with the Chelsea conversation we're having it it's it's there's been a change of perception right as you mentioned there was a time where at Chelsea you would expect a trophy on top four if Chelsea were to finish fifth this season technically it's an improvement of where they were it's it's a Ste it's a steady road back to where they want to be and as we said Arsenal and City are probably going to be where they want to be you're saying that Liverpool are going to compete and probably be third so that's three spots gone already so it means that what Chelsea are working with is probably the thing is right people ask me about what Chelsea can do this season everyone's got their own opinion the truth is Chelsea could be fourth or 14th yeah no seriously in somewhere in between it may well be the truth but no one has a clue I mean you mentioned about moresa there he's coming to his first job he has got without dis any disrespect he's got better players at Chelsea had at Leicester and I know you went through that wobble tell us about that wobble that a lot of people talk to me about Mark when you were top cruising and then it went through that period where I think you might even Dro down the third in in the table what what happened around that period I think there was a we we was looking for a plan B that that weren't there like like I said earlier he's got Moresco has got his his method this is exactly how he wants to work this is this is a proven like a proven a proven method that he studied over years and years of of even when he was playing and and into his coaching he's then worked under Pep Guardiola Who was Master of it so he's got this method that he believes in and believes in and even through the tough times and I think then we started like certain players started questioning um right okay well we've lost a couple of games here we need to go back to this but I think that period that we we we was in it was just a case of right teams will set up a little bit differently against us and and then we have to find a different way so if T we was used to teams playing like a low block and and we'd have the quality to beat them then all of a sudden we we got ourselves into a pos position where teams were coming and going man for man and then all of we didn't know what to do like we were stuck a little bit so we had to find the right the right solution then whether it be runs off the ball or whether whether it be sort of third man run different ways of uh of playing against different systems and different formations and even though like I said we was looking for a plan B it wasn't a plan B it was just a another way of adapting his methods like he didn't he in my in my opinion he's got a long-term as much as he's got a short a short fix where he wants to um get his ideas across he's also got a longterm thing which he he probably hasn't been able to implement at Leicester because he was only there a year but I think there's so much more to the way that he likes to play than what we showed last year I think there's I think there's a lot more uh like I said there we we've had to adapt like I think he's got a second phase a third phase a fourth phase of the style of play that he he enjoys playing I think what's very obvious at the moment as well is that specific profiles speak to him and of course he came out during the week and said well over there actually and said with Ben chill where it's probably best that he goes to look elsewhere for minutes this is someone who at one point in Chelsea is probably the most important player alongside Reese James of how attacking were from your perspective is that because of the way he plays that position and and do you think that's something that could happen more with him just not having the full for certain Chelsea players potentially I think so yeah because I I look at and chill well and in my opinion he's he's one of the best in his position in in the country in the league um I've I've believed that for for quite a few years now I've watched him grow up I've watched him turn out for England put some great performances in Vice Captain of of Chelsea football club like that speaks volumes so he's a respected player in the game of football and I look at the system that that Enzo maresa plays and I can see it a mile off he doesn't fit he doesn't fit the profile like we've we had um James Justin last year at Leicester who again I I'll speak so highly of like the way that he plays in that the right back role that was um fashionable about three or four years ago where you're bombing on you like Kyle Walker mastered it he he was the ultimate um and he James Justin was was incredible like got in the England squad um and then all of a sudden Enzo maresa come in he says he wants inverted fullbacks so James Justin isn't in inverted fullback so it totally takes it that away from him whereas we had Ricardo Pereira who was ready made for that role like he was fantastic in it and like I said just touching on what I was saying earlier about like he's got different phases of of I look at pet what what what peped at city and he went from he wanted his Wingers coming in uh coming inside and basically being being Strikers to then he then changed that right I want my Wingers to stay wide high and wide stretch the game create that space in the middle I just think it's it's ever evolving like it's it's just constant it's just different things these guys study football our Teta is the same these guys are football obsessed and they study every little bit of the game and moresa is exactly the same that that we constantly coming up with new ideas new ways to play that we triing things like we we had International breaks um last season and moresa used that as a as a chance to try something else Not only was Ricardo Pereira playing in a sort of a six role he was then going on to a 10 roll like and and playing playing higher and he he was using the international breaks to do that a lot of the time previously International breaks were right have a week off lad if you're not going away have a week off get yourself to Du byai he was like no like we like we're trying this we're going to try this out and see sure enough the next game back was playing that system so it's it's just ever evolving in my opinion and these are the managers that are obsessed with football that that are taken it to that level well I mean I saw Wilfred inde DED they go from a SI to eight for Leicester so I mean if Moes C becomes Chelsea's go scoring might be a bit interesting can I just go back to T though I I think it's awful how how they treated him by doing that coming out and saying yeah he should I just think it shouldn't be so public there's not a football club in the country that hasn't treated a player like that I'm not no I'm not saying that I had it done to me spurs I'm not yeah but Mark will tell you if a club wants you gone you can go from B in the first team to in the stiffs we need him out of here and he's a big owner I'm not saying it's right but come on you telling me lip haven't done that I'm know probably probably it's still I still feel like it's just not the right way to treat someone Ben chill that was awful Conor it's not the way to do it okay how is the way no I mean have a word with the player let the player know don't have to do it so publicly who wants to lose their job in public I mean I'm not a footballer but if I turn on the TV don't don't feel sorry for me no forget the money out of it and all that if I turned on the TV and my companies told me yeah you got no job tomorrow i' be like hold you have a job you have a job and you're you're on the thick end of 100,000 a week plus right but money money you have money still doesn't fixin it ain't right it never will be but it's how football club football clubs are ruthless and they come in they don't want Shala Connor clearly and and chill well on the books they want their W they want the wages off they want the players gone it's ruthless football is a ruthless industry and as fans I don't like to see it I don't but what would say it happens I think what they could have done better is we we don't know conversations that have have been had but surely when Enzo moresa come in he knows the type of player that Ben Chell is surely that that decision and Ben could have been told at the start of at the start of the preseason at the start the end of the offseason when whenever moresa come in like week or two after so that he it him time all of a sudden what what's he got two two weeks to two weeks to find a new club that are going to pay his wages like there's so much that goes into a transfer now especially one that that will be as big as that that it's going to be very difficult so I just think he could have been given more time to to to be able to find that probably has taken place isn't that you would have thought possibly but I just think we would have heard about it I just think it it would have come out how how dam is it though on the perception of Chelsea especially if you look at the the Conor situation of you know allegedly has been asked not to train the squad that ftic move then falls through then it's like oh you know you've been invited back to training it's like the Big Brother house you can come back and join us now how bad is that perception affected fans don't like it I don't like it fans don't like it yeah you want your especially someone like Conor who Chelsea through and through he was our captain but but the thing is if he doesn't move between now and the end of the transfer window his season is probably over yeah and that I think that's the pressure the club wrongly or rightly and I'm not saying I agree with it but it's basically if you stay here you'll be watching the games from the stands you will not be in the squad you'll be paying your huge and that can't that can't be good for Connor it can't be good for Ben can't be good for for for chela it's a massive season for Connor Gallagher massive season he's he's got himself into into the England squad he's he's really sort of coming and it's it's huge that he now's the time for him to kick on now's the time for him to kick on and go go to to to to different heights and if if the worst happens and and the the deal does fall through and he don't get a move it's it's terrible for him what's it in the change room though when that happens when you might have a player that's either down tools or there's a player whose movees not going through does that affect the camaraderie in that change room at time it will yeah of course of course it will but obviously they're by the sounds of it they're not in the changing room they they're total the building so yeah so it's um it probably won't have as as as big effect as as what it could have but um I think yeah I think if there's quite a few that that's in that situation even the the players that are there that that are wanted are probably thinking that could be me next year or year so I think there's just it must unsettle few a few players to know you you come to a club and someone like gallago who's been there how long and chill well and then they're being told yeah you got to go you must be sitting there thinking hold on a minute I'm flavored from now but am I going to be okay next season yeah but I know you keep people keep saying that it's football and this that and other but everybody wants a little bit of stability nobody wants that uncertainty in anything that they're doing I'm sure like doesn't matter what your trade is you want to know okay I've got a job two three years at least you don't want to know like every five minutes looking over
