Danke Seb: Drivers Say Farewell To Sebastian Vettel

part shoot with a great sense of humor who just makes your love Formula One all over again Seb is part of my career I think because we we share so many good years together on fighting for championships you'll move on uh Fernando I can tell you what a big set of balls to go with wheel to wheel with him through woodcuts I mean that was move as a move of the racer and even when we were not fighting for Championship which seemed to to fight for seventh or ninth or whatever but always together so you know I will miss him a lot [Music] I think back to 2013 and him winning every race in the second half of the season and it was kind of like he could have coasted and could have kind of gone on holiday mode but I feel like not only did he want to beat the competition he wanted to destroy the competition and and in a competitive sense like you have to admire that and respect that Sebastian fatal wins in India wins in 2013. fantastic you're a four-time world champion he has been a very good friend through it all and and cared and I now see him as a friend first and and competitor second and uh yeah he's just done some really nice things that yeah I'll never forget I really enjoyed uh you know two years with Sabby's not an incredible career four-time world champion he's been incredible in the car but uh outside the car he's you know been a real class sack feels like he's a bit more than just the racing driver what he does outside is true inspiration to all what he has achieved in F1 has a racing driver is just outstanding definitely part of the top five most successful driving the old history of the sports but I think what is done also on the side and of the track is uh as respectful always regulated the right values and as other very positive impact on all the paddock and all the people and on me personally I'm very grateful for for the advices yet before I joined Formula One so yeah huge respect for fun it's a fair but hard driver page Sebastian Vettel goes onto the grass this time Sebastian Federal on the inside does manage to get past valterry botask really talented and she's got big passion for the sport but also I mean great values in life more than that of the track I feel like he really has stand up for us drivers in terms of safety in terms of things that were important for us to be to be fighting for he has been in a way a bit that that we need we all need for the drivers and I hope he remains you know close to uh to the Formula One Paddock for the future I've grown very fond of him and uh he's uh yeah he's a he's a like a like a dad uh in some ways to me though as my uh for Alice was to food is in sport about Michigan is [Music] foreign except has meant a lot to formula one but also to this team of course you know the first four championships they they won together this has been impressive things I've ever seen battle you are the world champion thank you I love you and one thing I will never forget is um I came back from Silverstone hospital and I went back to my motor room to collect all my stuff and he was there waiting and he asked me like hey Max how are you doing he stayed there you know just check on me and these kind of things basically you know describe him he's a very nice caring person and he really means well I think him for everything he's done I've Loved racing against him I'll hopefully enjoy racing against him one more time but I think everyone in Formula want to be driver owes a lot to him for for the amount that he's up to spot I remember in 2017 when I was in in Formula 2 and that he had sent me a letter for thanking me for all the hard work I was doing on the simulator that meant really a lot at the time for me being in Formula 2 being acknowledged by such a legend in Formula One I thought what I was doing was pointless in a way but after that letter I understood how important it was to him and that made a big difference for me but apart from that I think he's just an incredible person he will be missed in The Paddock for sure by by many obviously for the driver he is and for everything he has achieved in Formula One but not only also for the person that he is how genuinely nice he is and he was whenever we were teammates well you know I just had a a great fight with him in in Austin Sebastian United States Grand Prix has he got the move done no not quite now he's got the move done the fireworks are going up and on the track Sebastian Federal still giving his explosive action Sebastian Ferrell comes home to finish eight yes baby you know great battle on track of course I lost out so I was uh I was annoyed after the race but still it was a a nice you know certainly the best moment I've had with Sev uh on track actually we've been waiting with him many times by fighting for the team and on track so it's yeah it's always Fair no no Collision so far with me so yeah it's obviously sad to see him leaving Formula One are such a true legend for the sport but then obviously had them I'm sure that he will enjoy something else and he'll be still around the paddock in the future helmet back in my days when I was you know 12 13 that's that's all he would ever talk about was that he was uh he was his number one fan I actually remember I did a casting race and I won it and he called me up and he said let's have won that race and that was it that's all you told me I said okay so I guess in some ways service always had a an important role in my life which I'm all the best for his time away from formula one and whatever Endeavors he decides to pursue next I hope um he could spend a lot of time with family I know he cares a lot about that yeah when I wish him a very happy retirement and we might see him soon back soon except we will miss you here I know that you will come back as I did so see you very soon formula has a way of sucking you back in and we've noticed that from so many other drivers so here kind of accepting yes it's your last race but he'll be back thank you [Music] [Applause]
