my that's unbelievable that's still spinning leester it's land on Leicester today yes uh which is absolutely perfect um what do you do you make of your former side Leicester now of course because uh they've all it's always been since they won the Premier League so much expectation for so many reasons there was a lot last season for them to get promotion they got it of course um Leicester City manager left and now they've got a new manager in charge they've got some new players coming they've they've lost a few important players old players are still there you were mentioning Jamie vardy earlier what do you make of your old olds side Leicester at the moment yeah I think over the years obviously since we we we won the league um and we we had that good spell after under Brendan Rogers as well with the FA Cup and I think once we once we got the relegation that was uh that sort of leveled everything out a little bit as as bad as that was to go down the it leveled the expectation levels uh slightly um we then managed to get promoted and and I think this season is it's going to be difficult um I'm under No Illusion about that um I think the way obviously with moresa leaving and the way that he played last season the the football he played is going to be totally different to the way that Steve Cooper is going to play so there's going to be a period where the the players are going to have to adjust to the different ways the different styles uh the different way of playing um and I'm I've I'm sure there'll be some teething problems within that uh but they have got quality they have got quality throughout um I'd like to see them get maybe one or two maybe three more signings through the door before before the start of the season um but yeah I'm I'm hoping just as as much as every every Leicester fan that that can that can stay in the league and and give a good good account for themselves sh have lost some big players um obviously the biggest there being Michael Bryan he says that he's out of the the club huge name but ke and Drew brall I watched him a lot last season good player gone to Chelsea which is a a big step up in terms of size how much of a Miss will he be in that list side it will be a big Miss yeah and that's one of the areas where I would like to see them them strengthen I think they definitely need to replace him because I think his uh his stats last year his assists his goals um that's a big big loss out of out of the team um his work ethic as well so I think it's it's important that we replaceing in that area um but I think possibly a striker as well it would be I don't think like on on with you with with v and we was just talking about it there off off the Record and he uh as good as he is we can't Leicester can't be relying on on a 30 38 year old 38 37 I probably took the year on him there um can't be relying on him through throughout the whole season in the Premier League you don't think he could get 15 to because I've got this funny feeling because he's signed a year extension hasn't he this this is his last year that he goes out of a bang 15 to 20 CU you know you were you know better than anyone he scores one he goes on these rols and these runs because he started off last season quite slow didn't he and all of a sudden hit form bang let's get promoted no I agree I agree and I think the big the big thing is like you see when they get to get to a certain age and they'll probably pick up little niggles and and stuff like that so if they can keep him fit and he can stay fit all season I've got no doubt that he'll score the goals um but it's just the amount of games that that might be demanded on him could could take their toll I'm hoping not uh but he keeps himself in in good Nick and um and Chelsea Transfers he can he can be firing you uh did you play Under Mesa last season you were on loan at West Brom right did you play much underes no I was on loan at West Brom the season before for okay where were you where were you online last season no I was there last season are you okay fine Jesus Christ did you did you play much every game h no no I I always beit Parts here and there um but you played under him right you know you know what he's like in the dressing room yeah what what kind of manager have Chelsea got it's the way that the way that he plays football is when when he first introduced it to to to us at Leicester it was to it was a totally different way of think about football um so I know what you're alluding to about the the fact that sort of Chelsea have probably struggled in preseason um and I would understand why I I would totally understand why because it is like I said earlier about Leicester having to adapt from that way of playing to the new way of playing as well Chelsea will be doing exactly the same thing they'll be they'll be learning new ideas and uh and different different ways of looking at football and are you alluding to what he said recently in a postmatch about them conceding goals and it's a hangover from last season is that where you're going with it uh bits of both really like a bit of everything really yeah like I I would say that as well but um I just think that there's so many different aspects of what he wants to do that I had never ever seen before in my time football yeah the way that the way that the center halfes would follow um follow players all the way up the other end of the field and there'd be there'd be gaps at the back and all of a sudden your other defender or your your your covering fullback is um is exposed um well that that's what he wants to do yes yeah yeah but then some Defenders will be comfortable with that because they'll back themselves with their Pace with their their their athleticism um and and others won't be um so I think it all depends like I look at last year under Leicester and some players you all know we from there right under Carlos corob bran and uh um very good no so like I think some players found it easy to adapt like a look at Ricardo Pereira who played that role where he's a right fullback but he stepped inside to to play a number six role um in the center of Midfield and um he did it like it took like a duck to water and he was he was fantastic with it and can I ask right how how difficult then is it for a manager like that with new ideas H how New Ideas different is it for him to force those ideas on more established no disrespect to Leicester players but we're talking 100 million pound players at Le uh um at Chelsea right 80 million pound players is is it different at all for a manager like Mesa to come in and say to those players this is what we need to do compared to maybe asking players at leester to do the same do you do you think have problems trying to change it is what I'm saying I I would more say I think I look at their squad this year and I look at our Squad last year and both squads are quite young and I think when you're young regardless of whether you've been transferred for 20 million 10 million 100 million if you're if you're young like you you should be you should be willing to learn even even if it's something that you don't agree with it's it's just more information that you can take on board and sort of expand your your knowledge about football and just see other methods and ways of doing things sure how will moresa deal with the pressure because there was pressure at Leicester because everybody said leester have to go back up because of the squore they had it goes to Chelsea which is a different level of pressure no disrespect to Leicester but they're expected to be winning trophies being in the top four every season because that's where they've been the last 15 to 20 years how would he deal with that pressure um I think it'll I think it's definitely a massive Step Up in pressure um I look at the the media side of it and I think at Leicester you'll get a certain amount of media before games and in your press conference press conferences and stuff but I think whereas Chelsea you can probably times that by 10 um and and the scrutiny that you'll get and the expectation there is is is to win every every single game um no matter who you're playing against so it's going to be difficult for him to to be able to do that but I look at it and I I think yeah like he's got his way of playing and some people agree some people don't but he's the type of person that will go right this is the way I want to play and if fully believes in it he fully backs it and like he won't sort of skirt away from anything so um in that in that in that case I like I I fully respect him uh let's bring it back to your former side Leicester I want to get your views on their season that's approaching but first let's have listen to Stevie Cooper he spoke to talk sport this morning and was asked about the club's Ambitions for next season I don't think there's any shame in saying that when you return from the championship the first portal call should be trying to stay in the league I know Leicester city has has done the very the very best isn't it you know and it's uh one of few that have won the the Premier League but you know we also have to put sort of the present situation and context into place and I don't think there's any shame in that but we're coming to the stage now in a couple of weeks we us about delivering and uh our way to get going it's such a fascinating scenario at Leicester because you got a s like IP switch that have come up and the expectation realistically for ipswitch win the league is is to survive right if ipswitch finish 17th they got another season in the Premier League I think it's fair Ben you're confirmed this right that's success what St the league yeah yeah has to be has to be but you got a side like Leicester that are coming up that have won the Premier League not too long ago right what realistically I mean if they finish 17th and they stay up and they've got Premier League football The Following season is that good enough for Leicester I think so yeah yeah I do think it is I think any team that comes up from from the championship that step up is huge like it it's it's so big we' seen it when like we've gone down like it's the the difference between the two leagues is is so big so I think any team that comes up
