Crimson Desert - 50 Minute Exclusive Gameplay & My First Impressions

what is going on Jack offs this is jackae and Christmas has came early the Crimson desert just released a 50 minute exclusive gameplay video uh honest to God when the first gameplay video showed at 2020 at the game awards I think every everybody and their grandma was immediately drawn to this game just based on the scope of the game like it's it's like Red Dead Redemption meets Dogma means Monster Hunter meets Assassin's Creed Shadow of the Colossus Skyrim Witcher and it's as if they all had an orgy uh so we really don't know what this game is but it seems to embody the best of what every one of those little games have to offer so for those that don't know Crimson desert is an upcoming open world single player RPG experience it's developed by the creators of the hugely popular mmor RPG Black Desert online so it was initially delayed in 2021 the the game has now gained momentum and is targeting for a release date of Q2 of 2025 and the delay appears to be quite beneficial uh as the early gameplay footage and teasers suggests that this extra development has paid off so players can expect an open World Dynamic combat you know epic boss battles and breathtaking environments as you explore their medieval fantasy continent of pywell uh so again the release window will be around second quarter of 2025 so potentially April June or July but it hasn't been actually confirmed on a release date it will be available on PC PS5 Xbox series X and Xbox series s so from what we've gathered this was supposed to be a prequel to Black Desert online and they just involved it into its own distinct story within the same universe so it's set in a medieval fantasy again of pywell it follows a mercenary by the name of Cliff McDuff uh who's grappling with some leadership challenges and haunting memories it seems that the narrative involves the struggles of a you know continent that's divided because of a uh the king of deenis the unifier of lands has went into a coma so get cozy get comfortable as we will now be watching this gameplay exclusive trailer and you'll get a sense of uh well my uh my first impressions the continent of pywell pwell a land soaked in blood okay he's got the Irish accent whose history is written in Warfare here unfolds a decisive battle between the grey Ms who fight for peace are bears who seek the Shad it's always a damn black bear I have to ruin everything okay who do you fight for well clearly you fight for the frayman okay let's take a look okay well the developer clearly said we want some particles yes I think we should have some particles looks very flashy music is bumping oh he just got stabbed our ogre boy Beast bonga oh he got some Jon Snow looking character look I guess that's the protagonist I guess that's Cliff I'll meet you there it won't peace I hope oh absolutely punted so initial Impressions I mean combat feels weighty um seems like there's going to be a lot of uh you know different skills that you can invest in I hope the [ __ ] that you can get a two two-handed big dick sword uh and then that's not always just a shield all right later nerd I love the physics it's it's definitely got the Dragon's Dogma type of uh feeling here with already more uh more variety of enemy types already just off the first minute or so seems like a very already you know introducing you a lot of interesting characters here or unique characters diverse as we should say come here you SL FX get your fat fingers off me you perver you f little [ __ ] um the target system you know will need some Polish it's it's uh it's uncertain kind of who you're focusing with and the the D the change of your enemies can be a little more fluid again this is early early gameplay I mean the game almost looks complete to be honest and they've got you know a year or so to polish things up looking great so far you're all that's left must be lonely M should have taken our when you had the chance look at yourselves peace what good is that if you're all [ __ ] dead my comrat died for a noble cause I'll tell you what's Noble wine wealth and women hey amen shall have all three damn all right we got some great voice acting here does well for the setting I love the blowback the physics looks so sick I love how everybody's just a [ __ ] rag doll UI obviously needs polish the particles definitely make it more of a fantasy type right like more of like a final fantasy I mean it's running smooth as [ __ ] oh no how [ __ ] dare you you bastards tell me where it is no never I guess they're looking for something never is a strong sense oh [ __ ] I find never are quite malleable Under Pressure you will never know oh wrong answer better look to the next gray [Music] man no how's he still standing give Jen my regards damn all right not the ending we anticipated the wantt has begun the hunt yeah call back to Witcher okay really good uh oh I'm assuming this is just a different part of the the story ooh [Music] wow oh key items skills horses quests inventory yeah UI obviously is going to be done redone I mean this is just a a placeholder for sure map okay not much we can see Alchemist all right we'll see how what the scale of that is the go [Music] hey I'm going to get you I mean the world looks alive I mean just this little farm town looks bustling good variety type of En U of of NPCs you believe it B's house was complet great artistic style even took the horns off his music was was nice and got you in I mean I'm sure that you can pretty much go anywhere that you see seems like there's a tower off in the top right oh I mean I'm sure like based on the inventory we can like hunt different horses and in the wild and tame them and they have their own little stats and you can probably equip Saddles and things of that note [Music] NPCs are like properly placed like a great variety it seems like it does seem like the world is bustling you know guys fixing a bridge all the water on the bridge there just right on the the puddle there very nice detail hearing the people talk and the sounds and the birds and the dogs barking okay it seems like there's a castle gu it isn't a small farm [Music] W definitely get that immersion taxes if it's only on people like tending their crops and they're even like bent in different positions enough leave them as a lesson for others guys with an ax out of the way you the chimney in the fire a lot of very I mean it it's masterfully [Music] done the question is is like how much you know how many NPCs can you really engage with you know shops and vendor oh that's a big ass Bubba he big yeah he he he don't want to [ __ ] with that guy guy well there's even more people with sword raging yeah it's always nice when the environment like takes takes notice of you but maybe not as I'll be maybe not as overly excessive as the new Assassin's Creed Samurai game was where they were all bowing to the samurai you know you know you know what obviously you don't want every NPC to to to make some kind of comment on you but again anytime you do like a quest or an accomplishment and you come back to town and that accomplishment affects the environment around you just like builds to immersion yeah out of the way [ __ ] those footsteps definitely need to be worked on I can I can see how that would definitely get annoying so definitely feedback there a an attire a banquet attire oh [ __ ] guy suited up for the ball open the gate uhhuh yeah their heads turned you know they notice you Jesus those are some big us seems like there's going to be a lot of different Clans and I'm curious if you get to like choose your side and feel like a w and how that would shape the story that's right their tenacity is how they seems like your Shield's marked with the same type of blue oh wait H seems like a permit no clue where he got it we don't look like the troublemaking type right he can pass then I'm to go ah so I guess equipping that inside that banquet allowed access to this area so [ __ ] you can be why not hit man as well just add to the list of games and it appears that the impenetrable shield may come into Alchemist we're not really sure what brought us here it's a famed alchemist that we're trying to seek out how we got to this point from getting our [ __ ] throat slit how he's still alive yet to be determined seems like the map doesn't entirely tell you where to go as everything seems clouded again UI could definitely use some work especially with how the health bar is displayed I should look around I'm I'm more of a it's hard to determine right like how low that Health would be at times especially during combat so a horizontal bar it tends to be more visually oh what's this oh [ __ ] this is some [ __ ] Assassin's Creed [ __ ] now oh wow okay it's like some dimensional portal I hope they don't get too [ __ ] sci-fi with this [ __ ] you know like Assassin's Creed not my vibe I like to be kind of maintain in this setting that I'm in not you know we'll see we'll see I it really depends on execution but I'm hoping it's not some oh damn so The Alchemist essentially has is this the place written on the invitation oh look there's like a island up there it seems almost like a Legend of Zelda right where you can like explore the there's going to be is like yeah you can see the island all the way to the right as well okay so there's going to be some type of Island exploration above hopefully that doesn't get too repetitive right the islands in terms of just their like biomes and how they look yet to be [Music] seen obviously this looks can see every town in the distance Canyons uh and ooh big [ __ ] Mountain so nice to see some variety in the biomes a lot of it does appear to be just kind of a kind of foresty farm area though the the the canyon area didn't seem as prominent of course the the Mountain Area will have all the the snow I mean it's gorgeous it's [ __ ] gorgeous oh and he just the protagonist doesn't seem very surprised that he's doing all this [ __ ] like dude I would be freaking out if I had some [ __ ] black crow type [ __ ] Cape that makes me fly now or Glide he doesn't seem surprised at all the guy that the guy next to him didn't seem [ __ ] surprised at all that someone was gliding in I mean yeah just a normal day in herand just another flying [ __ ] walking R let's get that RP in there baby it seems as if he can't curious how you can interact with the Nobles there and see what they would say swinging fools are running about by the day now of course there's not much you can say from a distance of that height when we flew hopefully they add like a lot of set pieces you know what I mean like very very interesting architecture that looks different from the rest right cuz I can see how if they kind of replicate loses like your these type of farm areas you know that how it can look repetitive oh there looks like a really big set piece that Tower there or that pointy Rock oh there's some [ __ ] all Orcs and unicorns and [ __ ] unicorn men I think yeah this is the same area her man so yeah so of course it's going to have the same kind of white Cobble Stone cuz it's the same area as as we just went in so yeah hopefully they add some variety here and not kind of oversaturate the world with the same type of green color you know ah yeah buddy some food oh that looks like a quest there in the bottom left marker when it's cloudy again the UI would need some work Cliff thought I'd never see you again you're alive but your leg I'm just glad I'm still breathing that's right what want his armor too refuse my challenge I hope that yeah different armor pieces obviously that essential so it's true gray Me Maybe collect herbs and stuff in the world and dye them D I've heard the lengths you'll go for the sake of your mission he does look good in Black you he was always my color radiant fragments reference yeah all right I'll shut up is that right what's it to you oh oh M parry and [ __ ] I wonder how like what the skills gives you I mean this is probably early in the game for me yeah so that the targeting has to be a little bit adjusted in terms of how the character moves just a little bit make it more fluid the particles it's hard to discern the effectiveness of what's happening because of them oh broke his [Applause] back like it's hard to somewhat like because of the particles it's hard to somewhat tograph what's going on right and like it kind of detracts I don't know they just have to Rel wait SP swordsman is a maybe reduce some of the particles and more focused on like the blood you know blood have particles and that would be better to see is home to and maybe for like only a huge special abilities have have the particles and stuff but not like over saturate it right be some feedback just a warning to a worthy opponent I'll keep that in mind all the crowd is yeah the crowds all oh now they're dispersing incredible you really are the esteemed game like how much you can climb and how assassin's creedy this is that's what's better like the movement of the character is so important for these games and to me Assassin's Creed always felt clunky the environment stol looks gorgeous though obviously like we have I mean this is one day nothing of the game so we can't really make that determination now we we've seen one area and then this extended Farmland as I we seem to be Grace Forest now poor man's house I was quickly enamored by a stone at his side I think they're going to do really well with that point though I think it's going to a lot ofy of set pieces landmarks that type of thing like enrich with history you know what I mean like architecture and Broken Bridges or statues of Gods like something where the environment can tell the story of the world Solomon must be punishing me for my greed well you're on your own from here this is all the instruction I received well then o I want to see that yourself I want to see like the uh looks so gorgeous rescue they do have that type of Matrix C you know type of you know the futuristic Assassin's Creed cubes and [ __ ] on the grey man's head oh it seems like everybody's hunting you it'd be nice to see some of the you just the menu of the equipment and stuff I'm like I'm really curious on how the progression system works how you level the skills equipment you can wear any passive bonuses or talents right talismans things of that note [ __ ] ask see if there's like a lot of build variety would be obviously really nice we were setting off to find you spells in the game the branch Masters put a generous bounty on your head one whole gold piece that's it seems a bit low noow you cheeky [ __ ] oh [ __ ] you can grapple people okay whoa there you go how how he dead from that seems there some guys like standing and just watching it right that's going to have to be like you know reworked right a lot of guys in the back kind of just stand and don't do anything unless you so it's almost like just like one-on-one fighting most of the time so maybe more enemy aggression would be good and again I'm not trying to bash the game by any means I mean I'm B I'm going to buy the [ __ ] game I 100% am going to enjoy it and buy it these are just feedback like little [ __ ] tidbits of feedback right take it or leave it but yeah seeing more blood instead of the particles would be good je [ __ ] punted bro like a football and more identific like that should kill him right like how much HP do these guys have unless the point is not to actually kill them then you should like fist fight right for for enemies that you're not planning to kill disarming them and [ __ ] would be sick like getting rid of their Shields having some stagger breaking their stagger I love stagger mechanic in any game I obviously Souls games right and and and like Wukong oh my Lord Stone Cold Steve Austin stunner yeah the particles can like kind of distract what is going on in the combat and of harms of visibility they they they're on their knees anybody else Mercy Mercy please these men have no sense of hospitality I beg forgiveness on their behalf their regression St stems from a world in turmoil H think bad enough the other way around an insightful sentiment I wish that it were otherwise perhaps it can be do you remember when we last another point of feedback like having the ogres and Orcs and [ __ ] had different kind of voices instead of this like British you saw no value in the proposition then we never got that far but you can see it can't you the gold you having a stroke I mean obviously earlier gameplay footage you know this has been said multiple times in multiple comments but they do have balls to release a 50 minutes of gameplay prior to the game being you know remotely done I'm sure obviously it's going to build hype obviously it showcases the confidence developers I mean they've got money from Black Desert online and think it over if it sweetens the deal I've never played in so very uh uh you know curious what that world is like but obviously a lot of people love that that that MMO structuring in our Guild so you know you can have confidence standing behind the developers I'll take that has a the only you know the only thing is can they execute on a a big scope where there's all these mechanics and you know ooh sword oh did that oh you seem to have like a lantern as well oh bow and arrow oh sweet I I do like how the camera pans and [ __ ] depending on the scenario ooh very uh-oh what's happening here oh damn it's like hello did you equip this sword a bit more polish right in terms of like how you receive damage right the player feedback from that it looks I mean like what we have is sick it looks very fun and I'm sure the skills oh it's almost like a Witcher [ __ ] type music oh my God I guy we got [ __ ] yeah we've got oh there's like a speed reticle here again hard to see what is going on by your actions I mean it's not but you know what I mean it's it's almost as if like right like which attacks are they doing I don't know if like slowing the pace would help to make it feel weightier [Music] [Applause] and obviously diversification in terms of like a having a two-hander would be [ __ ] sick dude I I really hope they you know having barriers around you maybe like again spells would be very I'm sure they'll have spells too being able to see some of those spells would be so sick I love how they get punted bro more meat they seem to have a lot of lives too and like the more an enemy that's normal right lives the less impactful your slashes feel when it takes you like 20 Cuts regardless whether it's a boss or a little enemy like that like they should be [ __ ] dead by now like that guy should not stand up and he does right like no no no no it's sometimes nice to be able to finish [ __ ] fight like this [Applause] quickly they don't yeah so they have to really reduce that enemy pool HP there's already a lot of them so like they shouldn't have this much health just again makes it feel less impactful what you're doing nor can you tell that they're really injured from your blow before like being able to sever arms and [ __ ] and cut off heads like Witcher you know to Showcase that okay the fight's definitely [ __ ] over is this the guild headquarters we must be coming oh yeah we're almost there hear me I challenge Branch Master split horn to a rash you challenge me who are you to step into my domain and oppose me you and the sly rats who put having different variety of voices and voice actors it seemed like all white British opportunity to prove why the gold leaves answer to [Music] me they kind of have the same inflection in their voice you oh [ __ ] damn windy boy oh boy you better step back boy meat more meat I mean overall combat does look really fun just those minor things right that they the the little things that they have to work on make the game a masterpiece
