Odd Switch 2 Hints In The Nintendo Direct...

he hello everyone this is Andre restart and today we are talking about how this past Indie World Plus Nintendo Direct partner showcase had many very odd or strange Nintendo switch 2 hints a lot of us have been thinking that the switch to reveal is coming very soon like so soon it could be happening this September in just a few short weeks and a lot of this has to do with the fact that it looks like Nintendo has really cleared the Slate for September and moved up a lot of presentations to August like the museum direct and now this combined live stream of both the Indie world and this partner showcase and we've discussed this already but what many people are noticing about this presentation is that it was very odd there are a variety of peculiar elements surrounding this presentation and some of these I think are potential hints towards the switch 2 and perhaps further evidence that he reveal is very soon and so that's what we'll be diving further into today but before going forward let me ask that if you do enjoy my content to Please Subscribe and hit that notification Bell so what I'm going to discuss first here isn't necessarily A Hint from the partner showcase but it's something that I noticed recently that I think is very interesting regarding this switch through reveal possibly happening in September because a lot of people are still leaning more towards October and I can understand expecting later than sooner is usually a safer way to go about things but this little tidbit here might sway some people so when we go back to October 2016 the day that Nintendo revealed the Nintendo switch one with the NX trailer that first look Tom Phillips the editorinchief of Euro gamer had some things to say regarding the NX and just a reminder about the different things about the console before the actual reveal of the console later that day but he also said this fun fact back in July Nintendo was indeed targeting September for nx's announcement but Mario NX wasn't running perfectly now it is so this is interesting because it shows that Nintendo at one point did plan on a September reveal for switch one and this notion that October was always going to be the time well maybe that's not the case because according to Tom Phillips they wanted to do it in September so now looking at things this time around where we're sort of expecting a similar sort of reveal to release window not exactly the same but similar maybe September is a bit more likely than people are giving it credit for maybe September is what Nintendo would have ideally have wanted for the Nintendo switch one and maybe this time for switch 2 they're going to be able to do that just some food for thought there but now on to some of the Oddities of of this Nintendo Direct partner showcase and how it might be hinting a little bit more towards switch 2 so the big closer of the partner showcase was Yakuza kiwami this kind of game is a fairly ambitious game that many people would not expect to run relatively well on the Nintendo switch but here we have this trailer that's been announced it's coming and it looks like a pretty good version on Nintendo switch but this announcement is actually even more surprising because the head of this developer behind Yakuza masayoshi yokoyama said that y the Yakuza series isn't a good fit for Nintendo switch this is a little while back yet here we are and Yakuza has been announced for Nintendo switch so all of a sudden the tune has changed the Yakuza series is apparently a good fit for Nintendo switch so what has happened why is this now happening what's the change well there's an interesting room rumor from Nash Weedle that's being pointed out here so Nash Weedle someone who has talked about Nintendo leaks in the past and has gone a variety of things right but also some things wrong so of course take it with a grain of salt but they said starting gun next stop and they're essentially pointing out how there is a Yakuza game just announced for Nintendo switch but when we go back to last year they said leak Express a change of direction for the Yakuza series despite producer m sooshi yokoyama stating that the Yakuza series flashes with the switch's image in Japan they will be released for Nintendo's next console a bundle will be revealed at console launch so this is interesting for a few reasons this is perhaps adding a bit more credibility to Nash Weedle so recently we've come back to discussing some of the leaks from Nash Weedle because they were able to talk about a Mario and Luigi game coming out in a way that would surprise us and that ended up being Mar and Luigi brothership so it's seems like maybe they could be getting some things right here for whatever reason and now with this recent Yakuza announcement for Nintendo switch 1 considering that yokoyama had told us that the series isn't a good fit for switch and that here Nash Weedle said that Yakuza would be coming to Nintendo switch 2 there might be something going on here because he was indicating that there was a change in perspective regarding Yakuza and the Nintendo switch family the switch 2 shouldn't really be that different from switch one outside of being more powerful in terms of developers wanting to get their games on there we would assume right the whole point behind yokoyama is that the image of Yakuza doesn't fit the familyfriendly image that he had of the switch so it seems like Nash Weedle was privy to some information regarding the future of the series and this does seem to be some level of evidence that maybe he's on to something here and we're going to have a Yakuza collection come to switch to early on but we might have another hint for an early switch 2 game and technically this isn't something that was in the direct but rather it was something that was not in the direct and that's Call of Duty so you may already be aware that Microsoft and Nintendo has signed a 10-year deal to bring Call of Duty over to Nintendo and in case you didn't know Microsoft now owns Activision the makers of Call of Duty but the thing about Call of Duty is that these are Big AAA games that would be very hard to get running on the current Nintendo switch so the expectation is that these games would be starting on the Nintendo switch 2 but this is where things start to get a little weird so necro Filipe noticed that Call of Duty of Brazil was following different Brazilian Nintendo influencers but where things get even stranger is that we actually see right here there's evidence from my Nintendo news a screenshot of the imoji in response to posts on the Nintendo partner direct the official Call of Duty Brazil account was putting IM emojis and this has since been deleted it's no longer there here necro is pointing it out this post is no longer available this official Call of Duty account was following several Nintendo influencers was responding with emojis in response to a partner direct seemingly hinting at something Call of Duty being there but we've now seen the partner showcase nothing was there and I'm aware there's supposed to be a Call of Duty next event today and from what I can see nothing has been announced regarding a new Call of Duty game for Nintendo switch so it's looking like there is no Call of Duty coming to Nintendo switch 1 but why might they have done this and why did they delete the Tweet well the theory is the reason this happened is because Call of Duty is coming to Nintendo switch 2 the announcement is soon and there may have been some confusion regard this presentation and another presentation that could be happening just a few short weeks from now where there will be something Call of Duty and this is actually something I've been talking about lately the Nintendo switch 2 first look trailer that first trailer we're going to see a switch 2 that may showcase the hardware and some people playing it with some first-party Nintendo games but also some key thirdparty games one of those key thirdparty games could be Call of Duty and I think it makes a ton of sense firstly the relationship between Nintendo and M roft is stronger than it ever has been and with that first switch one trailer we did see Skyrim a Bethesda game a company that's now owned by Microsoft so there may be a desire to get some other kind of big Western game shown off with this switch 2 trailer and Call of Duty would be a huge gap because showing Call of Duty a huge AAA title that hasn't been on switch all these years is now going to be available early on for switch 2 it's something that will appeal to the Western audience significantly and it suggests a greater stronger level third party support that we did not see on the Nintendo switch so this would be an ideal game to have in the switch 2 first look trailer so all these Shenanigans surrounding this Call of Duty account on Twitter might be hinting at something like this but let's now talk about another exciting game that we saw during the partner showcase and this game might be my game of the show I'm not sure it's between this or the Castlevania Nintendo DS remaster collection but the game I'm talking about here is star over drive when I saw a thumbnail on Nintendo's YouTube page today I was like wow that looks like it's it's trying to evoke something big massive impressive and just looking at the trailer itself it is impressive this game really stands apart from pretty much all other games that were in the presentation it looks fairly ambitious it's this big beautiful alien world with some really cool movement and combat mechanics I'm very interested in this game and it's a game that's coming out sometime in 2025 we don't know exactly when just in 2025 when we're expecting the launch of the switch 2 now there's been a lot of discussion that the switch 2 may have a variety of frosten games or at least some enhancements of switch one games and we also widely believe that there's going to be backwards compatibility so there's a solid chance there are going to be some switch one games that will also have some bit of a run on switch 2 so I think this star Overdrive Game might be a cross gen title and from what we can gleam here it looks like this is currently a Nintendo switch exclusive but I took a look at something here I went to car call game studi website this is the studio behind star overdrive and I looked at some of their other games like okunoka when I click on it it takes me to Nintendo's listing of okunoka it's a cheap eShop title okay like it's it looks like a fun pretty game cool but this is definitely nothing like Star overdrive but then I took a look at this other game they had on here 2021 Moon escape and this game has some seemingly some impressive looking visuals as well but for the most part it's pretty simple it's being played on a Game Boy which is very cool but it's also a cheap eShop download as well so these games aren't like big and bishes titles but star overdrive when you click on it it doesn't take you to Nintendo's p agage where there's a small price with an eShop listing no this is its own dedicated website coming 2025 it's a beautiful imagery here it's got some nice animation here they say speed into the unknown explore the massive world on your hoverboard at lightning speed face multitudes of enemies and epic bosses use your key star powers and creative ways to solve World puzzles and shrines to progress and better yourself and this game just looks awesome it's an ambitious title and sure maybe it's just an ambitious title for switch one but if it is this is one of the most ambitious dedicated switch one Focus titles we have seen from a third party and I kind of think that this is something that's likely also coming to switch too the timing of it just seems very peculiar to me coming out in 2025 this is the first time that this student is putting out such a big ambitious effort when their prior Works have been far more simple I'm willing to bet here that this huge investment is not going to just be on switch one but also switch 2 there will be some sort of enhancement there but moving on from some third party stuff let's talk a little bit about Nintendo published offerings because people were hoping we might see something from Nintendo in this partner showcase a partner showcase is about third party Partners however Nintendo has at times shown games that they are publishing that are being made by third party developers so more of a collaborative effort and there was something like that and that was Fitness Boxing 3 coming out this December like prior entries have happened in other years so how does this switch One release relate to switch 2 am I hinting at another crosson title no I'm not what I'm getting at here is that this is a Nintendo published title for December this partner showcase as we've discussed before is very likely going to be the presentation that's talking about a mass amount of games for switch one in this part of the Year whenever there's a partner showcase that is the direct for that period of the year there's not going to be a September direct at least based off how they've handled things with the aftermath of all prior partner showcases they had all these different announcements they need to make regarding third parties there's not going to be a whole bunch more to satisfy a general Direct with also first part Nintendo games for this part of the Year especially now that we consider that they've dated games all throughout this year all the way until January and so my point with Fitness Boxing 3 it being the December game it was another opportunity for Nintendo to announce games for the early part of next year which is what the typical direct around this time of the year does but they didn't February March completely vacant nothing has a date Beyond January and so so basically I think this leaves the door open for a slew of Nintendo publish announcements for the early part of next year but not in a typical direct more likely at this point it's looking like for Nintendo switch 2 But continuing this train of thought of this transition something else I noticed about this partner showcase and the Indie world just this overall combined presentation is that there is an increased amount of Shadow dropped announcements several which we've gone multiple before but there were is a lot this time but even beyond that there was also an increased amount of the digital only releases like Yakuza kiami or digital first releases and physical coming out a few months later there was quite a bit and so I bring this up because my take away from this is that there's a lot of games that are being fit in last minute here these shadow drops these digital releases my sense is that there are some third part is trying to get in with that last big switch one Focus but it's almost like a clearing of the Slate getting things out now before the big jump to switch 2 that's my interpretation of it but what do you all think what do you make of all these Oddities surrounding this recent direct presentation do you think I'm on
