hello and welcome to Austin Texas one of our favorite stops on the tour and today Daryl K royal stadium is packed and revved up ready to make noise for the Texas Longhorns today it's a top 25 matchup two teams off to good starts hoping to build on that and test themselves against another ranked team as we'll see the number 11 team in the country the Florida Gators taking on the second ranked team the Texas long Wars 3A sports college football I'm Chris F here in the booth with Kirk her street I think we've talked long enough Kirk let's get this game going [Applause] 29 29 pH and it's incomplete the defender arrived the same time as the football and now it's second down I'm not sure the quarterback makes the right decision on this one I think if he do it over again he would have found a different Target downfield but he made his decision that one's incomplete Breaking Free at the 35 that'll pick up a first they'll spot it at the 38 just underway and this home crowd is fired up and ready to make a difference today dropping back it's Merz that one Falls incomplete good defensive play BRS up second down what a hit there by the defender tough for the receiver hold on to the football but he has that kind of contact good clean play by the defense caught in the back field it's web and Runner brought down but looks like there's a flag on the field let's see what this is about so the holding penalty in the offense backs him up 10 yds here's the second down play quarterback sets up looking for an open man short throw complete to the tight end to get him down quickly not much of a gain on that completion important third down play coming up after that completion and he'll set up to throw here's a fumble way behind the line of scrimmage no turnover offense recovers the fumble now the offense catches a break here lucky to jump on the ball after coughing it up one man at the back field and he'll get the football tackled behind the line it's a loss of two that's a great Play All Around by this defense your first level Defenders hold their own at the point of attack allowing the second and third level players to roam free and make the tackle close to the line of scrimmage that's a nice tackle there by the senior Christino the spread era over the years has always grown offensively but what I've been always impressed with the defenses that really build their defense to play in space still have an ability to be sound at the line of scrimmage and defend a steps up and makes an impact play great call here going with that nickel defense giving you more speed on the field and that third [Applause] down on the ready 55 looking for a gap it's Johnson tackled behind the line it's a loss of two what's the play call here on second down for this [Applause] offense drops back from the shotgun looking for an open man grab down the middle it's Burke defense reacts quickly a very short gain on the play offense been in in Reverse here now a long way to go to convert this third down dropping back they're going to throw for the first down theyve got him defense comes up with a sack I can't believe the amount of pressure this defense is getting on this quarterback sack after sack well you got to think about changing things up the snap count the scheme anything at all to help this offensive line they're overmatched so far in this game ready let's go first play of the drive we're going to throw the football he pressure him and Sack him he'll be tackled inside the 10 I mean that's another sack Chris I mean we just getting started here first half you're already talking about giving up three sacks got to think about changing things up schematically help that offensive line and help that qu back the protection breaks down again backto back sacks if this team can hold on today and win this pass rush deserves all the credit in the world they have gotten after this quarterback so many times really every time the opposing offense does something positive it feels like a sack just stops any progress [Applause] okay look him out throwing here to start the drive catch made on the right side tackled quickly after the catch he'll be short of the marker back behind the quarterback line in the pistol they'll try the ground game here with the running back and they'll bring him down after just a short pickup they putted four times already on the first of a fit they can't convert this third down it's a draw to the back goes backwards losing three yards there tell you this defense continues to just be [Applause] physical got it 29 looking for a gap it's Johnson they'll tackle him at the 27 great jot by the offensive line here opening up some holes and giving the running back room to run on first down plays like this can open up the playbook for the play caller allow him to make that defense think are they going to run maybe play action maybe throw the ball down field goes backwards losing three yards there I mean Chris you have to admire this offense they continue to try to sprinkle in the Run game even though it's not been able to really get established but they're not just becoming onedimensional you got to respect that and hopefully at some point it'll pay off the offense finally producing here sets up a first and 10 what a clutch play Here by this offense to convert on third down I know it's still early in this game but that pass rush has trapped him into sack that's the two-minute warning let's see if this offense can do something before the break to cut into this big lead to throw it's Ms he's going to pull it down and run that's a nice scamble there a big gain but not enough for the first down the Gators come up to the line to crank the tempo up here drops back needing a third down completion here the junior able to get home with the sack this offens of line flat out cannot handle the pressure on the double 42 spider 42 first play of the drive they come out throwing he's going to be brought down by that ferocious pass rush nice sack the timeout is called to talk strategy close game here as we approach halftime this pass rush has been a problem another sack sets up second and long the pass rush closing in offense stops the clock with their second timeout to talk strategy well this is what happens when you get behind the chains Chris is people like to say this is an obvious passing situation it's really hard to bury things up and confus the defense this time the defensive line just came right in expecting the pass and blew up the play car by the on The Ready Set [Applause] first play of the drive they're going to throw the football down he goes a sack and just like that you squeeze the life out of this offense that's another sack by this defense they have been in that back field the entire game and a big reason why these guys are enjoying a lead went backwards on first down so second and long from the 24 back to throw it's Ms quarterback looks to his right and finds his man they bring him down after a solid gain but it's still well short of the first down marker drops back looking to throw for it on third down and he can't escape it's a sack for the defense well that takes the wind right out of your Sails this offense is trying to find a way to get back into this game and another pressure and a sack again [Applause] opening play of the drive quick throw to the left defense surrounds him just a short gain on that completion second down play coming up here's the snap quarterback looking to throw and the Freshman able to get home with the sack but Chris after another sack these guys are going to be facing another third down and long situation it seems like that's been the theme in this football game they cannot stay on schedule offensively making it very easy for the defense to get after the quarterback when you know he's in a must throw situation third down this offense could really use a conversion here down multiple scores here's the snap looking to throw nowhere to go here and the ball is knocked loose they scoop up the and that's going to be a safety man that is a big time play by this defense and the only way they can score points without getting a turnover actually give this team a spark [Music] [Music] come on set they're going to run it here goes backwards losing three yards there but how about this defense just so physical against the run these guys have not been able to do anything on the ground it's because of that defensive line and those linebackers taking away the Run game dropping back it's Merz he pressure him and Sack and he'll be tackled inside the 10 well you got to do a better job with your fake as a quarterback the defense did not bite at all on the play action allowing them to continue to come after the quarterback and come up with that sack now inerd and very long looking to throw boy that was close to a safety in fact I thought with that sack we might see the referee three step in there put the two hands over his head signaling that it was a safety but on the double here comes a first down pass attempt and a short pitch and catch to the tight end and the defense swarms not much of a game of that completion pass complete it's second down now grabb it second there quarterback drops back from the shotgun there's a loss after the completion that's a good play by the defense yeah Chris not an ideal play here when you throw the football and you go the wrong direction I think we got to look at the Playbook here to see how we can try to make those yards up the defender gets a hand in there to break the pass up so down by multiple possessions here the offense will try to convert here on fourth down well these guys just continue to struggle throwing the football you know whether it's been running the wrong route the quarterback not being accurate the offensive line not doing their job it's been a collective effort it's a big reason [Applause] why okay [Applause] ready 29 Philly first down looking to throw the ball physical defending that one Falls incomplete brings up second down Chris I thought he had his hands on that football I thought he was going to come down with it but give the defense all the credit with a big hit to knock that ball loose to the air it's MERS and this one is caught tackled pretty quickly but that is a decent gain on the throw well playing with the lead good job by this def [Applause] well Frank think K we hope for games that are a little bit more suspenseful this one got out of hand early ended up being a route that's putting it nicely Chris right
