MAJOR Cowboys Rumors: Dalvin Cook To Cowboys, Tyus Bowser Visit + Zach Wilson Trade & RB Targets?

course the Dalvin cook new news he is set to visit and work out for the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday as Dallas makes all their free agency moves in August apparently and not you know like a normal team does I get the general interest in a running back because all of us have interest in a running back as of right now knowing this is going to change as roster Cuts arrive it's Zeke it's D Freeman Davis Duce Von Snoop Conor lipkey is kind of more of a fullback tight end hybrid there is Need for impact play at the running back position position my issue is although Dalvin cook at one point was one of the best backs in football he's not that guy anymore the regression has very much hits from five yards per carry to 4.7 to 4.4 all the way down to 3.2 look at his Advanced stats from our friends over at summer Sports these are running backs only you can apply the filter there EPA per Rush he was dead last expected points added per Rush success rate did the play get the amount of yards needed to be considered a successful play Third last explosive play rate dead last is among qualifying backs by the way yards created near the bottom bottom 10 yards after contact on average bottom five first down percentage second worse that's one level of that's not very good now it was a small sample size but you can also look at stuff like rush yards overe expected and the regression here I think is pretty Stark he was in 2018 these are the new NFL pro numbers by the way I also manually filtered out the running backs among qualifying players 0.1 yards overexp expected getting more than what's blocked for you down distance guys in the Box offensive line doing their job whatnot then up to point four up to point 6 top 10 runner in 2020 normally this number tends to to drop the the more carries you get because the efficiency in general just tends to go down it's also very much Juiced for quarterbacks that's why I took them out because it's like all quarterbacks at the top uh 2022 dropped down to 0 2 okay 2020 21 dropped down to 02 2022 okay that was below average and you were 29th out of 41st now in 2023 D cook did not qualify on nextg stats he did not have enough carries had he qualified he would have been dead last with negative 1.2 yards per carry overexp expected that's horrifically bad um that's about as low in small sample size sure but face didn't face that many stacked boxes he was below average in stacked boxes faced wasn't very good I got more on this to come here but what do you guys want I believe in democracy it is totally okay if you disagree with me we're not going to block you from the channel or anything do you want to sign Dalvin cook y for yes and for not the pin comment of today's video it is a no for me I have only so many roster spots available it is now late August I think banking on a 29-year-old running back who has shown a signs a decline previously and then really fell off pretty hard in 2023 in a small sample size sure is a red flag why do I need Andor want another aging back who is on the decline who doesn't offer the juice he once did and look there were some flashes last year I remember some of you guys adding me on Twitter when he had he had a really nice run against uh for the Ravens in the postseason and then did nothing on his other seven carries not saying he's never going to have a good run again that's I want to emphasize that part I think you can get some flashes out of dvin cook I also think that flashes from a 29-year-old back are very different than flashes out of say a 24 year old back because at that point you're having a conversation of okay well are the flashes going to continue because you're younger or are they going to continue to drop off because you are older the compromise I am willing to make is how about a Brandon Carr move the second time not the first time you put them on the practice squad it's a practice squad spot I will never be actually mad about a practice squad we get 17 of them this year for the Cowboys and maybe three or four of them end up realizing into something more than just extra bodies on your roster so I'll compromise on a practice squad move because I can't have Zeke Elliot and Dalvin cook being older backs offering zero special teams ability and upside that's I don't understand how that works from a a roster management perspective now was the Cowboys form their 2019 super team they are also meeting with defensive end tus Bowser that is the former Raven pass rusher who has battled injuries over the course of his career Dallas I guess is not satisfied at the edge rusher spots I think they could use some depth they they waved injured derell Johnson so they're kind of thin at like the available practice squad candidates since Sam Williams is out for the year uh Al mohammad's going to serve a onegame suspension by the way and then probably maybe a practice squad option marshan NE and Chanty Olson Carl Lawson's been a little slow to come along that's not a huge surprise given when he signed Tyrus weep will probably be cut be a practice squad option that's kind of a thin group since foko was also waved injured by the way last time we saw Bowser was 2022 he has battled killes injury he's had knee issues uh just two sacks in 2022 at one point was pretty impactful uh at one point was a very promising good Edge rusher uh who the Ravens had paid and they got nine sacks out of him or seven sacks out of him back in 2021 five sacks out of him in 2019 he he he can do some pass rush stuff for you uh but this this reeks of Veteran on the practice squad tweet then we'll get to some thoughts here intriguing option for Zach Wilson Chase Daniel tweets out the Dallas Cowboys he's an immediate upgrade over Cooper rushay Lance and gives them some depth behind Dak who is yet to sign Shawn Payton has been loving up Zach and it wouldn't be surprised and I wouldn't be surprised if it's to increase trade value I have a lot of thoughts here that we are going to get into here in just a moment the first thought I have though is just no no I don't want to do this I I am tired of this type of idea always getting linked to the Dallas Cowboys I I I will save my reasoning for a second you guys know who Zach Wilson is that is a household name he was a number two overall pick would you trade for him t for trade P for pass go ahead and sound off for me in the comments of today's show I anticipate getting several PS here so there's several claims being made here number one Chase Daniel is better than Cooper rush and Trey Lance thus giving them depth implying as a long-term option behind Dak Prescott and also hey you know Shawn Payton's trying to boost his trade value which should raise red flags by the way if they're trying to boost the the trade value we've seen Zach Wilson play a lot it was not a great spot in New York it was not a good football team there were issues across the board there but he's been terrible we have eyeballs Zack Wilson not been good in his time in the NFL No Way Around It Now the main argument was that Daniel made is he looked a complete different player in the preseason but actually does he Zack Wilson has played well in the preseason that's kind of his whole thing he can make plays in the preseason yeah he had more touchdowns in an offense that was much easier CU it's a sea pton that offense and it's basically my college football 25 offense and it's it's easy there I'm not sure it's actually a brand new Zach Wilson because we've seen him before look good in the preseason are we buying that look maybe he's a better backup QB then Trey Lance and maybe Cooper rush but is backup quarterback actually a need for this team I'm actually quite comfortable rolling it out with Cooper Russian and Tre Lance also now I have to give up assets so now I'm trading whatever a fifth round pick for another cuz it's going to take Zach Wilson time to learn the offense it's not instantaneous I also think trying to learn three two three offenses basically in a in a year span is a bad idea that that that's hard on any football player most importantly who here you can type me in the comments believes that Zack Wilson is a actual long-term solution I'm not fall for the banana in the tailpipe again what's the point of this I just keep throwing away day three picks on oneyear rentals at quarterback pretty good but that's mostly be because he's a third down back he he can get draws he can do he's a good pass protector he can actually catch the ball decently out of the back field per ry's more of a PowerBack though he's not really a Juiced up Twitchy Runner I think that the role you would utilize samaj perine for is identical to the role you're going to have for Ezekiel Elliott so I don't need two of those guys again if you're going to do by committee got to have different skill sets in said committee Tim Patrick is apparently available in Denver I'd probably have more interest here if I didn't have some confidence in Jaylen Tolbert Plus or C Lam hadn't already been signed um red flag that Denver is moving on from him to an extent he's also not really played football in two years so if I needed a veteran I'd have a lot of interest like I think like the Lions make so much sense for Tim Patrick more so than Dallas does I might go more in depth on this on a future video cuz ESPN mentioned it Alan Lazard uh this was on on the argument of oh well lamb has signed yet and then he signed you know 6 hours later again I I think Jaylen tolbert's better I I I don't need plus I don't need another slow receiver I'm adding a receiver he's got to have athletic juice I'm tired of being a slow skill position group so will the Cowboys make another trade one for yes zero for no go ahead candidates we've discussed before I talked to Jeremy chel as our Texans host he thinks it's a chance that Pierce is is potentially on his way out uh or is on the bubble can he was bad last year he was bad in the preseason but the draft Capital the age the previous campaign we saw back in 2022 at least worth potentially exploring I am most interested in incl Herbert because he's been really good as an early Down lead back when give him the chance he's not a great third down guy I have guys that can be good third down guys for me I think he'd be I think he'd be the best back on your roster so if veis Jones is actually a piece in Chicago in the backfield along with Roshan Johnson Andor Travis Homer and of course DeAndre Swift I I would I this is the name I'm calling about first if I'm Dallas to get a better back in my room dolphins have some injuries in the back field so we'll see what they end up doing at the running back position Jeff Wilson Jr is is an option uh veteran name who again kind of is more of your early down less twitched up name I wouldn't never really put much stock into kendre Miller but I don't know if you guys have been paying attention just I don't expect you to because it's the Saints uh Dennis Allen hates this man I I have I have never seen a coach so consistently just just body someone in the media now a big issue is that kendre Miller has not been healthy which is something you have to be worried about but Cowboys like to go at TCU third round pick that that's a bigger investment made than some of the other options for you we'll see about Israel Banda uh had a really good preseason finale which I think might have hurt the chances there uh again I for what you have in your committee you don't have the juice right now aananda has the juice and also return value did did did it pretty impressively in a small sample size at pit I would have a ton of interest there I would happily trade for him I don't know if the Jets are going to shop him though Elija Elijah Mitchell could be on the move too he might be a cut candidate in San Francisco they got Jordan Mason Isaac rundo looks really good behind Christian mcaffrey but again did the Cowboys want to he's got injury history has kind of maybe lost a step these are names you have to consider these are the names that I think we should at least watch for no guarantee they're available they get traded for they get cut but I think they are actually better than what you have on your roster in in different potential roles one player cut today so far again we'll break down the entire list later this afternoon pton hendershots no surprise there peliso claim there could be some waiver wire interest we'll see I think he might not be back on the practice squad I think Dallas likes brev span for
