not because we understand everything about it not because we always find it that easy but because we know that God has called us into this fate that God has called us to be his chosen people today throughout the Bible the Jewish people are always called God's chosen people they were the people to whom God first revealed himself to the human race the Book of Genesis the first book of the Bible tells us that God revealed himself to Abraham first but of course today we are God's chosen people we are now the people God is acting through and the agreement we have with God is summarized in our first reading we have no intention of deserting the Lord and serving other gods We Shall Serve the Lord for he is our God our presence here at this Mass means that we are serving the lord it means that we've not deserted the Lord we're serving him but we have to ask some questions are people everywhere still serving the lord today Christian attitudes are being challenged everywhere and Ireland is not escaping people are being pulled away from their fate attitudes to marriage and the family are being challenged attitudes to the sacredness of Life attitudes to the unor our first reading challenges us to stand by our Christian convictions and beliefs for us to question who am I to G who am I to Father who am I to UST Whom Shall I entrust my life to for us the answer is to be found in Jesus Christ most of us are what we call cradle Catholics we were Bor into our faith our Christian beliefs and Christian convictions have been handed down to us by our parents everything about our commitment to our faith just as the Israelites did and taking possession of the promised land in the words of our first reading we too say we have no intention of deserting the Lord and serving other gods our presence here at Mass means that we are serving the lord so we stand now and we Proclaim our faith I believe in one God maker of heaven and Earth things visible and invisible I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God B of the father before all ages God from God light from light true God from true God begotten made consubstantial with the father and through him all things were made and by the Holy Spirit was incanted the Virgin Mary became man for our sake he was crucified under pontious pilate he suffered dead and was buried and rose again on the third day in
