deserve you all of us here today everybody in the chat everybody listening on audio today tomorrow a week a year from now cuz you want to capture the Vibes we deserved this it's so beautiful what like genuinely besides the dumbest thing I've ever seen in my entire life at the end of the game perfect game a perfect game oh yeah like the best season opener since I that I can remember in Arizona State history like this was incredible yeah from start to finish like literally literally [ __ ] right at the beginning yeah right at the beginning dude oh my gosh it was I I mean again like we'll get into the players we'll get into you know the drive of the game all of the fun stuff I I think for me there was a lot of anticipation going into this game right obviously a lot of people have a bad taste in their mouth about what Arizona State football did last season and just about Arizona State football and you get there in first and foremost the crowd did a phenomenal Job showing up tonight as they usually do in season openers but tonight it was from the jump sure Arizona State the defense which again if you've been listening to the PHX Sun Devil show we've been just absolutely hounding the fact that this defense looks improved Brian Ward a second year with this system for the sundevils you got a couple returners and you got some Playmakers on defense and the moment that it started it was like you said nearly Perfection yeah I listen there are so many players and individual like moments that we'll get into but from a widescale perspective like you said we've raved about this defense we've talked about this offense we even voiced certain concerns in what not and and what this game could hold and I'm happy to say we were both wrong with our score predictions we both thought would win for sure we both knew that ASU was the better team but we expected like some adjustment period I mean you always do right it's college football it's a new season especially and especially with this team with the amount of transfers on both sides of the ball you have a red shirt freshman quarterback you have so many new pieces on defense you have players on both side of the ball that haven't played in over a thousand days I mean you had so much going into this game that quite frankly could be given as an excuse to not start not start hot no you're absolutely right and now we're sitting here and not only did they start hot but they sustained it they continued it it wasn't just this momentum of seeing everybody and all the fans at the beginning of the game and the walk out and all of that and then it's a quarter two quarters in and you fumble around a little bit and you lose that momentum no they kept it till the very end yeah and that shows a the fact that they're all jelled together right and especially this defense we are going to Rave about this defense tonight but also fact that this team is just so much more talented than last season we are not talking about the same football team Anthony towry absolutely not absolutely not neither are the people in the chat how's the heat Sports I called it Sam levit is the next Taylor Kelly if not better Jagger in the chat hell of a game a lot of forks up in the chat LTC Lobo score again as well you've obviously got the wild cat still going on uh how Esports again U OFA looks terrible it's awesome uh Sharon you guys we have a good team let's go LTC also in there great to see all of you here fam there's so many of you in here right now everybody in here is having a good time we're all happy we appreciate all of you being here make sure you hit that like button make sure you hit that subscribe button this is literally like I could not have imagined this going better I said it I said it for the last two weeks Wyoming was the perfect week one opponent for this team because he had to take them seriously but you were clearly more talented than them clearly better than them and they showed that and that's what good teams do and like I'm not going to get ahead of myself and start talking about five six seven weeks into the season but talking about right now right now this team in this moment they showed us a glimpse of who they truly are and that is a complete 180 from last season 100% absolutely 100% look we'll get into the players but I want to start off with the coordinators I want to start off with Brian Ward and then Marcus Royo on the offensive side of the ball you saw last season uh just the the not how putrid the offense was at the start of the game uh you know last year against Southern Utah but it was slow it was methodical um and when it got stuck it got stuck and it was bad which ultimately led to Kenny Dillingham taking over the play calling at a certain point in the season and now you have Marcus laoya who the moment he stepped onto the field in Tempe The Vibes were different he gives the head coach energy which I think is is great to have that also with Kenny Dillingham this is a a guy that again is closer in age to these players than Bo Baldwin was at Iona State and you feel it you feel the energy that Marcus ooyo brings both on game day and then especially in practice in those two a Royo and Brian Ward the game plan for tonight was again it was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish and it wasn't just the starters right even in the third quarter when you started to see more rotational players in those guys understood what was being asked of them now if you go back to Arizona State performances in years past and you get to this point which in and of itself is a rare thing for Arizona State to dominate in this fashion then you put in the backups and then you start to see a little bit of a a trickle effect right and it's not just ASU that's just college football in general that's any sport right it's you're blowing a team out of the end of a basketball game in the NBA in college basketball and high school basketball you put the end of end of your bench in and then the score evens out a little bit but listen taking away the end of this game which by the way a lot of our backups did really really and I'm sure we'll get to that at the very end but the zyus pick six off the top perfect beautiful this team was a prepared team this team was somebody who knew exactly who they were playing exactly how to take advantage of that and the most important thing exactly what made them better yeah and they absolutely to the max maximized that and showed that almost every single possession even on the plays where things didn't go great things didn't go perfectly you were like oh I see what they were doing there oh there was a slight mistake you tweaked that whether it was a little bit of a Sam Lether overthrow or if it was Jordan Tyson dropping the ball in the end zone I mean these are negative things that can so easily be cleaned up that this team like you would maybe kind of expect a team in this position with this many moving parts and pieces to be a little bit just disorganized getting the getting their their mind bound getting their stuff together and feeling like hey maybe by the third or the fourth quarter they really hit their stride how many times you see again like this U OFA game we don't know the final score of it now but the first half it was very close and the second half U OFA open things up right how How likely would it have been for ASU to maybe just kind of stumble off the front and then pick it up at the end and end up winning by two scores three scores right no that this team I was right there right on the field when they were coming out for through the T tunnel walking out there was a different energy about this and and to your point that goes to these coordinators it goes to this head coach Kenny said and hisid conference earlier this week that he feels more involved on every side of the ball he feels more in control Marcus a Royo you mentioned it when we were up there watching the game in the Press Box you were like these are not the most complicated plays but they're being called at the most perfect time Welles in the most perfect ways and it it made life easy on your red shirt freshman quarterback Sam levit who had a phenomenal game yeah two or three plays aside I would say damn near perfect no you're absolutely right and you that's a that's a good point right so we were sitting in the Press Box and I believe it was the first offensive Drive in the third quarter and it was they were split they had two wide receivers to the right side of the set they had one on the left side they had Shaman matire uh kind of at the bottom right next to Josh Atkins at left tackle and as soon as the the the ball was snapped I believe it was a play action and the running back stayed in the block Shaman also stayed in the block and it was a very slow developing play it was welld designed but you understood that you needed extra protection so you had the tight end there you had the running back and it was be it was picked apart beautifully by levit Wyoming was sitting in his Z he waited Tyson came across the middle and it was a 20-yard completion and it was just executed flawlessly by Sam which again is a tough thing to do in your first career start at a new school with a new offensive coordinator and you have the lead and again like it was just methodical it was surgical insert any any word you want to use right there because it it was it was a Master Class by Marcus a Royo by Sam levit and I think my favorite part about this is you know you can look to Arizona and you could point out tedar Roa McMillan and he's a phenomenal athlete he's a phenomenal wide receiver he is that offense and you look and you watch this Arizona State game which I'll watch it again and you you go through and see the amount of players that contributed to this Arizona State offense which is is great now in week one but when you get to a week seven a week nine and you know knock on W you don't want to see anybody get hurt or you get to a point where there are opposing teams that are just game planning for a Jordan Tyson or for a Cameron scabo and you say you know what like everybody's bringing up in the chat we can go four running backs deep if we want to and that's without reli brown even playing 100% And also in the wide receiver room as well there is talk about Jake Smith lowkey might turn into wide receiver one from Danny in the chat but you also had good games from X as well uh like like you said Jordan Tyson had a good game he could have had a better game yeah as well melan sval had a very solid game had one really long play good in the return game as well this team we preached it for for months at this point is deep yeah right and maybe their top end Talent like Elijah Badger who didn't start for Florida today or BJ green who didn't start for Colorado this past week maybe some of their their their top topend talent from last season was gone right but how they filled out this room and especially how they filled out the room on the back end and this is a a coaching staff that they had a lot to work with yeah and and they had a lot of moving parts and those pieces especially on the back end were players that other teams had given up on yeah right or or players like Jake Smith and xaven Alford who hadn't played and Jake Smith's first catch was like the first one in almost two million minutes yeah right I did the math on that like seriously it's since December 5th 2020 that was the last time Jake Smith recorded a catch in a game absurd right and he looked good look I mean again Jake Smith for the majority of fall Camp was running with the twos which again and we tried to say it during the camp shows was that this isn't something that's like personal against Jake Smith this is more so you have so much depth at wide receiver and again you you may not have a tedar Roa McMillan on this team but you don't need a tedar Roa McMillan on this team based off of the way that this offense is is built right this is a team that you have Jordan Tyson as your number one wide receiver he only had four catches today right but he looked really good when he had the ball in his hands melquan stoval again a smaller undersized wide receiver by division one college football standards had a phenomenal outing today and you look at guys like Xavier gillery he got his touches Shaman matire he got his Touches at tight end like you had just a a boatload a full stable full of guys that were capable of just helping Sam levit move the ball down the field and that's exactly what you wanted to see in game one sure and even with guys like X he was getting open even when he didn't get the ball yeah right there there's so many options for this offense there's so many options for Sam levit and what's impressive to me about levit is that usually when there's not like that number one guy you see like a quarterback very much rely you know where you're going you kind of keep your eyes there or when you have a cam scaboo in the back field it's like okay Cam's here I'm gonna hand the ball off no there he knew what to do with the weapons that he had it's a testament to to so many people it's a testament to the talent around him right the depth in the wide receiver room and the running back room it's a testament to the coordinators as well especially Marcus Royal but also have to throw in Shan iguano out there as well and the running backs coach running backs looked incredible today on not just running but also catching as well lots of screen passes including that Kon Brown play that was electric right and it's it's a testament to Lev it but all throughout all of this I have said repeatedly especially this week the number one key to getting Lev in Rhythm to making sure the running backs could actually perform and the wide receivers can catch the ball was what I don't remember to be honest with you how dare we do a lot of shows it's the offensive line and the offensive line looked really solid today like really good even when Sam was pressured there was a hole for him to escape in for him to make his moves and trust me he made his moves but that offensive line played so good it was great it was great to see we'll get into the offensive line look we've got over a 100 people in here right now do us a solid hit that like Devils to just a buck 18 and then the turnovers here Arizona State forcing three turnovers two wyomings zero in time of possession here going in favor of Arizona State 37 minutes and change to Wyoming's 22 56 Eric for you out of all of these numbers which one stands out the most the score the score that's the score and you know what we were talking about it uh because we had to leave back here for the postgame show Midway through the third quarter right we're listening to the game on the drive back if that starting offense or even the second string offense stayed in they could have put up 60 something yeah if that first string defense stayed in there's no way they're scoring that BS touchdown at the end of the game God don't even get be don't even get be started but listen that final score is so indicative of an off season that we have all spent speculating and quite frankly for people like you and me being called crazy for thinking that this team was going to be good on either side of the ball yeah we've been called crazy we've been called nuts we've been called that we don't know what we're talking about no this is the worst team in the Big 12 this is Vindication and this isn't everything right there's still a lot more to this season there's a lot more for them to prove a lot more for them to be better for sure yeah you're 100% right but this game could not have gone any better outside of the BS touchdown listen you know what you want to get into that real quick you know what man yeah just just the weakest lamest thing I've ever seen my entire life you were down 48 to Z there is less than 30 seconds left in the game and you're going to call not one but two timeouts yeah and then celebrate when you score a touchdown celebrate it it's crazy and it's also like and this doesn't get talked about enough it's it's I mean it's Reckless it's dangerous right like your team is getting absolutely curb stomped 48 to7 and these guys are going through like again minor car accidents every single play sure and for the fact of the matter is you just don't want to give up a goose egg offensively you're going to call timeout so that you can go try and score touchdowns it's a pathetic absolutely pathetic uh just coaching performance from Wyoming uh and I mean to be honest with you again it's dangerous it's Reckless and if somebody got hurt right you're can attest on the drive over to the stadium we had college football playing in the car sure I watched TCU the other night that beat Stanford TCU looks like hot garbage okay horn frogs look absolutely cooked they barely got it done against a bunch of nerds living out in near San Jose okay and then I turn on the games today West Virginia got absolutely pummeled by Penn State and I get it it's Penn State offensively like they looked like garbage as well do people forget that the Houston Cougars play football in this conference it's insane I don't know if you watched them today but I did they look absolutely putrid and we got will in the chat LMFAO Houston is easily the worst team in the conference losing at home to UNLV by 20 that is the Marcus a Royo pack with and then Danny also says Houston looked like one of the worst teams I've ever seen the score didn't show up from the UNLV game but that was painful to watch and I also think like like you look at at Texas Tech as well our boy Jaylen Conor's had an incredible grab but against AB 52 to 51 against and the only reason that they lost is because AB Christian went for it at the end of the game and and I'll tell you this I'll tell you this right here right now this guy right here is an absolute sicko okay absolute sicko football but specifically also a college football junkie he knows what he's talking about I'm watching this ASU game again tomorrow oh dude I mean come on come on it's what you it's you have to right this is just such a good performance you have to absolutely pick it apart and I and I think that there's also like the reason why it's such an enjoyable watch is because it wasn't just specific moments it was all consistent and Chad Johnson I know he was asking for a shout out earlier thank you Chad they couldn't contain the offense they also got in their own way and part of that is because they were scared yeah they were scared a bunch of bums I mean serious like seriously like let's let's just call it what it is they are a bunch of bums like and again it is what it is this was one team way better than the other team without a doubt like that that's what this game was and you look at the stats it it shows it in every F of the game without the stats the it test 5 seconds into the game 30 minutes into the game two hours into the game and there was I get it Wyoming was out their best two running backs I don't care that does not make a 39 Point difference no it just does you're on your best two running backs for sure but at the same time ASU dominated like you were right like ASU took advantage and absolutely crushed you like you had no idea what you were doing out there yeah at all and Shout Out SP one of our other die hards in the chat was us all week like this Wyoming TEAM stands no chance like they're not good they're not good and they weren't good and ASU showed improved why they are not only a big 12 team but why they are a better team and the thing that has gotten in asu's way for a long time was ASU yeah was themselves right and especially in the Herm Edwards era they were so undisciplined there was penalties every five seconds and it was so like just rewarding and gratifying to see another team do that right and not only do that and it's not like ASU just won because of the penalties or because Wyoming didn't know what they were doing no they dominated them they ran rampant over them it is so many people in the chat are saying this was like such an incredible start to the season and to me man like we were talking about it this we expected a win yeah we did we both predicted wins this this this is 10 times better than what I expected to be happening right here right now no absolutely and look sh buus in the chat had said it a little bit earlier told y'all all months ago no one listens to us tow Tre well guess what man they're gonna they're gonna start they're gonna absolutely start because this is this is again the first game of the season you got so many opportunities to prove haters and doubters wrong and you could do it on both sides of the ball and that's where I want to take it I want to take it to bottle service our very first bottle service of the Season look I hate giving it to just a group but you can't deny how good that ASU defense was so they're getting bottle service the entire unit is getting bottle service two defensive touchdowns zyrus Fu with an opening pick six and then of course you had Justin Watley with a scoop in score two ints zyrus Fu and kesan Elliott both getting their hands on the football tonight my Lord kesan looks so good yeah he looks so good right off the bat but what else have I been saying somebody to watch on this defense zyrus fiau y he's going to be an absolute Monster by the way speaking of monsters can we put that graphic back back up on the screen really quick let me just indulge me for a second you look really tall on this graphic you look really tall I mean you're as tall as Shane defb I mean the streets are saying that I've hit my I've hit my grow Kyle can you can you confirm to tree has it a gross bird he's like 6162 yeah yeah yeah 6162 I appreciate you K app okay sorry we could take that off now listen I remember talking to you about giving bottle service to maybe this ASU defense yeah and it was before the game we were talking about oh we get it to a unit or whatever and you were like I just don't like giving it to to unit and I don't but it's hard to deny right and then we we got back here and it just kind of took a second and we were just like it has to be yeah and you know what I think Sam Lev had a case cam scabo had a case the running entire running back room the offensive line had cases as well we'll get into all of them but but this defense it's also gratifying to to see something in practice come to reality and I know you can speak on this because you were at a lot more practices than I were but even in the short time I was there it was almost shocking how well this defense Blended and gelled together yeah and got takeaways in the first five minutes they got two takeaways that was like over 20% of what they got last season combined no you're 100% right and you look again in all three levels of this defense that defensive line was absolutely phenomenal against yes I know a Wyoming team that yes they run the football they were without their top two running backs but the defensive line took care of that Wyoming offensive line they did it in getting pressures this is a team that had five tfls three sacks as a unit shout out cavon Thunderbird he got a sack Elijah O'Neal his sack came on a big O'Neal had thir great game pass breakup as well and then Clayton Smith Clayton Smith as well we talked about the two ints um and then you had your pass breakups take away that last Drive of the game of course from Wyoming that was just pathetic but overall like a defensive performance the the dline played phenomenal people in the chat talking about the linebacker zyrus fiau um of course kesan Elliott he had himself a phenomenal game Kavon Thunderbird was really excited to see him and then you take it even a level further the defensive backs who we thought were going to be very very good a unit improved both on the perimeter and on the very back end of this defense with xaven Alford Shamari Simmons miles Rouser he played a a lot tonight Shamar like all these guys really Montana Warren Cole Martin they all saw the field tonight Rouser had a really good game Rouser made some really big plays there was one play where if he was a little bit more on it he could have gotten a pick but that ball was also a duck thrown directly into the ground so can't really blame him on that he was there he had some really big hits some really big plays lat Terence Welch also had some fantastic pass breakups as well let's just okay let me put this all into perspective let me read you off the leading uh receiver rusher and passer as far as yards go for this Wyoming offense for this Wyoming off Okay evan saota 6 for 15 42 yards yeah not good DJ Jones 17 attempts 43 yards that's 2.5 per attempt mind you and receiving Chris Durr sorry no sorry Tyler King had 23 yards on one catch Chris dur caught the most passes with three but a total of 16 yards okay your leading receiver had 23 yards your leading rusher had 43 yards and your leading passer had 42 yards they were just bad that's insane I don't care who you're playing your quarterback had 42 yards yeah no it wasn't good it it wasn't good by any means for Wyoming and I mean again that is not so much that Wyoming is a bad bad football team because I don't think they're a bad football team they were preseason preseason Poll for Mount West is the sixth best team in that conference right so middle of the pack there but this Arizona State Defense came to play today and it's it's again something that we've been saying for a long time I said it on this podcast I believe last week that I think this defense can be a top four defense in the Big 12 and people in this office were laughing at me people in this offense were calling me crazy and I get it's just Wyoming but when you have a performance like tonight everybody else's ears in the Big 12 they perk up yeah they see what Arizona state is doing and a lot of people in the chat talking about the transfers and it wasn't just the transfers on defense that played a phenomenal game but let's give Sam L is flowers right DN now because Sam levit played nearly a Flawless game and I say nearly a Flawless game because we were talking about in the car a couple passes he would like to have back the issue that we saw at times throughout Camp was there's the occasional overthrow we saw that on a couple passes tonight specifically to a guy like Jordan Tyson yeah that'll come as chemistry starts to continue to build for those two guys but overall you look what Sam Lev did through the air 14 to 22 258 two touchdowns no ints which is again huge for him huge for Kenny Dillingham that's something that they've been harping on all of Camp since he got here and then s l eight carries 47 yards on the ground uh and part of that gets taken away he had more rushing yards than that but because he got sacked obviously that gets taken away um he proved to be a a really really talented and even better athletic quarterback than I think a lot of people uh initially thought I'm not uncomfortable saying that he's a dual threat quarterback yeah not not to the point where you're going to have so many designed plays for him but every time he broke down the field he made a play he made somebody Miss he's fast he's genuinely fast and we talked about this like all of our keys going into this game was this defense is fantastic you need to see the offensive line and Sam levit has every single tool in his toolbox to be a great quarterback yeah but it's does he put it together and I have absolutely no problem with the fact that he made some mistake and the fact that he has something to clean up in fact it gets me a little bit excited a lot of excited because because when he cleans that up that is not only a testament to him but a testament to Kenny and we will talk about this this week yeah about what Kenny does with quarterbacks we'll get deeper into it but today you saw somebody who was in control yeah you saw somebody who was able to throw a downfield now he had a few over throws but he had a lot of other passes on the move across body on the money he was never out of control he was never uncomfortable he scrambled he was able to pick up first downs he used his body like he was exactly what you want out of your red shirt freshman quarterback with again red shirt freshman again you don't have an offense that's that's benefiting from continuity anywhere yeah your offensive line played great but they don't have the continuity right you have the wide receiver room they played great they don't have the Contin it your running back room is the most with the continuity because of J Carlos Brooks who looked great and of course cam scabo but then you also mix in you know like like listen what Sam Lev did is incredibly impressive given any circumstances and it should absolutely get you excited for what he can do in weeks to come yeah that's it no you're 100% right and look there were people in the chat talking about Lev having as much rushing yards as cam scaboo again I hate the way in college football that they take away rushing yards for a quarterback if if they get sacked if if you do that right you if you give his rushing yards back from the two times he got sacked he actually was Arizona State's leading rusher tonight with 61 rushing yards on the ground which would have been more than scat would have been more than De Carlos Brooks uh and really anybody else in the back field so again there there are people in the chat talking about they love his arm strength they they love his athleticism and I think that's all great and he is he's just getting started you're just scratching the surface to see what he can be because this is his first career start yeah that's so crazy now the one thing Sam I'm talking to you now please please learn to slide yeah please learn to slide because the the taking hits and I get your fighting for a yard that's not going to slide against some of these big 12 linebackers it's just not the big 12 safeties they're going to come downhill and they're going to be a little bit bigger they're going to be a little bit stronger they're going to be a little bit faster than what you're seeing in noncon against Wyoming and then eventually a Texas state so I I'll leave it at that overall Sam levit an absolutely phenomenal performance uh to kick off this 2024 college football season yeah he's got to re in his arm power he's got to learn how to slide that's it I'm good with that short and medium passes he was absolutely on the money methodical uh he he was good in reading the defense handing the ball off he was good moving on his own right and he never looked uncomfortable yeah never never never I'm here for it I'm absolutely here you you genuinely like sure if you wanted a perfect performance from your red shirt freshman quarterback in week one you could have asked for more other than that there's nothing else you could have asked for out of this guy no nothing no well let let's keep moving it uh on W with the Arizona State offense I want to get to the running back room because the running back room is again we talked you know as some of the best position groups on this team we've talked about the safeties and then offensively we always talk about the running back room just because of how many guys we think can contribute and tonight you saw that just how many guys can contribute cam scabo had 11 carries D Carlos Brooks made the most of his six carries Jason Brown junor he had four carries kaon Brown had six carries alt mccal had seven carries hell you had Jeff Sims in the game he got three carries Jake Smith got a carry yeah it's it's everything we thought it was going to be in in in effort tonight I don't want to read too far into that running back depth because you don't know what the rotation looks like a when relique Brown gets back and how often they rotated these guys simply because of what the score was but I think even if you take guys that had five plus carries we're talking about mcll kaon Brown D Carlos Brooks and cam scabo that's four guys that are touching the ball at least five times all of which you're very very comfortable with kaon brown six carries 25 yards he averaged four carries a tote alt mcal I think just needs to get a little bit more comfortable in this offense seven carries 17 yards so only 2.4 a pop DLo six carries 47 yards a touchdown he was averaging 7.8 yards a carry and one thing I'll say about to Carlos Brooks is and this is something as somebody that has talked to D Carlos that I don't even think I fully understood was just how great of a running back he is in terms of Ball Carrier Vision um he can read a an offensive line and make his cut and then he has a burst which I think people forgot about and then of course I mean what what can you say about scat right like this guy just does everything a lot I mean here's the thing SC 11 attempts 49 yards a touchdown longest run of nine if you saw him in the game he he played above that stat line yeah but if this was the ASU team of last year they would have had to rely on him so much more he would have had 18 carries sure AB absolutely and you know what man like I probably overrated the amount of carries that he was going to get this season just based off of what happened last season yeah there's probably going to be this like system where they kind of ramp him up and as you get later in the season he's probably going to get more more carries than he did this week but if you just talk about the onew punch of Cam scabo into Carlos Brooks what an incredible one-w running back punch maybe the best in the Big 12 like as far as different running types and different running stles people going I know I know I know I think I think there's a case that this is the deepest room that this is the deepest running back room of the Big 12 from one to what five yeah one to five cam D Carlos Tyson Jason Alton mcal and reli brown six yeah you got a lot of guys you you have six guys that you can put out there on any play and they could actually do something for you it's not just like taking a risk right d Carlos's first touch of the season was a touchdown and this is somebody that if he stays healthy is absolutely perfect yeah next to cam scaboo I think Shane thinks I'm insane yeah I think Shane got maybe the top two is a little bit nut but I think one I don't think you find another room that has another running back room that has six guys that can do what this running back agre that's what I'll put my put my flag on okay I can live with that I can absolutely live with that uh and I believe it was D brem earlier in the chat said and this is the best part right is here's the thing guys we were running a very vanilla Playbook as well we haven't even seen what this offense can be and Marcus aoo he was asked about that earlier in the week right just like how much do you have to open up the Playbook how much do you want to in a first game um and he said you're just going to make sure that have enough to execute and go out and win if you have to open up the Playbook heavily to go out and win then that's what they're going to do they didn't have to do that tonight from start to finish it was absolutely dominant yes the defense did what it did quarterback played well you had a stable of running backs do their thing and then let's get into the offensive line the offensive line was a question mark going into the season you knew you had Leaf outu at Center and he was going to be your staple of this offensive line like he was last year you had Ben Coleman at left guard he played a great game and then really everywhere else on the offensive line was a little bit of a well this could go either way right so we saw EMT Bley for the majority of fall Camp be the starting left tackle Josh Atkins he rolled out there tonight he had himself a phenomenal game he's a transfer on the right side of the offensive line at Right Guard you had Kate Briggs Kate Briggs starting at Right Guard what that be because he was going to be the starter um or simply because sha KN was out and is going to be out for a couple weeks due to injury he had himself a solid game as well and then at right tackle you have Mad Max who again he played a pretty solid game up front Arizona state had their way whether they wanted to run the football averaging 4.9 yards per carry which you run the ball three plays in a row you got yourself a first down which you'll take any day of the week and then offensively Sam Lev only got sacked two times and in reality one of those was he was just probably hanging on to the football trying to make a play for too long um so overall it was just it was great like it was absolutely overall phenomenal performance from an Arizona State offense and defense that I tell you what nobody in the Big 12 thought was going to happen no nobody in the Big 12 thought this team was going to be good in any form or fashion if you look at cam scabo betting lines for this game he was wildly disrespected yeah so this offensive line this is exactly what you wanted to see from them absolutely and I need you needed no you did and honestly like there was even some there was some pressure on them not like outside of just going into this game performing but on the coaching staff as far as they shook some things up yeah within a week a week and a half Atkins moving tackle right of this game starting but listen I will never doubt them and I said this at the time I'm like listen you can maybe look at this one way but the other way is this was just the right decision and they're making it now instead of reactionary right and this offensive line looked cohesive shout out to Saga like getting these guys together getting them to play together and they look talented and I I get it this is a Wyoming team that is leaving some to be desired and I'm sure that some people are just going to talk about oh but what about who you played or whatever listen they dominated they they they dominated football man they dominated you beat who's in front of you and and and chanes in the chat saying when's the last time the opener was this encouraging we were trying to talk about that earlier I don't know I mean as far as like individual performances Jaden Daniel debut against Kent State was extremely encouraging but as far as overall scor 48 points in that game overall team performance on both sides of the ball after a season like last season I don't know there's nothing that comes to my mind and I'm sure there's some ASU fans that either listening to this or in the chat that that know like we've been practicing we played hard but what I was proud of was We Grew From A playing smart you know there was a few times that we had personal fouls towards us from the opponent and our guys didn't respond and last year we would have lost our minds and uh for us to be able to just lock back in and go make the next play continue to make the next play is a lot of growth for the football team uh but that's probably that's probably the number one thing and then the fact that uh we dominated the line of scrimmage you know that team is a team that runs the football and stops the run and they've been like that for six years and the fact that we went out there and ran the ball for 240 yards and I think we outrushed him by 2011 or something like that a little bit over 200 yards in the football game uh there is no chance on Earth we could have even come close to doing that last year so let's test with how those guys are practicing improvement improvement right what did Kenny say last year it's like bamboo and I know at this point it's it's run dry it's cliche whatever you want to say about the analogy but it really is bamboo and this is a team that last year had to go through the weeds had to go through the gross losses the bad losses the injuries the the the pick sixes the the just tough dogf fight games that you didn't come out on top and tonight was the they they reaped the rewards of everything that they had put in in in the coaching staff going out and getting guys re retaining guys the summer workouts the spring workouts the winter workouts the fall Camp pushing through to now mhm and coming out from literally the opening kickoff in dominating the opponent they improved on so many different sides of the ball a turnovers 180 difference right penalties fantastic cleaned up offensive line completely different quarterback play let's be honest completely different yeah listen I know that southern Utah game was weird yeah you know it was fun being out there with the team and seeing the atmosphere um felt like I played pretty well you know always going to be certain things you want back um overall happy about the win levit show today yeah do we have Sam levit right there was that Sam that was Sam going right now that's Sam all right Sam Kyle Kyle was eager Kyle Kyle was a little eager to get to Sam levit I I want to hear Sam I want to hear Sam on the debut can can let Sam Le had to say yeah you know it was fun being out there with the team and seeing the atmosphere um felt like I played pretty well you know always going to be certain things you want back um overall happy about the win short sweep such a quarterback that I was literally thinking the same thing dude I was thinking the same thing this guy let me get just like basic and like surface level this guy exudes quarterback oh yeah this dude is a quarterback through and through and there are lots of guys who exude quarterback who just aren't good uh so far what we've seen from Sam levit is the opposite yeah right I I'm not going to go out there and call him a Heisman I'm not going to go out there and call him the best quarterback of the Big 12 or anything like that but he showed you enough to be excited and confident in what's going on and you don't want him to go out there and be like you know I did great I did amazing I did awesome I'm perfect I did good did good you know I did good I'm happy with what I did but let's move on and let's move forward yeah no I mean you're GNA enjoy this win for less than 24 hours and then you're on the Mississippi State that's just kind of how it goes look we heard from Kenny Dillingham we heard from Sam levit let's hear from Quattro himself team you guys seen it I seen it for myself feel more comfortable on the sidelines um I got taken out eight minutes left in the third quarter that's a good feeling um we we push each other leaders leaders have pushed each other um and everyone's been working starting to pay off did you learn something about the team tonight um I knew a lot about the team just I mean coming out of Cam te it was the biggest I think the biggest thing uh we all seen it we all understood how close we were we knew who we were fighting with and for um and I mean yeah it's definitely a different change and it means a lot to me to be able to see that and that I'm a part of something like that you know I I think what's kind of being lost with Cam everybody talks about how good he is everybody talks about how the fact that you know he could be a Sunday guy uh he's slimmed down he's changed his running style you're looking at somebody who is quite frankly fighting for a career at the next level fighting to get drafted fighting to be somebody who makes this their full-on professional career right and there are some people who would look at his stat line in his position and be upset who would be like 11 attempts for 49 yards in a touchdown that's not that's not what I want to be that's not that's not what it's the cam scaboo show right but what he say I'm so happy that as a team we were able to show people and be better and I I think that this entire team is built with people like cam scabo but when you have the talent that He has and I know he's going to have games where he's going to be relied upon a lot more yeah but you can look back and just be satisfied with how amazing everybody else performed too when you are the best player on offense maybe the best player on the team that's a special type of Personality a special type of person to have and it's really great when you have a running back room that's maybe the deepest in the Big 12 no you're 100% right you're 100% right cam wants to win right that's why he came back cam wants to win he could have got a bag somewhere um just just like some of the other players that left and you know sometimes the grass isn't always greener and I I know Scott is happy that he's in Arizona State sevil um but look we've been going for over 70 minutes hit the like come on it's you know it's 12:20 lights are starting to dim here so do you know you know what time it is buddy I know what time it is take us home Kyle do
