all right so I have to returned with your daily dose of all things Warhammer Space Marine 2 news and updates and we've got our first wave of updates coming up here very soon and the devs give us an idea of what is going to be improving first in September and something really cool is headed to the battle Bars by the way plus the dev team took a closer look at Community ideas including will we actually see lightning claws what about the Pyro blaster in PvP and PVE will we see PVP party size increased to six what about blood Raven 20th anniversary cosmetics and customizing Titus in the single player campaign well we've got a bunch of brand new responses about these from the dev team so yeah we'll dive into that and how long will Space Marine 2 actually last will it Outlast hell divers 2 for example and don't forget yes I'm giving away a copy of Space Marine 2 for those of you that are holding out so see that pinned top comment but we got to dive in here and talk about those first updates head to the game here's the headlines Space Marine 2 is first patches to fix crashes and controller issues with ultrawide support on the way I know that's been kind of like a big concern but I also did some digging as well and headed on over to steamdb and went to the branches section of the updates and as you can see right here we have a bunch of test branches being updated and it looks to me they're looking to potentially release a day one patch that they are currently prepping right now now they did give some indication as to what to expect from this in a new Dev update and a quick note about the most common issues yes they are aware of the controversy around the Epic online services client they did explain that previously already that that is for crossplay but yeah we're talking about game crashes game crash on first cinematic of course controllers support infinite loading crash when launching operations connectivity issues on PS5 they say we aim to fix all these issues in our first patches but I do expect some sort of blog post to be headed our way eventually but when it comes to ual content typee updates in September we do have yes of course private PVE lobbies coming up here and the battle bars is getting a sparring Arena which should be really really cool and then of course we have season uh one is going to be the ultra Marines cosmetic pack so that's going to be a lot of fun to check out in September here and if you're also wondering hey Robbie when is this actually happening well they did make some comments here that's going to be happening the first weeks after release they go on to say the launch of Space Marine 2 is only the start of our journey together with season 1 and the first weeks after launch we'll focus on collecting your feedback across all Community channels to bring some quick adjustments and improvements through quick patches then we will start our season two now once I have like a firm date for this I will keep you guys in the know about that of course as always you can count on it and we are going to be getting some maintenance this weekend by the way so you've been warn it says any word on joining server getting stuck and the response is this saber are working on it there's a maintenance schedule for this weekend I imagine they would schedule that out for a period of time when a lot of players aren't online so I wouldn't be too worried about it so yeah but then again expect some maintenance for the game before release Also let's talk about this one PVP party side it says either way it would be great if we can Squad up with five people so an entire team in PvP doesn't feel too good being left out of the PvP with my homies because of the three player Squad cap there response is this can't disagree with that I'll see if that's something being planned for the future and they did go on to mention hey if you guys want to see this sort of thing you got to upload the idea out on the focus Community forums so yeah I'm going to throw a link in the description below if this is a big concern for you guys get out there let your voice be heard because it does seem like they are definitely paying attention we also got to talk about this right here I know a lot of you guys would love to see it adding lightning claws as melee weapons we do have a Dev response here says this a lightning Claw is a specialized type of power weapon most commonly used by Space Marine assault and Terminator squads it consists of a powered Gauntlet fitted with three to five razor sharp adamantium blades each with a miniature power weapon sheath in a matter disrupting power field enabling them to carve through armor and flesh with ease lightning claws are a standard melee weapon primarily utilized by battle brothers of adaptus estaris the demon hunting inquisitors of the ordera malice and Chaos Space Marines even a single claw would be awesome two claws might require too much class rework so just having a single claw would be greatly appreciated look at that I think Wolverine would love this sort of thing now uh the dev team also agrees to say nice to have and they say this hello we're thinking about adding new weapons however the development of new weapons can involve a large workload we'll take this suggestion into account for the live plan but it sounds like it's something that would you know of course take quite a bit of time but it seems like hey they're also fans of Wolverine and they have peing this as something that they are definitely interested in so maybe down the road we could see this happen now we also have this one please make the Pyro blaster or heavy flamer a weapon in PVE and PVP here's the thread it says I was absolutely static when I saw the pyrro Blaster was going to be in the game but was also slightly worried that it would be a campaign exclusive I would absolutely love to use it in PVE and PVP modes as flamethrowers are awesome as everyone knows however if this is not the case I would still love to see a Firebase weapon in these game modes heavy flamer and it's been wishlisted and that's a bit different than nice to have it says the wishlist status is given by the dev team to Idis they would like to have in the game so they definitely agree says hello thanks for the suggestion this is not something we plan to have on the short term but we'll see if it would fit later on remember there is going to be a horde mode added to this game so I would think that this weapon would tie very nicely into that sort of addition if that's kind of how they're thinking it through that makes total sense also add PVP crossplay for PC and consoles scroll on down I don't understand why it's a needed thing if consoles don't want to play with PCS they can just turn it off in the settings and vice versa and also this lack of communication about such an important setting for some is actually crazy especially when this is only communicated at the last 6 days before Early Access release now they did Mark it as nice to have but here's the response hello PVP crossplay for PC and console has not been implemented for fairness and balancing purposes we will consider this option later in the live Ops planning but is it on the top of their priority list right now I'm not too sure but a lot of you guys have friends that are on PC and you really really want to be able to just have the leniency to be able to hop on a PVP game mode with your buddies that are on PC so I totally absolutely get this for sure now we also have Blood Ravens 20th anniversary cosmetics and these are really cool looking we got some images in just a moment says please consider adding Cosmetics for the Blood Ravens due to their 20th anniversary which is in 2024 it doesn't have to be something big but the classic badge perhaps a helmet or armor piece would be nice considering that Space Marine one had a be skin that was locked to PC pre-order and PS3 this would be very kind also Squad corvis helped Titus having his armor in MKX in multiplayer would be great please consider look at this looks totally badass would love to see it love the emblem as well yeah they got to add this for sure marked as nice to have by the dev team by the way and say hello we'll discuss about this for the live plan and that's all they have to say but it seems like they will actually be mentioning it in some regard here in the future also peson Titus in campaign yeah this is something that I actually wanted it says I think it would be a small but welcome addition to the game maybe even as a reward for finishing the campaign to be able to customize titus's armor color Etc and possibly the squad makes armor as well especially since this is what some people include me would look to mods for in the first game and it has been marked as nice to have here's the commentary from the devs it says hi apart from the pre-ordered DLC Titus is not customizable but this is still a good idea we may take into consideration for the future and I'm going to put my two cents in here as well I think that this probably would be lower priority because the campaign is only 6 hours and I think a lot of you guys once you are done with the campaign would move on to cooperations and PVP however it's not to say that it won't happen it's just I think it would be lower priority unless they have something ready to go or they it was work in progress and just didn't make it into the game and they could quickly get it in there down the road yeah then maybe just maybe it could happen in that way but you know since we're on the subject of the campaign I thought it would be a perfect segue to talk about this right here real talk veteran difficulty is terrible with the AI Bots and animation locks it goes on to say this not sure how the devs intend the player to get through the game without being completely frustrated on this difficulty there is hard and then there is impossible half the time you're supposed to defend something the AI Bots do nothing to assist you you're usually left to deal with Elites in combat but wait you can't because the Bots aren't watching your back as you try to take them out additionally what's up with the animation locking you out from defending yourself in the middle of an execution Etc even pares really don't work well as they usually make you vulnerable to other attacks again the game should be difficult not frustrating and the animations in AI are making it very much frustrating devs need to tweak the AI to not be useless and they need to add invincibility to the animations or make them shorter and faster the big one for me out of this is yeah you get locked into the animation but you still take a ton of damage that is so frustrating and there are certain cases with animations where I wish I can cancel out of it and perform a parry and you just cannot and that's also frustrating so I think they do need to revisit the melee combat system and they need to update this down the road and make it a bit smoother we'll see their plans on this one the thing is of course you don't want to make it like overly easy because that could be a turnoff for like hardcore players I've seen that happen with uh recent games where they just keep making it easier and easier and easier so that's not what I'm saying here I just feel like they need to make it more responsive now I wanted to talk about this because I definitely want to see this after playing the campaign how unreasonable would it be ask for versions of campaign missions to be retooled and added to operations after the campaign is complete I asked because with six missions it seems like it'll get old real quick and apart from making sure that assault doesn't cheat the level geometry and coming up with some way of handling the jump hack sections of the campaign across doesn't cheat the level geometry and coming up with some way of handling the jumpack sessions of the campaign across classes most of the work is already done H maybe that's the intention that could actually be the intention for sure but who knows but I totally agree there are so many cool campaign moments where I'm thinking man damn this would make very cool uh Co-operative operations you know so I I say they give it a go and try it out also the dev time on that would be shorter I would think instead of having to like constantly develop new uh operations and what they could really do is give us those campaign cooperations in between the bigger operations that they're kind of like maybe developing from scrap so maybe that's an idea that they can actually embrace in terms of development Making Things release quicker now let's head on over to the forms because there is a question that is extremely important for this type of game how long will Space Marine 2 last and live says hello everyone let's discuss this question how long will the game live after release to answer this question let's take the game Warhammer 40K Space Marine 1 if anything I had 1,800 hours in this game so the game is almost alive as the emperor on The Golden Throne she's alive due to PVP mode until now many players enter Space Marine one every night just for the PVP and many of these players were a guild tag I remember when the game was at its peak there was 8 versus 8 gwg fights every week I think many guilds will want to remember Past Times and come to Space Marine 2 but what a awaits Us in Space Marine 2 six versus six fights the developers are not even funny the simplest Guild in Space Marine 1 consisted of at least 15 people what conclusion can be drawn if the developers do not make a separate battle mode for at least 8 to 10 people then Space Marine 2 will not live long don't get me wrong it would be very very cool to see a bigger battle mode for sure but I don't think the game will live or die based on that alone we have some replies here some people giving their two cents check it out says I mean there's operations that act like an additional Co-Op campaign that'll receive more missions during updates but I agree there should be more game modes or larger lobbies but we also have this as well only PVP in our hearts more attention to PVP so it definitely does seem like definitely you guys want to see those bigger game modes the only problem with that is there's a couple game modes currently in the game and they all cater towards a certain Lobby size and that's when you get very very conf complicated and you could kind of spread thin the community through all these modes and that's one way a game could die in multiplayer very very quickly kind of like half the audience and then people are having trouble finding each other as the game progresses as it gets older and people are jumping off the game going to other games you really want to try to make the game sustainable by having one size for the multiplayer that would be very surprised if they did this then again the recent Starship Troopers game they added a very big mode but they kind of like did it in a way they're doing like a whole new type of like launch I guess you would say with it so maybe like if they did that years down the road I could see that sort of thing being possible to really bring in a new audience into a new way of playing the game but mentioning you know PVP we also have to talk about this right here so we got to head back on over to Reddit it says I like the PVP generally but can a brother get some better spawns and shows him right here spawning in here and just instantly getting wrecked this one thing that I noticed that they do also need to update the actual spawn system so that's definitely something they need to get on now it says Focus please add more helmet and armor variations I'm dying for the mk7 helmet look at this yes I noticed that there there are some helmets in the game but we need way more you know considering customization is such an important thing in this game I want to see more for sure also space Mar 2 is on real PVP is far better than I expected it seems weird we don't have 1K Suns as a Chaos Faction though yeah definitely in 619 upboats and it seems like the plan is to really double down on Cosmetics for sure so I do expect them to take a peek at that but you got to get your ideas out there on that Focus Community if you want to see that sort of thing and upload it to get visibility now we also got to go over you guys your top comments so yeah leave a comment down below if end Marine 2 but let's do this says 135,000 in Early Access is staggering that's going to be at least one order of magnitude higher once the proper launch day comes I cannot wait see what happens when September 9th rolls around I am so damn curious dude we will see how this one performs against hell divers 2o as well I know I keep mentioning that it's not the same exact type of game but I'm seeing a lot of the hell divers Community peeking in on this one going hm what is going on over here now we also have if you're on PC turn off crossplay it stabilizes the game no forever loading screen so that seems to be helping a lot of people now we also have I've been having an absolute blast with the game last night I played the first few campaign missions with one of my close real life friends as my battle brother and I won a good few multiplayer matches as well hell yes that's the thing you know this game is definitely the Ultimate Party type game you could bounce around from the story to the PVP if you get bored of that hey let's check out PVE and then back to the story so that is really really nice I have a question by the way do you guys want to see new like story campaign missions added perhaps as an expansion I do think that would be really cool and and what's this it says only problems I've encountered is a bug on the mission where you've got to defend the chains of an elevator enemies can shoot through the objects which is an absolute nightmare yikes I did not experience that one thankfully now someone commented about the melee in PvP isn't the best but as a bull workk you are almost Invincible when blocking to the melee them when they need to reload it's great fun man going up against a bull workk dude that is a challenge but I will say the Vanguard is is a pain in the ass in PvP multiplayer they just whip in kind of like stagger you and you are fighting for your life and it's really the one reason you have to stick together as a team so you can defend off against those sort of attacks but anyway there it is delays happenings around Space Marine 2 I will keep you guys in the know and update look at this swarm dear God but uh yeah keep those comments
