you got a smile on your face you you must have enjoyed the the process this morning every day you'll see look if I ain't there you gonna see a smile on my face except for whenever I got hurt two two times the second time I kind of had a smile on my face the first time I did not what do you want the identity of this team to be I know you guys are in the process of developing that offensively but so far what do you think um me personally I want this team to I want our identity to be a bully you know I want to be a healthy bully as Coach Harbaugh would say we want to be bullies you know um you know we want to have a run game and a pass game we want to be able to bully people and do whatever we want to do you know and um it starts here camp and we're going to get that we're going to get to it we're going to work for it every single day and we got the guys to do it and so that's what we shooting for I know I'm shooting for it not only as a team but as as a player as well I want to be a bully on that field too I want I want people to know like all right we're going against this guy he's been hurt oh no no they won't be saying that this year sorry you going through this before playing for R knowing that mentality is how do you kind of convey that what you guys get the pads on to everyone like this is how things are done M uh it starts with action you know um me personally being in in the system before um and even with Coach Harbaugh you know I feel like their dad set the standard for them as coaches you know him and Mr John we we got to do that by action when we put on those pads we have to be we have to have our pads low we have to work on our fundamentals each and every day so that we can be a bully so we can run the ball even if we got seven men in the box or if there five men in the Box we got to be able to run ball no matter what and we got to be able to throw it you know we got to have the receivers to catch it and make contested catches as well you know so when we get them pads on that's when we can really work on our craft and so that's how we'll we'll put that into action what makes what do you think makes coach Roman so successful about getting the best out of his Run game uh he's a genius he's a genius man um and I do think that not only he has um not only does he have a a good a good feel for the Run game but I do think he has some things in his in his Arsenal for the past game as well you know and so we'll see this year like it's I I do truly believe it's going to be a great year especially with our quarterback we got a quarterback that can throw it like no other and so I I it's going to be special a lot of people know coach Roman for a run game but the pass game will be there this this year as well talk to you a couple times now but like it seems like every time you you mention the fact that people talk about you being hurt and and is that something that motivates you still and that you're thinking about now I look look let me say you this I know I say people say that I was hurt but I me myself and I I know that I've been hurt like there's not nothing that I can control the stuff that I'm I feel like I'm a pretty tough guy like when I'm on a field I'm on a field you got to pull me off like I can't walk if I can't walk then I I'll get off the field but if you won't see me coming off that field unless it's out of my control and the the the injuries that I've had that's out of my control that was the Lord's the Lord's plan to get me here in this SPID right now and so it's taught me a lot of things and it's it's helped my game honestly because I feel I feel like I'm in college out there right now you know what I'm saying so I do feel like each injury and after after the you know um I had the knee injury and then I had to go in middle of the season to get it cleaned up and after that I still came back got like two back toback 100 yard games so it's just teaching me something and I do think that the storm is over for that now I'm I'm on a New Journey a healthy Journey this year and you guys will see It'll be special because I've been saying it the whole time you'll be like damn he's been saying that the whole time like that's over it's over it's over and now it is finally over and now you guys will be able to see if I get the volume I do think I'll be one of the best in the in in the league you know I've showed that with I think do you know how much yards i a average a carry cuz I don't I think 5.8 something 5.8 okay I don't know how many bags they got that you know so and that's not to talk about myself but I just the Lord has showed me and everyone else that you have it you're good enough but he he put these obstacles in a way to teach me something and it's been valuable to me because like I said I feel amazing and I feel like everything's slower I missed a whole year everything's slower you know so we'll see you don't you feel JK from college yes I do I feel great and I don't think about it me I'm a type of guy like something bad happens all right that happened let's move on I'm a I'm a second by second guy like I don't care what happened last look I might be Ah that's that hurt all right all right I'm over that now let's get it that play was good all right that's cool let's get it I had a 100 yards here all right that was last game let's get another one you know that's how I am and so this injury I don't feel nothing I don't feel nothing I actually feel faster and how comfortable are you here you know with the Charges going that you know you have Gus with you as well yeah I'm I'm comfortable not only Gus we got badley Bowman um and I I didn't play with Hayden hurz but I've known him you know because he was on the on the Ravens and then just the whole I don't really I didn't know um Coach Harbaugh or Jim Jim Harbaugh but I did you know in college play against him so I kind of saw him from afar so it wasn't really a unfamiliar face you know so I feel like everything was so familiar it was already home here so and with Gus being back there with me it'll be good you know we know how we compliment each other so it'll work well thought on some of the the young guys in in the running back Isaiah jar patters those guys yeah I think those guys are working yep I think they're I think they're working man I think everybody including me we have we have strides to make you know um and I think those guys are learning a lot you know from not only me but Gus you know and then all the Vets on the on the team you know so I think they're doing a good job just got to keep working you know keep getting better you you were a part of obviously Great Run games in in Baltimore at what point in the schedule over the course of the year do you know that you're going to have something as a run game is it now like you know now or is it when the pads come is it when you get to the first game like when do you know for sure that you guys have something we'll get an idea when the pass come on and then we you know the Run game you know everybody got to be it's it's it's about chemistry for the offensive line you know so the first day might not be good second day might the first week might not be good but as we keep working as they keep getting chemistry and I keep getting chemistry with them then we'll know you know so it might be it might be week four of camp or the preseason and then we'll know you know or it could be the third week of the Season all right we're clicking now something click you know that's just how it goes and each game is different you know one one game some defense might be like all right we ain't letting that happen and then and then the Run game isn't there but hopefully we have the passing game there to help us you know but I do think that I think that the offensive line that we have is pretty talented got some great guys so I think we'll be we'll get it going pretty quick and just we talk about that like how you don't really know when it's going to happen with the running game Greg has talked to us about you know big reason why been able to build good running games is just the commitment to it sticking with it calling runs all that kind of stuff do you think that's a big reason why he's been able to build running games is that he's willing to stay committed to it even if it takes till a week four or five to like really see it click yeah I do think so you know um you got to be patient with everything in life not just like all this stuff is like real life stuff like if you if you're impatient with say say you're trying to get some muscles you pretty swall but look say if you try to get some but look but look no seriously no I'm being serious you look good man you're nice slouchy you're nice sloppy you know but all right see look I'm motivating you I'm I'm motivating you look but look see look you go to the gym you're like ah man I've been lifting so much and I don't see nothing and you give up then you might have been like just that close to getting what you wanted right so that's kind of like I I think that's his philosophy got to keep working on it keep being patient next thing you know that thing's going to hit that's in the game too like in the game The Run game if I'm getting stopped I know it's first quarter second quarter all right the defense is pretty fired up especially on a way game like the crowds loud everybody the energy is loud you know that they're going to be ready like everybody's going to be ready but I know during the course of that game I know I'm like all right got to stay with it stay with it stay with it keep trusting everything that I know because that one time bam big run now we're going you know so that's I think that's why it's so good you know and you going to get that you going to get there man you [Laughter] go you killing me but okay so look all right we'll take away the muscles your beard you've been sticking with it yeah right right look look you know what I'm saying we go we going to get it going I'm just I'm praying to the Lord that I stay healthy you know that's all that matters you know cuz if I'm healthy I think I can play pretty good you know so I've been praying to him and hopefully the storm is over hopefully he showed me what I need to see and now we gonna take off I'm still young I'm only 25 what's what's what Justin been like you guys actually on the field what's he like in in the hle I know it's time he he's a dude I I I love Justin I love his game I love him as a person we're we're we're becoming good friends on and off the field you know we play Call of Duty together you know um he's a great guy you know and I can see that he wants to win too and that's the reason why I came here to help that guy win because he got critics too people talk about him too you know and I ain't even on social media you know so it just that's how it goes and I I want to help him I want to help Derwin James I want to her help my my fellow Buckeye Joey I want to help those guys get a ring you know and and bring some you know hype to the Chargers in La you know what uh weird I mean how different is he from Lamar do they have similar well we know Lamar first we'll start with Lamar is Lamar and Justin is Justin you know Lamar you know you know he's he's Dynamic he's really Dynamic so is Justin but Justin ain't as fast as Lamar you know but Justin is athletic too so they both have their unique things he has a unique arm Lamar has a unique arm as well but in a different way you know so I've been blessed to play with two future Hall of Fame quarterbacks maybe you know and so I'm blessed to learn from those guys and they help my game and hopefully I help their game as well
