what's going on everyone Chris fromp pick dogs.com here are the free picking the Pittsburgh Pirates versus Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball matchup going down Monday August 26 2024 just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribe to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets the games that I love including my daily $19 best bet head on over to pick dogs.com and click the premium picks tab at the top of the page but let's get to this one between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs the Pittsburgh Pirates sending out Mitch Keller for the start in this one while the Cubs will counter with Jameson tyion and you know Mitch Keller coming off a great start against the Texas Rangers last time out it was seven Innings a three hit shutout baseball nine strikeouts no walks and the nice thing is for Keller is that that start was on the road where Keller's had some issues this season and I mean in the two starts prior to that start against Texas Keller had given up 15 runs on 15 hits over nine innings at work against the Padres and the Dodgers on the road so it was a nice change of pace for Keller but now Keller gets to go back home where he has pitched his Better Baseball this season you know as you know Standalone he's two excuse me five- two with a 2.58 erra a 228 opponent's batting average more importantly his team has actually backed him up at home you look at Mitch Keller and the games that he hosted at home basically since the end of May Keller's pitched really well at PNC Park you know the uh the Pirates seven- one as a team in Keller's last eight starts at home you know Keller the majority of those he's gone into the seventh inning and given up two earned runs or less and you know the Pirates are just playing well behind him at PNC park and that's saying something because you know the thing about Mitch Keller is that the majority of his starts this season more often than not have come on the road so I think getting back home here is going to help Mitch Keller especially against the Cubs team that hasn't necessarily been all that consistent yeah they had a nice series against the Miami Marlins but re realistically who hasn't and even some of the games they were winning against you know the Detroit tigers and the ton Blue Jays they weren't scoring a ton of runs in those games and quite frankly the Cubs have to be scoring runs because jamus and tyion has not been anything special over the last month I mean in his last three starts alone tyone has allowed 13 runs over 16 Innings of work you know posting a Skyhigh ER in those three starts close to nine and he's actually given up at least four runs in four of his last five starts I mean you know tyone has been getting absolutely roughed up and I think that this could be a bit of a tricky spot for him here against a pirates team that yes the offense is inconsistent at times but you look at their numbers in the last you know almost the last month against right-handed pitching basically in the uh in the month of August you know the Pirates have had some issues but they're still hitting 236 against right-handed pitching you know the Cubs yeah you know their numbers are are better in in terms of batting average and team Ops but I think that there's a glaring Edge in starting pitching here and even the bullpen the Pirates bullpen in the last two weeks has been the best in baseball a 1.62 staff erra out of the bullpen so I'm going to go with the Pittsburgh Pirates in this one at the coin flip price and that's going to be my free pick but just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribe to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my best bet you can find those a pick dogs premium wire pick dogs check out our betting tools they're 100% free they're the best betting tools in the business and tools that you want to make sure that you have in your back pocket when you're making your Best Bets for the day's action thanks for watching see you guys soon
