NFC West: Rams, 49ers battle for first in Nick and Brou's predictions | NFL | FIRST THINGS FIRST

Nick just has the Cowboys Brew you you got a little trigger happy you're throwing everybody in the playoff you you picked five playoff teams yesterday he you did pick five your the order that we picked the division know I'm just saying I'm just saying all right Nick the floor is yours all right number four I think brew and I agree on this one but we might not because Brew's always been a bit of a genos skeptic so number four I have the Cardinals I was I'm not sure if Brew does as well we'll find out just a brutal defensive roster I think ganon's a very good defensive coach the Personnel is not there they're already dealing with injuries including to some of their draft picks this year the offensive line Paris Johnson's awesome the rest of the offensive line is just questions Galore I there's three good teams in the division I obviously love Marvin I know Greg's higher on Kyler than me to me it's just it this going to sound bad I think it's they are probably the best last place team in football I think that they might be the best best of all the last place teams but you got to and so in that division someone's got to come in last third Seattle and man this was the hardest team for me to leave out of the playoffs so I won't you know we'll see when the whole thing is revealed the team that they just missed their spot out on but I last year seemed like a super down year they won nine games I like Gino I love Mike McDaniel taking over that defense with all that Talent especially on the back end and I think he can coach up the front end because I didn't you know you got a career year out of Clowny in Baltimore vanoi played great so I love that part of it obviously you I said Mike McDonald I think I said McDaniel but they're new head coach from Baltimore Mike McDonald uh obviously their wide receivers are great but the offensive line in the running game was just not enough for me to get them in the playoffs I think there'd be around nine wins again number two in the playoffs the San Francisco 49ers Wow way too many red flags for me to say they're just going to skate to 12 wins last year it seemed like they were dominant start to finish they didn't win 14 games they win 13 games they won 12 games do I think that the auk still we don't know Trent Williams at this point I'm adding to the board might miss games like the fact that he's training Camp's now over if he was just trying to skip it it would be so he might miss games Christian mcaffrey dinged Bru guy Ricky persol I think he's practice made it through three three or four real practices Greg I'm just curious does a shoulder injury that doesn't come up a lot for a wide receiver during the year he'll just be fine from here on out I don't know that seems like a tough one uh and they in their last preseason game two of their rotational defensive lineman got dinged so all of that and Brew gave Brock pie a for the off season that's not great it's going to hurt his feelings it's going to get back to him uh and the Super Bowl hang over that to me is enough for them to go from 12 wins to 10 wins again it's you know what I mean it's not I'm not say I have them in the playoffs I think they'll be fine but I don't think it'll be dominant which of course then puts the Rams at number one I think this should be the best offense in the NFC I think that you're going to you know Cooper cup is good as whenever he's healthy I don't know how much longer he'll be healthy PUK is excellent I love both their running backs Kieran Williams and Blake corm the kid from Michigan I think will be instantly effective uh they have my pick for Defensive Rookie of the Year and Jared verse they spent their second round pick on his teammate Fisk uh listen I think Stafford is bonus prediction I I'm not in the darkh horse MVP business I'm in the sleeper MVP business Matt Stafford sleeper MVP pick I think the Rams are a 12- win team I think the Rams win the division I think the Rams have the best offense in the NFC there's the NFC West great pick Greg this one was tough for me this one was actually really tough for me I'm going to just say I got the Cardinals finishing last right now and I'm going to pass it off the Brew cuz I want to see how you sh okay all right uh this Nick this uh I don't know if this will surprised you or not but my fourth place team is okay I thought you were going to P now I do look I do think Kyler will show us like we'll he'll re regain that spot as like a respectable solid quarterback cuz I thought thought he played well at the end of last year and Marvin obviously I think those two have a nice nice season I just don't like you said the defense I don't think they have enough I did contemplate flipping them in Seattle but I I went with the Cardinal at Fourth at three obviously you got the Seahawks and it wasn't tough for me to lead them out of the playoffs I think they'll be respectable I think basically what they were last year 98 but that almost made the playoffs last yeah yeah but I I think the NFC is better though this year I agree was last year so I don't think they'll be like I don't think they'll be that much of a playoff fighting for the playoffs at number two I've got the Rams in the playoffs yes in the playoffs now I do I'm not as high on them as you are uh obviously I'm not as high everybody's high on Stafford I'm not quite as high as people are on Stafford I do think that obviously with them injuries can be an issue um but look they what they went seven to their last eight last year obviously played Detroit really tough in that playoff game lost by a point so you know and Shawn McVey is Shawn McVey so I I got them and then look obviously I've got the ners winning the division and I'm not worried about prie but I don't like the Vibes I gotta be honest like the Trent Williams out um obviously you got the situation with IU is that a good vibe or a bad VI no I think the back because he was going to be a stealer and now he's back what well he's he's back kind right kind I think he'll play though I do think he'll play for him um but I also think look they've been healthy for the most part for the last few years yeah McCaffrey's been healthy since he's been there could that be a problem so and and then what you're seeing is reminiscent of like Super Bowl hangover stuff but I still think they'll win the division um but I got some concerns about it yeah so I'm going to get back to mine and I'm I'm leaning towards Nick on this one I it was I don't have San Francisco winning the division I have the Rams winning the division two and three were tough for me oh you think the ners two and three with the ners and the Seahawks were tough for me because when I look at the Seahawks offensively if Gino could if Gino could just get back to what he was making plays not turning the ball over with those receivers that he has and then you have a running game I believe that's very effective with Walker and and if he can stay they can run the ball defensively they got better they made improvements obviously you get a head coach that's a defensive genius I like I really like this team to be scary and so I'm I'm skeptical but I'm going to jump out on the limb no I'm going to put the Seahawks at two and the ners are going to be three pred we so so you got the ners missing the playf I got the ners missing the Playoffs if you if if you if you follow the show the ners were in my bubble they were they were in my bubble yeah just burst it just burst can I don't say this out loud just maybe possibly oo yeah maybe what is that maybe I'll show you can't show bro I mean it's on the board it's on the board it's on the board it's on the board got Seattle making the playoffs I don't not even necessarily I didn't say that the ners so here's the thing Greg can I tell you something yes that I I flirted with that take I'm telling you man but I was I'm I'm I'm taking uh I don't hate it there's a long history of the Super Bowl hangover coming crashing on you and those are teams that have better off seasons and we haven't seen what Grant Cohen wrote today okay got can I can I just stir stir the pot so you had the 49ers missing the Playoffs you flirted with the 49ers I had yeah I'm winning 10 games okay flirting so if they roll are we still allowed to say well of course of course they're going to be good Brock P doesn't have to do much that team is stacked with great players or are you going to say this is an opportunity to that Brock py has to climb the hill of the super so for me the reason my in all seriousness the reason why I have them missing the postseason I don't know if they can be as healthy as they were last season I buy that like that's that's my real reason that's a b wor they're already they're already not a when you look at what they've had done in the offseason that's great I love their talent if they're all healthy I mean come on they they're a very talented team they should make the postseason I don't think they can do it again this year it's just the focus is going to be on all those great players and dynamic players Debo being healthy again another year consistently like McCarthy Trent Williams maaf yeah I listen I and part of mine is at this point I now I now think it is truly on the board that Trent Williams misses games and I do I think Brock P can play adequate without Brandon I I think he can play we've never seen him play without Christian mcaffrey but I give him the Ben for the doubt I think you could play fine without Christian mcaffrey I think without Trent Williams given the rest of the off that offensive line situation I think that he's just cooked and so if he misses games I just you've even seen in some of the preseason he's
