49ers Season Preview. Offense and Defense Breakdown.

good afternoon 49er fans and 49er fans only is none other than your good brother Westside JJ and I'm here with the Niner narrative week one this was served somewhat as a season preview as I break down the offensive side of the ball and the defensive side of the ball talk about the schedule a little bit and my expectations on the season first and foremost is Super Bowl or bust that's it that's all that's it we we went last year I expect to be back this year holding that trophy above our heads with that ring on our finger I don't know who's coming out the AFC but I expect us to come out the NFC that's it that's all Shanahan we need more explosive offensive performances in the postseason for you to be a guru we don't get enough we don't get enough of that in in the postseason this year it has to change you and Pie we need that coach quarterback relationship to grow I'm not against you Cal Shanahan love you love you love you love love once you came here success became a thing as long as you got a good quarterback we win games not against you a lot of Niner fans are against you they want your head but if we if we fire Cal who do we hire if we fire who do we hire no complaints for me Cal just when we get to that postseason I hope that offense is running hot new defensive coordinator Nick soron in-house hire get the job done baby Steve wils allegedly lost the lost the locker room he played a style they weren't used to we weren't a top five defense last year we need a top five offense and defense this year both we weren't we weren't top five last year according to the numbers this year I expect that to change we got Brandon stadley just got fired from San Diego three years coaching to San Diego before that he had the Rams defense running hot so I'm assuming he'll be helping out sourcing this year on the defense coaching staff get the job done coach of Staff love you love you coach of Staff love you that's it baby Brandon aay love you Trent Williams love you y'all signed y' extensions y'all got y'all money come to play come to play it's GNA take some preparation for y'all to get ready y'all first week practicing hey week one week two maybe we don't go to y'all as much as we we we need to Trent you starting so we GNA have to go to you but aayu maybe you don't get the targets you used to week one maybe you do you in Pur you got good good chemistry but y'all got y'all money let's perform love you that's it that's all y'all now quarterback position we got py man that's that's our QB hey that window to be honest that window's closing for us a lot of our best players are getting a little older pery you playing on a discount right now we know you want your money we know you want your bread you putting up big numbers for us a lot of people say it's the weapons whatever the case may be you're putting up the numbers you're putting wins on the board you're going to want your bread just like everybody else where you know we we need you to continue we need you to grow pre- Snap you know you're not going to get that much better physically but pre- snap you know get smarter stay hopefully you've been in the the film room you're you're a starter Josh dobs are backup I'm comfortable with him backing up if you go down somehow you know not not wishing it on you I'm comfortable with Josh dos as our backup he brings a different element he's a little more mobile he has some experience that's good I'm comfortable with the quarterback position just I need pie and Shanahan to get that coach back relationship tip party pre- snap that's what separates the men from the mice pre- snap pre- snap read that defense before you hike that ball physically you probably not going to get that much better but you can get smarter quarterback position we comfortable there Christian mcaffrey love you the best back in the game hopefully this season we can we can decrease the workload throughout the year for CAC let's decrease the workload not so many carries last year he averaged about 21 21 touches a game both rushes and receptions let's knock that down a few let's knock let's knock that down to something like 1819 let's preserve CAC for the postseason we might be going up north or somewhere again you know we might be on the road where it's cold we're going to need see M fresh Jordan Mason let's get that man some more carries Patrick Taylor the young back let's see what he got CAC our main focus when it comes to mcaffrey is preserving him for the postseason cruise control cruise control he got some bread this year too let's see him play that contract through when running backs get their money they tend to to to to stumble back a little bit let's keep c ma fresh for January on into February let's take some of those touches down let's get Jordan Mason into the into the fold a little more let's get Patrick Taylor into the fold preserve CAC at the back at the running back position we're good Cal hu cheek best fullback in the game highest paid fullback in the game we know what he can do he provides us a wrinkle in the pass game and he's run blocking like a offensive lineman we're we're good in the back field no question there auk you got your money love you touchdown Frisco hands up when it comes to that I hey I thought you was a guner I thought you was a guner thought you would have been in Pittsburgh thought you would have been in Cleveland we made it happen I don't know where this money coming from we we got a lot of we got a lot of bread on the books I don't know where this money coming from but she was a San Francisco 49er for years to come and I'm glad you're here my boy skilled receiver great route runner, 1300 yards last year 18 yards a catch big play play receiver you're a true number one in my eyes you're getting the money now so you're a true number one in my eyes and by the books let's keep that going let's keep that going keep doing what you doing again we got to preserve Debo too we put Debo in situations where he he he may miss a couple games we got to preserve Debo too over 1100 yards from scrimmage 12 total TDS on less than 100 touches a lot of people say Debo fell off I can't agree he he splits a little bit in the running back and he catches passes 1100 yards from scrimmage I like that 12 TDS I like that he's worth the bread in my eyes but again we need Debo ready for January and February I believe with this roster we can get through the regular season by using some of our younger Talent a little more and preserving our grade A players most importantly CAC and Debo cuz debbo plays a physical style of football he tends to miss a couple games every season we need him healthy come January February Ricky paaw my boy my boy hey that bay area is treacherous man that bay is treacherous boy hey they hungry out there just like everywhere else but the bay they act on it man glad you still here glad you still still here with us glad uh Hey prayers prayers go out prayers go out I don't know when you'll be back to play but get right get healthy you know what I'm saying prepare yourself football right now isn't the first priority first round pick routes in hands you're playing a slot you're playing the middle of the field we attack the middle of the field when you get back and you ready to play we'll be here waiting for you my boy but that bay area is Tre youris hey man take care of yourself man take care of yourself receiver position now that auk's on the books I think we great a a receiver I like Ricky I like Ricky he showed a little resilience off the field I like Ricky you know Jaan Jennings I I like Jawan Ronnie Bell hey show us some improvement when you get your snaps but Jacob coings I like the big play speed that's somebody I want want to see with the with the ball in their hands who could maybe take a little bit of the load off of Debo Jacob cowings I want you to make a splash this year man you I like that 510 speed you know that little short dude with the with the burners those dudes make splashes in the in the NFL and we need a little bit more that more of that we need you kind of taking those Ray Ray McLoud snaps but I want you to outperform Ray Ray outperform him please receiver I'mma give us about a we we we like a B+ we like a B+ to be honest you know what I'm saying I was going to say a but we we a B+ there if we can get that solid third um we we we'll work our way into the a slot tight ends KD just like CMAC just like Debo we need you healthy come January February we I know the physical players like our thing you know we we don't go down easy but man we need kdo man we need him and he's he's down to he's kind of at the end of his rope and we have no dep at tight end our backup tight end Jake I don't know how to pronounce his name I don't know who this dude is I'm I'm not trusting the the dep at tight end at all so we gonna need KD I'm not maybe we I know we probably signed the tight end I got to do my homework on that a third but I'm not trusting the Depp at tight end we're going to need KD All Season un fortunately like but again let's let's dial back the workload somehow let's let's maybe not he maybe he doesn't need a th000 receiving yards this year maybe he can use 700 800 but January February that's the goal let's get through the regular season but let's prepare for the New Year's and a week before Valentine's that Super Bowl let's prepare for then let's not look too far ahead though but I know we we don't need to put our work workhorses in full gear maybe at tight end because they we real Slim there but man KD please man please I know it's it's coming down to the end for you it's coming down to the end for you man I would hate for you to retire or to leave San Fran without a ring man you deserve a ring I hate that some of our players had the retired ners or leave San Francisco without a ring it's hard to it's hard to say their royalty if they've never got that W come Super Bowl Sunday but kiddo man just healthy that's all I ask from most of our positions we strong at at our skill positions it's just about health now that offensive line that right side of offensive that right side cannot win with him can't do it oh man we can win with him but it's man come come the draft again maybe I'm looking too far ahead on a lot of this come the NFL draft next next April we need to address that line we need a I would like to go right tackle I don't know how long Trent Williams got I would like to go right tackle let's groom a tackle to to go to that left side when Trent decides to retire cuz that right side is ugly it's ugly I like Aaron Banks love Trent Williams love you Jake brindle love you too but that right side is ugly Spencer Buford John valenciano my boy from the U Colton ugly ugly ugly ugly it sounded terrible to me that sounds terrible terrible like we need to address that right side man like uh that's like our weakest link on the team most people would say cornerback but I'm thinking the right side of that offensive line I could remember a play in the Super Bowl where a Miss assignment a DN or a d lineman got in way too easy on a misassignment on the right side probably cost us a w but man uh we didn't really address it we didn't in the off seon so we got to live with it y'all this unit this is our our weakest unit in my opinion Trent carries us the games he missed last year our offense struggled to be the what were we the third offense last year what's the books yeah yeah second total offense last year but when the I think Trent missed two games we probably scored 10 points each if I'm not mistaken Trent is our most important offensive player if he's not on the field all those weapons get cut down 25% Brock pie turns into Nick Mullins when Trenton Williams isn't on the field so one lineman shouldn't be that important I know the left tackle is very very important but we should be able to keep keep you know stay strong keep up the speed if one's out but Trent is super important I'm GL he signed his extension hopefully this week in practice he's catching up the speed and is ready to play cuz boy that offensive line is a c minus Without You on the on the field and it's a C+ with you maybe B minus at best when we're performing I don't know man like it sounded terrible to me sounds terrible man but uh next April need a right tackle absolutely no question questions like or pay for one acquire one somehow we have an aggressive front office maybe we can acquire a right tackle even in in season we make moves we're aggressive in the front office maybe in season we can get us a right tackle think about that John overall offense the offense is a a the offense is a a we had the second total offense last year fourth in passing third in rushing the balance is there third in scoring the offense is a a cal Shanahan I would say he is a genius he just has to show that genius in the postseason more I'm not worried we just have to preserve some of our stars CMAC Debo kdo iuk play up to your contract don't be that guy that gets paid and then Dows it back I know you haven't really practiced much so hopefully they ease you into the into the scheme into the play calling so like but overall I love the offense um Ricky P um if I'm pronouncing that right get well I would love to see you in in the offense you're a first round pick I hope you can perform like one take some of the load off of our guys like get well get well heal my boy heal not worried about the offense one bit well the right side of the of the offensive line This is garbage garbage garbage garbage hopefully y'all improved or something y'all figure something out but but down to the defense our bread and butter last year the D coordinator allegedly lost the locker room played a less aggressive style guys spoke up in the media during the season in the off season Nick soron in-house higher he was here with uh DeMarco so hopefully he he understands like the the way the guys want to play and we can get back to that I'm looking for a top five performance from our defense this year we got a whole new kind of a whole new dline about three new starters over there we lost some guys aric Armstead thanks for your service them other dudes we can do it out that's the truth we can do it out we can do it out the rest of y'all Leonard Floyd we have a thing for signing aging Edge rushers Leonard got 10 sacks last year coming get 10 more this year for us get some get some pressures hopefully you could come and you know carry your wa shout outs to Leonard Floyd we we love those those aging D lineman but I'm hoping he performs man hope hopefully he can come in here and put some numbers up our D tackles we got a to a total new set not a whole new set but some new guys um Malik Collins who I'm Who I'm looking to perform well Jordan Elliott run stopper he's going to be playing on early Downs when he does get in but Malik Collins he's Run Stop pass rush he's a he's a three down down lineman so we got them two replacing Armstead kenlaw is it a upgrade potentially potentially I think so they can be I I I like Armstead but I think Malik Collins and Jordan Elliott can outperform our tackles from last season not that they didn't perform well but I think these two guys can come in do do do well enough um what's cudy from Washington's name man Chase young Washington knew something we didn't know that's why that's why they shot him to us they knew something we didn't know it's all good you know I thought I thought it didn't it couldn't hurt it couldn't have hurt it couldn't have hurt it couldn't have hurt why not you know low risk High reward he's gone now we got Leonard Floyd now we got gross gross Matos is that how you pronounce his name former Panther so we got a couple new guys off the edge and we got Nick Bosa love you Nick Bosa love you Nick Bosa love you need a big GE out of you Nick need a big GE out of you Nick you got your bread you got a full offseason in you time for a big season Nick I'm looking forward to a big season or dline the names don't jump out at you like they normally do but we we spend money on the D line so I'm expecting them to perform um linebacker oh before I go Javon harro love another agent D lineman keep it up keep it up keep it up we going to need you we going to need you and Malik Collins in the middle we GNA need y'all to be versatile we need that versatility that run stop and that pass rush from the both of you love you linebackers Dre green law freak injury might not be back to the middle of the Year tough tough we got dandre Campbell though experience Green Bay Packer linebacker to fill in hopefully that could build us some debt cuz once Dr Green law went out in the Super Bowl Kelsey went crazy so we're going to need some dep at that linebacker position and Campbell you know he's going to get about 8 to 10 weeks to start and get the snaps there get get acquainted with the defense ball out ball out let's not have to rush green law back ball out let's get it cuz Fred Warner is going to do his dirt love you Fred Warner love you San Francisco Fred is a touchdown a defensive one not necessarily six in the end zone but he's goingon to stop TDS he gonna get defenses off the field both in run stop and in pass coverage the best linebacker in the game love you Fred Warner love you the best linebacker in the game you heard it here Westside JJ said that you heard so when green law gets back hopefully our depth is a little more you know intact we can have three capable linebackers three starters so we can again take some of the load off of our grade A players maybe Fred doesn't need to be on the field every defensive drive or maybe he do I wouldn't mind it maybe he do but if we can throw Campbell and green law out there towards the end of the year let them get a little chemistry take a little bit of load off of Fred's that would be great linebacker position with green law on the field where a there with green law on the field we'll see what Campbell provides cornerback that right side is kind of similar to the right side of our offensive line travar schard lock down when people say oh the 49 Corners is weak not all of them not all of them we got a true one over there trar Ward is a one he's a one over there he's a one travar Ward love you love your game my boy love your game that right side is going to need Improvement we're GNA need Improvement Lenor demo de just need Improvement man you're not bad you're not bad but we just need continue to get better you still young the person I would like to see come and snatch your position though is The Rook Florida State Renardo green second round pick I would love for him to come and show that he can be that that other safe other cornerback over there him and Ward let's put Chara in the slot let's have him and Ward on the outside locking down I'm I'm expecting green is the one rookie that I expect to become a great 49er Ronaldo green I expect him to be a great 49er not to have a great rookie season but to be a great 49er this year and years to come him and Ward bookends I'm expecting him to be bookends I don't want to see ay Thomas on the field I don't want to see it I'm I'm done with that I'm done I thought we was going to cut him to be honest this is garbage I thought we was gonna cut him but he's a Niner so again like I'm hoping they improve I'm hoping they improve man I'm hoping somehow like Sor get gets in there puts guys in the spot improves their game cuz a lot of it has to do with coaching a lot of it has to do with scheme scheme these guys in position to be better than what I've seen in the past at corner we're probably a good B minus B we had a good pass defense last year I know our pass rush has a lot to do with it actually we didn't really have a good pass defense now that I think about it it wasn't good it wasn't good it wasn't good what am I talking about it's at the it's Dam near like the bottom third of the league it wasn't good it wasn't good what am I talking about what am I talking about cannot win with him can't do it we got to do better let's do better let's try to get in the top half maybe top 15 our run defense is good let's get in the top 15 let's let's flirt with the top 10 let's become a lead again let's let's let's let our defense show that they can be elite again make the 49ers defense Elite again that's what I want want to see from the defense let's become Elite last year we I don't think we were Elite we were good but we weren't Elite we did very well against the Chiefs we looked Elite against the Chiefs but let's look Elite throughout let's build depth let some of these young guys show show what they can do and um let's let's build depth that's another one of my arguments dep let's build de when Dre green law went out his replacement was lost Dearing the headlights Campbell you got 8 to 10 weeks my boy learn the system add to that debt Ronaldo green take that second cornerback spot come for the top spot aim high aim high we giving out money in Frisco Ronaldo green love you love you already I know you're Florida State SEMO it's all good but come for the top spot man ain't for Wards ain't for travar WS position aim for that don't stop at the second spot aim high you got it in you you I know you got it in you safety hanga man hanga brown Mustafa little safety rotation that'll be good we'll be B+ at the safety spot B+ a minus maybe B at least but I'm thinking I'm going to go in the middle and say B+ defense let's get back to Elite 49ers make the 49ers defense Elite again Nick soron I believe in you I believe in you in-house hire I believe in promotions I believe in hiring in-house you and Brandon stady put y' Minds together get that defense together use those weapons use that versatility get with Fred Warner figure out what we need to do Nick Bosa love you figure it out make the 49ers defense Elite again we need a top five season out of our defense let's improve that pass defense let's improve that let's not let's not let that right side get assaulted week after week Leonard Floyd come in get to that quarterback baby get to that QB keep that up I know you aging I know you aging but keep that pass rush up baby keep that pass rush up Nick Saron I believe in you we got Steve wils out of there but now it's your turn make that 49ers defense Elite again Jake Moody make field goals all year finish off games if we need you to this your second year you got a season under your belt you got a lot of you got some big shoes to F Robbie Gold did some good work for us Robbie go did some work for us man hey we're counting on you you're important you're important we we counting on you knocked them we could have won a couple games last year a couple more man when you get to that kick to win that game knock it down baby knock it down we trust in you baby we trust in you other than that the roster intact we have a Super Bowl championship roster it's super bowl or bus Niners Super Bowl or bus I'm sure every 49er fan can agree with that it isn't no oh let's get better let's try to win 10 games this year let's see if we can win the NFC West no it's super bowl or bust that's it nothing else if we don't win the division fine let's let's let's try and do that but fine we go to a wild card win that let's win three games in NFC let's get to that bowl and let's take care of business Cal Shanahan Brock pie we need that quarterback coach relationship to tighten up to tighten up you see Andy Reid and momes that relationship is tight Ziploc we need that that pre those pre- snap reads pie hopefully you've been in the film room that's the that's the most you can do for us build up chemistry with your guys you've been throwing passes to the same same group of guys your whole career get stay in in that fil that film room that pre- snap that's what separates the men from the mice that's where you can get better you probably can't throw the ball any further any faster you ain't going to get no more speed you ain't going to get no taller but that film room you can always increase the knowledge the knowledge is never ending get in that film room know what that linebacker going to do know what that safety going to do read that defense pre snap as well as after the snap but pre- snap we need that I look at our schedule let me take a look at the schedule man let's let's take a look we got the New York Jets week one Aaron Rogers is practically still in his first season as a jet they got a lot of X ners over there we don't got to name them they got a they got a pretty talented team they could probably come out the NFC East uh or the AFC East um I know they challenging the Dolphins this year I will say they they'll be challenging the Dolphins this year I look at this at this we played the AFC East and we play the NFC North and I think that's that's formidable we got some playoff rematches Green Bay Packers Detroit Lions those those will be good test good test good teams over there hungry teams over there we got to go to Lambo we got to go see Jordan and Lambo Jordan love in Lambo uh we take care of business in Lambo though no doubt about it but looking at this this I could see a easy 12 and five I'm I'm I'mma humbly say 12 and five we got a hungry Dallas team coming to town we got a Chiefs team coming to town backto back weeks I know Dallas got something to prove Dallas for sure got something to prove after that beating we put down on them it sounded terrible to me put a beating down on them touchdown San Francisco I'll be all right with them beating us not never all right with Dallas beating us Kansas City we need that that'll be a good confidence Builder we we get a w against Kansas City that's a little tough stretch right there because we see we see Gino Smith in the Seahawks at Seattle then we got to come back and play the Chiefs and the Cowboys that's probably our toughest stretch throughout the season Seattle Green Bay Buffalo Chicago Rams Dolphins that's actually that's a pretty tough stretch too you know we can't sleep on the Rams we can't sleep on you know they won a Super Bowl not too long ago we can't sleep on the Rams they they going to get it together they're always competitive I believe they get it together the Dolphins they are who they are Caleb Williams Chicago Bears he's got some weapons to work with we going to go go up against the young bull the Buffalo Bills Josh Allen in Buffalo in December that's going to be a chil one and then Green Bay another that' be a little chilly late November then Seattle so that that's probably a pretty tough stretch too right there and then Detroit follows oh yeah that late that late season stretch is going to be tough for us I'm seeing 12 and five realistically 12 and five challenging for the NFC West I don't I'm not threatening by Seattle too much the Cardinals the Rams they they can probably Seattle could probably challenge us too but 12 and five coming out the NFC West number one but not with a buy that's just my realist realistic expectations of the ners but Super Bowl or bus no doubt about it I got Philly Philly probably number one seed and uh maybe we'll meet up with them in uh NFC Championship in Philly I like that rematch I really like that that'll be a good that' be a good little match up if we if we can get Philly coming out number one seed in the NFC we go through the first second round get to them in Philly Philly Niners NFC Championship rematch we need that we need that down San Francisco so 12 and five is my expectations that's my prediction super Bower bus top five defense top five offense individual rewards I don't we don't need any of those maybe Nick Bosa Defensive Player of the Year Fred Runner defensive player of the year but offense CMAC I want you to chill I need you you got 21 touches a game last year let's let's get let's get you 18 Debo let's dial that down a little bit let's D at let's let's see what the young Bulls can do auk I want you to play up to your contract though auk I want you when you get on that field and you ready to go full full go I need you to play up to that contract py I need you to play Elite throughout the season too so pery aay y'all too that qb1 wide receiver one combo we need that running hot all year we need that with trit Williams blocking we need that definitely we need kiddo I mean you damn near stuck like our dep at tight end is ugly ugly like whoa we ain't never been really too deep at tight end but now it's bad it's bad um but that's pretty much it man like top five offense top five defense 12 and five NFC West champions headed to the Super Bowl against whoever comes out the AFC we Super Bowl champs that's my expectations that's it I'm enjoy I'm enjoy this regular season I'm not going to stress too much game to game I know we're making it to the playoffs I know that I know that so it's nothing to stress about game to game you know once the game's over I'mma look it over you know if we take a l I'm I'mma review the game but I'll be over it by Tuesday or Wednesday I'm not going to letay any losses hang on me because I know we'll be in the postseason but we have to get to that Super Bowl and we have to win anything other than a Super Bowl victory is a fail with this roster that window's closing that window is is beginning to close a little bit the only way to stop it from closing is to build up young talent to push that window back up right now we got p on discount you feel me per on discount right now but we need like the kles KD he's down to the end of his rope he's getting there Trent Williams got a season or two left um Debo we don't we never know Debo play So Physical we never know what could happen CMAC he's been healthy his whole time in San Fran we gotta keep that up iuk play up to your contract Dre green law get back healthy Ricky Ricky paaw get back healthy um Ronaldo green take that spot man come and get it it's yours it's yours for the taken Tonga um I said Tonga hunga All Pro All Pro it's yours it's all pro baby Leonard Floyd 10 sacks agent D in but we still need 10 sacks right side of the old line man man this is garbage I don't know what to say about y'all man hopefully that hopefully there's a disgruntled tackle somewhere who wants out and we can go and get him like that's what I'm really I'm hoping John Lynch got a plan like we're really aggressive in season we we we make tra like it's the NBA we're aggressive hopefully there's a disgruntled right tackle or left tackle or even a Right Guard that wants out that's tired and a team just wants to give up here take this fifth round draft pick give him to us cuz we need to improve that's the that's what worries me the most I like Ronaldo green at corner I think at some point he will become the starter over there or at least at the slot but we didn't address that that right side
