NFL Overtime Rules Change for Playoffs!

[Music] nasa's you know we're talking a little bit about nfl we're gonna dive into it um um one thing i know my boy josh allen is happy about this um nfl changer rule um so now both teams get a possession of the ball but this is only for the playoffs okay so now it's not going to be decided by the touring you know coin toss and who starts and who finishes each team gets the ball back if the other team scores um what are your thoughts on that mike i have a lot of thoughts first off the viewers want to hear let's let's go first off i don't know if he's happy he's probably sitting there like i would be like oh now you make that decision it takes me playing one of the best games ever losing them to my homes and the chiefs for you to make this ruling you couldn't have done this you know 10 years ago oh so i feel you i'm sure he's happy to some degree but you know at the end of the day they probably feel like hey we could have won a super bowl uh that's unfortunate and i know he's your boy so uh you know that was one of the most entertaining games that i've ever seen so props to josh for that incredible game now number two i've been kind of following this closely because you know as you know i grew up a brefar fan and in 2010 he was with the vikings and they went into overtime with the saints and this was the winner of that game went to the super bowl to face the uh to face your boy peyton manning and the colts and i was convinced that vikings team was the best team in the league all year but what happened was there the saints won a coin toss there's a couple of real you know ticky tack penalties saints kicked the field goal went right to the super bowl so back then it was the field goal rule right after that in march they were like nah we're gonna change it to where you score a touchdown right so then fast forward to 2015. packers are back in the nfc championship game they're playing the uh the seahawks yeah and what happens end of the game is madness right you know wilson leads a touchdown drive gets a two-point conversion rogers go right down the field ties the game seattle wins the toss and then wrestles those two 35-yard passes and they go to the super bowl rodgers never touches the ball they don't change the rule and then in 2019 mahomes and brady are having an incredible battle it's 31 all they win the toss new england they go down the field my homes never touches the ball absolutely so so now it took like and these are just off the top of my dome that's three games and then now it's fourth one that's four times four legendary games that could have been even greater if they just had the foresight to say hey like why don't we just get both teams the balls it's not that complicated that's how i feel um i'm with you on that um i think there's a long time coming i'm a huge college um football fan so i've always been like you know this is why i love college this is why i love college you know because personally everybody should get a chance the calling talks should not decide you know the same way i think the chiefs um in some fashion i don't want to say lucky but and somewhat some sense you know i had a little bit of luck with the coin toss because if josh allen gets this ball back you know and you know afc championship might be bengals and um you know bills instead you know and that might be a whole different scenario because you know how i love my boy josh allen you know um i think it's a long time coming to nfl needs this um i i personally wish it comes down to you know the whole season not just the you know postseason um because you know at the end of the day it's still the same game just because it's a post season and then regular season doesn't change it's not soccer and then it turns into football it's both football you understand so i think we should we should we should try to you know hopefully they they push it to a point where it can get down to you know the whole season throughout the season and even pre-season you know let these guys play no ties in nfl i stand for that now that should be the next no ties hey one day but but listen there are people out there that think hey listen all the defense has to do is make one stop but and those are usually the defensive players former defensive players that say that and i understand their point i respect that but at the end of the day what did i those examples that i gave there were hall of fame legendary quarterbacks all over there okay absolutely and josh allen just kidding the thing is is that they're all like of course you want them to have the ball you think the defensive players on uh buffalo wanted to go out there you know they wanted josh allen to have the ball so like that's what we have to realize it's like yeah you could try to make that argument but nah man you want to put the ball in your offenses hands it depends if you have jimmy garoppolo i say no oh personally but here you hear me out i think when it comes to the coin toss when it's a do or die you know i think you always got to put it in um what you trust more like for example if the saints are playing the niners you got to ask yourself who's going to be the quarterback is it going to be drew brees or jameson winston if it's winston let's send the niners b out there if it's going to be drew brees who take our chances on jimmy g and kyle shanahan's play calling so i think that's where you know uh mikhana came down yeah you're right most teams will probably bank on their office but there are certain teams that their defense give them a better their defense are you know at a better advantage of stopping um somebody's um best offensive date then they putting up you know like the jets i would trust the judge ichi on their defense i don't know who's ever gonna be you know on offense for them you know unfortunately um i hope my team doesn't get like that because it would be sad i mean we're close with our quarterback situation but we're not there yet today yeah i saw a new commercial with jimmy gq the other day did you see that subway yeah eat fresh yeah yeah um yeah he he's gonna be eating fresh somewhere else not in uh not in the bay
