told then I had my first day with more yeah no it was great what was our first day our first day what was it well I don't it's hard to say because we'd seen we'd met each other a few times before that and we'd had some read read throughs of scenes yeah but um I mean the first that couldn't have been the first day but we had a really nice day where um I think I think it's obvious the galadriel's captured and uh there's a scene where there's just gadriel the only uh elf in this orc camp and uh she suddenly is there and it's just this you know it's a really kind of uh it was really magical actually it felt really magical and it was just a really nice day for whatever reason we had a nice day nice easy day shooting and uh with Robert strange who plays glug as well we had a nice time also the days with the Orcs are just wonderful because um I think it's very freeing and fun to be an orc yeah and also actually on that day somewhat my friend's boyfriend was an orc oh that's he background like and so yeah those days were always kind of feel really exciting and everyone's just kind of you're really boosted up by all these Orcs around you we're in 24 know what day it is we filmed this in 22 and 23 this season season one finished I guess in 21 who knows um but yeah it's been a long time as you can probably tell and it's a year and a half between the two yeah that but it's a joy to be able to have this in our lives and to come back to it and then step away and you might do something else and but you always thinking about at least I find myself if I'm doing a different character to be like oh yeah that was quite sour on what I just did yeah yeah like know that always just kind of lives within you it's it's lovely to have a long running thing going on in the back you know when you as Charlie says when you're doing other stuff it's I know it's very grounding and you know and you look forward because we all get on so well and we so enjoy what we do M you know it's really great to come back in in season two they'd expanded um our set and the vastness of it was just incredible I couldn't believe it you know it's you walk onto different sets um in and other jobs that you do and yeah you they're made to look like a the real the real thing and but here they've literally built a massive cave you know and corridors and mines and and Chambers it's it's and it's beautifully late it's amazing and then cut two you know the the door is open to the studio next to you and you see a massive Forest inside there and it's just it's just wonderful it's a big big lovely playground a lot of our stuff was location again this time around I mean ten we filmed in tenie we did a bit of set work but a lot of the stuff in in tenie which was hot and Sandy but extraordinary place to film and uh you know up a volcano um really good landscape for this area that we're we're exploring called run which I don't think it's been seen on the on the screen before um how did it feel for you in the in the I mean there also to be able to my first day was within Tom's home uh and seeing the production values sort of straight off and the imagination that goes into that uh and the and how much they've understood the character as I have understood the character without necessarily being well I actually watched it as a fan cuz I loved the movies growing up and I was if if I wasn't in it I'd definitely be watching so I sort of watched it and just was excited to see everyone else's performance no judgment but just out of like out of pure share curiosity well do you not watch a lot of the work that you do it's or is it hard to It's not that it's hard you know I I actually like watching it um but also I get slightly bored um not just it's just cuz you've you've been in it you've done it you know things that you you there there's a gift that you make in in when you do a role that is like you you do have to give up the magic the the viewing magic you know that experience that you're giving forward um that other actors gift you you know so it's like the the I have such a different experience with my character um that sometimes it's difficult to get like latch on to to the show not this one though this one I watched and rewatched and I I really I also enjoy watching my action sequences cuzz I'm like you did that I've watched episode 6 like many times in season one you know there's a lot of setup bringing people to the second age of Middle Earth and introducing Our Heroes and and our villains um and season two we're now at a point of the story where we can just go uh Sauron grabs hold of the narrative from moment one and really never lets go um so uh that's a fun thing and it's also fun to have done it once before uh just in terms of as creators um sort of trying things out and figuring out what really works in um this age in this medium in this storytelling format um and then knowing our actors better you know their voices so you can write to each of them write to some of their strengths and um Having learned more about them the fact that like Ben Walker sings we could write a song for Ben Walker um you know and so to come back and be able to you know double down on things that worked really well season one and then also try some new things um season 2 is just a real Joy
