tonight on the America's Kmart football report the calendar says we're Midway through the year but the Labor Day weekend and the beginning of September always feels like a new beginning in many ways 2024 transformed by the Arkansas learns act that dramatically changed school choice rules and open the door for widespread transfers a number of coaches have transferred as well this offseason brought 48 coaching changes around the state well ready or not it's time to get started the America's Carmart football report Starts Now now the Arkansas Activities Association calls this week zero I'll never get used to that we'll just call this the opening week of the season and it should be Sensational we'll go into the year keeping an eye on defending 7A champ fville 6A King Greenwood with perhaps the best quarterback in the state in Kane Archer and two-time defending 5A champ Little Rock Parkview which just has it rolling under Brad baling I'm joined by it's not an exaggeration to say the lost in the semi-finals now four consecutive Seasons at four is Benton Ville then palaski Academy moving up from class 6A making its debut in 7A at number five cabin is sixth in Bentonville West Little Rock Christian another one moving up from class 6A at number eight then Rogers at nine and North Little Rock which had 11 starters transfer in the off season is number 10 all right the game of the week on hootens.com for class 7A is the salt Bowl in War Memorial Stadium it's number two Bryant versus Benton the number two team in class 6A hootens.com is picking Bryant Barry will tell us why there number one fville should have an easy time at cabitt Bentonville West will welcome the number one team in class 68 Greenwood Greenwood is expected to take that one Rogers is a road favorite at north of the rock hon.com think Springdale Harbor will be an underdog welcoming Broken Arrow Oklahoma in forsmith Northside is playing host to cross town rival for Smith Southside out of class 6A this the Battle of Rogers Avenue that sometimes takes place at the end of the year hootens.com is picking Southside there Springdale is the favorite at home over Little Rock Christian and Rogers Heritage playing at home against syum Springs of class 6A is an underdog Doug Lockridge taking over at syum Springs should pick up the victory all right Barry that's class 7A what do you like in that group well David let's hit on the salt B Bryant returned starters at 16 positions after losing to bville in the semi-finals last season but this bitten team is loaded eight starters back on offense seven out of Class 5A in games involving teams from the 6A West Van Buren traveling to Alma another Class 5A team hon.com likes the alma Aires Mountain Home is a home favorite over West Plains of Missouri third ranked Shiloh Christian at home against a 5A team Farmington and hon.com likes the Saints to open up with a victory there Lake Hamilton is a road Underdog against another 5A team hot springs lakeside in a rivalry matchup Russellville is a road favorite at Marlton another class 518 all right Barry tell us about some of the 6A highlights this week well David let's start in that battle of I40 that you mentioned Russellville at morlon Russellville has won 13 of the past 17 meetings in the series last year it was about a dozen points looking up in Mountain Home this is the Steve Ary Bowl Mountain Holmes coach was the coach at West Plains Missouri took over a win program in 2012 by the time he left in 2018 his team had won 12 games the big one you hit on Maran at Win w leads the
