CH he's got everchanging stories conflicting stories he just found her deceased by the stairs Federal court proceedings so he thought he'll just dismember her then he said she lunged at him with a knife so selfdefense right uh so he' find his wife dead by the stairs had dismembered her in the laundry room in a panic is one of the other reasons now after his arrest he applied for release from custody which he then took to the federal court he asked to either be released from custody pending trial against payment of appropriate bail and an order to block documents even offering to be placed on house arrest he offered okay to be placed on house arrest he's a nice guy he's being nice he's offering he's saying just let me out and just let me stay at home okay so um I just want to find my place quickly to block the okay okay house arrest uh Lan l l l l i don't know how to say that exactly I got to work on the S okay Lan has now rejected an appeal by the alleged perpetrator in the Judgment just published further brutal details of the crime come to light he had already been T Down by the Basel L cessive measures court and the cantonal court with a request for release from custody or an appeal against a negative decision the federal court is now supporting the decision of the lower court and referring to the investigations carried out to date right Don is like I am 100% shocked that Switzerland is next to France how two was thinking it as more North like Sweden yeah yeah a lot of people say like you know they they confuse Switzerland and Sweden yeah it's right next to France um also Germany and Italy surrounding countries which is why obviously it makes sense that the national languages in Switzerland are French German and Italian so yeah he's tried to get out and he's not getting out of jail anytime soon now the ruling which brought horrific new details about the murder to light said the ongoing investigation has revealed concrete indications of a mental illness in the case as the investigation into the case that shocked Mental illness? Switzerland and now the world continues officials are now piecing together the events that led to this horrific crime okay I actually um I just want to see something for because I don't know first degree murder in Switzerland let see that Max sentence um so they say offenses against life and limb are among the most serious in the Swiss Penal Code thus in the case of homicide the maximum penalties can be up to 20 years of deprivation of Liberty or even life imprisonment in the case of murder the Swiss uh Penal Code knows various types of homicides okay so so it could be could be life in prison right okay so okay that's my presentation now I just wanted to show you something here which I'll show you again wait we'll go like this again a little bit of map time so um just zoom out like this so if you look at the map in Europe you see that that's Switzerland the red here is Switzerland so here's France here is Germany here is Italy as I say Sweden is all the way up here up very North right here is the Netherlands where I used to live so yeah Switzerland is over here and that's where it took place and if you zoom in here's Basel so you can see Zurich over here and if you go West Northwest here's Basel and if you zoom in even more here's bingan and that is where it occurred in this area of bingan now I can't see that he's being like formally arranged or when the next
