[Music] what up welcome back to [ __ ] talking Tuesdays we're your host Mariah and Ty Ty NFL cutdown day we got yeah bunch to get into how you feeling what's up I'm doing good feeling good today is a good day we we know the base of the roster well most of the roster right so it's exciting times we know who we're going into battle with so let's get it yep yep um we're we know it's it's not exciting times for some a few players obviously you know some they had their time with the 49ers cut um some will make their way back to the pro practice squad maybe back to the roster um a few surprises um when we're gonna get into the roster here but yeah I'd say for the most part you know we didn't have too much you know that we didn't know it's not like a a team of unknown right like we have our known starters and it was like okay well we have a few open spots who's gonna make the roster of all these contestants and we got them so yeah chat how we feeling how you doing Happy Tuesday [ __ ] Niners may be joining maybe not um he's having a little technical difficulties as was I um so hopefully he makes it here so you guys might be seeing him um join in hopefully might pop Billy special cards what's good Joel what up what going on Joel be paperoni what's good great day to be a fan this [ __ ] exactly that's right bot all right so let me pull up the 49ers um you know little roster here the list so we can take a look look at that stud right there our qb1 no surprise Brock pie of course all right quarterbacks I don't think you know there's too much of a surprise here I'm interested to see how they end up listing this on the depth chart now that's what I'm curious to see of the quarterback room most of all um because I don't think it was a surpris that they're going to keep all three of the guys on the 53 um but to see who actually ended up winning um that backup quarterback job that's what I'm interested to see because I don't think nothing's come out about it yet that I've heard or seen or anything so we still gotta wait to find out that but exactly thoughts on the quarterbacks yeah I I don't think there's any shock here um these are pretty much the top three guys all throughout camp and uh the preseason games I know there was a contingent of fans out there who are rooting for Tanner morai um hey you like who you like um but just in terms of playing time if you looked at who got into games who played the most you know it was definitely aside from Brock we know he's the starter it was Josh dos and Brandon Allen so I don't think there shouldn't be any real shock there um those are the three on the roster and those are three we're going to go into into the season with and look who decided to join us oh uh oh and now Mariah's cutting everybody off you know yeah because I had the other technical issues the fumbling the fingers you know I like the 3 by3 yeah but then I'm not gonna be able to display stuff right and Tony's blacked out on us he went to fully Sopranos on us he's there and then screaming black what up with that let me see let me see what's going on here you guys hold on and this sun is sunning right now I am like yellow and gold and everything now he's back now he's back he says screw the laptop and went to the phone n this laptop's driving me nuts bro you went to the phone I'm the most like I'm not a computer person whatsoever put my earbuds in they freaking work you guys hear me yeah he I'm not a computer person I'm just ready to take this thing and throw it across the room um so we're just getting into the you know breaking down um the moves here starting at the quarterbacks and you know talking about fan part of this fan base liked um Mr morai but obviously you know he gets I think he could make it back to the practice squad you never know but he could make it back I don't think there was ever gonna be a chance that he made it to this roster over one of these guys we'll see Tom signing guys go ahead Tony I thought there could be a slight chance I thought there could be a slight chance like if if they moved on from one of the quarterbacks whether it was Al Allen or dobs um I thought there could have been a slight chance but I mean listen I like him I like what he's shown the minimal that we've seen from him he has a ton of experience playing the position at the Collegian it's kind of like reminds me of a brock pie type quarterback but you know I'm not obviously I'm not saying he is good but you know it's one of those developmental guys you don't want to just keep every year year in and year out trying to debate on who's gonna be your backup like signing Josh dos this year the guy Brandon Allen last year you want to solidify that and that's a great way to bring a young guy into develop him you know keep him on a controlled Roster number I mean financially at least and um and just continue to develop him going forward but we'll see yeah hey s what's up Bashar drive safe yeah I agree with you Tony I I got clearly see them bringing him back to the the the practice squad and just you know developing him in the background like they do other players yep same all right let's move [Music] on let's see who they all right running backs running backs now there's a name that's you know a little different here we got four running backs they kept on the roster and then obviously um juice they did announce um that Elijah Mitchell was put on season ending IR he also will be a free agent after this season so his time with the 49ers is most likely probably done he probably should start looking at what to do after football because it's unfortunate but the guy just can't stay healthy um but the running backs that did make the roster obviously CMC no surprise Jordan Mason no surprise um Isaac gendo came back healthy right in the Nica time and secured his roster spot hopefully he changes numbers now um but then you have Patrick Taylor Jr making the roster um thought on this running back room guys good wow I like it we knew the top two was going to be CMC Jordan Mason um Isaac Reno they drafted him speed he was a former receiver wide receiver so he has the ability to catch the ball um some things there and Patrick Taylor Jr was the surprise of Camp everybody who went to training camp said this dude was running hard and making play play and he looked good and we saw him a bit um in the preseason games and he did look good um I think it's a shock that he's there because we we saw so saw him on a limited basis but of course the 49ers saw him up close and personal so there he is and with uh Elijah Mitchell being put on IR there you are but I think it's a it's a strong strong room and don't have to give the ball a CMC on every freaking down now like give these young guys some carries so uh I'm excited about this running back room what say you Tony yeah I mean I think first of all does anybody know what the injury is to Mitchell no no clue I'm just very confused on that whole situation yeah me too it's very odd but whatever it is what it is they got to move forward uh mcaffrey obviously is the the focal point of the offense Jason deserves the backup roll um uh what the hell's his name gendo I'm sorry gendo gendo's still a little raw as a running back I I like what he gives as as a return guy I think he has to work on getting the timing in the Rhythm and being a little bit patient waiting for the hole to to you know appear and then attack it um yeah but um what the hell is his name Taylor right Patrick Taylor Taylor is the guy that I think could potentially take over Jordan Mason role on the Special Teams as well as offer something as a third down back I know gendo is that guy as well but I think he offers more experience in this offense coming from Green Bay he probably is a better uh in Blitz pickup protection when they're in a pass set formation so it's going to be interesting I just hope to God like you know something happens with I think Trent Williams is going to be in Camp Within next two days I think that deal is going to be is a lot easier than what they're making it to be uh the iuk situation I don't know what's going to happen with that but it's it needs to come to an end because I'm tired of hearing about it so you want to be here [ __ ] get off the pot or get the hell out we'll trade you get what you can get from him wipe your hands agreed agreed I do like this because I I just hope Kyle doesn't load mcaffrey again use these younger guys use their fresh legs use Mason you want to come out and run a power attack and formation you do that with Mason and Taylor downhill Runners so I I like it I like it so I just want to see you now come to fruition and see how it looks on uh Monday September 9th at at 800 PM hopefully these guys get some carries yeah soat Taylor Patrick Taylor Jr he's the guy that had came from um Green Bay just to refresh everyone's memory and then they have him listed at 62 216 pounds he's big boy yeah so so when his third and one third and goal and mcaffrey has just taking a beating for the past 90 yards to get us down there put in one of these young Bulls let them put their head down and and and get in the end zone and you saw it in the game versus the Raiders he punched it in when gendo had that long return exactly that that's exactly it right there only 26 yeah those guys are young yeah I'm liking this running back um room what's up Lee good to see you what's up darwins um all right let's move on to the wide receivers now they kept one more wide receiver this season than what they normally do um that shows you obviously what they think of this wide receiver room I know a lot of us had you know the first two four six you know pretty much okay the we think these are going to be the six um you know and then well what was gonna happen with Ronnie Bell obviously we saw Danny gray got released right well Ronny Bell obviously they thought I I didn't know like I thought it would have been hella crazy for them to release Ronnie Bell already right like it's not like last season he like don't it up like yeah he was a shitty returner but they asked him to do that in the middle of the season they he wasn't planning on doing that like right use him as a wide receiver and when we needed him he was fine you know it's not like he was [ __ ] terrible um yeah in these preseason games he had the dropsies but we know that that's not something that has shown to be like he didn't have that in college right like it's not something that's a pattern that it's like okay this guy's just not GNA freaking figure it out you know um so and I thought okay if they release Ronny Bell he ain't making it back to the proce squad because remember his college coach is right over there um with the Chargers now and you know I'm sure he would have swooped them up so 49ers keep Debo Ronnie Bell Brandon auk obviously he has to count towards the roster because he wasn't an hold out like um Trent even though he's here you know so he has to count against roster um Ricky peaw Joan Jennings Chris Conley and Jacob calling one last thing before you guys go I'm so glad to see that Chris Conley made the 53 because he deserves that spot and I was gonna be sick to my freaking stomach if the 49ers jacked him around like how they did last season and last you know like give the guy a spot like he's totally stayed on the practice squad these last couple years pulled up when he needs to be shows up every time we ask him to Big Time plays from him in the playoffs you know all through that run um and then it carried right on over to training camp and the preseason guy has been a total stud so I'm so glad to see that you know he finally got his 53 50 53 man roster spot what do you guys think go ahead Tony you go first this time yeah absolutely and I said this to Mike um the other day I honestly feel if with the concern of piure Soul shoulder uh the inexperience of coing not a knock against him I think cow's goingon to be a great receiver in his offense I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the number one role opposite of um Debo if it came down to it if auk still wants to continue his [ __ ] I think they Trot him out there with the ones yeah I can see that I I agree 100% And clearly obviously let's keep it real if something happens with and he decides to sign the contract and he returns I think W's name will be be released Ronnie Bell and try revert him to the practice squad um or even if they decide to trade Debo not Debo uh Brandon auk um I still think Connelly would be given the first opportunity to be the start starting receiver opposite of uh dvo sers Samuels yeah yeah I agree um I don't think there is any surprise with the list I think the big surprise is that they went with six seven instead of six um con Le a lot of people rooting for him us obviously and me is a guy who he knows all three positions he's not called upon a lot but when he is he makes plays he performs he get out he gets out there and does his job and he also has some value on special teams he's out there tracking people down so um it's good that he made the team I agree with you Tony he's a guy that you could count on just try him out there with the ones and ask him to do anything and he's all for it he for it he's a team player so I'm very happy about that um everybody else not a shocker they are who they are you know and Ronnie Bell making the team is the only one that was a big question and that's just because team has so much depth in it yep you know you figured he would be the odd man out and like Tony said if a move is made somebody comes if they need to make room and you know a wide receiver has to go I think he'd be the first one gone but as a short-handed like slot receiver to get out there I I don't mind him I don't mind him I know he drops se's in preseason but he's normally good out there so um I'm very happy with the wide receiver room I think Brock has his targets and we should be rolling passing game should not struggle OA independent but we'll get to them what's up Sim what's up what's up leaving all right let's move right along to the tight ends now another surprise we are all wondering which young tight ends are they going to end up keeping back and forth all this well they're all gone um the 49ers go with only two tight ends on the 53 and George KD and Jake tongus thoughts on this um I'm I'm going to go first with this TI there there's games being played by team right now this is Cap juggling by the team guys like um sbert and Thomas if they stay on the roster and they make it through the cuts to the final 53 their salaries become guaranteed so with that being said obviously there's no one going to be breaking down their doors to bring them in at at least I think of to the 40 uh to another team from the 49ers I think the ners wave them and they're going to bring them back one of them back if not two of them back or listen waiver claims they could be putting claims in on waivers uh uh waivers for tight ends there's multiple position groups that there's guys on this roster right now that might not be on the roster after four o'clock tomorrow because once these claims hit they're going to have to make corresponding moves like I think right now the Niners could easily open up four spots right now if they had to easily and I'm really shocked that they brought huanga activated because I don't think huanga is ready to play yeah he can jog all he wants but running cutting or two different things than jogging in a straight line in a controlled environment so I was really shocked by him coming back and I'm just keeping it real with you but I I do think there is a ton of flexibility still with this roster they can do 4 to five moves and add pieces to the puzle hold on guys just give me one second yeah yeah yeah real quick before you go Ty um David Lombardi had put out there that because you know we haven't got to these position groups yet but when we do um joh John Feliciano and Ambry Thomas are on here as making the 53 however they're headed to the IR so once they get to IR that opens up those two spots now David Lombardi is under the impression that those two spots will go to Eric sabert and rock Yen Okay so if it goes to Eric saber obviously then that's bringing you know that'll take us tight tight ends yeah yeah well we we we we all know that this is not the final final 53 man roster this is just the initial cutdown roster right this is just to get the 53 to adhere to League guidelines yeah there's still a ton of moves they're gonna make um I think it was shocking that they only initially kept two but I understand it yeah because you know after George KD this is a huge heads scratcher as to who would remain and I'm with Tony on the salary cap thing and they they do this a lot whether cut a player and then bring them back to avoid you know some salary stuff and help them out but aside from that it's like I don't think they were really impressed or happy or you know overly thrilled with any of the guys that they released yeah so you know you know since he is a vet he doesn't have to go through the waivers and all that [ __ ] so that's why they're expecting he comes back now with the younger guys I'm not expect I mean it may happen but I'm not expecting that somebody's gonna claim Cameron latu um Braden Willis maybe but you never know but yeah you know all three of them as in latu Pline um Mason Pine and Braden Willis all go on to waivers so if they clear waivers you know that we could take any of those guys back to the practice spot yeah which then you know changes you know obviously numbers exactly and if a roster stop roster spot opens up yeah um they could be moved into it like Feliciano we know he just had surgery so he's going to be out until you know midseason yeah so that's definitely one roster spot right there so yeah I'm just interested to see which guy will be that third tight end because you know they like it's gonna be sober yeah so it'll be sober unless he decides to bounce and go somewhere but yeah this thing was a head scratcher to begin with so I'm not shocked just to see two guys listed there and usually with these guys you know if Saber is one that they're planning to bring back once you know one of these two guys go to IR um they've already worked that out with him it's not just like Hey we're going to cut you and throw you to the woles no it's hey we're gonna cut you once the spot gets open we're bringing you back you know like so it's already like agreed upon thing so it's not like some exactly blindsided freaking thing like no these are discuss planning on being on this roster you know it's already agreed upon it's already in the works and he'll be back yeah these are these agreed handshake deals that they do all the time and every team does it all right offensive line now like I just mentioned John Feliciano is on here right now however he'll soon go to the IR um so we got John Feliciano Nick zel Jake brindle Aaron B Banks Colton mckivitz Spencer berford Jaylen Moore and Dominic puny and then Trent Williams since he's a hold out he is on the hold out did not report list so he does not count against the 53 right now exactly thoughts yeah um you know these are the guys we kind of expected to be there I don't think there's any shock um I think it's just interesting that they didn't try to keep another tackle just one guy you know one extra guy in case of emergency um you know I thought I would have thought they would have like listed felici on IR immediately and then no because there's different rules to that you can only bring back two guys then or that's on season ending so they have to list them and do it this way yeah but there's that rule where you can list two guys right yeah they already designated one who was the one um wasn't it him it's Kalia Davis oia Davis so they only got one spot left so they had to list them yeah so they're they're they're stuck yeah so there you go but yeah um yeah is our starting offensive line and preseason is there so that's fine if Trent come back comes back that just strengthens that strengthens them even more we know Aaron Banks should be back week one fingers crossed knock on wood knock knock knock so I'm fine with this group you know yeah they'll be okay um it's just getting the backups sorted out because we know how crucial the backups are just getting that sorted out that's what I'm waiting to see Tony in there is he in there no still gone okay I'm not on my screen so all right let's move right along switch to my computer I finally got it to work all right defensive well you said one second he's switching there you go but dine want to wait for him do o line oh there he is get SIM off the screen you want to talk about the o line before we move yes it'll be it'll be quick sweet short whatever you want to call it it'll be quick I I have a little bit gripe with the offensive line okay which great I what I don't understand is how they have Feliciano on this Ro on this roster right now but I know I kind of understand how they have him there he's going to be once Trent Williams comes back Trent Williams will take his place because Trent Williams is not on the roster but my thing is you have two young solid players that are on this Ro that just were released from this roster Kingston from USC their sixth round draft seventh round draft piic and uh newent the undra Michigan I personally think and I'm gonna keep it real with you guys I would take nent as the center over zakel but the problem zakel is obviously bigger height than nent and I gotta be keep it real with you I rather zakel didn't impress me he had a couple solid games okay he had a couple good reps he struggled a little bit on versus Oakland I mean versus Las Vegas I'm sorry um but I I just feel the young pieces that the Niners added through the draft and undrafted free agency were solid pieces on film in this in this system so why are they going away from it why why are they letting those two guys risking that to go hit the wire and potentially be claimed I'm just not I'm not feeling it I don't like a center that's six foot six that's my problem right all your top-notch centers were short guys 62 like you look at guys like even with back to the Dallas Ste Mark stepnowski was barely six foot barely weighed 280 pounds look at for example Eagle Center um oh he just retired I just lost it uh Kelsey Jason Kel I can't believe I a blank on that you want your centers to be stocky short smaller and get under the pads of the leverage leverage exactly want leverage and that's why I'm shocked and I'll even say this Brendle in preseason didn't look good in my opinion I thought he struggled a little bit I mean I know this team right now is in a super has a Super Bowl window open and they're they're they're trying to make that run this year to finally solidify fight and win a Super Bowl but why would you let a talented Center like that off your roster and risk him to waivers that's just my gripe with that they gave up two young guys that are talented I mean more than likely they will revert back to the practice clad because you know maybe teams don't like him don't fit in their scheme but they I think in my opinion fit good in this scheme and you know listen they hit something with puny they hit something with puny as a starting Right Guard my issue is they have to be aware because next year I don't think Feliciano is going to be here I don't think brendle's going to be here and I don't think banks is going to be here nope especially if they give Brandon iuk the money that he's looking for so oh my God is that true what Kenny just put on there no it can't be he's he's an undrafted free agent no that's not true yeah around lost my mind right now that's Kenny being and Ken he's Ming around um but yeah that's that's it with the but but but but does it shock you though with the way they handle the offensive line like head scratching moves that they make for them to walk to have no backup tackles right now on that line that's we were talking about when you gone but that tells Trent Williams is coming back they would never never do that yeah without some type of assurance that Trent Williams is coming back so I actually I feel confident about that yeah that was the only my thoughts exactly the only way they could possibly roll into that the season like you know like there's no freaking way like you're risking what what if both your starting tackles go down yeah like there's no way in hell that you'd go into a season like that so yeah Trent has to be his ass better show up like get your ass in here boy and they better pay him too like he shouldn't be whatever fourth fifth six whatever I don't know where he's at in money but give the guy some freaking damn money and get his ass in here I just think it comes down to what's guaranteed for CH oh yeah guaranteed because none of it's guaranteed right now so yeah all right defensive line one they kept one less um than they did last season so we have Robert Beal Jr we have Leonard Floyd Kevin given Sam okon I don't know know you Jordan Elliott e gr Matos Nick Bosa Javon Hargrave and Malik Collins I don't think there's too much surprise here except for Sam I don't know you um and I think you know if something ends up happening he's probably one of the first people that end up you know getting taken off the roster to make room for other people um but here he is for now so thoughts on the dline good to yeah yeah I I don't think there's any Shockers here um this is the line we were going to go with um Sam I don't know you is a guy that everybody reported in training camp that was making plays he was he was getting after it so he also was cut during training camp so yeah and and B right back like that's that's camp for you so um yeah I don't think they're done tinkering with this line though I you know John Lynch he loves working on line he's never done so I think some you'll see some tinkering some moves being made a guy brought in like Tony mentioned earlier they're always checking that waiver wire to see what else they can do um especially having basically only three defensive ends right now um makes you think so um yeah go get after it as long as these guys stay healthy which we had a little scare there and Raiders game I I think we'll be all right yeah yeah um listen I'm not giving up hope for Robert Beal Jr I I think there's something there I like like the inexperience is still an issue but you know he he's a non like watching all the preseason and listen that those backups played every snap the whole game yeah the Niners didn't play their starters until the Raider game and they didn't even play the starters nope but these guys consistently playing and play out ran like like vers the Titans he went up against their starting offensive line of course they're going to dominate you know not dominate but have a good game vers that versus the Saints they played the first half versus the starting offensive line okay yes should they have been better um yeah they could have been a little bit better I understand that but these are young developmental players who have had no run on this team you know he was drafted out of Georgia he was a part-time player of Georgia and he's probably one of the best more well-rounded players even better than Nolan Smith because Nolan Smith can't stop the run for for [ __ ] as a defensive ENT in Philadelphia but this kid at 64255 putting on weight with still very good speed didn't lose it he plays whistle to- whistle very high motor he just has to get his techniques down yeah and you know it's year two of the project I'm not giving up on this kid and I think he's going to be the first guy off the bench when Leonard Floyd needs a rest you know even when you hear gr MOS like like I think Beal is the same type of rusher as Floyd and I think gr MOS could play the base and opposite of both in their base alignments and those two are on the field and I also think gr Matos could kick inside on passing situations so do I think this defensive line roster is set no not not whatsoever I do think they are looking for someone better than Sam whatever your name is they're looking to upgrade that this kid made made the roster I think he's probably the only guy on the defensive line no no I take that back correctly he he's the only guy versus the Raiders that got a sack so it was a high effort sack he looks good in that versus the Raiders game he's a high effort dude I don't know too much about Camp I never made it there was able to make it there but it it you're rewarding players like the Sam guy and the tungis guy to tyen who just yeah reped their asses off so and that's what you want to award reward them with right because you don't want like when it comes to undrafted free agency even though we didn't keep nobody this year and I think we should have but we didn't you don't want to set that notion now oh you ain't making that roster don't sign in San Francisco you want to keep it open like you know we keep guys we keep young guys we keep guys off the street that prove that they can play and compete at this level so I don't think the defensive line is done I still think that Sam should have an aster next to it as being off the roster especially after 400 pm tomorrow when the uh Cuts come out I mean not the cuts the Queens come out and we'll see from there um what do you do you think um Ty McGill do you think he comes back to the practice squad what do you think ends up going happening with him because I thought he had like a little role on this team he wasn't think he shitty right I I think he he could come back to the practice squad but my issue with him is he had a bad game versus the Raiders and a bad game versus the Titans stupid thato stupid penalties and koser don't go for that he's very attention to detail like you know alert stick to your keys stick to your responsibilities and I know it's preseason it doesn't mean [ __ ] but you got to be focused and maybe they just didn't like that and plus overall I think I know he lost Eric Armstead and I know people are mad and upset about that but it is a business and I hope the fans get used to this especially if they sign auk it's gonna be a bigname player every year that's gonna have to be moved on from from this team yeah but back to this I think they upgraded the interior of the defensive line I I think it's there's a ton of depth now where the depth wasn't that great last year and you you invested 250k in an undrafted free agent in Evan Anderson who I thought could have been a shot to clip the back end of his roster as player number 53 but he didn't because of what was showed by hardgrave by Malik Collins by Jordan Elliott by Kevin given so you have four defensive tackles that are legit defensive tackles and you have GMOs and potentially Sam okano whatever his name is he could even slide inside because he's a bigger frame defensive and he did that too yeah I got um Evan Anderson um Alex Barrett and t y McGill as the potential practice squad guys that they bring back for the dline yeah if they make it um but yeah I'm feeling way better about you know just obviously on paper um but this dline then how I was feeling about the dline going into last season and obviously that was with Eric Armstead and he was part of the reason why I didn't feel great about the defensive line last season because you couldn't count on him you know and it's like now yeah you don't have this big name you know Eric Armstead but no you have these guys that actually get in there that we can count on to play that aren't always hurt um and yeah I'm feeling way better about this dline right now let's move along let's see where they went linebackers all right we got got Curtis Robinson those that were trying to say he was going to get cut on um M andl show and I kept telling you guys he wasn't but you guys don't want to listen and then um we got dff we got Tatum bethon we have D Winters obviously Fred Warner and DeAndre Campbell senior um I know there's a big portion of this fan base that is sick of dff and I'm one of them I would Lov to be able to trade him away somewhere um but here he is for now um obviously some of our who who do we end up let me look at who we ended up um yeah Jaylen Graham didn't make it that's somebody um I was kind of upset about so we'll see if he clears waivers or not he could always you know come back to the practice squad and be one of their little project linebackers there but this is the list how you guys feeling good yeah I feel good about it um Curtis Robinson is like Tony just mentioned you reward guys who play he's a guy that's been here um this preseason I thought he had a great preseason um and he deserved to make this roster um and he plays special teams also so that's a plus for him I personally thought Jaylen Graham would make it over dff hey it's their decision but I I get it dff they've tried playing him at different positions and he plays special teams so maybe that factor went into it um but we knew Fred and DeAndre Campbell would be you know one and two D Winters is flying around thumping people looking like a young Dre green law no problem there and Tatum Bon Flash the rookie he looked really good this preseason so definitely hold on to him um I'm I'm happy about this room I'm cool with it I expect them to be running sideline to sideline making plays as usual and when Dre comes back and he's 100% that's only going to make them even stronger so let's give it up for the linebackers here we go yes sir I would have rather seen Graham over Flanigan Falls I think the know what Flanigan FES offer you offers them I I think they also know that this is Flanigan F's ceiling and this is what he's gonna be as an NFL player um so I think they well my opinion I think this is gonna be fenan fos period like he's not gonna be a better player at least in San Francisco in this role if he goes elsewhere and competes for a starting job that's a different story you can't project that but with San Francisco this is Flanigan F special teams backup starter um situational player of injuries stuff like that but my thing is this and this falls back again to what I mentioned earlier about roster economics and cap economics and making decisions on your cuts for that situation the Niners still have control would have had control of Graham I think for the ne for two two more years yeah on this contract yes so you have player under contract for specific cap costs you know you're covered two years with this player it's not going to go up it's not going to go down this is his contract where Flanigan f is going to be an undrafted unrestricted free agent last year he was signed as a college uh undrafted free agent um on and off the practice squad became an exclusive right free agent became a uh a DFA an exclusive right free agent a restricted free agent this off season and now he's going into his fifth year which will make him a unrestricted free agent yeah so if you know past this year you're not going to in invest in this in fling files why wouldn't you keep the younger kid where you know you have him under contract and continue to develop him right because we know what Flanigan fouls is we still don't know what Graham is Right Graham could play all over the defense he was being groomed to be the Mike linebacker behind Fred Warner he wore the dot now all of a sudden he's out of a job and they're gonna try to get him back on a practice squad bethon I'm a Florida State guy I'm sorry to say we just lost to Georgia Tech embarrassing loss but I do think bethon is a very very good linebacker he's an experienced linebacker he's a five-year senior coming out of the Collegian rages he is a good linebacker and I don't give a [ __ ] what everyone says well he ran a flow a slow 40 yard dash I could give two shits about that because his playing speed does not show what that 40 yard D shows so he's very instinctive he's consistent ly around the ball he's making tackles he led the team in tackles two games I think he had 18 or 19 tackles as an undrafted free agent I think that's good I think they found another diamond in the rough um very happy for Curtis Robinson very happy for him he earned it he deserves it um now the question is when green LW G comes back and he's ready to roll I hope it's not Curtis Robinson no me either I'm looking at that number 45 there yeah and as far as the starters I think day one when they start I think it's going to be Campbell I think it's gonna be Fred Warner and I think they might give the nod to Curtis Robinson as the third St starter it all depends it all depends on what Winter's status is as far as his ankle injury because they yet to say anything about that I believe he was supposed to get an MRI today but yeah um yeah I agree with you there yeah I was hoping a especially after hearing Curtis Robinson during his press conference when he was talking about you know like he could have signed to other teams and had you know a chance to play for a starting role or at least you know on the 53 but he kept coming back to the practice squad here because he saw something special with this linebacker group and he wanted to he knew he wasn't ready to be a starter and that he had a lot to learn and he wanted to learn under the best and you know he hoped to play himself into the role to play alongside these guys that he was looking up against I mean looking up to and trying to learn from and so I'm glad I'm really glad to see him you know like you said do all that and earn his spot um on this 53 so good for him uh okay Tony says he has to go shortly all they're working him to death appreciate you Tony when we ready all right so we got cornerbacks I don't think um obviously Ambry Thomas is on this list but he is going to the IR that's already been announced um and then you have charvarius Ward Ward Isaac yedam Daryl lutter Jr and the rookie Renardo green thoughts go ahead Tony since we might lose you in any minute jump in all right obviously travarus Ward and um dador who's listed as a DB on their breakdown of the roster are the two starting quarters without a doubt there's no question about it I think there's going to be an excellent excellent competition between yidam yam and Ronaldo green for the when the yador slides inside I think it's a win-win situation with either of them it just depends on what they want and what they like and the personal player but this is a spot that's still in flux anytime you have Ambry Thomas with a broken forearm get surgery on your active roster it tells me that there's still in flux um they moved on from for you yeah I'm coming up I moved they moved on from uh Rock sin another guy who could be signed back to the practice squad about remember I said earlier if a veteran makes the 53 his roster becomes guaranteed this is all the Frugal parts of the games and like you know exactly um so I do think Ambry Thomas will revert to the injury injur injury reserve list I do think they bring back either wac or Rocka to the active roster as the fifth quarterback well it be sixth quarterback if they decide to go six because of um what's his name not being listed there um and yeah I mean I think this is a great group it's a more deep group there's more depth this year um lutter finished strong in preseason um has all the things you're looking for in the corner speed Good Feet loose hips long arms made a great play on the twice in that game and they he even picked off the quarterback I forgot who it was me Peterman in the game so there's positives they invested a high pick on them so we're gonna see and it seems like the trans the ner the Niners are transitioning from the shorter quarters the more bigger physical get in your face and jam you type because that's what is on that roster right [Music] now yeah I'm I'm loving this room um we know Ward Lenor is the to two um I agree with Tony yam and green will fight for that third Corner Spot and you know what a fight it is you know two guys who showed aggressiveness they have ball skills like we shouldn't be holding our breath when the third Corner comes on the field nowadays we should be relaxed to know that all right we still got this it's all good they're not going to attack that third guy consistently anymore so we're good there um like Tony said I'm interested to see who's going to round out this thing because we know Thomas he's goingon to go on IR somewhere do something so who are they G to bring back who are who are they going to be able to bring bring back will it be Rock Yin will we see a return of stanel wack III who knows but um another guy will jump in here but this group that's listed I'm fine with and I'm high on derell lutter Jr they were high on him last year he's come in this season he's making plays he's healthy so he's a guy that if need he needs to get in the game I'm confident he'll make plays also yeah and again 49ers um beat writers whatever they're rumoring it out there that rock Yen will be the one to return to the active roster once Ambry Thomas goes to the IR but we will wait it out and see what happens there and then wac obviously if he clears waivers can you know Resort back to the practice spot as well which I would like to see that happen I hate you know that and again it's a numbers game he hasn't really stepped up and done you know nothing to really earn a spot over any of these guys so you know that's what happens um but he's been he made hella plays on special teams and I know he's a favorite from our UK guys over there um since you know they announced the draft pick of w exactly sad it was a sad time for them that he you know got cut hopefully we can get him back over here all right let's move right along so you guys don't have to Tony huh I said remove symmetry symmetry comment thank you just covering up Tony there we all right well Tony said he was leaving anyway so all right safeties we finish yeah it was announced that talanoa hunga will be um taken off IR they will find out Wednesday if he passes this last hurdle or not to see if he's fully cleared um so that's a wait and see for that but for now he's on the active roster so that's good we got Jer Brown hunga George odm Malik Mustafa and then they listed dador Lenor here as a defensive back for whatever reason um but I don't think there's very much of a surprise here those were the exact safeties I figured would make the roster and here we are what you guys think go ahead Tony so here's a situation where I think there's another move to be made with the safeties um number one Jer Brown as of right now Pennsylvan is going to be Jer Brown and George odm as the starters I think versus to Jets I think hu funga is not going to be on the active roster I think they're going to revert him I think they're going to try to push him this week to see what he gets put him on the IR and I think they're GNA bring back either Mahoney or uh Walker I third who they just cut again veteran guaranteed once he's on the active 53 if he makes it so they're not they're giving themselves flexibility financially so if something does happen where huun comes back and they cut Walker they're not on the hook for the one .5 million that they sign him to whatever it is I know I know it I know it doesn't sound like it's a lot but you add up all that money and believe me they're gonna have to be very frugal with this money going forward um if you add it up they're going to save money some they're they're going to have to save money somewhere so as of right now this is the four starters the four safeties that they kept I do think yeah the flip will be made with huanga after the this week of practice and um come on yeah Dante Johnson please no the legend that is Dante uh Curtis Robinson took his jersey he can't come back I'm joking I think that was his jersey [ __ ] I don't remembering jersey number I swear his rookie year when he first got here yeah so I mean the safety group it's pretty much we knew uh Mustafa is going to be here uh odm's going to be here and Browns the starter with odm um it would be nice to see if maybe Mustafa could take that step but I think they're going to go with the veteran experience with odm vers Aaron Rogers in the Jets week one until he can get more acclimated with the defense and show maybe in situational packages I think he's definitely gonna have a role especially with the hiring of um what the Brandon Staley he likes that he likes using that star player like with Jaylen Ramsey like that hybrid sa all over the place I do think they will create a role from him up in the line of scrimmage or even playing with like a a three safety look so it's going to be interesting so I it's good um I think they're content with it I think they feel comfortable with it and as a fan I I like it um the continuity is there and you don't want to on to mess with the back it but like I said if they revert him to the injur rever injur reserve one of those two guys will be back and the two starters will still be brown and odm yep yeah um I don't think it's any Shockers here um Huff I don't think Huff will be back anytime soon I mean the guy tore his ACL in week 10 was that November right yeah acl's normally take a full year for a guy to come back unless he just heals up much quicker but even then you're still talking nine months eight months so I think he has a ways to go um so right now yeah it'll be brown Odum and Mustafa I agree with you Tony 100% Mustafa just has a nose for the ball and he's a tackling machine I think I could see them doing some big nickel where he stays around the line of scrimmage and you you just let him hunt um I could definitely see that happening because you want him on the field just making plays um and if they do bring in a safety back I think it'll be Tracy Walker the third um he played a lot in the preseason more than some other guys so that that means that they they wanted they wanted to see him get more reps and get developed for whatever reason but um I'm happy with the safety group you know when Huff comes back and this is the four I'm totally stoked about it like I'm not worried about the back end at all yeah well let me jump off um it was great being you guys we should do this more often um most definitely I'm sorry this work has been crazy and I'm working like crazy hours but I promise I'll try I promise I'll try to jump on with you guys Mariah just DM me whenever you are thinking about going live I'll see if I could sneak on the offense is clicking he may kick less than he did last year he only kicked 25 field goal attempts last year that's crazy so um yeah let's go special teams much needs to be said about them yep all right let's get them out of here um so I didn't really get to look at too many of the guys that were cut from other teams because I wanted to go through and see if you know if there's any cool names we might want to add to our practice squad but I do have a couple Frank Gore Jr did not make the Bills roster now gets through and and can make his way to the 49ers practice squad and develop there while his dad is there in House perfect situation for him to be there learning under CMC under you know I'm just saying um then you also have um puka ncua's brother was on the Saints roster and did not make the 53 so he's a rookie um Samson NCA a wide receiver as well yep it's obviously we're full a wide receiver but that's just an interesting name I'm interested to see where he ends up if they end up taking him back to the practice squad um because you know he don't seem like he's as ready as puka was obviously last season when he came in and took the league by surprise but he still got the Thea blood in him and you don't know you know what he can build into so um if somebody can get him onto their practice Squad you know that might be a good thing hopefully hopefully it's not the Chiefs I don't let it be the Chiefs um then you also have Senator Ricky strumberg um he was cut or you know sent to the wavers from Washington he was just a third round pick a year ago yeah now remember this is a new regime just took over Washington and you saw them come in and they've gotten rid of a lot of players that were just drafted over there um he can play guard as well um but he is you know a Center listed as a center um so that's an interesting name to keep an eye on another one um and you know maybe practice squad he got familiarity um Orin Burks did not make the Eagles 53 so he's a vet he doesn't have to clear waivers another name to keep an eye on there um thoughts on any of those or any other names you saw flying around out there before we get out of here now the only one I saw that got cut was Frank Gore Jr so I was like okay maybe you never know we have an Insider there who can pick them up and you know with our running back room the way guys twist their knees getting out of chairs hello exactly like you never know so now we're having mystery injuries so who even knows exactly so um I'm sure there'll be a lot of names out there I I I gotta go through the list and look but um like I said this roster is not settled it is not done and I'm sure the 49ers have a whole list of players on their boards and looking at them like could we potentially bring this guy in where are we on the waiver wire we're low so it's going to be the next 24 hours starts a whole new fund cycle who's getting placed on IR who's coming in the free uh the practice squad signings etc etc yeah
