here are five things I learned following Alabama's game against South Florida what's going on it's Kyle Henderson and Bama football on YouTube please hit the thumbs up if you roll tied let's jump right into it the right tackle position clearly needs to be fixed wilcom forby yesterday started at right tackle for the Alabama Crimson Tide absolutely struggled we're going to show you the Pro Football Focus grades of the offensive line as well as the entire team in just a minute I want to hear your suggestion for that right tackle position is it Elijah pritchet is it someone else clearly Alabama's offensive line a little bit banged up you were missing Kaden Proctor who is day to-day according to coach kalayan deor and Elijah pritchet didn't play until the fourth quarter I want to hear from you in terms of what do you think that Alabama should do at the right tackle position last night it just wasn't it the penalties 13 penalties for 120 yards now two seasons ago when Alabama dropped two games games that they were penalized over 10 times they didn't win now last night against South Florida it was back and forth I think that was one series it was completely aggravating where the two teams traded probably what was it like six penalties back to back it was sloppy football um for that most part now the first three quarters were completely different than that fourth quarter and we'll talk about that fourth quarter turnup but the penalties certainly have to improve and I think this is also a sign of a young team as we continue to look at this roster and the snap counts keep an eye on how many seniors and how many vets compared to the red shirt freshman that are starting for example we go back to wilc forby the guy's only a red shirt freshman right these are some big opportunities for these guys early on in the season I think that coach Kaylin dor will be able to tighten it up but we haven't seen that so far 13 120 penalty 120 penalty yards is just not going to cut it three turnovers usually penalties and turnovers will kill you um you had the turnover by Kendra GLA that was a fumble on the kickoff return on a beautiful kickoff return uh you also had Jan Miller fumble who is the last running back to Fumble besides him um I love the next play mentality though of jam Miller kind of in the back end he got a game ball from us uh clearly uh and then you also have the snap now this was interesting on the snap from Parker bford to jayen Muro inside the Red Zone I don't know what were they at the two yard line what happened who was it on I mean was it is it on both of them either way it wasn't good South Florida is able to recover you can't have penalties you can't have these type of turnovers against better teams against the Wisconsin I promise you whis Western Kentucky not good South Florida n i mean those guys had a little bit of grit the quarterback could run right up the middle of the field um Wisconsin you got to think is better than each of those teams and you have Georgia on September 28th certainly got to tighten it up going into those games now look the fourth quarter turnup that's what you can expect from Al abama in terms of this is a team that has so much quick strike ability you look at what they were able to do and it really kind of stemmed from uh a jayen and bway punt return and Cole Adams went down coach kayin debor said it was an arm injury so we'll keep you posted on that maybe we'll have an update on Monday but Jaylen and bque just Alabama just needed a little bit of momentum they didn't have momentum the entire game up until the fourth quarter then you get a Ryan Williams touchdown you get a Jan Miller touchdown right um you saw that fourth quarter kind of of erupt and it stemmed from just a little bit of momentum so let's go over our game balls in this game then we're going to walk you through the snap counts for every single position Kyle Henderson B football on YouTube I appreciate you guys being here first of all let's give a game ball to Tim Keenan when you start to dive into the numbers this guy played exceptional um nine tackles 43 snaps 86.8 Pro Football Focus grade fantastic performance by Tim Keenan um love that little dance move that he did as well Jam Miller 15 attempts 100 40 yards now that touchdown that he had in the fourth quarter that was big time Alabama running back football how many guys did he put into the dirt like three guys big powerful imposing running back a second straight week that he has a long touchdown run Jam Miller certainly a household name for sure Jihad Campbell 67 snaps 78.7 Pro Football Focus crate and 11 tackles look he was huffing and puffing at the end of the game the guy played 67 snaps he was everywhere how about this this was interesting to me Justin Jefferson now let's stay here for a minute he only played in 24 snaps but he has 10 tackles okay that's pretty impressive compounded onto that he was called for a targeting call did you think that was targeting let me know what you think inside the comment box he will miss the first half of the game against Wisconsin Malachi Moore my goodness when you dive into the numbers 79 snaps I think was the most on the team and he has a grade of 74.1 and he had two pass breakups later in the game which I thought were really um critical you have James bnip who is the team's puncher and sometimes we lose sight of the Special Teams players having this guy is an absolute weapon seven punts for 300 yards in this game um you continue to see James burnup getting better every single uh game and then Graham Nicholson uh still money at the Pats look before we move on to the snap counts and the Pro Football Focus grades if South Florida's quarterback could connect you he he's hitting some receivers down the field for probably touchdowns that's something that Alabama certainly needs to tighten up let's look at the Pro Football Focus grades I'll go full screen I'll talk over it Jaylen mirro in this game 17 of 27 199 yards two passing touchdowns 12 rushing attempts were only two yards he was sacked three times in the game total snap counts 77 and he has a overall grade of just 52.2 I think it's the lowest grade that he's had as Alabama quarter back I'll have to check but that is a grade and sometimes those grades are adjusted going into the week but right now as it's it's 52.2 let's look at the Alabama running backs you just saw two in action you had Jam Miller 15 carries 140 yards an average of 9.3 with a touchdown he had a reception for five yards 32 snaps 79.1 grade that's at the bottom of your screen Justice Hae 12 attempts 47 yards one reception for eight snap counts 45 and a grade of 63 also had uh that nice rushing touchdown there uh at the end of the game also had you know what was interesting about this game too how many big plays were taken away from penalties right Justice SS had a touchdown in the beginning um Jaylen milro had a touchdown in the beginning those were called back and then Kobe prentis he had a long catch as well uh that was called back now Alabama didn't necessarily go to their tight ends a lot last night but the tight ends they were on the field um you see CJ Dei in 58 snaps the great of 65.1 Robbie UTS 20 eight snaps a grade of 60.1 Danny Lewis gets in there for three snaps and then Josh quas had a catch for five yards when we look to the Alabama wide receivers we'll go start we will start on this graphic from left to right and as you can see Jeremy Bernard he was targeted seven times has four receptions for 53 yards snap counts 69 and a gr to 71.6 look jayen murro was going to Jeremy Bernard and he was going to Ryan Williams Kendra GLA look they didn't go to him he had one reception last game against Western Kentucky he was targeted last night played in 24 snaps he was greatest 52.4 do you find that interesting that in two games he has just one reception how about Kobe prentis now up to six receptions on the season he had 34 yards against South Florida um and he had uh he was targeted three times he comes up with a touchdown 26 snaps a grade of 81.7 this is the second consecutive game that Kobe Prentice has graded out at over 80% um Ryan Williams just a freshman just 17 years old four receptions 68 yards an average of 17 he has a touchdown in a critical point of the game where you needed momentum he was targeted seven times now look how do you feel about how South Florida played him I think some of some of this was Jaylen Moro overshot him but also South Florida they were holding on to him they had they had a safety over top people they look they are afraid of Ryan Williams I promise you um still hauls in 68 yards think about this he has three touchdowns in two games Emanuel Henderson played in 14 snaps Cole Adams the update on him is it's an arm it was injury man he catches a pass it didn't look good hopefully the kid's okay I really like his game I mean I like him at punt returner but Jaylen and Bak will will now be the punt returner for Alabama until further notice um Caleb Odum gets in uh what is it um like four snaps or something like that didn't see Rico Scott we continue with the Pro Football Focus grades and the snap counts right here on BMA football on YouTube okay you're you're not going to like this I get it um but here we are okay and Tyler Booker all right uh 77 snaps at the left tackle position a grade of 45.6 it's not his natural position but the grade is what it is all right you we need Kaden Proctor back J Gino vanderark 77 snaps a grade of 55.5 Parker bford 76 snaps uh 54.2 uh Jaden Roberts 77 Point uh 77 snaps and a grade of 70.7 willc Formby at right tackle um this was bad fam all right look at the tackles right here okay so this this is what I want to ask you okay you see Elijah pitcher just came in for six snaps now when we look at this and we look at your your left tackle from last night and you look at your right tackle and they have grades of under 50% how do you grade a quarterback like Jaylen milro and and I mean it look at the offensive lineman if these guys are getting beat off the edge if these guys are struggling how much is it on these guys and how much is it on milro now there was maybe a sack where I felt Jaylen milro could have threw the ball out but I mean if he's under duress I feel it's hard to grade him I look if he's not performing well and and I thought he was inaccurate last night talking about Jaylen milro but also look at the offensive line that's set up now it'll be a different offensive line against Wisconsin I'm curious to get your feedback how the offensive line play affects the quarterback play um and and for those of you that want a different quarterback out there could Tai Simpson Faire better with tackles that are still performing at this level I I think it's worth uh talking about okay um you have the defensive tackle look as you're going to see on the defense these guys played really good I know there was a couple drives where it seemed like the south Florida quarterback and and look he did run for over 100 yards but at the defense you know they they played well Tim Keenan in here nine tackles sack and a half 43 snaps a grade of 85.8 outstanding Tim Smith had a grade of 82.5 plays and 40 snaps five tackles uh Jim modus 18 snaps James Smith 26 snaps in a Grade of 60.3 at at the Bandit position you had jir and lean LT Overton um look LT played in 36 snaps 86.8 Pro Football Focus that's absolutely I think that's the second week in a row he's graded over 80 didn't see Keon key and didn't see Jordan rard in in two games Keon Key's played in just three snaps at the wolf position Q Rob I felt like I saw Q Rob everywhere 30 snaps 66.3 had seven tackles Keo coot plays in just three in just 10 snaps and then K Russo had two tackles played in 39 snaps in this game and then I think jonzi Pierre played in three snaps as well the inside linebacker position you had Deontay Lawson who played in 71 snaps who had five tackles you had Jaa Campbell who had 11 tackles in 67 seven snaps he got a game ball and Justin Jefferson um plays in 20 snaps and gets uh 10 tackles you go with the corner position for the Alabama Crimson Tide and I need to add how many times these guys were targeted uh I didn't like necessarily what I saw from this uh group I mean outside of dman Jackson I feel like D's played pretty good in these first two games but yo teams are going to Target DAV Brown like 100% um he he he was beat I think it was once or twice I thought they were running the same play I think they targeted him twice uh Jaylen ibak played in 18 snaps now he is great as 70.6 uh it's a lower grade and they also attacked red Morgan in the backfield you see the safety position but I I thought Malachi Moore and Keon sap I thought those guys played really good last night just in my opinion uh red Morgan was certainly targeted uh we'll go over uh the Special Teams and you have Graham Nicholson last night who was money on Pats James burnup he got a game ball seven punts three 300 yards an average of 42.9 Kendrick GL had a kick return 52 yards but he fumbled it and then jayen ibak thought he came in and did a great job two punt returns for 28 yards um you know when you look to this team and you kind of look to what they were able to do um look it wasn't perfect I think when you zoom out a little bit more you see that the defense did play you know I I think they played better than we probably saw it was a frustrating game for the second year in a row against South Florida a team that look is on the rise in the AAC they got a an okay quarterback and I think Alex Gish oh he's a good coach I think he's a future power five coach and Kaylin deor even after the game said this isn't even a wakeup call you just need to tighten some things up you do because Wisconsin and Georgia are the next teams up and those teams are much better than Western Kentucky and South Florida I think going forward the offense line will be better which gives me more confidence for this Alabama offense and what gives me off confidence about the offense is the quick strike ability these guys can score at on any single play there's so many Playmakers on this team the quarterback position the running back position the wide receivers the offensive line finds their continuity I think they'll be ready to go and to be honest it's starting to look like the theme of this team is the defense you know they might bend a little bit but they don't break and they play some pretty good Red Zone football and and they make it tough for you to get into the end zone I want to hear your five takeaways post look post five
