32nd appearance. Fourth time as an opener, er, a 373 strikeouts at 36 against 15 walks in the air toward the corner and left. Oh, just enough room for reynolds tucked in there. Two outs. Yeah, that's the short little portrait there. A little smile from Brian Reynolds. He knows where the wall is, both walls. The one behind him, the one next to him. I don't think it had enough distance and it wouldn't have went out of the ballpark but still here's the pitch and there it is strike three call and Then he's got 97 in his pocket. I think he threw 14 pitches, picked him apart in the first inning. Wonder if he'll go back out, give the ball to adam Hoer fifth start this season. A loss against the Phillies on Thursday in Miami pitched into the sixth inning though in each of his last three starts. First pitch swinging whacked into center field by Isaiah Kiner. Papa Reynolds is coming up. He had a two run single in the second inning yesterday. That was the difference making hit as the parents went on to win 3 to 2. He brought in the 2nd and 3rd runs. Oh, that's a shot to right. That doesn't shock the rock with the hard base hit and Isaiah taking third and reynolds behind them at second. Those two make things happen. Now the Pirates have two in scoring position. Oh, yeah, you're, you're set now to have a crooked number up there. There's nobody out. 2nd and 3rd o'neil Cruz homered in the first inning. Yesterday. Grounded runner breaks a little bobble and Cruz will get the ribby like Lopez had thoughts about throwing home but IKF scores one. Nothing. Cruz gets the RB I 71st and Reynolds goes to third productive at bat. Get him over, get him in hard ground ball to the right side. Nothing tricky about the hop. I mean, it just came up, hit him in the palm of the glove. He has a shot at home, but that's why you're aggressive now , men at the corners with one out for Joey Bard swinging a bouncing ball toward third and Berger misplays it and a run is in, it was a played it into an in between up and there's your run scores and nobody is put out on that ball. 10, there's a swing and a ground ball. This could be two to second Lopez to Soo to Hensley and the inning is over. Double play ball goes 463. But the Pirates do a little damage here in the bottom of the first inning. Paul Schemes, the fireman, what was it like today? Going in that truck? Yeah, it was cool. Uh, first time I've ever been in a truck got to blow the horn. Is it loud? It's loud. It, uh, I mean, I guess that makes sense, but I was surprised. Do you have any clue how many punch outs you have through a game? No, not really. I mean, the goal, the goal is to lose track right in a good way. You're underwhelmed by all this. It doesn't seem like that's a big deal to you. I guess you have bigger things in mind. Yeah, I mean, you know, hopefully play the game for a really long time and, um, you know, I ideally at the end of it , the, the rookie strikeout record is kind of insignificant compared to everything else. Um, so I just got to keep going hits this one hard past third, kicks off the short fence and a throw to second and he's in there standing with a double Joey Bart just continues to hit nobody on base to drive in this time. But, uh, gets a breaking ball and he's all over. It stays on it hard and hooking past burger with a lazy fly ball out to left field kine camps underneath it for the first out , left center field. It's pretty deep, ST back edge of the warning track makes the catch for the out bars from second, goes to third Gonzalez gives it a ride but he flies out to deep center field, fly ball, shallow left center field. Second baseman Lopez out about 25 ft onto the outfield grass. He makes the catch side, retired leadoff double, nothing more. And the Pirates turned away again here in the fourth bounced out to first time and that one is going to get down and get to that 21 ft high wall in right field throw from right is just a little bit late and it's a two out double for kyle Stowers and really nice at bat by ST ST gets a hanging breaking ball and he's not in a hurry to swing the bat stays back long enough to keep that ball fair. So runners on 1st and 3rd on and two out, the Marlins down a couple, he singled sharply to right field his first time up and the 32, the runner goes line drive right field base hit for Johnny Pereda. He knocks in ST from third. That's a terrific at that. A couple of opposite field singles for Pereda tonight. This one cash is in a run and it's 2 to 1. Pittsburgh here in the fifth. So no, waits in the pitch swinging a little pop back of second could be trouble and Cook comes on with a sliding catch. Billy Cook came out of nowhere to get that final out and that ends the hopes for the Marlins in the fifth but they do score. They leave two and the Pirates take the lead coming to bat in the bottom of the fifth. And again, the man at second is there with one out this time for Brian reynolds and this one skips past the shortstop. So Noah, and the Pirates will get that run back. It's a good thing. You have Brian reynolds though to clean things up. Now, his 83rd RB I, he has done it all year long. A little breaking ball kind of stayed up, knuckled a little bit. The shortstop just falling. Yeah, we saw this with the second baseman falling to his left hoping it finds glove but it gets back. It gets past them four pitch walk to Cruz that pushes reynolds up to second. Now Mccutchen who has drawn a base on balls and has also ground into a double play tonight. High fly ball to left back is co nine to the wall clear the deck coming number 20 on the year for mccutcheon mccutcheon's eighth season of 20 or more home runs in the black and gold trailing only Willie Starre one of the Pirate greats all time. Andrew Mccutchen, another bomb from Andrew Mccutchen, another bomb backspin. So now the Marlins load the bases and things starting to get really interesting here after the Pirates scored four in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Marlins have a chance here, bases loaded one out to get right back in this thing and Bride out to left field, but there is reynolds to make the catch. It'll be deep enough to score one. And Lopez moves up to third. Good wood on that one for Bride. The first pitch. The ST and he swings and he lines it fair over the bag at third. Rolling down the left field line. Lopez will score easily. Racing towards third is Kine he'll put on the breaks. There's a two out RB I double for kyle ST. The Marlins draw a little closer now it's 6 to 3 here in the sixth. Here we go. Ninth inning and the Pirates, they are leading the Marlins 6 to 3 and coming on to try to save for the second straight night. Here comes a Chapman 101 painted. So the Marlins yet again will bring the tying run to the plate here in the ninth inning ground ball through a base hit and they will send Pereda, he will score. So Jake Berger comes through and back to back nights where the Marlins played 1/9 inning run against chapman and make things interesting. Now, six 40 to 2 on Lopez, 64 Pirates seems like he always wants to finish on a fastball. He does with 100 and three in the stare down from the Cuban missile raises the Jolly Roger Pirates with their first three game winning streak since the end of July and they are 6 to 0 against the Marlins this year.
