Brad Spence and Taylen Green preview UAPB game

Brad you had a pretty big play last year with the 85 yard pick six um what do you remember about that play and you feel like maybe that was kind of like your your introduction as a Razer back man I just remember the crowd going crazy I mean that was like kind of my first game in college so that was really a crazy experience for me I really had a good relationship with the War Memorial Stadium so I'm excited to go back yeah you know what what do you see from uh from them on offense like what are maybe some of their Tendencies or maybe what their coordinator likes to do he's a heavy screen player you know he likes to keep a simple run game they depend on their running back a lot so I see them running the ball a lot and ton you ever been to Little Rock I actually been one time when I first got here uh shout out to Mr flank freser Frank Fletcher AUM shout out I me I went there when I first got here like I said you know met him you know great guy and yeah so I'm excited to go back did you did you ever have a chance to check out war memorial and if not what what have you heard about the stadium and U I guess just the Little Rock people and I don't know if are you familiar with all the tailgating and and all that kind of stuff on the golf course all that stuff they do I'm I'm just taking everything in you know uh we just had meetings between us like this is gonna be uh you first game you know this first play you know we already got our first play what we're going to do U he's like this is going to be your first play as a as a hog and you know I'm just going to take everything in and U I've heard a lot about it I've heard you know positive things and you know passionate fan base so I'm just excited for that for that first you know kickoff and hearing the calling the Hogs I bet it feels like it's been forever just waiting for this game to finally get here and um just your thoughts on you know finally playing a different opponent you know putting the helmet on wear it you know Arkansas across your chest for the first time just um your thoughts on that finally getting here I'm I'm extremely excited uh you know to be live too you know to run and uh to make people Miss but I'm also excited that I don't got to go against him you know making making my job harder than than uh what I'm used what I'm used to but you know I'm I'm glad every single day that I get to you know face uh Brad and you know this great defense that he makes I mean they make they make my job hard they don't they make us work for it and that's why I always tell the defense um they they don't have we don't we don't have any you know easy way out and so that's what I like thanks fell Tom go ahead yeah hey Brad we just had Landon on and he sounded like uh the Green Dot on defense could be you and could be Jaden have you guys come to a decision on that uh I'm pretty sure we Jaden Johnson for sure has it uh they're deciding out of the linebackers who to have it uh I'm not sure who's going to have it it might be me might be Stephen digs it might be either so so it could possibly move around during the course of uh a game yeah okay have you experimented it with it and what have you thought of it I had it a little bit in the spring and uh it was pretty decent it was something I I was new to so it was something that really helped the defense and uh with the 15sec game clock I feel like that's a big game changer for the defense so in what way in what way Brad that 15 seconds is a game changer yeah but but how how is it a game changer like it helps the def defense or uh communicates with the whole defense you know with the crowd interaction so we like get to home in on oursel and get to know the car more quicker more faster than trying to look to the sideline for a signal and it's Tempo or something like that so it's really a game changer for the defense gotcha Tay we talked to Coach patrino about this very thing last week and he said y'all were still trying to iron out the wrinkles what's your take Ben uh it's been I mean it's been pretty cool I mean that's the experience you know hearing you know coach patrino you know saying the play and it's given like um getting us ready I mean getting me ready you know for you know my goal and uh to get to the next level you know that's what they do in the NFL you know and just looking my teammates in the eye and calling the play in the Huddle and as coach patrino says running the show so it definitely uh you know like Brad said it's a game changer you know we don't have to look to the signal in you know uh I think it was was it t will saying how you know stealing signals and stuff like so it's definitely a game changer with that too gotcha um hey Brian I don't know if you'll be running down field with number 11 but apparently he's the guy who said that the Arkansas secondary was big but slow uh did y'all hear that yeah we heard it and we not really worried about what they talk about uh I feel like we got a good pretty good secondary to us our team so all other stuff we just right now so can't L about what they talking about thanks Jackson sorry ton one more Green Dot question for you you know week zero saw a lot of quarterbacks kind of you know going like this and you know loud noise and everything I mean has there been any added discussions maybe since the first week of games uh with Coach Patrina or coach Pitman about you know might not be this week but in the future on the road uh adjusting to the noise with the the communications I mean since uh fall Camp we've been you know doing you know crowd noise and practice and um practicing like the decb um so I mean I feel like we've done you know a great job of you know being in that atmosphere and we've been like tuning like the volume and the pitch um and going back and forth what what works and what does it so I feel like we've done a great job in you know preparation and uh we're just going to see you know the first week and you know the second week of you know what works and you know what does it and I know you you've mentioned before before and talking to us just how much of a goal it was to play you know SEC BigTime football when you enter the transfer portal what are the emotions like now you know two days away from from stepping on that field as a as an SEC quarterback you know this this is where why I came here you know uh just you know wearing the red and white and you know I'm excited like I said for this opportunity I feel like it's really going to hit me when we take off you know on tomorrow on the bus ride and you know just the the nerves and you know just the just the butter flies but you know I feel like we've done a great job of preparation so I feel like once we step on that field you know it's this go time you know we we got I know a lot of people's cting us out but you know everybody in this room everybody in this you know facility believes in you know what we have and that's what we're going to showcase on Thursday and Brad just kind of based off what tayin kind of just said everybody counting you guys out I mean I know you want to ignore the media and and try and lock in but it it has to seep in a little bit just how much motivation is there with you know maybe some of the expectations and the noise are kind of around the program right now it's kind of like a fuel to I mean is it's my motivation for sure and I hope the team also has that motivation of like being LIF up being left out by the media and all that so you know going into the season we're here to prove everybody wrong you know and go hard thanks guys all right Bob all you Oliver always says the best for last uh T you know by patrino he won a lot of big games he won some real big games in the Little Rock knocked off Fu a couple times one time to to Clint the Sugar Bowl bed uh what sense have you gotten from Bobby maybe about how excited he is one to be coaching back at Arkansas and and going to Little Rock and he has he told you about you know games in Little Rock I was I would say just the history you know when we watch our install tapes when we watch you know play it's it's in that stadium and you know like you said the LSU and um you know with um Mallet and you know everybody he's coached and um just the thing that I've to taken from him this this this whole week this game week um just the preparation that he has you know when we walked in on Monday he already had you know the game uh the game plan and just what we what we're going to you know do and that's what I was like I was like oh okay and so that just causes you know me to be you know prepared every single day you know cuz I I don't got no excuse you know the the place that we're running is the place already R and then I was ask you guys about Maran Harris and obviously telling you you play with them and Brad if you got if you want to chime in if you don't that's fine too because I know you're on defense but it sounds like he's going to start he's a little rock guy um you know maybe he wasn't looking like a starter back in the spring just what have you thought about his camp and what's put him in this position and you know what what your expectations are for him I'll say he's done a great job you know stepping up you know whether it's you know fall camp and and even in the spring uh he has he's always prepared you know he has a always has a smile on his face and you know any any question that he has he's not scared to you know ask it and you know he always he meses well you know with you know what we have and uh I'm I'm just you know extremely proud and you know can't wait for him to you know showcase what he's been working on uh day in and day out you know since you know everybody gu here in the spring yeah I also feel like he uh being from across the ball I feel like he also grew as a player you know I call him Big E so I feel like I feel like he grew as a player too as a offensive line I see him in the scheme I think he fits it very well I got one more for you guys Sam told us Monday he's G he's not gonna you know team didn't vote on captains before the season like like is usually the norm he he wants to have game day captains rotate around give different guys different chances just just wonder what y'all each think of that t t you you go ahead I got you uh I feel I feel like that speaks volumes to you know this team you know just we have so many leaders and you know um not just you know the starters you know it's it's a it's the second string third third string you know it's it's it's just we have a a great team and you know a great great leaders and you know you can't be a leader unless you know bring everybody up and you know that's what you know I love that everybody you know and that's what I like about uh the coaches they gave us the opportunity you know um whether in the spring or in the summer you know to be a player Le team and that's why I feel like the the greatest teams are is you know because the coaches are on the sidelines but we're the ones playing so we have to you know communicate and you know speak up when you know things are things are right and when things are wrong yeah just to P pigy back on what T was saying I feel like the team should be play LED you know we the ones out there playing so I feel like the team should
