notes sorry folks I'm old I'm not sorry that I'm old I just lag behind on things yall are like get it together Tony the beautiful Natasha L Boro what's up [Applause] guys and someone that came to the best place Manny jinto [Applause] [Applause] good morning well first one with too huh what but not the first one with Tony what did I hear no um Natasha and I were just saying that this is our first Kong Nina it's been so lovely I was here uh 2017 so it's been a while welcome back and you have gotten bigger and better and that's how I like it other children in the room well a bigger cookie is everyone's been really wonderful as they always are in Atlanta but Dragon conon fans are like no other some of the best cosplay oh my goodness seriously 100% we are a cosplay evening liation celebration that's about as PC as I can say so Johan Carlo uh you and I met um on a panel that you did here at Dragon Pond several years ago for the show Revolution so welcome back thank you very much absolutely and so many Revolution fans here in Atlanta they've been coming through my line saying we love that show we love that show um I'm happy to be back with Eric kryy on another show that he's doing called the boys really been yeah the Revolution was a special show and I'm glad that folks are revisiting that and watching it all the way through U the boys that's after Sesame Street and before electric company on PBS has a familyfriendly show that's right you're going to turn it on you're going to bring us a power and Natasha welcome to your first Dragon Con thank you you're welcome thank you but I'm sure it won't be your last right hell no but be a little busy filming season two I might miss one but I'll be back excellent speaking of filming season 2 Manny too soon too soon too soon okay okay okay I saw the news break and I was like it's going to make for a great panel man I'm so sorry sorry it's okay hey good work though don't you agree everyone thank you and the old adage no one dies in sci-fi fingers crossed yeah love it can we start with some questions of the morning do we have some lines built excellent I see someone over here what's our first question hey it's your turn for the mic not to work you're welcome there you go good job this question was asked in the Star Trek panel so I'm going to ask it here since this takes place over a hundred years of Star Wars history and you've all acted in your own little piece of it and your own little time what other show or time frame of Star Wars would you like to be as as a character or as yourself as an act oo is there another piece of it that you would like to participate in beyond what you've already done I just want to fight Hayden Christensen I think people just want to see that in any timeline his neighborhood my neighborhood let's go bro but yeah that would be that would Bey epic that would be epic you heard it here first folks he wants to fight Hayden not anak yeah just Hayden real time right here right now Sasha how about yourself oo um I don't know I I honestly I'm just so excited about where we're going and for season too I mean just the near future for me for sine yeah I'm I'm excited about um where we're at and how all the worlds could come together yeah I just want to be with Luke Sky Walker in Princess Leia yeah somewhere in between that romance baby dis sish me right in there that would be great yeah that's amazing I just want to wield a lightsaber yeah in any of the any of the a so that's the one thing I haven't done yet but yeah that would be fun it's kind of a dream oh okay but would you like to wield the lightsaber for sensitive or not and would you settle for a dark saer oh I'm so jealous of your dark saver so jealous he trying to pull you to the dark side oh yeah yeah yeah maybe consider yeah it goes with the outfit my outfit yeah it it works it works with the outfit I could see it be like a gray saer going look I've had enough of both of y'all we're going a line up in the middle and that's where we're going to stay right you you're like always supposed to clap it's fine what's our next question then we'll go to Discord oh hello um my question is is there any Star Wars character that you would likeed your character to me that they have it yet o n anyone that Finnick would like to meet that hasn't yet who hasn't died yet that are like G favorites H I mean I I don't know it's like I hate these questions because it's like Sophie's Choice it is Sophie's choice but I was thinking it I could see the trajectory of how you would have had Java drop of the Hut yeah like had maybe like a p deel that soured or whatever being right I don't know I mean it was pretty cool to already be in that scene with Luke Skywalker yeah that's kind of like a dream come true yeah I came so close I mean I just came so close to meeting Luke Skywalker my hero but I met him last week in Chicago the best and introduced him so it was really fun but I just like because they didn't tell me that it was him I shooting you didn't even know either no I had no idea none was I the only one that knew you knew who told you I just it was just so obvious duh glove R2D2 dressed up in like red or something you saw them I didn't see them I just heard boom boom boom at the door and they told me someone's there and you're really afraid of him okay I mean I figured that was some Jedi right I didn't know it was him I mean I would have I would have opened the door for him if I knew it was I'm on in well thank you for your work in Chicago oh oh you said you were you met him in Chicago last oh yeah did and I just figured that you were yeah know they asked me to introduce him I was really it was really exciting great great moment for me truly 100 we were both Fanboys for each other is really fun he's so awesome truly is he really is Natasha how about yourself um not for the first time but I guess in live action I'd love to see baton yeah and batan need to hang out yeah yeah I I got to hang out with you yes you did and Manny who would you like to to me o um you have a lot more history to play with yeah uh I mean so many uh I mean I would love for the stranger and Darth Maul to go toeo toe be pretty sick damn you are you just want to fight every I do I have a lot of anger [Applause] issues um but I think the first first iteration of my character kir could I don't know have a good hangout with Han Solo you know them wandering around the galaxies so yeah I think that'd be pretty cool too well I have a Discord question for a good followup what you're saying Manny please this is from vet Mike I imagine short for Corvette vet Mike in the room yay vet Mike this questions for you what is your phone no wait no for all who is your personal favorite Star Wars character so I'd like to start with oh easy yeah I mean I uh yeah I mean it would have been I mean it is Darth Maul uh just because of what Ray Park did with with that fight V Menace you know that Trio is epic and be to top that I mean everybody knows right um that was the bar we wanted to try and reach to but you know it's a bar that I don't think will ever be reached but it was it was definitely something um that we really admired and yeah so Darth ma for yeah good thanks there's only like three and that was one of them Natasha so one of you left I this question so hot I don't have a favorite um oh wait are you American me yeah where are you from I'm not American though how I'm not an investigative reporter y'all I just met the girl 2 minutes ago where are you from I'm from Australia yeah you like CIA what CA from ad oh yeah yeah yeah yes that's no country I'm sure you know her or kie bog no one has ever followed up Australia with that before Street Fighter with her Street Fighter you were in that movie I was child I'm the baby that's no way no thank you thank you just kidding I was uh I mean look I don't have a favorite um but I was pretty hysterical to get to work with Anakin Skywalker yeah yeah yeah yeah so cool joh Carlo oh for me it's Darth Vader yeah the mystery behind um you know that incredible voice of James Earl Jones and the power that he had when he performed using just his voice um was just awesome to me as a young kid and me not I you know just listening to you guys the the fact that it's been so amazing to be in the Star Wars World being a kid who has been such an absolute fan it was my religion growing up that um and and to hear you you know just talking about these characters s and your favorite and it's like holy crap we are in the Star Wars world it's so it's still kind of blows my mind every so often but I mean you know bless her if she was still alive but Princess Leia for sure yeah Queen I think she's all all yes car F she was um a lot of energy to dve upon and our fans sortly miss her for sure yeah absolutely yeah all right follow that up Sir hi there my name is Alex I have a question for Natasha but everyone else is also able to answer no so thanks for your permission we appreciate it Natasha in Rebels we see Sabine have go through a huge character change with her family being kind of disowned of her for her leing Empire then by the end of reels kind of Recon that relationship and her taking control the dark saber and Ahsoka we find out that her family died in the night of thousand tears how would you like to see savine come to grips with that loss going forward I think you see a lot of her attempting to come to grips with that loss in season 1 um and that is manifested through her trying and oftentimes failing to get in touch with the force which I think is related to your inner peace and your inner balance and the grief is a huge wall between her and that um so I would love to see her become a better Apprentice for season 2 and for her to transcend all this pain and be able to become the Jedi that she could be um so I think that the mental battle is is very connected to all that obviously as is the Star Wars world it's it's all connected so um yeah I think you saw her manage that grief quite a bit and its effect on her abilities um really excited to see what she can achieve in season two nice yeah well since the rest of the casts aren't really involved with that character's trajectory and their personal grief I wanted to Workshop that question a bit to include everyone is there anything that you're processing through your character um as professionals that you have given a backstory to like the loss or something that your characters are processing through their actions so Carlo well for me you know I I kind of looked back into the lore and the movies and looked at other moths to know what I didn't want to do Peter krushing being a wonderful moth but very held in very close to the vest moth get him being someone that you find out I mean he has his words tell us so much about assume I know everything so he has a network of information that he gets we as an audience are privy to how he gets it uh but I I developed something that I thought what is the reason because to me wanting ultimate power there there needs to be some um it needs to be informed by something sure and and so for me it was it was this is his opportunity in time where he beat him uh to do it the way he thinks is right so he's trying to write the ship and bring things together in a certain way um and so I looked at him as being um I mean what's the opposite of a hero you know we can be a hero in our own lives but then when our minds start to churn and go you can't do that you're not that good you know that that little negative voice in your head that's your anti-hero and so I kept thinking about this and I kept thinking oh he's a Fallen Hero that no one would listen to so you know in his mind in his brain he's doing things that he really believes will help people until he's not until he realizes oh somewhere in his brain people don't know they I have to do this and I can do it better than anyone else so um for me there's a pain there when you're not seen and you're not heard you're suffering because in your inside of you you don't believe anyone is attributing any value to you and so which is why I like to try to empower people to attribute a value to themselves so that they don't need outside um you know validation to begin with the validation starts inside and then when you have that validation for yourself then people kind of see it and then they want to share that by giving you validation from the outside so I have four daughters who I I'm constantly saying seek your own validation stamp yourself first and to me that's part of MAF Gideon so he goes he goes off the wire because he eventually feels like no you're all very stupid I know how to do this and I'm going to do it and that's Force that's not love that's not Community that's not you know taking other people's voice into consideration so those were the the kind of things I thought about to be able to play my character powerfully and to sort of feel Underneath It All that somewhere inside of and he's hurting for some reason or another y'all thought you were going to miss out on service this morning so Manny I would like to ask you um about the stranger do you think there was any processes of grief that caused the to behave the way that that character dies um it's tough because it's I got to go back to that dark place um uh with kir the stranger his whole being was based on the fact that he was always seen as an outs ER MH and along with myself a lot of the cast and Leslie as well we always really felt like we were outcasts and the stranger was really very much an embodiment of it and I feel like a lot of us in this room tend to feel like we're a little different we're a little unaccepted at times and um I think it really just came down to dealing with how do you deal with a world that doesn't accept who you authentically are um and hopefully a lot of this can relate so yeah that was the biggest anger for the stranger and kind [Applause] [Music] here and for FN I thought we going to just these are I mean how do I like add to these amazing comments um you know fenic was supposed to only be in one episode right right she was this assassin mysterious uh has this like amazing reputation and then she dies I'm like John Dave what kind of a legendary assassin is she you know that just freaking like get killed by this Punk so easily so um that's when the handcuffs came in you know I like handcuffs so anyhow um just kidding you know me I cannot not do those things okay so say those things I know um off topic see these two have not worked with me on set before so they don't know all right here we go um but you so I you know I just like created as much as I could given the material and uh I I I was you know I invested a lot into the hairstyle the you know background and then Dave was like oh maybe she doesn't die he was teasing me and then you know I get the amazing phone call that she doesn't die so I was like now what and it's it's just she's that kind of character because then he he added her back for the bad batch you know thank yeah I know bad p i mean bad batch is amazing it's an amazing animation I love animation and so beautifully done but you know that takes her back 20 years uh still wearing the same damn outfit I don't know little you know she must have several but but you know so now I've got this body of episodes to try to figure out who she is and I I'm still trying to figure out because we we we you know we created these long stories but she's a loner she's a mercenary and yet at the same time she has a code that a moral code that she follows and goes by um and that's why she was able to work with Mando and all this you know like stuff that was happening um and with Boba so it's it's she's still evolving and I really hope for Boba Fett too to um happen because I think there's a lot more stories to be told so with these two characters so yeah can I have a louder over your your fan efforts are what make this happen I remember the time of the great Star Wars drought we all do where we were like please give us anything so what's our next question hi the plank Circle um this is for John Carlo um who do you think would win in a fight between moan and best drink a you know my immediate answer is MF Gideon and there's a reason for it you know Gus had you know Gus is pretty tough and you've seen him do some of his own dirty work but M Gideon has the dark saber I mean you know he he so you know and he flies his own Tie Fighter um and uh I just think that in my world some days it's Gus but a lot of days it's mine and he's got that band of dark Troopers that's right come on like can't mess with him no wait who's G wait were you in Breaking Bad also yeah great villain one of the best thank you you're welcome in every franchise man you're so greedy you're so greedy I love it I love watching you in everything dude you're just killing it so much [Applause] right what's the next question hi um my question is what are y'all's favorite things about your costumes oh it's easy for me I have a cape that was my whole conversation originally with John Fabro he was like you know he's telling me I wrote a role for you and you have any requests at the end of the conversation I said I must have a cape and I got to tell you when I first put that cape on in my dressing room I asked all the dressers to walk out please close the door behind me anding around around could tell you nothing maybe it's that oh my gosh I was like a kid in the candy store um and and you know I was really blessed with madine because I had one the First costume was pretty terrific and I was fairly mobile and then I got the best car and then I truly felt less Mobility but more strength so it's pretty fantastic made my favorite part Sasha how about you I think when we first see Sabine and she's kind of you know she's living in the tower and and there's this this casualness to her that was really fun to work my way back from like one of my favorite scenes in the show is when I cut my hair and it's that very Samurai style um I'm ready I'm ready again and I'm ready to put the armor back on and I got to lay out each piece um and and kind of live the experience of starting in very like unstructured casual pants and leather jacket that felt kind of loose and and that's where Sabine was and then I got to live again the experience of putting that armor on and feeling the difference and how it changes your body language and how it changes your energy um so it was amazing to get to start the show kind of not in hiding but you know she's taking some time off and then cutting my hair off and and just very much symbolically showing up in that moment on a sooka ship saying I'm ready in that armor so the costume for Sabine was huge and I don't know if I have a favorite but I like having my saber and my blasters all on my belt you know just feel like it's kind of like Overkill but that's the bean so she loves weapons it's cool great answer Manny how about yourself uh Manny you answer yours my costume yeah hash arms um that it's not it was that that is not my favorite um no um no uh I had oh man I was blessed with a character that was ready for battle um My lightsaber was um unique in the sense that it had a secret dagger inside the hilt um we really wanted to play with the idea of him not playing Fair of how this character will do whatever whatever it takes to win um and then the the cortosis on his arm and in his helmet um it was really just a Onan Army and it was all about survival so yeah I mean the whole costume in itself was a huge blessing to to work with that that's the blessing that we have as actors is costume hair makeup it it all helps us so much to become that character and when I first saw fenx costume it was already made the silhouette of it was what took my breath away um and uh and at first you know being it that it was only one episode I wanted to create more of a severe silhouette because of it um you know and then we had conversation oh maybe we could keep it the hair softer so that it's not so um you know restrictive of the character but my thinking was well she's an assassin you know she can't have hair blowing all over the place so um me and Maria um Sandoval we came up with this amazing hair uh style which was super complicated you know lots of braids braids that had fenic fox ears we designed it into it she designed the the braid uh the long braid for the Fox's tail like we were just like going all out with the name fenic sure and you know I wanted to create because that's all Star Wars characters if you really think about them it's the silhouette and and so when you see that silhouette you immediately recognize that character so I I wanted that and uh and then you know then I had to come back and redo that hairdo which takes like an hour plus to to do um but yeah I I love my my costume it it's it's so badass and it always makes me feel really great it's really hot and uh uh four layers of leather boots gloves the helmet you can't see peripherally but I love it and I can hide I had I can hide snacks in my boots there you go that was what I was looking for where are the pockets to hide the snacks or my phone like I can hide well cosplayers here in Atlanta over Labor Day we can know a thing or two about hot but it's also empowering when you are fully realized right yeah yes to that baby yes they know now from C princess H&B is C princess H&B in the room Hi friend this is a great question what is your worst or best or strangest audition story that that you still reveal at those close cocktail parties I had I had to perform a rectal EX Sam for for ER like really seriously you know you go through four years of Carnegie melon University to learn to be an actor and then your audition is oh you're going to be performing a rectal exam that was my audition for Dr Deb Chen on oh my gosh you on ER that that that one that one yeah I I guess I did it really well I got the park there's nothing better than trying to M can I just say that was not in my four years of college in my drama program all right love it uh for me it had to be Payday 2 where I played the dentist you know I mean I just kept thinking of Lawrence Olivier and Marathon Man and uh you know it's kind of intense to have to go into someone's mouth sure you know and and do it convincingly uh and be menacing all at the same time I'm going to pull your teeth and I'm not going to replace it you know so but it's it's always interesting to to you know once you put on that white lab code um again it's empowerment you know you we're empowered by not only the words but then we're empowered by our imaginations and our vision for what we think the character can be and so as actors uh at least for me I'm constantly working toward that and it doesn't stop once I have the costume finished um it's inspiration that that comes from all the great Artisans who we work with hair stylist makeup um and certainly you know I felt uh powerful in my first madian costume but my second madian costume even though it was more restrictive it it kept my shoulders back um the line I couldn't break the line within my body uh because it was defined U by this this very well-made costume and so I had to move differently and when then you when you move differently then you think differently because you have to think you're you're telling your muscles to move a certain way but you can't do it the same way in that costume so it allows you in a way a new route um to to playing your character so again it's empowering and if you embrace it um it becomes a part part of who this character grows to be love that thank you Sean Cara for bringing back some class to this piano I defer to the two of you now continue this path of [Music] classiness um uh I actually I just fully cannot I feel like I'm not allowed to talk about some of my worst auditions but let me see I there was a pretty silly one it wasn't a it wasn't negative or anything um but I did a film called day shift I had a small roll in and I was home in Sydney at the time in Australia and I and I sent in a tape and it was basically like a nine page fight scene where I am in combat with Jamie Fox and then I drag him and slam his head onto the toilet seat multiple times and then I'm a vampire as well and I have it's a whole thing and uh as we all have done and so you know when it's always challenging when you do a tape you're standing against a wall and then you have to like act out this entire scene that on the day you'll have other actors and you'll have props and you'll have a set and you'll have all the things and uh I did you know my version of it I was kind of like yeah you get it there'll be a fight and then act act act and then there'll be a fight and uh they're like no no no can you can you act out though like they were like can you do it again but like do the fight and so I'm like all right all right and I just kind of sent it and I was doing a little like you know and um I like had the fake toilet seat and then I paned the camera and I kind of filmed the entire fight with no one and nothing and it was probably the most unhinged tape I've ever sent to anyone in my life and then I got the roll so I don't know yeah [Applause] these are the answers the fans come to here they love this how about you Manny best audition story o um I mention I mean I hate to repeat myself but I mentioned this story yesterday uh it was a a comedic audition that I went to um was a sitcom and I come into to the room I'm all prepared and uh I'm having a bit of trouble because I'm not really great at comedy at at least at the time and then I do it but then I don't get the words and then the lady stops me and she says I'm sorry but you do know this is supposed to be comedic right and then my heart just sinks and I'm like I suck as an actor I need to go back home pack my bags um and I dealt with it I dealt with it I slept on it and you know what I was like you know what I'm going to pick myself back up I'm going to work on the comedy I'm going to read the books watch the shows and I'm glad I did because about a week week and a half later I got the audition for the good [Applause] place oh my gosh you were in the good place yeah yeah I was um so yeah don't take no for an answer um keep fighting because you don't know what's what's waiting yeah I didn't know that was this was the worst audition story I thought it was like a physician story shut I did I must not have heard the question properly first I thought it was optician and then I thought it was physician so I told a dentist story wow I haven't had any copy this morning no I really I mean it I'd be really honest I I I've got on the bandwagon now now I understand what's happening here um okay you're like Natasha was a doctor vampire and what what are they talking about wait okay I got it okay no worst audition story well everyone's had success I've had a couple of failures once with Taylor hackford and once with Oliver Stone um and those are some big directors right so I went in for Taylor haor and and the scene required me um the scene was a bad guy in a voodoo movie he was doing and um and there was a stage direction that you know basically you clear this guy's desk and I walked in and it was his office and I was kind of surprised because I thought there'd be a reader there and he decides well no I'm going to read with you and so I had to make this very quick decision because got the page into the scene I would have to clear his desk and I was like so the first part of the scene I was really terrible because in my brain I'm going oh my God how am I going to clear his desk how I'm going to clear his desk right and I just went for it and I I literally hopped on his desk he's sitting behind reading with me his mouth drops and I clear his desk his computer his phone everything on his freaking desk you know what and and he looks at me like this dude is crazy and I'm thinking yeah I freaking did it and uh he said he looked around and he said um well thank you very much and I said well do you want me to clean it up he said no thank you just please leave um I I you know I I got to know him a little bit um different award shows and different things and I was able to apologize but I have never worked with him again the moment of the audition it was my Triumph and my failure but honestly in that moment that was on him for having those sides read that way and the he chose for you to audition in you got to understand actors I mean I went in for for Oliver Stone and um it was the Vietnam movie he was doing and I walked in with with sunglasses a bandana on my head dog tags a green vest camouflage and I'm sitting there reading with him and and again he's reading with me in a different setting an audition space setting and I'm killing the audition I'm feeling like really confident and he just stops when I finish and he takes a deep breath and he says can you do me a favor and I said yeah yeah anything you want he said um could you just take all that off the glasses the bandana the dog tag just let me see you for a second and I thought what I mean I'm auditioning for a Vietnam vet I'm tough I'm mean I'm nasty and I walked in in character and there was another one where I you know thank you very much I didn't get the part I mean you know what am I going to do what are you going to do you know you you we put our best foot forward and we do what we because if you don't make a choice that then then a choice is made for you and I guess maybe I should wait for direction I think you're doing just fine oh thank you thank you Ser strong choices and and at what point did you realize it wasn't a physician story did it did it get to me any well I think Manny was the one who said oh my worst audition story yeah where am I right now so it took that long okay well M the rest of you don't speak English D was speaking English oh Dam wow man Star Trek people never get along [Music] right next question hi I'm is um growing up as a half Asian kid as in Star Wars fan is very interesting because there was a lot of influence of my culture on screen but not my people um M Natasha Manny how does it feel to be on screen representation and inspiring a new generation of Asian kids representation look at this table look at this table seriously Tony can you leave call it right here I know oh my God Mulan touched [Music] me it's I think it's going in the right direction yeah you know um because it is the UN like galaxies many galaxies and there's uh there's green people and purple people and there should definitely be us as well 100% And so much is St Wars yeah as most of we of us know is is based on you know East Asian philosophy and so I mean literally my stunk coordinator is a woa goddess from China me who um basically it's it's just strange sometimes to be uh becoming really good at a craft that is from China or it's from Japan and taking so much influence and then not taking that to the screen so it feels really good to close the loop and also represent on screen what is influenced by East Asian culture you know the force Jedi all of it Samurai um Chi whatever you want to take of it they're all really beautiful philosophies um and it just feels really good to be able to bring the people that have taught us that represent them and bring it onto the screen so yeah thanks for saying that yeah and the flip side is I've I mean I've been in this business for four or five decades now and I think it's going to be wonderful when at one point or another where you're just watching something and you're just watching the characters you know it's just about the characters it's about that the representation is there already but it's almost like Superfluous it's it's it's because it's become that normal you know because this is the world we live in and it's it should just be that normal sure yeah so should that even pay scale oh hell yeah and for men and women correct absolutely what's our next question hi uh my question is for everybody in the good place Jason plays for everyone that was not in the good place I watched a good play's character wait for it it's so sorry I'm sure it's great there's a Twist coming I'm ready for it okay yeah you're good at twist um so in the good place Jason Plays a perfect game of Madden in order to feel complete and fulfilled in the afterlife what is each of your like fun or silly type life goal ooh that is a great question yeah silly life go I don't know I'm kind of that's my job you know I mean the stuff we get to play with whenever we're working is pretty pretty amazing um yeah well let's Workshop that um does anybody have an answer for that because I have a Twist on it that I think might help like maybe um a location like an an area of the world that maybe haven't had a chance to visit something that's like a of a place to visit or travel to that maybe you have well for me you know I I go back to when I was a boy and things I always wanted to do and obviously I've become an actor director producer um but I always wanted to be an archaeologist you know I mean I I love you know Indiana Jones for that reason it takes you to another place where there are hidden treasures and there's information surrounding history of another culture another people and so for me I I always thought that I would I would go to ancient Egypt and I'd be an archaeologist um or a scientist in some ways like a paleontologist so that's something I still think about and you never know about life I think we're we're so used to pursuing one goal in our lives and as we expand ourselves um we come to realize that maybe we have more than one career and maybe you know there's a time and season for everything and then maybe it's time for me to expand myself and in another Direction and so that's how I felt about my acting career when I was just an actor auditioning and then somewhere along the line I went well there stories I want to tell and and I want to tell them in a way that that allows me to fulfill the obligation of doing the research to tell them so then I would read books and start optioning books and then I became a director because the director's vision is to tell the whole story it's not that you're just dictating to actors it's that you have an idea of what the vision of the whole story is is and so it allowed more freedom to be able to personalize it and then I kept acting and I thought oh um there's no one's offering me a job or why am I waiting for someone to offer me something why am I not developing for myself so this is the part of life where you realize that the possibilities for you to take control for you to drive the ship of your life so then you get a project I get a project and I go oh I want to develop this novel which I'm developing two right now with great great well-known writers then what do I do you develop you you do a treatment you find a writer to write it either on spec or you pay them some money then you have to become a Salesman isn't this life you have to sell your project which means you have to learn how to speak about it and you have to be convincing to get people on your side this is life so ideas get germinated by having friendships and relationships and and your passion your passion drives everything then you get folks who you can talk to and say listen to this idea and that's how you get people on board to fund it and Studios to say yes to you because you believe in what you're you're doing and you're convincing in your um in in what you put out there how you are able to describe it and then you become a businessman there the producer because you say oh I'm going to go to these specific networks or these specific Studios because that's their gen and you're going to tell them how they're going to how they'll be renumerated from the project that you're pitching to them and and there you have it you're creating your own destiny your own Road and you create that kind of fulfillment from beginning to end you're responsible no one's is responsible other than than you for being able to guide your own ship in your work and in your [Applause] life it's awesome oh I want to buy a van and I want to live in the van and I want to backpack and I want to travel the country from my van I would love to do that oh [Applause] [Music] anyway wish it into existence and it shall come true manifest it yes Manny
