CAROLINA. WELL, ALL RIGHT, LET'S TALK ABOUT OUR WEATHER AGAIN. LAINEY. AGAIN, WE'VE HAD A REALLY, REALLY NICE WEEKEND FOR US. BUT AGAIN, WE MIGHT NEED TO PUT ON AN EXTRA LAYER NOW AS WE HEAD OUT. IT'S DEFINITELY STARTING TO FEEL LIKE FALL, WHICH IS, YEAH, PRETTY CHILLY IN THE MORNING AND THEN FAIRLY PLEASANT IN THE AFTERNOON. THERE E ARE THE SKIES OVER MOUNT AIRY TODAY, WHERE WE HAVE HAD A WHOLE LOT OF SUNSHINE. WE ACTUALLY HAVE A NUMBER OF DRY DAYS IN THE FORECAST THIS WEEK AS WELL, AND ALSO A GOOD BIT OF SUNSHINE, ESPECIALLY ON THE FRONT END OF THE WEEK. TEMPERATURES HAVE BEEN BELOW NORMAL ALL WEEKEND AND CONTINUED THAT WAY TODAY AT 75 FOR A HIGH 83 IS OUR NORMAL AND 64 IS OUR NORMAL LOW. BUT TEMPERATURES WERE IN THE MID 50S OUT THERE. THIS MORNING. NOW HIGHS WILL STAY A LITTLE BIT BELOW OUR NORMAL HIGH OF 83. SO WE'RE LOOKING AT TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER SECONDS AND EVEN SOME MID 70S. TOWARD THE END OF THE WEEK. THOSE MORNING TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE A LITTLE BIT COOL IN THE 50S AS WE START AND THEN THEY WILL CLIMB SOME TOWARD THE END OF THE WEEK. SO TOMORROW MORNING AT THE BUS STOP, IT'S GOING TO BE RATHER CHILLY, ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE IN THE MOUNTAINS WHERE TEMPERATURES WILL LIKELY BE DOWN AROUND 45 DEGREES OR AROUND 50 DEGREES IN THE PIEDMONT TRIAD IN THE MORNING. WE'VE GOT A LOT OF SUNSHINE IN THE FORECAST, BUT THAT COOL START, WE HAVEN'T HAD 50 DEGREES SINCE THE MIDDLE OF MAY. SO YEAH, KIND OF A TRANSITION TAKING P PLACE HERE. 49 DEGREES ON MAY 13TH. AGAIN OUR NORMAL LOWS ABOUT 15 DEGREES WARMER THAN THAT. SO IT DOES GET A LITTLE BIT WARMER IN THE MIDDLE PART OF THE WEEK. CLOUDS ARE GOING TO START TO MOVE IN BY THE END OF THE WEEK. WE'RE GOING TO KEEP AN EYE ON THIS TROPICAL SYSTEM THAT'S DOWN IN THE GULF OF MEXICO. AS THAT MOISTURE COULD BE MOVING NORTH INTO OUR AREA RIGHT NOW. THE SHOWERS AND EVEN THE THUNDERSTORMS HAVE REMAINED DOWN ALONG THE COASTLINE. IF NOT OFFSHORE. OUR TEMPERATURES ARE CONTINUING TO DROP UNDER CLEAR SKIES. SO WE'VE GOT 54 IN SPARTA, 55 IN NORTH WILKESBORO, 60 IN LEXINGTON AND A CHILLY 56 RIGHT NOW IN REIDSVILLE. SO MORNING TEMPERATURES RIGHT AROUND 50 DEGREES. WE SHOULD GET CLOSE TO 70 BY LUNCHTIME. GREAT DAY TO TAKE LUNCH OUTDOORS. YOU'VE GOT HIGHS IN THE UPPER 70S TOMORROW AFTERNOON IN THE TRIAD, AS WELL AS THE FOOTHILLS WITH LOTS OF SUN. VERY LIGHT WINDS ACROSS THE AREA IN THE MOUNTAINS. CHILLY IN THE MORNING BUT COMFORTABLE IN THE AFTERNOON WITH A HIGH NEAR 70. YOU'VE GOT HIGH PRESSURE SPREADING ACROSS THE EASTERN HALF OF THE NATION, KEEPING THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS DOWN TO OUR SOUTH. IT'S ANOTHER AREA OF SHOWERS AND STORMS THAT WE'RE MORE FOCUSED ON HERE. THAT IS GOING TO BE MOVING NORTH. IT IS POTENTIAL TROPICAL CYCLONE NUMBER SIX WITH 50 MILE PER HOUR WINDS. RIGHT NOW EXPECTED TO POTENTIALLY BECOME A TROPICAL STORM, WHICH WOULD MAKE IT FRANCINE ON OUR LIST. AND THEN MAYBE EVEN A HURRICANE AS IT'S THERE ALONG THE TEXAS COAST BY THE MIDDLE PART OF THE WEEK. AND THEN AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE TOWARD THE END OF THE WEEK. OF COURSE, WE'LL KEEP YOU UP TO DATE ON THAT, AND WE'LL CONTINUE TO TRACK IT. THOSE TRACKS SO FAR DO TAKE IT PRETTY CLOSE TO THE GULF COASTAL STATES AND THEN UP INTO THE TENNESSEE VALLEY. HERE'S YOUR SEVEN DAY FORECAST. WE'VE A ADDED CHANCES OF RAIN IN IT BY FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. TEMPERATURES A LITTLE BIT COOLER THANKS TO THE CLOUDS AND THE POTENTIAL WET
