GT FB: Aidan Birr Media Availability (2024 Fall Camp - July 29)

Intro okay uh we'll go ahead and start with Aiden bur R coach brunfield talked about you know but confidence is needed to be a good kicker uh did you have it from the get-go when you know that first time you went out there or did it improve as the season went on I think it it definitely improves as the season goes on but you have to rely on your process and your Rhythm and routine and that's something you know all the kicks I did in the off season and then you know throughout the week that build your confidence you get that uh the process down Jackson you hit the really long field goal in the spring game is that something you feel like you can do pretty regularly this year uh yeah you know if the conditions are good I think I can uh definitely you know hit some long ones but you know having Henry and David in the line there you know that's big uh you know I can't make the kicks without them so I definitely think I can make him though I want to ask you about your ink you very tatto Centric it seems very Tattoos themed as well just kind of what's the story behind the ink uh just you know my uh me and my family were always watched inkmas you know growing up so like I was always like kind of I like tattoos and like David Beckham you know all these athletes got tattoos so like when I got to college my parents were always like you got to wait till you're 18 and like I was hurt my freshman year so like when the team would travel I was just like I'm going to go get a tattoo so like every like Friday I would go get tattoos and like I'm just building up uh some some good art right now but hope to get some more right behind you um coach brumfeld Mental makeup was talking about your psyche I guess your mental makeup just walk us through the ball is snapped you're about to kick that ball what's going through your head yeah I'm just like a leaning on the process leaning on you know my God and everything you know throughout that I mean it's 1.3 seconds so not A lot's going through the head but you know I'm just leaning on that process how about before s before you go out there yeah I mean I'm running from you know I kind of have a long run out you know like the pitcher or whatever you know the field goal gets yeah you know it gets wider the closer you get so you know I'm running out there just saying that in my head over time like lean on the process lean on God and you know once I'm there I'm the last person there I can go quick as I want you know I want to be down there and go fast so I'm not you know there's nothing to think about I'm not looking up I'm not you know I'm just ready to go timing is important you know between you and Henry and and David um I imagine Henry has a pretty good idea that now Timing that you want to get out there right away and make sure everyone's lined up pretty quick and and ready to go is that the way you like to do it yeah I like to go out there and uh like I'll wait till everybody's set and then I like I'm the last person something there like I think I was rewatching the UCF the bowl game and the the announcer was like What would we don't see Burr yet or like something kind of like that but you I was running on the field I like to be the last guy out there like when I get down like we're ready to go like let's go Kell you know after your leg injury and having all that time to sit and think and not play and does it make you Success appreciate that much more like the success you've had and even like the spring game and all of that stuff 100% because like you know I obviously like I thought I was going to come in here and get that opportunity right away and just you know send that year and learning behind you know Gavin and Jude like learning how to do or how to be a Collegian athlete all that stuff like it helps so much and uh it just makes it that much better that now I get to you know all the hard work from that year is you I get to do it now is are the kickoffs something you're interested in doing or you you know you Kickoffs just want to do uh you know field goals and extra points I I definitely want to uh do kickoffs I uh been working on a lot this summer uh you know last year was just uncharacteristic like you know I felt like uh just didn't I just didn't do them a lot during the week and that's just you know uncalled for on my part but uh you know you feel like you know when you're just kicking field goals and extra points you know you're not getting the full game you know when you do the kickoff the extra point the field goal you're you finish the game you feel good after I don't know if that makes sense but like for me like I want to have all all of them you know it's just it's kind of what I want to do that's what the pros do So Co I asked uh David about this but Coach Salem what is coach Salem like it seems like he's pretty intense with you guys every day we're out there he's he's working you guys hard on the side yeah coach Salem is uh I love a guy I mean he's just like he's something new for us like you know we used to just kind of like stand out there but now like he's like oh come over here like you know he has that voice that raspy voice but uh I love him I mean it's just like we're spring over here oh now now he wants to kick field goals over here and now we're snapping and it's just something new keeps us on our toes so he's uh and you know the meetings are funny with him because like you know he's been coaching forever and like you know I think he was like the offensive coordinator and key was a ga at UCF so like he'll tell us all these stories so it's pretty funny awes we we'll wrap up on that so Aiden appreciate wait a second who's so who's
