what happened last year we won it last year you know this is how we wanted this is what we look for in you he told me this is what your role is going to be and he was very straightforward with me and that's that's all we can ask it's hard to find that in this league well it's tough to find that in jobs period especially when you go in and there's some Dialogue on a phone and there's some things promised and then you get there and whether you have a family or not you get there you make that emotional investment that mental investment you get there you find out it's not exactly what was promised has everything been delivered here and that's why obviously you look like you've got a smile on your face all the time here absolutely it's way above par here and they they treat these guys unbelievable um they treat us amazing the facilities here are great the facilities here are better than some of the parks that I've played in Affiliated ball absolutely and uh the way that uh Andrew takes care of us and the way skip handles things the way Tom handles things it's very professional around here do you have any friends on this team from baseball before I did not I actually never didn't know any one of these guys um but I'm glad to meet them now because they're a bunch of great guys and we we have a very good a very good team here as far as team chemistry well the Six Degrees of Separation in life will be about two in the baseball circle so I'm sure that you know somebody on your team that knew some guy that you played with and somebody over in that other Dugout you're going to run into somebody as you go along that knew somebody that you knew or you played with that guy in particular I mean would you agree that the degrees of separation are are a lot lesser than they are in life absolutely here uh like once you're in the Baseball World Baseball world's so small that that within two people you know you know you have a connection somewhere along the line like with all the Royals guys um played against them in Spring I might not have known who they were but we started talking and oh I remember you yeah absolutely we played against each other or do you know this guy who was with with the cup yeah yeah he's my roommate you know so we all have connections one way or the other here and uh which makes it easier to get along absolutely so you're 25 as I mentioned I think three or four times already and I'm really struck by that age and where you've been in your career because I think definitely skills on your side but youth is as well and you're still playing the game so you know obviously you're waiting for another opportunity aren't you absolutely I'm here uh to try and play well have a good year and then um hopefully get back and Affiliated but I'm I'm always gonna love this game I'm always going to want to play this game and uh hopefully God willing I'll always have a job in this game if Affiliated baseball doesn't come this year or even come next year this is still a pretty good spot I'm not trying to put words in your mouth but the level of competition here is pretty good and it is professional baseball and you are paid and you are looked after this isn't it could be worse couldn't it Nate it could be a lot worse there could be places that could be a lot worse than this and hands down so this is a good situation here you know like I said you guys treat the guys well here very well tell me a little bit about the team start the Laredo series uh was a good one although you know I'm sure that you guys would have liked to have Wednesday back four hours and 15 minutes and felt that when you came back as many times and the lead changed his hands seven times and you've got a better chance to win it but then I guess the big part to the question is kicking off the back end of this home stand against what is this franchise's biggest rival and that franchise's biggest rival in here absolutely we're really excited to get the series going um especially coming after the long game it was a great baseball game it was back and forth that's what fans love to see I mean that's what we love to play in because it's high intensity it's it's why we played the game and uh to have a rivalry come to our home is we want to win the ones at home you know what I mean they're going to be a good team we're a good team we're going to put our best nine out there and so will they you know we'll see who comes out on top but I believe when we're at home we need to win we need to win the games at home double headers uh always important to get that first one because it sets up the opportunity for the doubleheader series or the doubleheader sweep as opposed to oh we lost the first one there's the hiccup now we really are pressing to win that second one is that the way you view it too absolutely if you take the first one I mean you already got them down you know you got um the well I'm sorry momentum the momentum there you go the momentum is already on your system yeah absolutely the momentum's on your side and you're taking into locker room relax a little bit and you got that going into the next game so it's huge to win the first game I know you got a stretch one last one for you on a lighter side you bought a cowboy hat and Amarillo looked real good on you where's it at Timber Locker at the moment you know that we uh there was only two days I didn't bring it to the field on the road and those two days have to be the two days we lost so I got kind of blamed for that but uh I've had it ever since and
