maybe that he can climb up it is overtaken them and nothing as soon as down there doesn't it when they head off down got the grip through the corners we need to sort it out on the straights it looks a kicks up Norris hoping to make it backto back poles he crosses the line now and improves on his time so he's put a bit more distance between himself and his teammate Oscar pastri he hasn't caros sence Mercedes tried the challenge couldn't quite make it Ferrari as well isn't it Lando Norris with ma second covers the top to SLE for another front I'm sorry your uh lap was good enough to PLL cool means uh your setup was amazing one boys they come along very often do they Max fora and before that Lewis Hamilton people that come in and they they they build as the special one he was in your cart team a few years back what was it that you saw in him yeah and Toto didn't even pay the full budget I had to subsidize it personally go yeah that was not too funny but anyways special talent so I was happy to do it um and yes he was very special you know he won everything that he was 13 years old at the time he is the kind of driver where look what seeing him come through is that the guy who's going to lead a generation you know like Hamilton did and first Sten did and um but of course it's still always different go-karting is one thing F1 is another thing and we Still Remains to be seen But the potential is there he's the luckiest young driver I think I've ever known because Toto loves him he's clearly a very talented young man as niik saw in his carting days and and what have you but he crashes the car and Toto is like did you see how fast he was before he crashed I'm trying to think back talking to Ken t or R Denis about that my father my father wrote me a WhatsApp and he was like excuse me like that used to be the case that if you drive too fast you're going to crash yeah exactly but then and then George whose car is just crashing on the screen there goes he's the man for the future I'm really pleased to have him as a teammate they will be they're being so kind to him but he he is old joking side he's clearly a great talent of the future but as niik was alluding to you know until the pressure is on there have been other great carting Champions who came into Formula 1 and flunked you know and and lost it but this young man's got so much support uh and he he's a very young driver of course so he he will make mistakes and they know that but he can't make too many like that the unfortunate thing is just that his preparation because of the timing of things is not optimal cuz he doesn't have a good car in Formula 2 so he's not able to dominate that as other people like leis Hamilton or so did so that's also something that's not helpful yeah well it wasn't ideal was it because the announcement came this morning we knew it was coming but uh we yeah we couldn't tell you until we were told we can tell you but this was it hastily arranged press conference uh let's hear from the man himself and uh some of the other big cheeses that were that yeah it was a great feeling um dream coming true uh obviously something I've been dreaming since they very young age and uh to finally be announced as a driver for 25 is is such a a great feeling and uh yeah canot wait to to get started I made up my mind um 5 minutes after L Hamilton told me that he's going to Ferrari um obviously there you know we were we were discussing um with um other options and also kept the the max idea didn't discount it completely looking at what happened at Red Bull um but instinctively that is the lineup with these two that I that I always wanted so the humility is a major factor loyality as you can imagine Kimmy growing up and having scored the successes there have been some of our competitors that have been after him especially due to nationality reasons and Marco Antonelli has always made clear this is you gave us the opportunity and that's why we're sticking with you um raw talent that he definitely has and an ability that you can't train you know like I said yesterday it's easier to make somebody calm down in terms of aggressiveness than the other way around and George mentioned it before you can't make somebody quick I think you know like we've done in the past we always had very short contracts uh with each of the drivers even with Louis last time around was one plus one and um this is in a way how the team operated but I I think most important is to see how George and Kim set Lin um and uh I see no reason at that stage of not giving them um the uh the faith and the trust of uh of going forward what it what that that means for the terms is something that we will discuss between ourselves but we wouldn't have gone for the line up with these two if we wouldn't believe 100% that they are the best choice for Mercedes
