BREAKING: Chiefs WR Rashee Rice will NOT be Suspended by the NFL! Rice Update and More!

Intro welcome back everybody to the KC sports report Michael Darcy your host here as always and today I'm going to break down some of the recent news in the Rashid rice case and how this news will impact the Kansas City Chiefs so ladies and gentlemen of the Chiefs Kingdom we have some breaking news in the Rashid rice case if you guys remember a couple months ago in March Rashid rice was involved in a street racing incident on a Dallas Texas freeway which left multiple people injured and had him facing eight felony counts and those charges are still pending and I think after the incident happened most Chiefs fans just assumed that he would be suspended by the NFL but after some recent news from the NFL that might not be the case and so in this video I'm going to break that down give you my thoughts and ultimately tell you if I think Rashi rice will be suspended because if you would have asked me two or 3 months ago when this incident first happened I would have told you absolutely there there's no way that rasid rice is not facing at least a two to four game suspension for violating the NFL's conduct policy usually players in the NFL that go through that kind of an off season where you're in that sort of legal trouble where the spotlight is on you you're genuinely and most of the Rice Suspended time you're going to face a suspension of some sort and so I think that I assumed like most Chiefs fans that Rashid rice was going to face a two to four game suspension to start off the 2024 season but it seems like that's not the case so an article by Pro Football Focus says that the NFL has actually not met with Rashid rice yet basically the NFL is waiting for the legal process to conclude and they released this statement to pro football talk and here it is we've been monitoring the developments in the matter following the conclusion of the legal process the NFL will review the matter under the personal conduct policy this confirms Brown Injury that an unpaid suspension isn't happening anytime soon which means that Rashi rice will more than likely start off the 2024 season playing week one against the Baltimore Ravens which is great news for the Chiefs because just a couple days ago their number one wide receiver Hollywood Brown suffered a Sterno vehicular Sterno vehicular I Rice Suspension Sterno he suffered dislocated shoulder is the best way to describe it and he's going to miss the next three to four weeks of the season and there was some genuine concern that it would have just been Xavier worthy and probably Sky Mo and cadarius Tony filling in the gaps because we all assumed that Rashid rice was going to be suspended but if the NFL hasn't met with Rashi rice already and they haven't even discussed a suspension I think it's pretty safe to say that as of right now he is not going to be suspended to start the 2024 season and listen a suspension is more than likely coming I think it would be naive to think that the NFL won't eventually get to him but if they're going to wait until the legal process concludes they Timing could be waiting a long time I mean you're you're you're waiting for the legal system to make a decision and most most of the time that takes months if not years I I mean I don't think we'll have a ruling on this until November or December at the earliest and so that gives rasid rice a solid two or three months to start the season and so that's great for the Chiefs now I could kind of see the point that some fans are making that they would rather have him get suspended early to get it out of the way but right now with the wide receiver questions that we have Rashi rice starting off the season is such a great thing we we needed this for this offense and I think that the Chiefs kind of got blessed by the NFL that they're not uh Frank Clark getting on Rashid rice right now but rather they're waiting for the legal process to pan out and guys that might be months from now if they even get it solved during the season I remember Frank Clark was kind of in a similar situation I mean I don't think we were talking about you know suspension from the NFL but the Chiefs I think suspended him and they were waiting for the legal process to you know finish up and it took a long time and so if that's the case for Rashid rice the Chiefs are going to have their number two SL you know number one wide receiver available for the first month of the season and that is great for this team and so let me know down in the Outro comments below what you guys think do you think that Rashid rice is going to get suspended do you think that he's going to bypass that suspension alog together I think he's probably going to get suspended but he's not going to get us suspended right away and so that is really good for this team and I think it's going to help the offense really get going to start the season so again the NFL released a statement saying that they have not had any conversations with Rashid rice they have not met with him and if they haven't met with him a suspension cannot just appear they got to talk to Rashid rice they have to review his case and it seems like until the legal matter is closed and and they can finally put a stamp on that Rashi rice is going to be okay and and that is great for the Kansas City Chiefs so that's what I think about that if you guys have a
