Reactions To First Trump / Harris Presidential Debate

if you're just tuning in we've been talking about the presidential debate that went down last night on ABC um it was moderated by uh David Mir and lindsy Davis I thought they were both pretty great pretty straightforward but as you know as we thought it was just a lot of listen I felt like with when it came to trump it was a lot of nonsense man babbling about migrants eating your pets and you know I felt like he still tap danced around abortion and I felt like Kamala was pretty much straightforward when asked questions accurate Rosenberg you didn't like how kamla started though you had uh some uh some issues with how she began just the just the beginning like the first question was basically out of the gate hey are we better off as a nation now than we were four years ago with the with the Biden Harris Administration and the first thing she said the first word out of her mouth was so which I didn't like she was like so Donald Trump and just kind of like change subjects and I was like I'd like you to lay out the ways that we are better because a lot of people don't see it and don't get it cuz yes prices are bad and there are things that are bad but there are a lot of things that need to be explained about what this Administration has done and I thought she fell into the Trap of worrying about him and not worrying about them but as time went on and she kind of like calmed down cuz also it was let's be honest guys that was a huge stage like y'all don't even remember none of us even remember the the Harris Pence debate from the last election like it does not resonate the vice presidential thing does not resonate like this moment and so she needed a few minutes and then I thought she settled in and I thought by the end she was just cruising like I she found her sweet spot she was really good on policy particularly when it got I thought to international issues and diplomacy thought she was really strong on Israel and Palestine thought she was really strong on Ukraine and Russia I I thought she got just better and better as it went on will that matter I don't know I mean the people who seem to like this guy they don't care what he says that he sounds like a child screaming for two hours they they don't care I mean if you went in the last night thinking that kamla was going to change people who are Ardent Trump supporters Minds you know so what do you I got a bridge to sell you yeah well said well what do you what do you think then was the best thing you could hope to get out of it seeing as you're not changing minds I think for kamla and you know people on that side was seeing her in that moment where you're dealing with someone who is a known liar uh unpredictable and and and uh and it's tough to have convers listen think of any relationship I'm sure there's somebody listening to us right now where you're trying to have a real conversation with someone who is a own liar and they're just lying and what you what you mean is someone's spouse right now so you're dealing with your spouse right you're you're in a relationship with someone who's a liar and you're like bro we have to do we have to have a real conversation right now like and they're just lying and but you still have to like put you can't just delve into an argument because you're going to play into their hands like there was moments last night where I thought you just wanted to go bro you're an idiot bro like shut up F I would have accepted you are an a-hole shut up I wouldn't have minded guys like one or two more times Well when they came back to her she started off by just saying I'm going to be honest I don't even understand what he was just saying anyways and continue I would not have minded that cuz or sorry everything he just said was patently false now but but by the way the moderators did a pretty good job checking in so she didn't really have to play that part but I also think part of it was her sticking to her plan which I think think she executed well because she baited him into talking about crowd sizes now that was the most cats and all this other stuff right when the r and then when he was claiming about executing babies I'm like that's not a thing and even the moderator was like sir that is it's not that's not true not true when right when she said the thing rallies people are leaving his rallies Natalie got so hyped she went oh she's going for the rallies here we go and a second later he's like no no no I got to respond about the rallies I got to talk about the Ries he take it he can't take it man but but like how do you so and we've talked about this for years guys how do you watch that and and US giggling you know we're giggling and laughing about things that everyone knows is true how do you vote for that for the highest executive in the country how do you put trust in an individual that can't control their own ego how do you put people are voting for people are voting for who they don't want know no no no I know that shie but I'm just I'm challenging people to actually critically think right now how do you actually walk in and say yes this person who gets baited into an argument about sizes of crowd rap at is someone that I want to be in charge like like we get it you don't like her Poli right you don't like her we get it that but how do you vote for that though because there two choices and we don't no you can you can you can a lay out B you can write in like there's other things you can do I true which some people proba so but like like no matter what you feel about her policy she was an adult speaking last night like if last night you would said to me one of these two people has to be the coach of a 5-year-old soccer team I would be like well that guy on the left should not be the coach of anyone's team like he should you you I wouldn't put him in charge of getting the orange peels like you can't say Sir get the sliced oranges that is a another child he that how could you accept that but and by the way how dare you bring up a coach the only coach we know is walls say Coach K coach Lombardi coach wall that's it
