New York Jets are Reportedly in Disarray and the Vibe is Terrible | THE ODD COUPLE

all right um let's we talked about this article in the athletic where they interviewed 31 agents about a variety of topics and uh really interesting article and so we want to address a few of the uh things in it Rob G they talked about the New York Jets and Aaron roders kind of summarize what they said about that well you know what's funny about that Chris is that in that portion of the poll I guess we'll call it the agents were asked to pick which is the worst run organization in the NFL right now and the New York Jets actually finished a distant third like they weren't even close to the top two which were the Panthers and the Raiders however the comments made by one of the agents were so incendiary about the New York Jets that that's what ultimately became this just from One agent or from one one agent One agent was so Direct in his criticism of the New York Jets that ultimately became the headline of that portion of the article here's what he said quote about New York Jets there is complete disarray over there look at how they handled Aaron Rogers has one player had more power than him he skipped mini camp they've been unable to convert him into a team player the vibe inside that building is terrible well let me say this and thank you rob g i one as you know Ephraim agents know know what's going on the average listener may not know but agents know what's going on because they represent the players so if you're a player when I was covering teams you talk to the agents because they talk to their players and if the player has an issue or there's something going on in the locker room maybe there was even a fight between players in the locker room that the media had no idea about the agents know and they may tell you so agents do know what they're talking about but my first thought eph from when I read this was that's Hanan reck's agent said that immediately right I mean I and I'mma look I I did not like Aaron roders that's kind of a joke but maybe it was assign ra I mean but I did not like Rogers going to Egypt all right and Rogers is a quirky personality there's no question about that but he was at all the voluntary practices which softened a little bit about missing you know camp and all that stuff even though it wasn't right but I Ephraim I have not seen and granted I'm on outside I haven't seen evidence of them being in disarray um I yes Aaron Rogers has a lot of power and a lot of sway but that's because you're talking about a bad organization that is not won in years more than a decade since they've been to the playoffs and you're bringing in this Hall of Fame player who wanted to play for you right it's the dude who couldn't get a date and now the head cheerleader winking at him yeah he going to give her a little you going to do whatever she wants right um so do you think this agent is probably on to something um or do you think right now at least things are fine for the Jets and and they they could have a bright future this season yeah I I mean when it when when someone out of the collective jumps out and has this much hatred and this much venom strong right it it's it's it's a personal thing so you got to be you don't want to take too much like what what we do know about agents is they deal directly with clubs yep right and if something doesn't go your way that offseason depending on you know negotiating multiple players contracts or an individual player contract then you're going to lash out when you have ability to lash out right if it's going to be anonymous then you get to say whatever you want and and it's just like yeah uh it's it's a mad house there some trash and all you you you going to L out they don't know what they doing over there right right right so you have to take that for what it is it's like okay somebody's mad like you said this got to be Assan reck's uh agent right so you like I can see that perception is they have given Aaron roders a lot of of of leeway they've given a lot of rope and they've pretty much let him come in and and and create an environment uh which they believe is conducive to winning which they haven't had there in ever right Aaron Rogers two time longest streak in the league not miss they've missed the playoffs the last 13 years he's two years removed from being MVP of the league y all right uh so backtack MVPs of the league so you got to look at it like yeah when you're trying to change the culture you need people who are going to change the culture right it's just not a culture's changed we're good we got it right is is you need people going now Aaron Rogers weird he's different he's going to come in he he's going to attack things a different type of way yep right it may not be what you're used to or what you like but Aaron Rogers is Aaron Rodgers and so you have to be okay with that and I just think the organization who've been teetering around s eight n wins the last couple years with 100% zero quarterback play right I think they're willing to do whatever it takes to get Aaron Rodgers on the field because they believe that they're a quarterback away from winning the division and going into the playoffs and doing some damage so I look I pick them to win the division um it's going to be you know it's a it's a good Division I think buff Buffalo's taking a step back but they'll still be tough and you know Miami I don't think they're a championship team but you know they're they got a lot of explosiveness and they're gonna be tough um but I like the Jets on paper uh I think Rogers has a season in between his last year and Green Bay when he wasn't that good he was average I guess maybe slightly above and the MVP right so I don't think he's MVP level but I think he's closer to that than to what he showed his last year that's all they needed all they've need it is good man look like you said it and people Robert Salah and I'm not saying he's Vince Lombardi but they won seven games the last two years with the worst quarterback play in the league they beat Philadelphia Houston and buffalo last year with the worst quarterback play in the league so if he's just good that that that I'm I'm with you like that will be a huge Improvement there so where I got him winning the division where do you what do you think of the Jets this year and you know what's your outlook for them look I I think they're going to make some noise uh predicated directly on Aaron Rogers Health Aaron got some other guys that got to stay healthy too but if Aaron Rodgers is healthy uh and he can hold up coming off that Achilles injury then I believe they are definitely a playoff team I don't know about winning the division uh I think Miami is going to take a step forward I think Buffalo uh is angry I think they're mad but when you look at them running the ball the way they did the last half of the Season uh taking some of that pressure off Josh Allen I think that becomes their new uh way and so I believe that Buffalo has the the in they're in the driver seat and winning the division but I I do believe that the Jets predicated on Aron Rogers Health can make the playoffs now I got three teams which is obviously hard but I got three teams those three we've been talking about in that division making the playoffs where are you at on that I I would take it's two it's it's going to be two well that's going to be it's going to be a good team we talking about the AFC now so I know you you got AFC North itself they all for it might go right they had three last year I think they gonna get two this year it it's going to be interesting because I think the AFC South is improved like that's what I'm saying so that's what I'm saying like so do do the AFC East do do they have three teams out of all of the AFC div AFC divisions I don't see them as yeah they're three teams that possibly can do it but somewhere in there someone's gonna take a step back it's this what do you think for Rogers and he talked about this uh he had a sit down with Albert Breer and he said he just talked about like the way I want to go out is holding the Lombardi trophy which obviously every would love to do that but um what let's just not even CU obviously it doesn't seem like you think they can win the Super Bowl I don't think they'll win the Super Bowl uh he has struggled in championship games you know NFC championship games um even the one they won when he won the Super Bowl he didn't play well in that game uh so I don't think they'll get to the Super Bowl even as I think they they'll win the division and make the playoffs but let's just for the sake of discussion what does it do for his legacy if he does win this oh that'd be huge I mean because right now Aaron Rogers has one Super Bowl and that was when yeah that was a long time was when the game was played long season right time ago and so to finish off your career similar to how pton Manning did it right great great quarterback regular season everything yep five time MVP oh all the stuff right just couldn't quite get over the playoff home a guy named Tom Brady just was in the way and so now you have a Patrick Mahomes just in the way and so if Aaron Rogers were the gauntlet he would have had to go through in the AFC to hold up the Lombardi trophy would submit his legacy because you're you're you're playing at a time where every time you look round in the AFC you're going against one of the top quarterbacks in the league right so to do it not in the NFC where he won the other one but to come to a whole another conference and win one there against steeper quarterback play in teams then yes I I believe that would add a tremendous uh column to his legacy I I'm going to 40 40 and over
