all right man so obviously you made your first start of the season first start since 2020 last week I mean getting back in the lineup after that longer period of time is that just persistence paying off oh yeah man um there's just a lot of you know just focusing you know taking it day by day and you know just know that you know I'm on my fifth year you know it's they expect you know bigger things for me you know you know just being a leader things like that so um uh yeah um always had catching that means you know but I always try to work on that every day you know see I'm trying to get on the jugs so um I mean I'm just happy you know I can be used both ways you know running info they kind of become a thing in the running back room to be the first person out there when another running back scores I know it's probably I think was like the first person out there he's out there oh yeah no it was it was all good you know until we you know he earned those ribs know that he got in on him he made everything from this opportunity that he had so you know it was it was just good thing seeing him do what he do you know it was all good but even like when you scored I think he was the first person out there to celebrate with you is that become like a thing in the running back room oh yeah which is always always try to love you know and it's all love in that room you know we all competitors you know we made each other better every day you know even through fall Camp so you know just to supporting each other you know when we're on their field you know just having each other's back which celebrity talks about winning one-on-ones he wants the running backs to do that how do you think how do you improve upon that as a running back um it's just really you you play it here during practice you know so you can get it in real game aspects you know so when we're going to get Scouts you know everything should be full speed you know so so everything you're doing out here should be easy when you go out there but when they want winning one-on-ones you know for us you know it's real important you know make a good plays you've obviously been here longer than a lot of other guys in this locker room you've seen a lot of OU football I want to ask you about the defense and how they performed through two weeks does it feel like there's a difference this year than there has been in previous years no doubt um obviously you know this is second year in the system we know but uh you know um you know everybody's out there just having fun having boost you know and play you know doing what actually you know defense is supposed to do and man they you know they own it you know they had our backs you know less we can you know it was going through some UPS down with oh but they kept us in the game you know it was all good Target so many different options you need to kind of describe the command that he has of this offense this year yeah I know he's his balls coming out with confidence oh you know did you know he has a big command over the offense you know he's he's doing a good job you know Lee nice you know in every aspect but you know let's play records everywhere even you know through the outside you know in in the backfield as well as you can see it you know but I mean he's doing a good job with that you know he's you know keeping us on edge you know where we supposed to be you know and things like that so he's doing a good job obviously in-state guys we've been kind of cool this weekend to get up to Tulsa and play up there oh yeah no doubt that's always one to play it to us I never got to I'm sorry I never got to a high school but um it should be a good experience for me how confident are you feeling in your game right now I'm very confident but you know I can't never get satisfied with where I'm at because I keep getting better each day between all you guys in the running back room you know with how many guys there are in that group capable of contributing you feel like there's more balance there overall with the way you guys skill sets complement each other then maybe there has been in the past oh yeah no doubt um like I said it's a lot of talent in the group you know that we have right now so it's it's all good for everybody you know but um it's you know it's great and how'd it feel just to get in the end zone last Saturday oh no I felt good man I feel comfortable keep it going earlier and [Music] um you know made it a big emphasis so you know he done a great job yeah sure I feel like air force over here right now yeah um I mean Martin this is how we've been doing a great job in the spring and um they're showing you right now [Music] um
