the studio and then on the road with three characters yes hitting the road 34 City Tour kicking off in Philadelphia tomorrow how does it feel I mean I just said you have every award imaginable and the title of great mom oh thank you and now you're back at this yes I I love it because it is a part of just the fabric of who I am you know I love people and I love to encourage people and my life has been a collection of great highs great lows but God has been so consistent with me and so my job is to let people know how they make it through to the other side of it I love that you said that's your job yeah yeah um you know people come to you all the time I see folks looking at you and they it's almost as if they're looking for the answer through you but your answer is your story absolutely it's my story of Triumph it's my story of patience it's my story of endurance and you know the word tells us about patient endurance you know you can you can have endurance but are you patient you know and I think what's been the biggest thing to teach you the patience and the endurance wow um you know how it is when you have a dream and you know you know you've pinpointed it I'm you know we're viros so you know we're we're we're really logistic we are and so I'm like okay so by the time I'm 15 and by the time I'm 21 and once I graduate from college I'm so and so and so and so and so and God's like child listen do do we really want to have this conversation you want to have this conversation with me I have so many Divine surprises and on the way to those things you will have to deal with some stuff so that you'll know how to react when you get to the destination it's so true and I was thinking about you when I was in Dallas uh uh joining our Sisters of the AKA Taylor is a Sor her daughter is a Sor 23 years old um backstage yes that's my baby the AKA took over hour so you know whether you are part of a sorority divine nine or just your church community means everything to you find not you have allowed people not to feel alone and I love that um because I don't want anyone to feel that because you and I have these huge platforms that there's this wonderful magical Wonderland that we live in that you know makes us um Escape real life yeah because life be lifing life be life just like you said I mean how in the world is Moses going to his first kindergarten I can't believe it but that's what you do you reveal the truth of life through your music through the way you live your life you just did an interview and and you said you don't like the word reinvent because you feel it means that the first version of yourself wasn't good I that I just you like evolve you have to evolve I love that and you know than God for who you were because that's who you were you were who you needed to be at that moment you know and so of course at 63 I can't go back to 23 and be like thank you think about it get out of here but listen the 23-year-old who was about to graduate from Texas Southern University had to be that person and I could not sidestep anything in my life to get to 63 and have all this wisdom and knowledge so I thank God for the young girl who lost her father at 13 I thank God for the young girl who helped mom I thank God for the young girl who graduated uh Texas Southern University and like oh I'm going to take the med you know meteor World by storm and blah blah and God's like nah I need you to sing yeah and I'm like okay God but I really want to be aome I'm glad you listened to God I'm so happy you did and that thinking has led you to the new music this
