a running back rotation in this offense for this organization going back to Todd Gurley days when he was the epitome of a three down back and nobody else could get a a whiff right I I think he's been I think he's playing with Max effort this is what he is now whether it fits or not we don't know be a shamed to see him claimed by another organization I know that much because in just his second year he's he's got a lot of fans inside the building and he's performed well but since the ramps have drafted him there's been a pivot in kind of their organizational philosophy with respect to the running game they've gotten shorter and stockier and hands out of the back field is very important now cardi the kicker sends it away off the T and this will be a Touchback that's nice to see his leg as he history uh you saw Rob havenstein take some time off uh allar Jackson is going to be out he's still injured Jonah Jackson Miss time so there's a lot of question marks on offense a group that we thought was going to lead the football team suddenly has a lot of issues but healthy together playing at the same time I don't think there's a defense out there that they can't score on they can run the football they can definitely throw it they have guys that can get open and they have one of the best Minds in football on the sideline controlling the offense but health is an issue right now 70 seconds to go there's the second knee from Tim Bole backup quarterback for the Texans one more on third down should do it now the other side the biggest question mark was how do you replace Aaron Donald how many times have you worried about the defense this preseason they've done everything they can to instill confidence in me without seeing it live against a game plan that's what I would say their urgency their enthusiasm their tackling this has been one of the best tackling preseason groups I've ever seen yeah until today until today but I mean the guys who are going to be there starting next next Tuesday no doubt one more knee and that'll do it Victory formation for the Texans they go three and one in their preseason they deny the Rams bid for summer Perfection here the Rams finish the Rams the Rams only defeat of this pre-season I'm a bonehead this was my one opportunity to actually see a game sitting down and I stood up the whole game with you I blame you thanks for thanks for being a team player you know you walk 23 miles in the humidity and the heat of Houston and I ask you to come off the sideline and join me with Maurice Jones Drew moving over to the TV booth and what do you do you stand for three hours I stand up again that's cool though it's look football is meant to be played at full speed and you should stand up while the game is on but fun stuff I mean look your mental Rolodex going back to the start of Camp to what you think is going to be the roster any big changes in your mind I think I knew who the guys were in July and I think it's going to be those same guys going into September I think offensively they are who we thought they would be def defensively I think there's some shakeup and I think you have to be impressed with this college free agent class yeah the work that the Rams College scouting Department did to identify them the work that their position coaches did to entice them with the opportunity that might be here this offseason and then especially the work that the likes of an Omar Spates for example has done and we can name some others but to potentially and we think likely make this roster and have a helmet on Game Day for Sunday Night Football in two weeks that's really saying something because the Rams poured into their defense poured into their defense this off will come to Woodland Hills that was your goal at the beginning of the camp and here you are sure enough they're interviewing cam Acres how about that the revenge tour there he is on TV missed that guy nice hair dude uh but no uh when you think about it I mean guys like Osan matys we have been waiting for him to show us who he is and I don't think that ever materialized and if you wait too long guys like Brennan Jackson will take your spot guys like Nick Hampton will move past you and then you become an afterthought so defensively speaking I thought they got off on the right foot I thought they were going to be up the field and energetic I thought Jared verse and his leadership and his dare I say his mouth and the way he gets things going has really energized this entire front this entire defense and Braden fist like we said now he's know Aaron Donald no one is but he is going to be a problem come September for everybody that has to block him because of his speed yeah I've said this numerous times but you look at the five-game gauntlet before the buy the Rams will open with and we will know what an Aaron Donald L defense looks like right away we will have a very clear picture of what a Chris schula coordinated defense looks like right away because you're playing the Detroit Lions who have a case to be made for the best offense in professional football the Arizona Cardinals once Kyler Murray got back to health they were devastating especially with their run game at the end of last season and they just drafted the best receiver in a loaded receiver class the 49ers of the 49ers in week three Caleb Williams has already taken over Chicago in week four and never has a 1-1 quarterback walked in to such a situation in his skill group and then lastly were the Green Bay Packers any good offensively at the end of last year yes that's your week five test before the buy I I still don't know what happened in Green Bay that day cuz everything changed what for both teams I do what happened you got love paid that day that's what it was and I am tired of going to Lambo field and I am tired of being the pivot point in a Green Bay Packers season let them come to Sofi stadium and Englewood this season but uh I do feel like the Rams should get a commission off of Jordan Love's salary there a couple percentage points but everything changed there let's you finished strong uh you had one one I wouldn't say bad moment they just beat you by a point in Detroit but I'm happy you have have to start there where you finished because that was about as rough as an environment as I've ever seen I agree and I think the ram should be braced for some body blows on the front end of their schedule because of where they are because of where they're trying to go and because the opponents they're going to face but if last year taught us anything it's that September and October do not Define your season not at all now you can go from three and six with a quarterback having a bum bum thumb to 7-1 MVP caliber football and being the team that no one wanted to face wanted to see you and it kind of funnel fueled everybody's picks for this year I I do like being the underdog I really do when no one's talking about you yeah I do worry when people pick you as a Super Bowl Contender early complacency is a big deal in the National Football League I'll say this last year was the most enjoyable non-championship season I've been a part of and I think a lot of our fan base felt that way there was just joy and the youthful exuberance the upand cominging talent and the way they're able to exceed those minimal expectations let's get back to winning championships this year with the Los Angeles Rams that is the goal absolutely and it can happen um dare I say you have the best quarterback in the NFC anybody else anybody else I think last year taught anyone who was listening not to fade a Shawn McVey Matthew Stafford partnership again yes anytime they're in the building you're going to have a tough Sunday no doubt all right
